    Halsin, still in bear form and covered in goop from the slime creatures in the pit, runs straight into the water. "Hey, there’s an idea!” Cinder says with a boisterous laugh. She tosses her pack to the side and runs in after him.

    “That water is probably freezing!” Shadowheart yells, trying to get her to stop. Halsin has extra insulation as a bear, but if Cinder gets wet-
