Work Text:

“Blow out the lamp!” Jimin silently screeched. “LIKE NOW!”

Here is Park Jimin. Currently hiding in the shack that is used in the pack for multitude reasons, which he will not disclose, but mainly for snooping.

The blonde man was crouching against the wall, taking a peek through the window. He hears someone in the background blowing out that goddamn lamp, and finally he is met with darkness. The only light source was now the moonlight that tenderly kissed his cheeks. It’s currently winter and it recently snowed in their village, the air is still crisp and rather fresh as the foliage glistened in snow. It was his favorite time of the year, always chilling and the warmth you get from the fleece is incomparable . If only he was back in his den, surrounded by his fleece blankets. The only warmth was now radiating from the latter that was now crouching near him.

“What was the rush,” his friend, Namjoon, whispered near his ear. Namjoon is an alpha that is one of his peers in pack politics. Both have an amicable friendship but he is also the victim of Jimin’s plans. As usual. Jimin loves to say that Namjoon is gullible, for an alpha he can’t tell bluffs. Honestly, Jimin thinks it’s the alpha guilt that haunts Namjoon. The alpha peeked out the window as well trying to figure out why Jimin was like this, “who’s outside?”

“Shh,” he stressed. The omega noticed a familiar figure who’s walking towards the forest with a rather big basket strapped on his back. Odd. He never left this late at night, especially not for foraging. This was the very man who stressed foraging during the day is very beneficial, always waking up early so he can forage during the first dew. And it’s winter. There is no winter forage during the nights, no flowers that only bloom in the moonlight, nor they are not in the biome where the air is dry and hot that plants need to thrive at night. It’s winter, every life is rather dormant, waiting for spring.

“Oh,” Namjoon’s brows raised, “It’s Jungkook.” The alpha took another look being met with just the forest. Jungkook was long gone trekking through the snow for no apparent reason. Maybe he’s going crazy in this weather.

“Well obviously,” Jimin deadpanned. “He’s been weird lately.” The omega leaned against the wall, sighing.

“This is the nth time he left in the middle of the night.” Jimin furrowed his brow. “He usually tells me what he’s up to.” The omega stared at his hands that were folded one over the other, with bandages covering his fingers. He had tripped earlier while Jungkook and he were foraging before the snowfall hit, it ended up with the omega landing on the bonbukja bush and the thorns had scratched his fingers up. All because he was staring at the alpha a little too hard.

You see, Jimin and Jungkook were two peas in a pod. Attached to the hips since youth, inseperable. Jimin remembers the wee old pup he was when they were younger. Healer Jeon had found him alone wandering in the forest, packless and abandoned. The omega had barely passed 7 winters, watching the new pup hide behind the healer’s legs. The pup was peeking between the healer’s legs, watching him speak with Jimin’s father, the head hunter. Jimin had watched him intently as he rested on his father’s lap. He was peculiar about the new wolf.

As Jungkook was getting used to the new pack, Jimin couldn’t help but follow him around. SInce he was a pup, Jimin was rather shy but after meeting the new pup, he felt like he needed to be more outgoing, like he had to prove he was a nice kid. Even as they got older, they got used to each other’s presence and often got into trouble together with Jimin being the enabled one. It would be Jungkook giving him the idea and Jimin had no choice but to egg it on. You can say they, especially Jimin, were troublesome. Compared to Jungkook, he developed no shame. Jimin remained a rambunctious child through his adolescence. He always created some sort of scene by accident and he’d get a scolding or two (the omega still shudders at results of the egg incident, never to mention it, just imagine yolk everywhere). See, eventually Jimin became a headstrong, agile wolf who took on leadership positions easily. He loved to take initiative whenever there were youth hunter groups.

The pack and his familty thought he’d be presenting as an alpha, even himself. He had to be, his father is one and his mother was a beta who came from an alpha family. But he was a late bloomer, as his adolescence went by he became worried as there was no sign of presenting. Yet, he did not lose hope, he kept on training and training. And when it did, it hit him like a hog. Sweet grass and light floral scent, a flower that no one could detect.. His one and only ego death. His presentation led him to locking himself in his room for days. His planned life crumbled. Jimin thought he would become one of the hunters and guards, he was raised for it. Jimin felt the look of pity from others when they realized he was an omega. It meant other plans. Other expectations that Jimin needs to meet at a late age. Well, Jimin wanted to prove them wrong.

But, Jungkook was similar to him, presenting a little after Jimin. Shy and timid. Following the steps to becoming a healer similarly to his adoptive father. He was sensitive, rather passive, people thought he was bound to be an omega, maybe a beta. To everyone’s surprise, an alpha with the scent of oakmoss and bergamont. But he was not met with pity, instead he was met with pride, even trying to convince Jungkook to join the hunters. The alpha adamantly refused, since has been his adoptive father’s apprentice for years and sure that he will become the Head Healer.

Both were rather alienated from their sub-gender cohorts. Jimin didn’t exactly fit in with other omega, they were always critizied for being rather ill mannered. Since presenting, his father had stressed that the omega shouldn’t join the hunters, blabbering nonsense, and would rather have him do work that’s more suited for his omega. Jimin reluctantly agreed, since he saw the reactions of the alpha in the hunter’s group. Compared to Jungkook, most alphas thought lower than him due to his gentle and healing hands. But Jimin found comfort in Jungkook, when others’ would look down on them, they had each other. They did everything together. When Jungkook would forage, he’d invite Jimin along so he could hunt. That’s how they would spend most of their late adolescent years to early adulthood. Till they became more of age, they slowly integrated themselves into everyday life in their roles. They found other wolves that didn’t care about these stereotypes.
Jungkook had started spending more time in the infirmary since Healer Jeon is getting older and the alpha stressed that his father needs to rest. While Jimin has been finding his niche has a liaison between packs. Well, it does end with Jimin biting his tongue. Luckily, the omega is well versed among the pack politics that is not some bothersome. But they made time for each other.

Yet, Jimin feels Jungkook has been distant. Courting season is going to start, as usual the youngsters of the pack are in a frenzy. For Jimin, he usually deals with countless wolves attempting to court him which he manages to reject and even ignore. Finally making it past unmated at 27, he can say he’s out of the market. Maybe. Depends if there are some alphas who would try again. Then there was Jungkook, he rarely got courting offers but he politely rejected them. Jungkook never showed interest in this type of stuff. Until now.

