Work Text:
So much still hung in the air between them… all the things he never said to her. He’d been biding his time, waiting for that magic moment that never arrived.
He’d felt so resplendent in bed last night, laughing at the ceiling with Garak curled up next to him, wondering when he could tell his friends the truth of who they were to each other.
Little did he know what Jadzia, too, was guarding.

He couldn’t read Kira’s tears—how heavy they were. How much they held.
Everything he’ll now never know.
