"You said you had business" Ten says licking his lips slowly, trying not to look desperate. "What businesses?"
"I never said I was in business, honey," Johnny replies in a calm voice, letting his dark brown eyes scan Ten's face. "I just said I take care of things."
"What things?" Ten replies almost automatically.
"Just stuff," Johnny replies, moving closer to Ten. "Now finish your dinner. I want to go to bed."
"I don't want to," Ten replies without moving at Johnny's command. "I'm full."
"I don't care, I said finish your dinner," Johnny orders, looking at his plate to grab a bite. "Eat."
"Are you going to tell me what those 'things’ you attend to are?" Ten insists.
"No" Johnny answers, ignoring Ten and taking a bite of meat to his mouth. "Eat."
Ten knew that Johnny was in business.
Things, as he called them. Things that weren't good. Things that Ten was afraid to know, but he needed to hear. He needed it because maybe, when he found out about the bad things that Johnny did, he would no longer feel the need to have him close, to love him.
