Today was 14 March, the so-called "White Day" where people gave out white colored sweets to the person they like. Caelus then folded his hands while thinking. Wasn't it similar to Valentine Day last month then? Heck, they even got the same date! Only the difference was the month and the color of the sweets that you were supposed to give.
"Eh, whatever." Caelus casually said, not wanting to think about it further. It was still the day to celebrate with your lover right, so who cares? That just meant he could send Dan Heng foods again to show his love just like on Valentine Day, and Dan Heng would be happy!
Caelus silently giggled remembering the foods he got for Dan Heng on Valentine Day. Pretty much all of Xianzhou Luofu's sugarless local snacks since he didn't know which one Dan Heng would like. It was thanks to his daily routine of helping people that he didn't go broke after spending tons of money. Dan Heng's surprised face that time was super cute and his smile afterwards while thanking then patting his head made Caelus squeal in happiness. The grey haired boy couldn't wait to see how happy Dan Heng would be when he received all these Penacony local snacks.
"I want all of these white candies and cakes, the ones that aren't that sweet. You know what, throw in some cakes with bitter choco too~!" Caelus pointed to the line of foods from the catalogs and the waiter’s eyes immediately widened in shock from how much he ordered. "And pack and send them all to Dan Heng from Astral Express... oh and Pom-Pom from Astral Express too!" Couldn't forget his favorite Conductor or he'd sulk and hit him. Well, honestly being hit by Pom-Pom’s fluffy paws wasn't that bad, but Caelus preferred the rabbit conductor to be smiling happily.
Caelus paid for the foods then left the shop while humming in glee. What kind of face would Dan Heng make? he wondered. If only he could go and see it himself in the Express...
Wait, he could see him though? While it was true he had the stupid "a deal you can't disagree" deal with Aventurine, as long as he didn't get out of Penacony it would be fine right? The Astral Express was parked in Penacony, what's even stopping him from visiting his boyfriend right now?
Ping!
"Ohh~! Dan Heng messaged me!" The grey haired boy quickly took out his phone and opened the chat in anticipation. It seemed like Dan Heng wasn't too surprised by the gifts. Even when Caelus tried to hype it up, he still reacted ordinarily. However-
It's a bit too much for me. It's something March might enjoy.
Owh.
Caelus stared at the screen with a slightly opened mouth. Seemed like he was the one that got surprised now. He quietly shoved the phone back inside his pocket, then smacked both of his cheeks hard till they turned red.
"Yos!!!" Caelus pumped both of his fists up into the air and with a new spirit, he made his way to the place where people woke up to the Reverie Hotel in the real world.
Well, all the more reason and an excuse for Caelus to visit Dan Heng. After all, he gotta make sure his boyfriend actually tastes the foods before giving a comment on them right?
"Hmm..." Caelus put a hand to his chin as he stared at the entrance to the Astral Express. "Me coming here should be a surprise so... how do I open the door without notifying Pom-"
The entrance of the train suddenly opened with such force it made a loud bang sound that made Caelus, who's deep in thought, jumped in surprise. A familiar raven haired man in green and white then came out of the train in a hurry.
"Pom-Pom, I'll be going for a while- Caelus?"
"Dan Heng~!" Caelus called in glee, like a child who's excited to see their favorite mascot in an amusement park, though in his case it was his beloved lover.
"What are you doing here? Ah, let's go inside first." Dan Heng quickly pulled Caelus inside, still in surprise.
"Oh, Caelus you're back already? Dan Heng just said he wanted to go meet you." Pom-Pom said from the other side of the Parlor before walked out the parlor with a broom on their hand. Their instinct told them to leave the couple alone right now.
Upon hearing Pom-Pom's words, Caelus' eyes perked up at his boyfriend. "Dan Heng, do you wanna meet me? I wanna meet you too~" he said with a smile and took both of Dan Heng's hands in his. "How's the gift? It's for White Day! Have you tried one?"
Dan Heng suddenly fell silent at his question and Caelus swore he could see an imaginary lighting bolt struck at the back of his head. Dan Heng's face immediately turned dejected with guilt written all over it. Before Caelus could ask what's wrong, his hands were wrapped tightly by Dan Heng who looked at him straight with his beautiful and sharp teal eyes that made the grey haired boy's heart skip a bit.
"Caelus, Please forgive me for my message earlier. I'm really grateful that you send me and Pom-Pom so many gifts, even using your own money. Not to mention it's supposed to be me who should have give you gifts on White Day... I'm really sorry..." The raven haired pleaded. His voice sounded soft and sincere, unlike his usual serious one. Tightening his hold yet still felt gentle, he continued without missing a single beat, "I'm sorry that it's late, but thank you very much Caelus. I'm really happy for the gifts and I promise I'll give you a return gift soon too. I love you so much."
Caelus had his mouth opened in surprise by the time Dan Heng finished. Honestly, he didn't really understand why did Dan Heng tell him he's the one who supposed to give him a gift. Still, a huge wave of relief washed over him as If a huge boulder on his back was lifted that his body now felt relaxed as If he was floating. A wide childlike smile then slowly made it into his face.
"Ehehehe... I'm really happy Dan Heng likes my gifts... yeah I'm really happy..." Caelus spoke happily, though his voice strangely gradually wavered. His eyes also started to feel warm and teary. "Dan Heng likes my... gift... I'm glad... I'm really glad... ah.. huh?"
That was strange, wasn't he supposed to be happy that his lover liked his gifts? Sure he was smiling, but why did he cry too? Even snot started rolling out of his nose. Caelus tried his best to wipe all of them away with his hands. However, before Caelus could think any further, he was suddenly enveloped in a hug by Dan Heng. The raven haired man didn't say anything, but just stroked his head slowly in a gentle manner.
Caelus just stopped, both his mind and movement. The next thing he knew, he had both of his hands reached out to Dan Heng's back and hugged him back while burying his face to the crook of the other man's neck.
He didn't understand what he was feeling right now nor even knowing the reason behind it, but...
Dan Heng, his beloved lover, liked his gifts. He was glad.. really glad that he didn't screw up the gifts for Dan Heng and...
Caelus hugged Dan Heng even tighter while still sobbing quietly.
That there was at least one good thing that happened to him in Penacony.
