Work Text:
At 5 Am sharp Rekrap woke up. It was a skill he had trained himself to have by waking up every single day at 5. Some days he felt more energized than others when waking up at this time, but there were always off days. Unfortunately for him it seemed like today was going to be one of those days.
Rek slid out of bed and proceeded to destroy it to remove his spawn. Best to not have any spawn trap him, especially since he would be away for the day. After verifying that his spawn was good, Rek walked over to a small hidden kitchen tucked away in the corner behind the ladder.
He began brewing himself a pot of coffee, Robusta to give the most energy, and left out a mug. Rek then walked over to the freezer and began rummaging around to find something to eat.
After deciding on a nice crispy waffle, he put it in the toaster and grabbed syrup, a plate, and cutlery as he waited for his coffee to be done.
Soon enough the brewing stand held a delicious pot of coffee. Rekrap poured himself a mug and set it near his plate before running to grab the waffle from the toaster. Placing everything down in his spot he went to grab a chair and then took a moment to step back and admire his breakfast.
It looked and smelled glorious. Wasting not a second more, Rekrap began eating his food. And my goodness, it lived up to the smell. Unfortunately, no good thing lasts forever and soon enough, his breakfast was all gone.
Rek stood up and put away his dishes. He had quite a day ahead of him, and unfortunately, Branzy was quite stubborn. But if Branzy wasn't going to listen easily, then Rek would only have to work harder to prove to his friend that he was right.
Rek walked back and surveyed the room, making sure that any trace of him being there was gone. From the bed being neat and no trace of breakfast or dishes, it looked as if the bunker was freshly built. He turned around and climbed up the ladder, quickly concealing the exit upon reaching the surface.
He turned and began his journey towards spawn, it would be a better place to switch servers rather than near his secret hide out.
As he walked the trees swayed slightly from the wind, the grass was soft and slightly damp. Rek looked up at the sky, which was a dark grey. The colour of the sky combined with how the grass felt wet, presumably from a light rain, would probably mean that there would be rain soon to come. He would prefer to not be on lifesteal when the rain came, the ground would be slippery and harder to fight and run on.
All of a sudden the air around him felt cooler and he felt a drop of something wet hit his shoulder. Looking back up the sky he saw more droplets of rain beginning to come down. He began to jog to reach his destination faster.
After about two minutes of running he had reached spawn. The weather had gone from some droplets here and there to heavily pouring rain. The drops were hard and cold, and coming down quite fast. Thank goodness it was spring and not winter.
To his left Rek could hear the sound of metal against metal. Looking over he saw Vitalasy, Subz and a few others engaged in a heated battle with Clownpierce and his team. Not wanting to draw attention to himself, he slipped around the corner of a nearby building, and quickly logged off the server.
When he logged on to EchoCraft he immediately went to find Branzy. It wasn't too hard, given that Branzy was at his base.
Rek walked up to the door and knocked. He could have just walked in like he and Branzy often did to each other, but Rek wanted to be polite when he convinced Branzy that Clown is dangerous.
Rek heard shuffling coming from inside, and when Branzy opened the door, he was in his pyjamas. His hair was a white ball of tangles, clearly unbrushed.
“Rek? What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be asleep?” Branzy asked, sleepily.
“I'm up early. Can i come in?”
“Sure.” Branzy opened the door wider, allowing Rek to step in.
Rek headed towards the couch to sit down. Next to him was Branzy’s beloved goat, Squido. She wore a pair of stylish orange sunglasses and a green backpack.
“Why is Squido wearing that?” Rek asked, motioning to the goat. He knew that sometimes Branzy enjoyed dressing her up, but it was far too early for Branzy to have done that.
Branzy shuffled over to where Rek was sitting and joined him on the couch, on the other side of his goat, wrapping himself in a blanket as he did so.
“What..?” Branzy asked looking over to his goat “Oh. I don't know, I just woke up.” Branzy yanwed, and one of his ears flicked as he did so.
“So,” Branzy began, but his sentence was interrupted by a yawn. “What can I do for you?”
“I have a video to show you.” Rek pulled out his communicator and prepared the video to show Branzy.
Rek passed the communicator to Branzy with the video open.
Rek held his breath as Branzy pressed play and watched with half lidded eyes as he watched Clown defeat all his enemies. There was so much blood that all there sometimes was on the screen was big blurs. As the video progressed Branzy made no movements, except for his still sleepy eyes moving across the screen.
Eventually the video ended and Branzy sliently passed the communicator back to Rek. Rek slid it back into his pocket.
“Well?” Rek said at his friend’s lack of reaction. He tried to keep a calm expression on the outside, but on the inside he was worried sick. Did he need to blur the blood more? What if he took it too far? Rek was only trying to protect Branzy, he swears!
“It's too early for this…” Branzy tightened the blanket around him and adjusted to a more comfortable position. He closed his eyes, trying to sleep again.
“Branzy…?”
“Can we talk about this later? Please? I just wanna sleep.” Branzy’s eyes stayed closed, exhausted.
Rek eyed his friend with concern. He sighed. “Ok. I'll be back tomorrow.” Rek stood up, and went for the door. With one last look back at his friend he shut the door, locked it and went away to kill time until tomorrow.
What neither of them saw was how Squido’s eyes followed him out.

When Clown plugged the server IP into his communicator, it took a hot second before anything came up. But when it loaded, Clown immediately scrolled down to find the ‘join’ button.
He clicked it and the world around him bagan to change. He was no longer in his armour covered in blood, he was no longer in the comforting darkness of his base.
Instead he was in a forest. When Clown looked up, he could see mountains lining the sky, as well as the top of what looked to be a church not too far from where he had spawned in.
Seeing no other option, Clown began towards the structure, because where there were churches, there had to be villages.
When he entered the village, all eyes were on him.
Mother goats were quick to herd their children away, vendors quickly averted their eyes, and the priests clutched their holy books closer to themselves in fear of him.
It was always strange walking amongst goat hybrids. It was because they knew. They knew that Clown was like them. A goat. But they also knew that he was so much more than them. Something much more dangerous.
Eventually, Clown reached the centre of the town. There was a large board that held a map. On it were several locations, as well as the type of goats that live there.
In a northern corner of the map was a mighty mountain that was said to be the home of mountain goats. Because their white fur was the same as Branzy’s, Clown decided to start his search there.
But because Clown wasn't accustomed to the harsh cold of the mountains, he was going to have to spend the day in this village, gearing up for his upcoming journey.
Clown walked away from the board to begin getting what he’d need.