Well, Jungkook never mentioned that he was planning to court someone. Jimin remembered how Jungkook would tease him that he’ll never tell the omega who he is interested until he is mates. Swearing secrecy because Jimin was rather nosy and meddlesome. Here we are, Jungkook has been secretive. Jimin knows for sure that he is hiding something from him. Jungkook has not invited Jimin to forage with him. The alpha goes days without talking to Jimin, before they would throw a fit if they didn’t see each for a day. Now he sees the alpha socializing voluntarily. Before, Jimin was the one who would do it for him. Too shy to order another round of booze? Jimin would order it. Someone served the alpha ripe persimmons (which he despised the texture of), Jimin will speak. Up for him. But this. This is very uncalled for. Jimin saw him speak with the botanist, Eunseo, animately about something. He saw him speak with the blacksmith, Yoongi, in which Jimin reminded himself to harass later on.

Does Jungkook have someone in mind? Are they in another pack which is why he is leaving at odd hours? He doesn’t smell like anyone else. Who has he been closer with lately? Jimin can rack this in his mind.

“I think he’s planning to court someone,,” Jimin frowned while he gazed at his hands and then the window. “And he’s not telling me. Which means it’s serious.” Jimin sighed.

Namjoon’s lips formed an “o” from the knowledge. The alpha has always been rather transparent with his expression, it did bring joy to Jimin.

“He’s been secretive, more than usual.” Jimin smiled, remembering how the raven haired man tends to be more shy with his feelings. When the younger used to harbor crushes during his youth, he would become quieter around the said person, and also around Jimin. “Which is why I need you!.”

“Me?”

“Yes!” Jimin said. He stands up from the floor brushing off the remaining dust. The omega turns to his friend, lending a hand out for him. The alpha squinted his eyes as he grabbed his hands, pulling himself out of the sitting position.

‘Why me,” he whined, “Why can’t you go?”

“He’s gonna recognize me!” Jimin stressed. “That alpha can tell me by his scent!”
One of Jimin’s fatal flaws is his scent. It’s distinctive, rather grassy and flower, easier to blend in spring. But, during this time of the year, he sticks out like a sore thumb. And Jungkook had familairzed his scent well enough that he can tell when Jimin is around. The omega thinks that the alpha may have a hunch that Jimin is nearby, he can easily deflect his location.

The blonde grabbed Namjoon by the shoulders, “You’re the perfect fit. You smell like pine trees! You can sleuth easily even with his sensitive nose”

Namjoon sighed, closing his eyes slowly.

“Fine.” He muttered. “You owe me.”

“I’ll let Tae know,” Jimin smiled. “If you get caught just mention you’re looking for a courting gift for Tae. Maybe you’ll get something out of Jungkook!”

Taehyung is actually Namjoon’s beloved from the other nearby pack, the Choi pack, that resides in the valley below their pack A beta, who is reminiscent of muddled strawberries and basil, tart and floral. Jimin likes to tell the alpha that Taehyung is just playing hard to get since the last courting season that ended with Taehyung rejecting him gleefully. Turns out the beta would like something much more extravagant to declare his love since he is an ornate being who loves to recieve. The beta is always adorned in jewerly and layered clothing that have a dramatic flair, as he is a seamtress. Lately, Namjoon has been thinking of a very extravagant gift that even Jimin is not allowed to know. Alphas and their secrecy. It’s not like he’s a snitch,

“Shut it. Just know I have things to ask you afterwards.” Namjoon grunted as he got up from the crouch position, and began jogging towards the woods. Jimin hopes that Namjoon comes back with rather insightful information. Maybe then Jimin will spill the beans for him that will elaborate what Taehyung really wants.

So Jimin waited. He waited and munched on some snacks that he stole during dinner. The moon had shifted positions yet there was no sign of Jungkook nor Namjoon. Eventually the snacks ran out and Jimin decided he should just sit. Maybe count some sheep while he waits, not letting his mind stray.

He needs to know so badly.

Jimin did not want their friendship to change over a courting. They were two peas in a pod, attached to the hip. He couldn’t let him go. With Jungkook acting a bit different, it left a bit of doubt in Jimin’s mind.He can bring it up, but if he does bring it up prematurely, he won’t even bother to court. Jimin just needs confirmation so at least he can meddle from a distance. Even if he is not courting, it’s just odd to hide himself that way from Jimin. There’s usually something wrong if he does.

The omega sat there, letting himself wallow into his thoughts instead of counting sheep - he only made it to 23. Eventually he did hear footsteps leading back to the shack where Jimin was hiding. The scent of pines followed the steps, confirming who is near. Jimin got up and walked towards Namjoon. Both in a mutual agreement to start walking back towards the town. The omega can only steal glances from his friend, waiting for him to just say it. Namjoon is avoiding eye contact, a bad sign.

“I think he is courting someone,” Namjoon blurted, “Or he is just getting a gift but courting season is around the corner.” The alpha assumed.

“No way!” Jimin gasped, feeling blood rush to his head, “What makes you say?”

“I saw him talking to some girl at the pack borders alongside the river,” Namjoon explained. The alpha reported that the raven haired man was talking to a western girl regarding a gift. The older one explained to Jimin how Jungkook was rather excited while talking to the girl, so it must be something special. Namjoon couldn’t get close enough to know what the details were. He assumed the girl was a merchant since he noticed an exchange occurred and the girl nodded once she got her pay.

“So a courting gift,” Jimin sighed, “He’s actually courting someone.”

“Not exactly,” Namjoon interrupts. The alpha is right, it’s not a confirmation but it does seem to be leaning towards a courting gift.

“Oh well, I’ll figure out who it is.” Jimin is determined enough to say.

“Well it’s a hunch,” Namjoon muttered, scratching the back of his head. “I would’ve gotten closer but that merchant was already noticing something.”

“But did Jungkook?”

“Nah.” Namjoon assured him, “But he looked excited.”

“You told me that already,” Jimin groaned.

“Now you owe me,” Namjoon gives him a hopeful look.

“What do you wanna know,” Jimin raised his brow. The omega was wondering what type of courting gift Namjoon would give to his intended. Taehyung always mentioned some jewelry.

“When are the traveling merchants coming,” Namjoon asked.

“We got notice that they should be arriving soon, in a week or so.”

“Great,” Namjoon smiled, “Get me discounted indigo.”

“Fine.”

Seeing how Namjoon is excited for the indigo only reminds him of what Jungkook may be feeling. The raven haired alpha is excited over something he got. If it was for himself then he would tell Jimin. But it isn’t which only raises questions. The omega rattled his brain for some leads. Well, that is for Jimin to investigate.

Jimin took a deep breath, inhaling the crisp air. Even though they are still in winter, it was a good time to practice his skills. Since presenting, his father refused to let him participate in hunts. Luckily, Jimin found a way around that, it’s called taking walks or foraging.

