Wolf listened to her teacher's speech before they entered the assembly hall. It was their last day of school, and Wolf's class was about to sing in front of their parents.
Wolf was dressed in a red Christmas dress, one that she had been reluctant to wear until Song convinced her that she could take it off as soon as they were back home. Wolf could see her family in the audience. She was happy that they had come to support her, but she was also nervous in case she messed anything up in front of the hundreds of people before her.
She decided to use the advice that Kipo gave her before they left home - to only focus on the people that mattered, instead of everyone around her. And so, Wolf made eye contact with her family during the entire performance. Despite being decently confident in her singing voice, she didn't dare to do anything but mumble the lyrics to the songs, since she was afrisd to pull the spot light.
After what felt like an eternity, she got to give one last bow to the audience as the performance ended. All of the children rushed off the stage to find their parents, and Wolf did the same. She found them talking to her teacher, wishing each other a merry Christmas. Song hugged her immediately when she approached her and the rest of the family.
"You did so good, honey! I'm so proud of you!" Song praised and Wolf thanked her shyly.
"Do you wanna say goodbye to your friends? I think I saw them walking outside", Kipo suggested, gesturing towards the exit if the assembly hall where several people were walking towards.
"Yeah. I'll be right back", Wolf excused herself before hurrying outside to catch her friends before they had the time to leave.
She found them by their lockers in the hallway. Their parents were talking to each other, waiting for their children to grab their stuff.
"Alex! Stitch! Boots!" she called out, recieving their attention as they waved back at her with big grins.
She ran up to them, hugging each of them for the last time for a couple of weeks. They would all be busy during the Christmas break and she wouldn't get to see them until they got back to school.
"I'll miss you all", Wolf admitted and her friends told her the same.
"It won't be as fun without you. But we'll see each other in a couple of week!" Stitch said and everyone agreed.
After one last goodbye, they parted ways and Wolf returned to her family who were still standing at the same spot where she left them. At the sight of her, they got ready to get back home where they would spend the rest of the day watching Christmas movies together in the livingroom.
Despite knowing that she wouldn't get to see her friends until school started again, Wolf didn't worry about not having fun during the break. Not when she had her family with her.
