It's been a while now since our heroes Mario, Sonic and their friends woke up in their new world. A world where everything is now possible, where humans, Toads, animals and many others live together.
The gang decided to settle in one of the many new cities that had sprung up, and which had become the capital: Uniocity. It took some time before it was transformed into a prosperous place. Day by day, people are finding their homes, businesses are opening their doors, and life is finally taking off.
On this very special day, our heroes admire what is now their newly completed home. Large, modern yet warm, the bright white building gleams in the sunlight. Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Rosalina, Sonic, Tails, Amy, Knuckles, Rouge, Silver, Blaze, Vector, Espio and Charmy stand by the fountain in front of the entrance, admiring it with joy and excitement.
- Mario : Here it is...our new home.
- Peach: Oh, I love it ! And I think Rosalina does too !
- Rouge: It's gonna feel strange living all together at first...but I'm sure we'll soon get used to it.
- Silver: Of course we'll get used to it ! This house will be our home, our headquarters !
- Knuckles: Well...I still think "House of Heroes" sounds better. Natsuko had a good idea.
- Luigi: I've just got one question...why are there only Mario and Sonic statues on the fountain ?
Everyone immediately looks up to admire the fountain, decorated with two large statues of Mario and Sonic shaking hands. Some wonder why they aren't shown side by side, when they too are heroes. Clearly embarrassed by the question, Mario and Sonic look at each other with a grimace.
- Charmy: That's right ! Why aren't we there too ?
- Mario: Well, because...there wasn't enough money to put everyone in.
- Sonic: Yeah....uh...that's it, exactly. Well, shall we go in, guys ?
As if to ward off further questions, Mario and Sonic step forward and head for the front door of the house. Their friends look at each other before staring at them quizzically.
- Vector: I've got the slightest feeling we've been ripped off, guys...
- WHAAAAAAAA!!!
This is the reaction of our heroes as they open the door to their new home. They'd been looking forward to admiring it for days. And they're not disappointed.
- Amy: It's beautiful ! I love it !
- Blaze: Me too. It doesn't take long to feel at home.
Their eyes filled with stars, the heroes carefully observe every corner of the living room, the first room they discover, which reflects the exterior of the house: modern but warm. It's impossible not to notice the huge wooden table that dominates the space, seating around twenty people. The room is particularly bright, lit by the sun's rays streaming through large glass windows. At the far end, a luxurious sofa faces a large plasma screen. Without warning, Sonic runs to the sofa and slumps onto it with all his weight. From the look on his face, you'd think he was lying on a cloud.
- Sonic: Wait...this is a great sofa ! I could fall asleep on it !
- Mario: Don't you think a bed would be better for that ? You've got lots of them on the second floor waiting for us to throw ourselves on. Don't you want to check them out ?
- Sonic: Wow, there's even a massage function ! Sooooooooooo cooooooooooool !
Sonic is lulled to sleep by the pleasant whirlpool on the sofa, while Mario stares at him with a blasé expression. For their part, the girls discover the kitchen in the next room. It's so big, you'd almost think you were in a restaurant. Peach is grinning ear to ear as she imagines what she'll be able to cook with such equipment.
- Daisy: With a kitchen like this, we won't run out of imagination !
- Peach: You said it ! I can feel my creativity popping in my head like popcorn !
- Silver: That's all well and good, but it's a bit early to be thinking about dinner ! How about checking out the bedrooms ? I'd like to be able to put my things down at last...
- Sonic: FIRST !
Sonic immediately gets up from the sofa and heads upstairs like a rocket. Once again, his comrades are surprised, but also exhausted by his impatience.
- Luigi: Does he ever stop ?
- Tails: Never.
The whole gang lets out a light laugh, amused by Tails' answer. Then it's their turn to climb the stairs to the dormitory.
After climbing the stairs, the heroes discover a long, seemingly endless corridor, giving access to some twenty rooms. Among the doors, only one is wide open. Moving towards it, they find Sonic inside, lying relaxed on his bed. Clearly, the hedgehog has already made his choice.
- Sonic: First come, first served ! This is my room ! It's the best of all !
- Vector: You know they're all the same, right ?
- Sonic: Maybe, but I've got a good feeling about this one. So I'm sticking with it !
- Mario : Incorrigible...well, let's choose our rooms too.
The gang leave Sonic to wander around his new room and continue down the corridor. They all split up to go in search of the room that will make them happy. They watch carefully, even though, as Vector says, all the rooms are similar. But in the end, each of them feels something, a feeling that allows them, too, to say "This is the one, and not another."
Once settled in, the heroes can't help but explore the rest of the house. The tour never seems to end, so immense is the house. They discover rooms they could never have imagined, even in their wildest dreams. But this is reality.
This is their home. Their home. The House of Heroes.
Later that day, the gang gather in the living room, having explored the house. They haven't yet searched it from top to bottom, but are already impressed by what they've discovered.
- Espio: Well...I think we've covered everything.
- Yoshi: Yoshi ! Yoshi ! (I didn't expect the house to be so big !)
- Blaze: Indeed. A workshop, a music room, a dance hall, an observatory...that's what we call extras.
- Silver: And you don't even know what's in the basement ! Hot springs !
- Amy: Hot...springs ?!
- Silver: Yep. One side for girls, one side for boys. Now that's what I really call extra.
- Rouge: Um...you tempted me too much. Who's coming with me ?
- Charmy: Yeah ! I wanna take a hot bath too ! ♪
- Mario: Hold on. Didn't you forget something ?
- Charmy: Uh...maybe. ♪
Still grinning innocently, Charmy scratches his head in embarrassment, as his two partners Vector and Espio look on in despair. As Mario prepares to elaborate, Peach finally does it for him.
- Peach: We've got to visit Mrs. Nasakawa and Dr. Toadaka in their new laboratory, remember ?
- Tails: Apparently, they wanted to show us their latest reports on the discoveries of our new world. I'm sure we'll learn a lot of interesting things !
- Charmy: Boring ! Can't I stay here ?
- Vector: Charmy, it's thanks to them that we've managed to merge our worlds. And that we now live in this house. So we're ALL going.
- Knuckles: Yeah...thanks to them and their crazy plan...
- Espio: It's important that we learn to understand the new world we're living in. Everything can be different from what we once knew.
- Sonic: That's fine by me ! New world, new adventures ! And it'll be all the more fun because we're all together now !
- Rouge: Well, I guess you’re right. The bath can wait, so...
- Daisy: Don't worry, Rouge ! I'll be the first one in the water when we get back !
- Mario : Talk about it when we get back, girls. Let's go, we've got a long walk back to the town center.
Without wasting any more time, the heroes leave their new home, not without a certain twinge of regret. They would have liked to stay a little longer. But they're also curious to know what the scientists have to tell them. After taking a last look at their home, the gang walk straight ahead to where a new city has recently sprung up. A new city that is also a part of their home. Uniocity.