You see, Jimin did not exactly fit into the stereotypes that were placed into the pack and refused to change himself for it. The omega definitely knows that there are similar omegas who feel the same way. They feel the urge for adrenaline pumping through their veins instead of being advised to protect their bodies from harm. It was a sore subject between his father and him. Since youth Jimin thought he would become the head hunter, especially due to his good sense of hearing and agility. Only for that plan to dissipate due his presentation. All that is going to his younger brother. Here he was playing the liaison, something he’s not finding fulfillment but he's good at it. Time to time, Jimin makes sure he goes on his personal hunts, well it is usually with Jungkook. But, today, Jimin needed some alone time.

He has been rather overwhelmed since the courting season has started. Jungkook has not mentioned anything and is acting normal as usual. He is no longer leaving at weird times of the day and is back to his normal routine. Maybe he is not courting someone, since he would’ve seen some sort of announcement. Maybe it is a gift. But for what?

Sadly, this courting season is the same as before for Jimin. He thought he would be considered a hag. Since day one, he has been bombarded when he thought he would be off the hook due to his age. Apparently not with the gifts he has been getting. Not to mention the gifts are doused in random alpha musk that just over stimulates him so much that he had to go into the woods. He needs fresh air and maybe some game.

The omega draws the bow, bringing it closer to his face. His bow is angled towards the sky, he has been keeping an eye on the ducks migrating south. Right as he was going to shoot at the duck that was fluttering in the sky, the omega hears a snap of twigs from a distance. The blonde quickly turned around, aiming the arrow at the so-called empty woods. He lets go of the arrow, letting it shoot through and hearing a yelp at the end. Jimin smirked knowingly as he started running to the source of noise.

As he gets closer to the source, the omega scent’s sweetens at the familiar cloak that is near the tree. The scent of oakmoss and bergamot was strong and fresh, no hint of anger. A smile played on Jimin’s lips as he pulled down his hood.

“Jungkook!,” Jimin gleams, “what got you hooked to the tree?”

The omega stares at the man who is standing in front of the pine tree with his fur coat lightly dusted by snow that fell from the needles. The blonde lingers around him, eyeing at the arrow that struck the alpha’s coat, right at the shoulder. Not bad, Jimin thought.

“You almost hit me!” The alpha stressed yet there is no scent of anger emanating from him. Jimin pulls out the arrow from the tree and puts it back into his quiver that was hanging from his back. Jungkook detached himself from the tree and glaring at the shorter man. He pulled back his hood revealing his long, dark hair, Jungkook mentioned that he has been trying to grow out his hair, now it rests on his shoulder. Today, it was up in a half up in a ponytail that revealed his ears that are adored by silver earrings that lined his earlobe to his helix.

“Because you sneaked on me,” Jimin crossed his arms, rolling his eyes playfully, ‘Duh.”

“Yeah ‘duh’,” he mimicked Jimin's higher pitch voice. Jimin punched the younger one's shoulder muttering how that arrow should’ve landed elsewhere.

“You know, with your alpha tingly senses you would have dodged it,” Jimin raised his brow. Any other alpha would’ve noticed an arrow coming towards them, but not Jungkook, even if he is in tune with his wolf.

A small smile played on Jungkook’s lips, “Maybe I wanted to get caught.”

Jimin feels warmth rush to his ears.

“Yeah right, either way,” Jimin drawls, “What brings you here?”

“More like what brings you here? Usually you’re here with someone when hunting” Jungkook leaned down to pick up his basket. There were some flowers and fungi there, assorted in an organized manner. “And it’s winter time, time to look for crocus and snowdrops so I can make some concoctions or balms out of these. ”

“There was no one who wanted to go out today,” Jimin recalls. He asked Namjoon if he wanted to join, but the alpha was more distracted by making the perfect courting gift that Jimin is not allowed to peek at. As Namjoon said, Jimin is a blabber, and the blabee is his Taehyung.

“You could’ve asked me,”

“I thought you were busy, either way.” Jimin deflected. He knew it was Jungkook who liked to forage at this time, but he didn’t have the heart to ask. Usually it would be them two spending their time doing their respective tasks. But, maybe it is a good time for Jimin to distance himself. Maybe. It does not help that fate has other plans.

“Looks like you found that thingy as well,” Jimin pointed at that one fungi. They both began to walk, going towards Jimin's old spot by the frozen lake where he was eyeing those ducks. Hopefully they’re still there.

“Oh, that,” Jungkook looked down, “It’s wood ear or are you talking about witch’s butter, that one always looks a little funky. But they’re delish.” The alpha pointed at the yellowish-orange fungi that had a rather jelly translucency. Jimin felt his stomach turn, he never liked how it looked.

“To you,” Jimin huffed, remembering the one time he had gotten a bad cough. It ended up with Jungkook chasing Jimin across the infirmary to feed him the witch’s butter concoction he made for him. Jimin claimed if it was helpful it would’ve been called Goddess’s Butter not the damn witch of the west. But in the end he was straddled onto the floor by Jungkook. The alpha had forced him into swallowing said concoction, stating his cough will disappear after this. Turns out, it was bitter from the ginger. He still does not like how that thing looks.

Jungkook only smiled at that comment. Jimin kept to himself, feeling his cheeks warm now radiating to his ears. If only he bought his little hat today, he could’ve covered his face from Jungkook seeing how red they were by now. At least he can blame the sharp, cold air.

“No game today?” Jungkook broke the silence.

“No,” Jimin pouted, “I saw some ducks flying around earlier. You know, I was gonna get it till I heard some bunny running around.”

“Wonder who that was?” Jungkook smiled, “Did you catch it?”

“Yes,” Jimin elbowed the man, “he’s with me right now and I’m gonna take him home now.”

“At least I’m giving you good company.”

“No you’re a parasite,” Jimin squinted as a smile played on his lips.

“I’d like to say we have a symbiotic relationship.” Jungkook refuted.

“Yeah yeah ‘sure’ I need a duck,” Jimin huffed. They were at Jimin’s previous hunting spot by the lake. “You can look for whatever while I distract myself with this.”

Jungkook nodded, going his own way to forage nearby the lake. There is some foliage left uncovered from the snow, he sees little fungi here and there. But they will get buried eventually from the shift of the wind. More snow to come, the longer winter will be.

The omega looks up to the sky to search for any remaining ducks. He noticed there’s a couple left still making their way south. Jimin gets in position, eyeing the duck, angling his bow and arrow to the sky. And he shoots, watching the arrow rip through the sky and bringing the duck down to ground. It landed on the frozen lake. Jimin took a cautious step onto the frozen lake. The omega deemed it was safe, since he did not hear any initial cracks or instability.

“Be careful!,” Jimin hears Jungkook yell at him with a hint of concern from afar. The blonde omega turned to the alpha who was watching him. The omega smiled at the man, waving at him. The raven haired man waved back at him.

