Work Text:

The trees gently rustled in the wind as ClownPierce stepped over the blood and random items littered across the battlefield. He looked down and briefly glanced over some of the items laying about. A sword here, a pair of boots over there, but nothing that really captivated his attention.

What did captivate his attention was his enemy standing in the forest line a few metres from him, hiding behind a tree. Standing where he was, Clown could make-out the outline of a bushy fox tail as well as a dark purple cloak. Ah yes- Vitalasy. Typical of a fox to hide when scared.

ClownPierce quietly approached the tree so as to not alert the fox hybrid that he knew where he was hiding. He unsheathed his weapon- a lovely scythe- and easily cut through the tree altering and startling him. Vitalasy spun around to face him and drew his sword.

“ClownPierce.” Vitalasy began, standing his ground. “It's just you and I left.”

“Indeed it is. Your team fought well, but not well enough.” ClownPierce motioned behind him at the bloodied field. “And choosing to fight in an open field? Not exactly in your favour. I thought you would have known better.”

Without warning Vitalasy jumped towards Clown, swinging his sword at his arm, aming to knock away his scythe. Unfortunately for the fox hybrid, ClownPierce was able to react fast enough to dash to the left. He stuck his foot out causing Vitalasy to trip and land on his stomach.

ClownPierce kicked Vitalasy’s sword out of reach, before returning his attention to the fox. Vitalasy flips himself onto his back trying to get up,only to be pushed back down by Clowns foot.

“Let this be a lesson, Vitalasy. Don't start a war you're not certain you can win.” Clown exchanged his scythe for his sword. “And let this be a lesson to the rest of your team, don't trust someone who ran and hid when they were losing.”

Clown raised his sword and stuck it through Vitalasys chest. He felt a refreshing surge of energy shoot through him as he gained another heart, now comfortably sitting at 16.

ClownPierce gently wiped off his sword with a spare cloth he had, and put the weapon away. Clown did a once over of the land to insure he had dealt with all his enemies.

Nothing over in the field, nothing behind the other trees, and no one hiding in the bushes.

With the area cleared ClownPierce started in the direction of one of his teammates' bases. He needed to know why they were all no-shows for the battle.

A pair of blue eyes watched from a tree top as the jester walked away. Once they were certain that ClownPierce was far enough away, Rekrap emerged from the leaves.

Ever since Clown showed up on Echocraft, Rek had been suspicious of him, especially having known what he had done on Lifesteal. Like the good friend he was, he tried to warn his friends that ClownPierce could have ulterior motives, but most of them didn't listen. He had to watch as Clown grew close to Branzy, and how Branzy didn't listen to his warning. Hopefully the footage he got of ClownPierce committing crimes would change Branzys opinion.

Bringing himself out of his thoughts, Rekrap checked his camera to see specifically what he had gotten. The camera showed Clown dealing with Vitalasy’s team, as well as his dealing with the fox hybrid himself. Wonderfull.

Rek quickly glanced around to make sure the coast was clear before he began to make his way towards one of the many secret bases he had, just roughly 500 blocks west of where he currentaly was.

After 5 minutes of walking and occasionally hiding in bushes, Rek finally reached his base.

He carefully undug the entrance and gently put the dirt back before descending down the ladder. He stepped off when he reached the bottom and started towards the computer in the back left corner.

Despite how much good footage he got he still had to edit it. Take out the audio, remove some leaves that were blocking the view, and take out the blood.

As efficient as it would be to leave the blood in, he knew how Branzy would react if he saw blood. His friend, as chaotic as he was, didn't do well with blood, and has even passed out in the past at the sight of it. And he never told anyone why he reached the way he did either, despite how many times they asked him.

With the editing done Rekrap uploaded the file to a USB drive. As he stood to go deliver the computer stick he glanced at the time. 9 Pm. Apparently the editing took a while. Rekrap yawned before making the decision to just deliver the stick tomorrow.

He climbed the ladder to check if his hidden base was still hidden. Rek poked his head out and glanced around. He knew no one had followed him here, but this was Lifesteal not Echocraft, and he would take no chances.

After verifying that he was alone, Rek climbed back down into his base and lazily fell into bed. Had it been any other day Rek would have avoided sleeping in a bed, but he had a long day of spying on ClownPierce and editing. He would let himself not be overly paranoid, but only this time. And now it was time to fall asleep to the beautiful image of waffles.

On the other side of the server, ClownPierce sat in a dark room of his base, looking into other servers to see if there was any record of Branzy being on them.

So far, there was nothing. Not a single one. But he was certain that the goat had been on other ones. It was highly improbable for people to be born on servers other than the main hub, and also quite dangerous. Not all servers had hospitals, and if something went wrong, the preginte one was likely to die or the baby would die in birth.

Just when ClownPierce was about to give up and log off, he found one server. It had almost no information on it, but it did mention being the birthplace of most goats. When ClownPierce went to look further, the only other piece of information was stuff about religious practices, which Clown had no interest in.

The server looked to be mostly in the mountains with lots of climbing surfaces. At the very bottom of the server site the IP was listed. Clown scribbled it down on a nearby piece of paper and tucked it in his pocket.

Clown stood up, deciding to leave the rest of the search for tomorrow, he was tired. He walked over towards the door and sealed it off with some stone. He walked back to his bed and took off his armour and mask. His ears felt free for the first time in awhile. He slipped under the covers of his bed and let the comforting darkness of sleep take him.
