“Is there some kind of special occasion today?”
Yuder asked as he glanced at the table filled with food and beverage. Different kinds of cake and cookies were placed on the table, a few savoury dishes were placed in the middle but the most eye-catching item was probably the number of wine bottles both on the table and beside it.
The glass bottles filled with clear yellow liquid were all sealed. At first glance, they looked the same, however when looking a little more attentively, the colour of the wine was actually different in each bottle.
The two bottles on the table were a light shade of yellow, clearly of great quality. The ones placed beside the table and on the floor were divided in two colours, one gold while the other close to amber.
“No but we don't need to have a special occasion to share a nice meal, do we?”
The man sitting opposite Yuder said as he picked up the wine glass in front of him. Kishiar leaned back on his chair, blonde hair swaying slightly as red eyes glimmered brightly. The first few buttons of his shirt were undone, placing the toned chest on display.
A faint heat creeped up his neck as Yuder shifted his eyes away from Kishiar and looked down at his own platter that was filled with different types of light cuisine. The sound of a faint laugh penetrated his ears.
“Well to be honest, I just wanted to share a drink with you. All of these are gifts I have received over the years yet haven't had a chance to taste them yet.”
Kishiar hummed as he reached for the wine bottle.
“And what better way to savour such delicacy than in the company of my most dearest assistant?”
The blonde man peeled the capsule off of the neck and unscrewed the cap. Yuder watched as Kishiar tilted the wine bottle and poured the lemon coloured liquid into the glass.
“Shall we?”
Kishiar extended the glass towards him, his eyebrows raised in anticipation. Yuder glanced at the swirling liquid that glimmered under the dim lighting then at Kishiar's spinel-like eyes.
“If that's what you want “ Yuder replied with a sigh and took the glass from Kishiar before quietly adding a few more words “However I didn't get intoxicated easily.”
“Neither do I.”
Yuder nodded as he brought the rim of the glass to his lips, a burst of sweet and citrusy flavour spread on his tongue as he took his first sip. A fine taste indeed, though Yuder didn't understand the appeal of it.
Kishiar followed in tune and grabbed the second glass and poured himself a drink as well.
“Shall we test our limits today?”
———
“Commander, you should stop now.”
“No, I can handle more.”
“You cannot even sit straight up, please put the glass down.”
The black haired man demanded as he watched Kishiar wobble in his seat. The blonde's complexion bore a flushed look. Blush surpassed his neck and climbed uptown his ears, giving him a rather provocative image. But Yuder couldn't care less about how Kishiar looked in the current situation.
“Commander.”
“Hmm…”
The older man simply dismissed the call as he brought the glass half filled with an amber liquid to his lips. Yuder's face twisted with worry as he watched Kishiar sip on his nth glass of wine.
The once brimming table was now mostly empty and instead of two empty wine bottles, there were as many as five.
It was a mistake to do this. Yuder wouldn't have gotten drunk no matter how much he consumed. However Kishiar insisted on continuing even though he knew about it. After an unknown number of turns and countless refills, he had finally started getting tipsy, even so, he didn't stop.
Eventually, he completely stopped responding to Yuder in full sentence.
“Cough…cough!”
“...!”
Yuder jumped off of his seat and quickly walked towards Kishiar, who was coughing. He quickly confiscated the wine glass that Kishiar was holding.
“Why…are you burning up right now? Commander, your face is completely re-”
Yuder blinked as a pair of arms snaked around his waist and pulled him on Kishiar's lap. The flush on Kishiar's face seemed even more deeper now that Yuder was seeing it up close.
Hot breath fell on his neck as Kishiar leaned towards Yuder, sending a shiver down the younger man's spine. Unsure about what to do, Yuder summoned the wind and used it to place the glass on the cluttered table.
“You smell nice.”
A raspy voice whispered into his ear as Kishiar rubbed his nose all over his neck and Yuder almost jumped away in surprise, only for the arm encasing his waist to tighten its hold.
Kishiar's skin against his felt scrothling hot yet warm at the same time. Soft blonde strands brush against Yuder's chin, sending a tickling sensation running through his body.
“My assistant is so adorable, I didn't know what to do about it.”
Kishiar pressed his lips on the side of Yuder's neck and began tracing short kisses all around, they were light and short, like a small bird pecking.
“Sometimes, It doesn't feel real. Whenever I see you, I feel so happy that I can call you mine. I feel pride knowing my assistant chose me out of so many others. But I also can't help but worry about those who also see what I see in you.”
The kisses moved from the side of the neck to his clothed shoulders.
“I'm not really fond of the second Prince of Nelarn. The way he looks at you, talks to you, it makes me envious to know that so many others want you by their side.”
Kishiar spoke in a monotonous and mischievous way. It was hard to pinpoint which part he actually meant and which were simply drunken blabber. Still, Yuder felt the need to clarify something.
“...The commander is the only one whose orders I take.”
“I know.”
The lips moved up to Yuder's adam's apple, Kishiar parted his mouth and delicately sucked the area.
“Are you aware of the countless eyes that follow you everytime you are by my side? I have received such a gaze from my childhood, yet when I see others look at you that way, with a desire to attain, I cannot help but be angry.”
Kishiar pulled away from Yuder's neck. Hazy red eyes stared into Yuder's dark ones. The commander slowly untangled one of his arms from Yuder's waist and moved it up in order to hold Yuder's cold cheek, spreading warmth to it.
The flush on Kishiar's face kept on becoming more and more vibrant.
“I never thought I could love someone, yet you came and recklessly took my heart away. The heart which I thought would stop beating two years ago now beats for two instead.”
Kishiar slumped back on his chair as he let go of his grip around Yuder's waist, his burning palm still on Yuder's cheek.
“In this short period of time, you became an undeniably important piece of my life. So important that I do not know what I will do if I lose you.”
Kishiar's lips curled into a smile as his fingers reached Yuder's ear, fumbling around with it. His eyes kept getting hazier as seconds passed; it was clear Kishiar was about to fall asleep.
“I'm...”
“Commander.”
Yuder cut him off before he could continue. Bending his body, the dark haired man wrapped his own hand around Kishiar's wrist and placed his cold palm on Kishiar's fervid cheek.
“While I understand that you are worried about me, I assure you that no one, not the Second prince of Nelarn nor any noble, has the ability to command me. No one but you, my commander.”
Yuder leaned closer to Kishiar's face, close enough to feel the warmth radiate from Kishiar's face. A heat, not caused due to the consumption of alcohol, ran rampant in his body.
“And I hope that you too, are aware of the effect you have on me.”
Kishiar la Orr, once a man he had killed with his own two hands, managed to secure a cardinal position in Yuder Aile's life. He became someone who Yuder swore to protect and love with everything he had.
Cold lips met hot ones, the kiss initiated by Yuder was quickly returned through Kishiar. The taste of the silver wine felt even sweeter now. Unlike the heat inside their body, the kiss shared felt incredibly tamed.
“You should rest now.”
Yuder said as he parted from Kishiar, his heart beating like a drum inside his chest. The corner of Kishiar's eyes curled downwards as he wrapped his arms around Yuder and pulled him in. The dark haired man let out a soft breath as the sound of Kishiar's heavy heartbeat resonated in his ear.
“Also, please don't insist on drinking this much again. I don't see how this can be good for your body.”