“You know I’ll be fine! Just keep watch!,” Jimin yelled back before he started running towards the game he caught. Luckily the lake feels stable enough. If only Jungkook was not here, he would’ve laid down on the lake and put his ear against the ice. Usually during this time, you should be able to hear the water singing under the ice, the currents of the lake and the sound bouncing off the air pockets. It’s rather therapeutic, sometimes Jimin can lay there for hours still his skin stings from the cold, to just listen to the water’s ode. But, he can feel Jungkook’s heavy gaze on the back of his neck, which means he needs to hurry it up. He doesn’t want the alpha to come over because he’s just being his doting self, trying to tug Jimin away. Jimin quickly grabs the duck, pulling out the arrow from the game, and then runs back to the edge of the lake where he sees Jungkook still watching him. This time, his basket is on the ground and Jungkook is standing with his arms crossed across his shoulders.

“See I made it,” Jimin smiles, holding up the duck he caught. It was a good size, he thought to himself. “And I brought this big fella.”

“Here give it to me,” Jungkook released one of his arms, his hand reaching out towards Jimin, “I’ll skin it for you.”

“You know what that means then,” Jimin’s smile got wider as he leaned closer to the alpha. The alpha was looking at him amusingly, with one brow raised. Making sure his scent is a bit sweeter than usual, it’s Jungkook’s soft spot. “You get to make your special duck recipe, with potatoes and blackberry jam I saw you preserve before the winter started.”

“Hmm,” Jungkook thought, as Jimin tilted his head towards the raven haired man. He’s making sure his own is visible, and fluttering his eyelashes. “It seems like you already made dinner plans without me.”

“Well I did catch you,” Jimin chirped, “Which means I’m taking you home tonight.”

“So?” Jimin asked hopefully. Jungkook kept his gaze on him, a smile dancing on his face. “Pretty please, we haven’t had dinner together since the last moon!”

“Well,” Jungkook mimicked, “You did catch me.”

Jimin nodded enthusiastically and clapped his hands together.

“Then I’m seeing you tonight, don’t forget the duck.” Jimin said happily. Jungkook laughed at his reaction.

“You care more about the duck than me,” The alpha says as he places the duck in his basket, resting it aside the foraged flowers and mushrooms.

“Oh shoot!" Jungkook yelped after he put the duck in his basket. “Speaking of birds, before I forget I made up something. Learned a new hobby, whittling wood whenever I can’t sleep.” The alpha was digging into his pocket, “I made this for you.”

“Really! Gimmie Gimmie,” Jimin pulled out his hands where Jungkook laid two figures on his palms. Jimin pulled his hands to his face, picking one of them up. It’s a bird, Jimin noticed how there are small details on the wooden bird. Jungkook artfully created organic carves to make out the feathers and the face of the bird. It actually turned out well.

“They are two birds, parrotbills” Jungkook states, pointing at the whittled beak. “It was a simple shape but I think they’re fine.”

“These are so CUTE!” Jimin gleamed, “Wait can you make more of these for me. You captured their cuteness and kept them so ROUND! Please give me more!!”

“Obviously I’d do it for you” Jungkook gave him another smile.

Jimin looked at the two birds in his hand. They would look cute on his window sill next to the herbs that Jungkook had helped him set up. His eyes wouldn’t leave the beady eyes of the birds. “Can you make matching ones for us?” Jimin asked, “It would be cute wouldn’t it!”

Jungkook only nodded, and his scent also agreed with him as bergamot emanated from him.

“Do you want me to make two wolves?”

Jimin shook his head in disagreement. “Maybe a duckling and rabbit. That would be cute.”

“I’ll try.”

“Pinky promise,” Jimin lifted his pinky.

“You’re getting closer to 30 moons and still childish,”

“It’s the purest form of a promise.” Jimin huffed, “Pinky or no pinky?”

Jungkook sighed, wrapping his pinky around Jimin’s, sealing his promise. “Also how did you know about the blackberry jam?”

Jimin finally got around to doing investigative work. Well, interrogating the blacksmith, Yoongi, a quiet beta who has a faint scent of citrus and sage. He is a close acquaintance of Jimin actually, he’s actually closer to Jungkook surprisingly. They both became friends over some shared interests and their introverted tendencies, recently it was Yoongi who introduced Jungkook to whittling wood. The beta was talented with his steady hands, creating some creative works when he did not have to deal with back duties. Jimin often visits the beta to get his knife back into shape or if he needs new arrows.

However, he was Jimin’s target today. What made Yoongi, Jimin’s first witness to interrogate, was the night of the winter solstice. He watched Yoongi and Jungkook at a distance discussing something behind the trees, away from the crowd. Not only that, they both were looking around as if they would get caught. But Jungkook had noticed Jimin lurking around the bush nearby. Cover blown. But Yoongi knew something and it was time to bother the man. This time he had his partner in crime, Taehyung, who’s staying till the end of courting season.

Jimin and Taehyung strolled into the forge where Yoongi was welding something in close detail. Once the beta looked up to see the duo, the man only squinted as he quickly put aside the said project. Odd. Well, interesting.

“Hey hyung!” Jimin said gleefully, watching the beta stare at him. “Whatca workin on?”

“Nothing,” Yoongi muttered. “Why are you here? Did you ruin your knife again from being too zealous?”

“Hey!.” Jimin huffed, “I actually do need to repair it.”

“Why don’t I make you a new one?”

“Well I couldn't let you do that,” Jimin laughed nervously.

The hunting knife that Jimin had was given by his father since his youth. He could’ve gotten a new one but he can never let go of it due to its sentimental value. Jimin knows it has been getting worse over the years. It didn’t help when Jimin did actually need to repair his knife after he noticed some rusting and dents from his earlier ventures.

“No let me,” Yoongi shook his head in disagreement, “It’ll reduce your visits all together.”

“I don’t wanna add more to your plate.”

“I have literally nothing going on.” The beta gave him a small smile.

“Fine,” Jimin pulls out his knife from his sheath. He tosses it over to Yoongi, who gratefully took it from his hand.

“If you’re worried about sentimentality, I’ll include the metal from this knife.”

“Either way,” Taehyung interrupted, his eyes on Yoongi who remains his unsuspecting self, “What project are you working on right now.”

“Just something for fun.”

“It has to be something,” Taehyung sauntered towards the counter where the beta was sitting behind, “It had you engrossed.”

“Just a small project for a friend,” He replied.

“Is it a friend we know?” Jimin asked innocently.

“Not really,” Yoongi raised his brow.

Then the door opens again, one of the hunters. The unbearable alpha, Seojun, as Jimin likes to call him.

“Oh Jimin,” The alpha smiled. Gross. “How ya doing.”

