Work Text:
Helen glanced across the church. She looked so pretty today. Her hair was curled special, and was that dress new? Mags turned her head and made eye contact. Helen looked away, cheeks flushing.
Frances peeked over to see what Helen was looking at but it was just the stupid Polpins again. She sighed - what did her sister see in those oafs?
Helen glanced over again; Mags was looking straight at her. She smiled at Helen before turning to the pastor, the very image of innocence. A warm feeling bubbled up in Helen’s chest. She couldn’t wait until the service ended.
