It was already halfway through her 5th training session of the day when Lily finally felt her legs collapsing from tiredness, and her arms aching from fighting. She glanced outside to her home, the Fright Zone, looking up at the endless starless sky. She was interrupted by her best friend,
Mary jabbing at her right in the stomach, with a laugh, “You lose Lily, I hit you!”
Lily laughed “Aww c’mon that’s not fair Mary! I said I had finished training ages ago, I was distracted.”
Mary replied with a grin, “doesn’t matter Lily, we’re tied now 2,342 to 2,342! Now I’m sure I’ll beat you!”
Lily sighed at what Mary said, since she was always extra enthusiastic. she turned to glance at Mary and found her jumping up on one of the poles, she giggled and thought ‘once a cat always a cat’. Lily felt the tiredness getting to her, so she said bye to Mary quickly and went to go take a shower. On her way she found herself thinking of when she would finally get out in the field, with her team, with Mary. She finally reached the showers and undressed, turning on the scalding hot water, and felt it dripping from her hair, cascading down her body, relaxing her, and taking the tiredness away.
After finishing her shower, she decided to go find one of her friends and training mates, Alice. Walking to the main area, Lily was surprised she hadn’t seen Mary yet, as the girl usually followed her around, but Lily brushed the thought off and continued looking for Alice. Lily quickly scanned the main area to find Alice, but instead found her girlfriend Narcissa standing around.
Lily went up to Narcissa asking her “Hey Narcissa! Did you get promoted to force captain yet?”
Narcissa replied with a hint of sadness in her voice “Hey Lils! Sadly, I didn’t but hopefully next time, since I’ve been training really hard. And if it’s not you it’s me, we know that well enough”
“Oh Narcissa, that sucks, I know how hard you’ve been working, but now we’re just waiting on Snape to see if I get promoted. One of the two of us needs to be to get our team on the field. Also I was wondering, do you happen to know where Alice is? I’ve been looking for her for ages.”
“Oh yeah! She’s supposed to be in the training room right now, training with Frank I’m pretty sure, but she could be with anyone right now since I last saw her an hour ago.”
“Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it. Bye.” Lily quickly left to go back to the training rooms, almost running on her way there to find her friend.
When Lily entered the training rooms, she couldn’t find Alice, she scanned around the massive room, seeing the activities set up and the disgusting coloured wall, but no Alice yet. Looking around once more, Lily found her in the corner of the room, just behind one of the punching bags, talking to Mary. Lily slowly went up to them, with the intention of hitting Mary and gaining back her win, but she had forgotten about Mary’s cat ears. As Lily was about to trip Mary over, Mary turned around and jumped just in time. ‘Aw, c’mon’ Lily thought, knowing she lost her chance to regain her place on top for a while. She decided to just brush it off saying hi to Alice.
Alice replied happily to her “Hey Lils! How’s training been going? Has Snape talked to you yet?”
“Training’s been going ok, but Mary refuses to let me train with anyone else. Actually, Snape still hasn’t talked to me, but I’m assuming he will soon.”
Mary interrupted their conversation with very insightful information
“Hey you guys, Snape's on their way. Let’s pretend we’re actually doing something, because I don’t wanna get in trouble today.”
Lily decided to pretend she was training, walking to one of the punching bags. On her way there Lily saw that Snape was walking towards her, but she thought nothing of it, hoping that she wasn’t in trouble or that Evan needed a favour from her again. The last favour had made Bellatrix furious, and she took her anger out on Mary. Lily kept pretending to practice her punching until Snape finally came up to her, and didn’t pass by her.
Now usually it is required to greet Snape or Bellatrix properly when in their presence, but Lily was just a little bit pissed off, so she didn’t greet Snape at all, which led to him coming up to her and saying “You must greet me properly Lily. Now,” in his raspy voice. Of course, thinking of what Snape could’ve prevented happening to Mary,
Lily replied saying in the most sarcastic voice ever “Oh hello Snape, second to Bellatrix, how are you today?”
Snape didn’t catch on to her quite obvious sarcasm in the sentence and he replied, “Quite well Lily, though I do need to discuss something with you, so please follow me.”
He started walking, and Lily following close behind thought to herself ‘Oh, I’m in big trouble. I hope nothing too bad happens.’ When they reached Snape's little headquarters on the other side of the building Lily was practically ready to die, and just as Snape was about to speak Lily interrupted, “I’m extremely sorry for whatever I have done Sir, please forgive me for my errors, and give me another chance.”
He laughed replying “You’re not in trouble Lily, quite the opposite in fact. You have an opportunity to become the newest Force Captain.”
“Really? Thank you so much Snape.” Lily said relieved that nothing bad would happen to her or her team, especially Mary.
“Don’t thank me, thank Bellatrix for allowing me to give you this opportunity, she is the only reason you and your team will get to fight the princesses out of the fright zone. Anyways, you have one opportunity to prove me right, and that will be a proper training battle, just like real life situations of battles in the Whispering Woods you will fight against our highest combat robots with your team, Mary, Narcissa, Evan and Alice. Though there isn’t a chance they all manage to get promoted to leave the Fright Zone yet.”
Lily interrupted quickly, “What do you mean won’t be able to come with me? As a Force Captain I should be able to take my whole team with me. Are you concerned that they may jeopardize any missions? Because sir, I’m assured they won’t. I’m working with the best of the best here in the Fright Zone and they all deserve to have a chance out in the field, with all due respect Sir.”
Snape scoffed harshly “I don’t think that is your decision Lily, and quite frankly some people in your team do not deserve this privilege of leaving the Fright Zone, especially Mary and Alice, on the other hand, Evan and Narcissa are quite talented, so they are probably going to be joining you in your future missions. I believe that Narcissa was the second option of Force Captain actually.”
“Yes she was Snape,” Lily exclaimed harshly, “and it was a great opportunity for her, but I know that Mary and Alice are good enough for the field. They have constantly worked for this, and are as good as me and Narcissa.
“Whatever the reason is Lily, they will not jeopardize your future as Force Captain,” Snape jabbed his finger where the Force Captain badge could be, then continued “I know what is best for you Lily, trust me, and trust Bellatrix on this as well. We do our best to fight against the princesses and save Etheria. Now I will have you do the Force Captain test tomorrow with the rest of your team, and then Bellatrix and I will decide what happens to you and your team.”
Lily didn’t quite feel satisfied with the information that Snape had given her, knowing that he was keeping a lot of important information from her, but she couldn’t get him to give her anymore information, so Lily kept quiet.
When he had finished talking, he walked Lily towards where she and her team would be tested, and then permitted her to leave. The second Lily was out of Snape's sight, she sighed heavily and slouched. While this was an amazing opportunity for her and her team, Lily wasn’t certain on what the outcome would be, since in Bellatrix's books, Lily and her team were only favoured due to Narcissa, her sister, and even then it was barely. Lily’s team was an odd bunch of people, and due to that, they all had different skills and abilities. Bellatrix had always despised Mary & Alice, and even Lily occasionally. Their team was only allowed to continue training due to Evan's efforts to win over Bellatrix.
Lily was walking to training room #2, sending a short message to her team to join her there because of this newfound opportunity.
