Notes:

this is just me sharing headcanons in a fanfic format lol

Work Text:

Greetings, to you who reads this letter.

My name is Geeta Sagita, although you may know me as La Primera, Rika has told me that they trust you enough that you can be their caregiver in any situation where I am not present and they enter in their little space.

I decided to write you this letter because, as their main caregiver, I know some things that could be useful to you when you have to take care of them, I will explain everything in detail but if you have any kind of question, do not hesitate to contact Rika or me to resolve it.

—Little Space.

When Rika regresses, their mental age is very small, their "oldest" age is around two years, but normally their little space is around three and eleven months, it depends on how they feel that day.

This means that they will depend a lot on you in this state, not only that, but you will have to guess what they want.

Nothing to worry about, Rika will let you know when they want something, not with fully formed words, but with certain actions.

-If they babble at you and point to their Clodsire plushie mouth, that means they are hungry.

-If they show you the tail of their Clodsire plushie, it is quite likely that they have had an accident.

-If they show you their stuffed Clodsire completely, it means they want you to play with them.

-If they lay their stuffed Clodsire on the floor, it means they want to sleep.

Please pay close attention to what they do with their stuffed Clodsire, that can tell you many things, for now I will move on to the next point.

—Important objects.

Rika has certain objects that you should under no circumstances remove or replace, if you do so you will scare them or cause them stress.

These objects are their Wooper bottle, their Phanpy pacifier, their Numel bowl, their Barboch spoon and their Clodsire plushie.

When feeding them milk, only use the Wooper bottle, I know it looks a little old, but if you try to use anything else to give them milk, they will reject it and start crying.

If you are going to give them baby food, use the Numel bowl and the Barboch spoon, likewise do not try to use anything else to feed them.

Their Phanpy pacifier follows the same logic.

And finally, their Clodsire plushie is very important to them, it is their comfort object, do not take it away from them for any reason.

They can play with other stuffed pokemon—they have a large collection of Ground-type Pokémon—but their stuffed Clodsire is one of their most precious treasures, i will repeat myself in this, please do not take it away from them.

-Feeding.

Rika is a very picky baby, although their diet is limited to bottles and baby food for obvious reasons, there are still certain rules that you must follow.

-Only Moomo milk in the case of bottles.

-You must heat it for five minutes, no more and no less, not even they know why they are so specific about this. Still, please respect the time.

-As for baby food, their favorites are oran and pecha berries, but there are other berries that you could use if you wish, such as Kelpsy, Razz, Iapapa, etc.

However, what you should worry about is the texture of the food, try not to leave too large remains, also peel the berries, Rika hate the texture of the skin.

Add a little moomo milk to the berry mixture, that will give it the texture they like, but don't add too much, that will bother them.

I told you they were picky.

-Games

This one is easy, they love to color, I have a few coloring books at the nursery, plus several crayons, you should not have a problem with that.

Now, give them their pacifier when they are coloring, that will prevent them from biting the crayons and getting sick from eating something they shouldn't.

If they don't want to do that, they will most likely want to play with their stuffed pokemon, as I said, they have a large collection of ground type pokemon plushies, besides their Clodsire, their favorites are their Trapinch, their Torterra, their Phanpy and their Digglet , but if they want another one they will let you know.

They only like to play with things related to Ground type Pokémon, if you bring a stuffed pokemon or a game with a Pokémon that is not Ground type, they will reject it.

There will be days when they want to play outside, and you should know, they LOVE playing outside, getting dirty, playing in the mud, etc. It is not easy to take them to take a shower but in the next point I will talk about how to calm them down if they are upset.

—Tantrums.

It is not the word I use to describe when they are upset, but maybe that way you will understand me better.

Thanks to Arceus, Rika doesn't throw too many "tantrums", although maybe that's because I already know them and am familiar with their routine, maybe it will different for you the first times.

What works for me is to hug them and whisper nice things to them, now, if that doesn't work, the best thing you can do is distract them with a game or a stuffed pokemon. I recommend the Clodsire toy that has a jingly rattle inside, just don't ring it too loudly, that will only be counterproductive and will make them cry even more.

The worst thing you could do is yell at them, most of their "tantrums" are caused by stress, a break in their routine or feeling overstimulated, yelling at them will only make the situation worse.

Remember, they have the mentality of a baby, in that state they do not understand what they are doing, punishing them will do nothing but stress them out.

Oh, and if I find out that you used physical force to stop a "tantrum", I will not be nice to you, remember that I am not only their caregiver when they are in their little space, I'm also their wife outside of it.

—Accidents.

If they have an accident, take them to the nursery and place them on the changing table, diapers and clean clothes are in the closet.

The important thing here is that when you leave them on the changing table, before you go to get what you need, you must distract them. They don't like to be left alone, so leaving them too abruptly is something you should avoid.

Do not worry, there is a small mobile with Clodsire figures, direct their attention to that and it should be fine.

—Extra notes

-If they want to play with their Pokémon, please keep an eye on them, their Pokémon love them, but sometimes they can be very wild.

-Their favorite pajamas are the one that have Wooper drawings on them, but you can use any of the ones that are in the closet.

-Do not give them their Smartrotom, they will not ask for it, but I am telling you this just in case.

-They actually like the darkness, they find it relaxing, although don't leave them alone in the dark.

-Please use nicknames that are gender neutral, their favorite nickname is precious.

-They will love if you baby talk to them

That should be all that is necessary, I know the letter is a bit long, but I really care about them and want them to be as comfortable as they can.

But if Rika trusts you, I will too, I thank you for your attention and for how much you care about Rika.

Sincerely. Geeta Sagita.