“Hello Seojun-ssi,” Jimin nodded, avoiding the man’s attempt at maintaining eye contact. “Just dropping by.”

Seojun was a rather meat headed alpha who reeked. He was one of the alphas who would pester Jimin on and on, since the omega had presented. He liked to press his buttons, often leading them to rumble across the ground. The alpha is one of the few that did look at him in pity.

The alpha strolls to the Yoongi who got up from his position to greet the alpha, remembering he’s here for an order. As Yoongi retrieves his order, he can feel the gaze from the alpha which does not help with the pheromones he’s releasing. The omega is glad that the betas can’t tell how much pheromones this man is pumping out.

“Do you need anything,” Jimin gritted his teeth as he forced a smile towards the alpha who kept his gaze.

“How's the courting season going for ya? Especially for that alpha”

Jimin squinted at the man.

“It’s none of your business,” Jimin asked. “And why do you care about Jungkook?”

“Wondering when he’s gonna court, maybe you’ll finally leave him alone.”

“What the fuck are you yapping about.” Jimin snapped. The omega feels his friend tug on the back of his elbow.

“When’s gonna court, you’ll be alone,” The alpha reiterated.

Jimin only sighed, turning towards the side of the shop, where the furnace was blazing. The omega walked towards the furnace, grabbing one of the tongs.

“If you’re gonna keep on yapping this will go right through you,” Jimin threatened the alpha.

“Jimi-” Taehyung tried to call out his name before the alpha opened his mouth again.

“What is that gonna do,” Seojun mocked, “It won’t do a dent on me.”

The omega rushed to the man, aiming the hot tongs towards him. However he was not able to swing at the man, since the beta grasped his wrist and started pulling him away.

“We’ll be seeing you later,” Taehyung smiled at the alpha, as he grabbed Jimin’s hands to let go of the tongs.

“I’m not DONE with you!!” Jimin yelled at him as the beta tugs him through the door.

“After all this,” Taehyung sighed, “Nothing came out. We don’t know if he’s courting someone”

“Well I think he is!” Jimin exasperated, “he has to!”

“You literally can ask him!”

“I DON’T WANT TO!”

“Jimin, why does Jungkook courting someone bother you so much?”

“What do you mean?” Jimin huffed. “It’s not bothering me”

“Jimin.” Taehyung deadpanned. “You almost skewered that alpha because Jungkook may court someone.”

“He wouldn’t shut it” Jimin rolled his eyes, “He kind of deserved it.”

“For hinting that it’s a courting gift.” Taehyung gave him the look. “You know Seojun is just trying to get a rise out of you.”

“And it worked,” Taehyung continued, the beta turned back to his little embroidery project. “You almost branded his ass.”

“If only. One day he’ll wake up to something up his-“”

“Shut it” Taehyung interrupted, “you can’t do anything.”

“Yes I can?” Jimin sneered, “I won against alphas before. So I can break his neck!”

“No you cannot,” his friend laughed.

“This is discrimination,” Jimin argued, “You never saw me during hunting season.”

“No you’re just a scaredy cat,” Taehyung teased, leading to a frustrated Jimin. The beta knows the omega isn’t a scaredy cat, he just wants to get a rise out of Jimin.

“Either way, Have you thought that you may like him more than just a friend? Like you’re so fixated on him courting because it’s not you.”

“Well obviously because he’s my best friend.” Jimin furrowed his brow, “Now why am I now part of this.

“I'm your best friend but you didn’t go through several crises over Namjoon courting me,” Taehyung shrugged, “Jimin, you’re the only one who cares about this. Jungkook does not even know about this alleged courting.”

“It’s different,” Jimin refuted.

“Yeah you don't romantically like me” Taehyung drags as he pulls the needle through the cloth. “You don’t wanna wank me. You don’t stare at me if my shirt is unbuttoned. Or you don’t linger around when I have to forage.”

“HEY!” Jimin interrupted, shutting the beta up. Taehyung only slouched back on his chair with a smirk on his face. The omega didn’t think his gaze was that noticeable. Yeah, Jimin likes to look at Jungkook from time to time, especially during the summer. But what can an omega do! If the goddess put someone like that infront of him like that, it’s only a blessing for his eyes.

“It's just different.” Jimin muttered, his cheeks still ablaze. “It’s so much more than that. We did everything together. We couldn't be separated. And Seojun saying those things.”

“Well, think about it then.” Taehyung squinted as he pushed some beads into his embroidery needle.

“How did you get here, "Jungkook looked at him with concern, as he palpitated Jimin’s bruises. The omega winces as the younger man presses onto his chest.

The raven haired man has been rather doting on Jimin since the omega stumbled in with a bloody nose in the middle of the day. The alpha was just doing his afternoon errands that include making balms and poultice in advance. Luckily Jimin came in time to get some fresh stuff.

“You see,” Jimin whispers in pain, “there was this boar. Boar wait actually , let’s call her Meongie, was giving rather ominous vibes.”

That was a lie.

Meongie was minding her own business taking a nap with her little ones. Jimin needed to prove something. Help his ego actually. He thought bringing a boar from the hunt would make Jungkook happy. Or at least get his attention. The alpha has been a little too invested in his mysterious project.

Little did he know that Meongie was strong, buff, passionate, and protective. Oh, he wanted to be her. She rammed into him like she made a dent in his heart. Yeah he got dragged around a bit after he was pushed to the tree. But he deserved it. Next time he’ll bring Meongie some food. He did not have the heart to have her become the game of the day. Jimin will try to befriend her, without bothering her children, even if she gives him some bruises.

“She won.” Jimin managed to say, as he winced again from the sharp pain in his back.

“Luckily she just rammed you into the trees,” Jungkook muttered, his brows furrowed. “No broken ribs or any signs of internal bleeding. Just bruising. But the nose. Did the boar hit you in the face?”

Jimin decided to ignore the question since he knows exactly how his bloody nose occurred. During his walk of shame, he did in fact fall onto his face.

“Can’t believe this is karma for not taking the bow,” Jimin sighs, as tries to curl up in the infirmary bed, since he feels rather chilly. Jungkook took this as a sign to get up, mentioning that he will get Jimin a blanket.

“What happened to your bow?”

“Nothing happened, I just had nothing to carry my arrows. My quiver needs some new weaves. Taehyungie stumbled on it after a little too many drinks from celebrating.”

“He’s still not over it.” Jungkook smiles, bringing a blanket over Jimin and gently tucking him in. The alpha was releasing comforting pheromones, they were more citrusy than usual. “Namjoon is just gleaming.”

