Yes, Midoriya knew the man in front of him was one of the most wanted supervillains in the country.
But… His quirk was so interesting!
After begging Aizawa to see Twice ever since the villain was captured, he had finally scored a meeting with him! Of course, he would have to ride all the way to Tatarus in the black van the commission sent, but.. It was still great!
He didn’t truthfully know how Aizawa managed to get him an interview. As he shifted uncomfortably in his seat, he hoped that there was no ulterior motive here. He knew the commission was a little bit… villainous, at times?
The van stopped. The people in the black suits led him into the building. It felt cold, and not just temperature wise. It was almost empty, other than the stone-faced receptionist who demanded his hero license.
He shakily handed it over. The receptionist checked it over quickly and printed out a bracelet. It reminded him of amusement parks. Until, the bracelet snapped on his wrist. It felt like velcro.
“Thank you..?” Midoriya said. He was brought into the elevator, and brought down, down, down…
They had to stop on a few floors before they made it to the lowest one. As they walked the halls to the next elevator, Midoriya noticed something. The muffled screams, prayers, and begging became quieter and less frequent as they descended. When they finally reached their destination, the halls were silent other than the soft mechanical whirring of all the doors and elevators.
They led him into a room. There was another door, and no windows. They swiped a card and typed in numbers that not even his brain could compute fast enough. The men in black gestured for him to enter.
“You get 30 minutes. Press the red button if #31510 begins acting up.” Said the one with the shark head. The other man nodded.
They shut the door behind him as soon as he entered. Midoriya slowly approached the glass. It appeared to be a one way panel, with a small microphone. But what was more startling was the man behind it..
His blonde hair was longer than what the older files showed it as. He was generally disheveled, with his normal stubble turned into a heavier one. His blue eyes were unfocused, like he was disassociating. And.. the long scar on his forehead, it seemed infected. Gross.
“..Twice?”
He looked up. Straight at him.
“...A visitor? No crap, sherlock! Who are you? I haven’t heard that name in a while. You aren’t my normal.. That’s a child. ”
“I’m here to interview you. Your quirk is very interesting.”
“...mmm… That’s all anyone cares about, isn’t it? Don’t dump your life story, this is a literal child. ”
“Well, no. I want to know your life story too!” Izuku smiled, before realizing the man couldn’t see him. “Aizawa gave me permission, so I wanna know about you!”
“Huh. You’re an interesting kid, ain’t ya? What’s your name?”
“Izuku Midoriya. I’m a student at UA!”
The man’s reaction was delayed. Even though the room was soundproof, Izuku could tell that the audio of his speaking was delayed. His words must be going through some kind of filter. He supposed that was smart.
“Nice name, kid. AIn’t you worried that we’re gonna clone you with it? ” He seemed to chuckle to himself, before slamming his head into the chair. “..shaddup…”
Izuku had barely gotten into the interview, and he was learning more about this man than any of the files had told him.
“Now..”
He decided to speedrun these questions. He had to get as much info as possible. Every question asked was a note in his notebook.
“What’s your relationship with your parents?”
“It was a good one. They died. ”
“How does your quirk work?”
“Simple. I get measurements of a thing or a person, and I can clone em’. The more info the better.”
“Why do you contradict yourself all the time?
“Mental issue. They’re-” He moves his eye towards the door. “Trying to diagnose me. They can’t get us in control if they tried! ”
“How’d you get your mental.. Issue?”
“I-I..” He seemed to wriggle in his seat. He was too restrained to do much, but he looked like he was about to try. “They-Me-We tried to kill me. I don’t know if I’m the real deal. Who cares, we’re gonna rot here anyway. Shut up!”
Izuku flinched as the man’s head began banging on his chair again. This had gone too far. That was probably why his scar was infected. It was scary.
“Get them out of my head! Make them leave! We ain’t ever leaving you, you big baby! ”
He jumped up from his chair in fright, accidentally bumping into the wall. His elbow hit the button, and the doors opened swiftly.
The men in black suits were much too calm for this. They typed a code into the panel as Twice continued to hit his head. Izuku saw the small syringe inject itself into Twice’s neck. The man went limp.
He was quickly escorted out. He saw the shark man stay behind and input more codes into Twice’s cell.
Midoriya didn’t want to think about what would happen to the villain.