Namjoon had finally given his final gift to Taehyung. From countless jewelry, fruits, and stoneware only to be met with Taehyung turning him down. However, this time, Namjoon did finally go out of the box. The alpha presented the beta with a sheen shawl dyed in indigo he had Jimin source a while ago. The alpha claimed he weaved the shawl himself, as seen in the irregularities and strays of thread at the end. It was a rather artful gift, especially with the beading the alpha had done. The beads glimmered in the light and they glimmered in Taehyung’s eyes. The beta had finally accepted the final courting gift. Since then, you can say they have been celebrating.

“Sadly we’ll be stuck with it,” Jimin snuggled into the blanket. It smelled fresh, recently washed and warmed. The omega peeks at the raven haired healer, “Can you make me that one tea I like?”

“Depends.” Jungkook leaned his head towards his shoulder, his wavy hair framed his face. “Last time you said you didn’t like my blends.”

“NO!” Jimin yelp.

The omega got up from the bed quickly, doubling over in pain realizing that he is still very much injured. Jimin crouched over himself, wheezing, “I love your blends. You know the way I like it. I just don’t like ginger.”

“Please,” Jimin muttered, “Give me the tea, the one I always like. ”

“Well your wish is my command,” Jungkook gives him a nod, taking a final look. “What’d ya think about Joon’s courting gift?”

Odd.

“It was cute,” Jimin muttered, “We never really knew what Taehyung wanted but it was something handmade. You can tell there’s love.”

“It’s thoughtful isn’t it,” Jungkook continued. Jimin hears the alpha stir the tea that he was brewing.

“Sometimes I feel envious of them,” Jimin sighed, curling into the bed, ignoring the aching pain that ebbs through his ribs. “To love someone like that.”

The alpha only hums as he brings a cup of tea to Jimin, waiting for him to continue. But Jimin couldn’t continue, worried it’ll reveal more than he’s comfortable with. Jungkook tapped his shoulder, encouraging to Jimin to get up. The omega gave him a small smile as he eyed the tea blend. It was a bright red tea.

“What’s in here?” Jimin asked, this isn’t the usual blend. Jimin took a quick sniff of the tea. It smells floral.

“You’ll like it,” Jungkook smiles, “First give it a try.”

The omega takes a small sip, only to be met with a slight tartness that was followed by a mild sweetness.

“It’s good!” Jimin chirped. “It’s kind of sour which I like.”

“It’s because I added some rosehips and hibiscus. And guess what?”
“What?”

“There’s ginger in it,” The alpha gave him a toothy smile. “And you can’t taste it since I masked it, since you throw a fit every time.”

Jimin couldn’t help but smile.

Maybe Jimin does like Jungkook.

Spring means new beginnings. With the snow finally melting, seeping itself into the soil germinate the seeds that harbor life. It means new blooms. To revitalize of what wilted and to plant new seeds, such as new relationships, fortune, and health.

In their pack, it was a time of celebration.

A celebration that winter has ended and spring is here. It meant that people come out wearing their best to invite the flora and bring their blessings. It was their excuse to get dolled up.

Like Jimin is getting dolled up right now. Deciding that tonight fesitivies required him to look more put together than usual. The omega decided to don into his white linen shirt with embroidered flora on the sleeves and a sage green bodice that his dear friend made for him. Jimin dabbed some rogue on his lips and his cheeks, and some coral pigment he had lying around on the outer corners of his eyes to make his eyes pop.

As he worked on his make up, his mind stayed for the possibilities of tonight. Among celebrating the new season and wishing for the blessings for a fruitful year. It was also the event where everyone tends to announce their courtship. Usually this is a fun time for Jimin and Jungkook, commenting on whether their hunches were correct. Jimin hoped his hunch wasn’t right. The blonde shook his head, reminding himself that he should have some fun. Who cares if his best friend may be courting someone. Well he does after realizing his warm feelings towards the latter.

Oh well.

Since there is a slight chill in the air that remains of winter, Jimin quickly grabbed some white fur gloves he had lying around. He hoped the fire would keep him warm. Then he’s off to tonight festival. Surprisingly, on his way out, he noticed a familiar figure waiting for him.

Jungkook.

Jungkook was waiting for him.

He least expected Jungkook to wait for him, especially for this year. Any other year, Jimin wouldn’t have been surprised. Jimin would’ve gleefully run to the other, tugging the other man along. But this year felt rather different. Aside from Jimin’s hunch for the supposed courting, or his slight tinge of jealousy. The new season is bringing a new set of feelings from Jimin. Jimin slowly walked towards the alpha who kept his gaze on him, feeling the warmth that radiates from his eyes as usual.

“Hi,” Jimin greeted the alpha, keeping his eyes on the alpha.

“You finally groomed yourself,” Jungkook greeted. Jimin furrowed his brows, slapping his friend on the chest. “I’m joking, you look like a doll.”

“I prefer the grooming comment,” Jimin crossed his arms against his chest, raising his chin towards the alpha, “And you look put together.”

“As I should for tonight's festivities.” Jungkook replies swiftly.

“Is it for someone?” Jimin asked teasingly as he uncrossed his arms and reached out to grasp Jungkook’s arm. “Last time I didn’t see this many earrings.” His eyes followed the glint of the silver metals that decorated his ears.

Jimin then locked their arms together and started the trek towards the festival grounds. This time the pack decided it should be by the lake, and it wasn’t too far from Jimin’s cabin.

“Maybe,” Jungkook whispers, avoiding Jimin’s gaze. The omega tilted his head to get a better look at the alpha. Pink dusted his cheeks slightly.

“Do I know them?” Jimin smiled, not trying to reveal his inner feelings. The wolf in him feels rather restless.

“You know them very well.” Jungkook replied shyly.

“Are you gonna make me guess?” Jimin whined, “I don’t like games like these!”

“Well, that’s the fun of it!,” Jungkook chuckled, “Also I’ll walk you home today but we’ll have to stop at my cabin, I need to get something.”

“Yeah yeah I know the routine,” Jimin unhooked his arm from the latter once they reached the lake. He sees that the festivities have started, and he quickly scours the grounds. Searching for a beta donned in an indigo shawl that should be shimmering in the light. “I’m gonna find Taehyung.”

The alpha nodded as Jimin started walking off. The omega weaved through the crowd looking for either Taehyung or his intended. On the way he grabbed a couple of drinks. Maybe he’ll need it. Eventually, Jimin did find Taehyung, who was conversing with some other packmates. The omega pulls him away from the group as he quickly mutters an apology.

“Hello to you, Jimin,” Taehyung greeted, stealing a drink away from Jimin. “I’m gonna take that.”

“Go for it,” Jimin sighed, “I’m gonna get more.”

After several drinks, Jimin couldn’t help but blurt it out. “Jungkook dressed up for someone. And he’s gonna make me GUESS!”

Taehyung nods, taking another sip of his drink. “Then what? Did you guess?”

“NO!” Jimin yelled, “Why would I guess that! You’re cruel to me!”

“He asked you!?”

“Well he said maybe.” Jimin muttered.

“Maybe? Jimin, you take things at face value with no doubt or an ounce of thought in your head.”

“What is that supposed to mean?”

“Just dense as honey.” Taehyung laughed, “Ah! Look who’s talking to Jungkook, that one pretty botanist!”

“Where!” Jimin snapped his head back and forth. Then his eyes landed on them. Jungkook was talking to the botanist. Eunseo, the one girl seemed to walk into Jungkook’s life. The one person who Jimin did not investigate. SHIT. The girl was talking to him animatedly, she was looking at him with big eyes.

“They must have a lot in common,” Taehyung states,

“Huh?”

“You know, the botanist and the healer. The two must like plants a lot and they work interchange-”

“Shut it,” Jimin growled, taking one more drink with him. He chugged it down quickly, “I’ll intervene.”

“Okay. Bye then!”

Jimin left his friend and rushed towards the two chatting it up across from the fire. It can’t be Eunseo, the one that Jungkook showed slight interest in. She’s a botanist that never really talked to him till recently. Jungkook never mentioned her too.

“What are you doing here Eunseo?” Jimin slurred. Oh the makgeolli hit. He should’ve known when he had drunk several bowls of it.

"Fight me!" Jimin yelled at Eunseo, the girl jumping from her position. “Wait my bad, not you, HIM.” His voice slightly waivered as he scowled at the beta then pointed at Jungkook. The girl’s eyes widen as she steps away from Jungkook. She whispered something into his ears, before she walked away, giving Jimin a slight nod

"Stop telling people to fight you, look at how small you are!" Jungkook dragged Jimin towards nearby seating. The alpha pulled Jimin onto the wooden stool. The omega slouched on the seat, resting his elbow on his thigh. His eyes narrowed towards the raven haired man.

“My height does not effect my ability to snap someone's fucking neck in 97 different ways!” Jimin sneered, “INCLUDING YOURS!" The blonde pointed at the man. Jungkook only smiled at the man, as he took a seat next to him.

Jungkook’s eyes brightened, "You can't even reach my neck.”

There was a shift in Jimin’s grassy scent which was much stronger, spicer than normal. Not as floral as it tends to be.

"Do you really want to test me now?! Because I see my footstool just a foot away from me! DO NOT MAKE ME USE IT!!!"

“The infirmary is not even here” Jungkook laughed, making sure his gaze never left the Jimin’s.

“I’ll run there!” Jimin slurred as he tried to stand up from his seat to prove to the alpha. The blonde was ready to get his step stool from the other side of the village. Oh. Everything is going in a circle. He expected himself to hit the floor but he was met with warmth and softness instead of the cold, hard, soil.

Jimin tilted his head up to meet the eyes of Jungkook who was looking down at him with a smile on his face. His mouth moving, most likely saying something witty. But Jimin had other thoughts, realizing that his face was resting between the alpha’s chest. Bless the Goddess. Warm tiddies instead of the cold floor that would’ve given him splinters. The omega can only dig deeper between his chest, snuggling between the crevice of his pectorals. Oh to have this everyday.

The omega lifted his head, only to be met with the gaze of the alpha. His doe eyes never left him. He felt rather frozen. People around them were moving alongside time, dancing in celebration.

Jimin snapped it out.

“Here, just take a seat here and let me get you some water,” Jungkook laughed as he got up from the ground. “Rest against the stool okay? I’ll be back.”

The alpha started walking towards the crowd. Jimin can’t let him do that. He’s gonna leave him. It’s bound to happen. But he can’t let go of someone who’s good to him. There’s no one else.

“Jungkook!” Jimin yelled. Jungkook stopped his tracks, looking at the omega with a brow raised. “I can’t let you court someone else.”

“W-what!?” Jungkook sputtered, his eyes widened. His scent slightly changed, it became more brighter, cirtusy.

“If you’re courting someone, I jus-” Jimin closed his eyes, “I just can’t let you do that.”

He opened one eye, noticing Jungkook was going to say something.

“Wait, don't talk!” Jimin shouted. He feels his cheeks get warmer. “It’s just. It’s just that y-you. Shit. I’m not good at this.”

Jimin sighed. He opened his eyes. Looking at the alpha with pouty lips. He rushed to the raven haired man. Grabbing him by the collar, pulling him close to his face. Maybe he’s gonna do this. Maybe. He can pull away. But he’s already here.

“I can’t let you go.” Jimin tugged him closer. The scent of oakmoss and bergamot has gotten stronger from the latter. He closed the distance between the two. Jimin pressed his plush lips against a pair of warm ones as he closed his eyes.

He pulled away from the peck.

“Please court me. Not some random person” Jimin muttered.

Jungkook only stared at him with wide eyes. His cheeks blushed red, his scent rather uncontrollable. His nose is filled with a strong essence of bergamot. The alpha stared at him, till he quickly turned around on his heel walking away towards the woods that will lead him towards the trail of Jungkook’s home. Jimin’s heart dropped just like his heart. His scent wilted.

“HELLO?!” Jimin yelled, following Jungkook. The alpha peeks over his shoulder for a tiny moment before he picks up the pace. In disbelief, Jimin also starts taking quick steps to reach the raven haired man, contemplating whether he should shift over this alpha. “You cannot be running away right now! FROM ME!”

From the slight shriek of the omega’s voice, Jungkook started sprinting away from him.

“JUNGKOOK!” Jimin yelled, deciding to run after him. One thing about Jimin, he does not mind the chase. The omega could not help but smile as he watches the figure ahead of him keep turning around to make sure Jimin is still following. This only pumps his blood.

Running behind Jungkook always reminded him of his childhood. Funny enough, Jungkook liked being chased from time to time whenever they used to play when they were younger. Eventually, they give each other a chase depending who’s in the mood. It’s how they would lead each other. Those runs would end up with one of them tumbling to the ground. Just like Jungkook would in a bit. Jimin needed to tackle him down to the ground. There’s nothing else to do. The omega realized that they were reaching the alpha’s home, the familiar site of his garden. Jimin could not let him reach that door. He speeds up, even though his calves are burning, he needs to make it. His eyes narrowed at the alpha’s waist, deciding this was the right moment to swoop in.

Jimin dives towards Jungkook, his arms wrapping around the alpha’s waist as he pulls him down. He can hear Jungkook yelp from gravity pulling them down and attempting to get out of his grasp. Jimin only tightened his grip. The omega expected to hit the ground first but landed on something much softer. Another win. No cold, wet, soil. Warm boobs. Snap out of it! SNAP!

The omega sat up, resting on his knees, staring daggers at the alpha. Jimin realized he was between Jungkook’s legs and were previously chest to chest. Jungkook looked rather disheveled, he got some weed into his hair. Jimin would pull it off and put his hair behind his ear but he has other plans.

“WHAT WAS THAT FOR!” Jimin dug his finger into his chest, making sure he scratched the man during his act. “YOU CANNOT JUST RUN? AFTER SOMEONE KISSED YOU!”

The omega punched him in the chest lightly. “ Especially your best friend…” Jimin whispered, looking down to his lap. He would rather get rejected than someone running away from him. It reminded him of the one wolf of the west who would go on a walk with his partners after spending his ruts and running away from them. Jimin knows that is something they do for fun, but in the context.

“Just wait here!” Jungkook yelped, his cheeks still bitten red. He quickly gets up and goes into his home. Jimin just sits on the floor. Unsure whether he should stay in position or sit like anormal person. Here he is, still sitting on his knees and letting his hands wrist on his thighs. He tried to ignore the wetness seeping through his pants, understanding that it was better to stay in this position since he wants his rear to be dry. He lets his fingers dance on his thighs to an old folk song Jimin would sing himself to calm down.

He hears the alpha finally rushing out of the door and sitting infront of Jimin. Jungkook grabs one of Jimin’s hands, flipping it so it faces palm side up, and doing the same with the other. He was rather gengle with him, he’s always gentle. Then the raven-haired man pushes something to his hands. An evergreen velvet bag. Jimin raised his brow, staring at Jungkook. Jungkook only tilted his head towards the bag. “Open it.” He muttered.

Jimin brings the velvet bag closer, taking a closer look. It was cute. With little details of flora and foliage. He tugs the minty ribbon that unravels the bag. He digs his hands and pulls something out. It was a bracelet. A silver bracelet linked by similar charms, an elongated coin shape with a mount of stone on top of each coin. They were frosted green stone with something else embedded. It was engraved and filled with white porcelain. The chunks of porcelain created several bell shapes.

“It’s for you.” Jungkook muttered, scratching the back of his head. Jimin inspected the bracelet, bringing it closer to his face. “The little white flowers you see are species of flowers found in the west. It’s called lily of the valley. Muguet. They’re tiny flowers with long leaves. It’s actually your scent. You always complained no one could point to what flower your scent was aside from the lemongrass. It wasn’t jasmine or rose. It’s this. I couldn’t bring it to you to show you but it’s you.”

“So I got this bracelet made for you, if I can’t bring the flower, so might as well immortalize it.”

“Wait.” Jimin muttered, tugging the bracelet to his chest, closer to his heart. A pout was forming on his lips. “This is for me?”

“Obviously” Jungkook gave him a soft smile.

“You like me,” His pout grows deeper as he stares at the bracelet. Those flowers are so dainty. They aren’t zealous like roses, not smothering like jasmine, or sickly sweet like honeysuckle. They’re like him.

“How big are they?” Jimin asked.

The alpha grabbed his other hand, unfolding it from the grasp Jimin held it in. His palm facing up.

“About this big,” Jungkook drags his finger across from the bottom of the palm of his hand to the tips of his finger. “Or they can grow tall like this.”

The alpha unfurls his hand, revealing his palm.

Jimin tilted his head to the side. “And the flowers.”

“They’re tiny,” pinching his fingers together. “Just like you.”

“Shut it,” Jimin threatened. The omega can feel his scent get sweeter. The so-called muguet as Jungkook described. Jimin couldn’t help but let his gaze flicker over the bracelet and then Jungkook. But then it hit him.

“You’re courting me,” Jimin further realizes. “You know the flower I smell like.”

“I just told you that,” Jungkook laughed. “Here, let me put it on you.”

“Oh sure,” Jimin let Jungkook take his bracelet from his hand. The alpha gently wrapped the bracelet around his bracelet.

“See, and you didn’t want me to court you” Jungkook gleamed.

“It didn’t help when you RAN AWAY from me,” Jimin sneered, tugging his hand back into his lap.

“You thought I wasn’t courting you!”

“I literally kissed you, and you ran,” Jimin raised his voice. The omega crossed his arm across his chest as he stared into the alpha’s eyes. “What happened to stopping the kiss and then romantically leading me to your place to give me a gift then kissing me again since we like each other so much..”

“It happened so quick” Jungkook tried to defend himself. “I had to prove to you that I’m courting you with a gift and not by word!”

Jimin only sighed, “Not sure I’ll accept the gift as a courting gift.”

“Why not?” Jungkook furrowed his brows.

“This is a “forgive me” gift from running away and letting me tackle you to the ground after I kissed you.”

“I thought you would like that,”

“No, you’re supposed to chase me,” Jimin states, “so, this is not a courting gift.”

“Then what you want as a courting gift, what about the birds I whittled,”

“You’re the one courting me so think of something”

“So you’re allowing me to court you”

“Don’t complicate it,” Jimin gets up from his spot. “And duh. Better work for it, next time I won’t be nice.”

“Can we announce that we’re courting, at least?” Jungkook looked up to him.

“No!” Jimin gasped, “The bracelet doesn’t count! It’s supercuteandidontthinkilltakeitoff type of cute.”

“Can I get a kiss at least,” Jungkook asked, pointing at his cheek.

“Next time if you impress me, I can’t have you run again.”

“You can’t put that against me.”

“And then he ran from me.” Jimin laughed. His friends all stared at him in disbelief with a disgruntled Jungkook next to him.

Since they finally announced to the pack that Jungkook was courting Jimin, the alpha has not left his side at all. Jimin did not mind it at all, he adored the attention he got. He loved getting doted on. Jungkook was there for him when he needed him. Like how Jimin picked a fight with one of the hunters over the game they caught and it resulted in Jungkook unraveling Jimin from the fight and carrying him from the waist.

Their dynamic hadn’t changed. They still were in the grooves of things, aside from the hush kisses and the lingering touches.

“You said you weren’t gonna tell them,” Jungkook whined.

“I can’t let rumors of the healer running away like that mescal wolf after his ruts!” Jimin argued, “I can’t let them connect that you may be a WHORE.”

“I’m not!” Jungkook wraps his arm across Jimin’s shoulders, “I don’t talk to other wolves.”

“But you’re a coward.”

“You can say that but I’m not promiscuous”

“You’re a prude. A haggard prude” Jimin sighed, closing his eyes to let them rest for a tiny bit. The omega pinches his nose bridge as he whines, “Haven’t shown a sliver of skin for your intended. Not an ankle, an elbow, or a chest.”

“Well you chose me in the end”

“Sadly,”
