Chapter 1: The Evening Star and Morning Sun

Chapter Text

1/?

[Good evening. Boarding for Korean Air flight number 705 to Tokyo, Japan will commence immediately. Would all passengers please proceed to gate C2 and have your boarding pass and ID ready. Thank you]

“I'm about to board hyung, I”ll hang up"

After exchanging greetings, the young man swiftly tapped the screen of his phone before slipping it into the left pocket of his shirt and briskly pulling his suitcase towards the departure gate.

He seemed hurried— and indeed he was. He was rushing. Rushing to escape life. But don't worry, it's not as dramatic as it sounds! He just wanted a brief break, some fresh air, then back home.

There's only one thing he hopes for now. Hopefully, his mom won't realize that her oldest son is now on a plane, heading to Tokyo, instead of participating in the summer program held by the university.

By the way, the young man's name is Tokuno Yushi—

The eldest son of the Tokuno family. A medical student from a prestigious university in the capital city of Korea. Like the stereotypical Asian kids born into prominent families, Yushi's activities have been arranged by his parents since he was little. What he eats every day, what he wears, what activities he does after school, and even who his friends will be, were all determined by his parents.

Yushi? Initially, he didn't mind at all! After all, it's all for his future comfort. The problem is, his parents have been very... demanding lately?

Studying in the medical department isn't easy, especially in the third year, and everyone knows that, or everyone should know that. Yushi is busy with practicum activities and clubs, coming home late every day, sometimes even staying overnight at the campus or hospital. But instead of understanding, both of his parents are adding an extra ton of weight to his shoulders.

Not to be hyperbolic, but he really doesn't like his parents' agenda this time, people often call it— arranged marriage. Actually, he wasn't forced to get engaged or married right away. His parents just asked him to get to know and date the child of their business partner every weekend. But that's the problem! Even though he can't do things that people his age normally do, at least he wants to rest on the weekends. Besides, he's not a conglomerate's child or a top star son, does he really need to do this?

Isn't it enough that his life has been controled like a mass production robot all this time?

Sometimes Yushi wonders, is it possible that he's going through puberty that should have passed years ago? For the first time, he's not following his parents' words. Could it be that he's just tired? Fed up? Or does he really not want it? Well, no one knows.

Yushi has arrived in Japan's capital. He has also booked a hotel for a week. No need to worry about leaving traces. Yushi is smart. He didn't book everything under his name, he also changed his phone number before leaving, and he didn't book plane tickets and hotels using his card. And he promised not to use his card or everything would be in vain. Besides, he's not sure his parents would do anything irrational like hiring a group of hackers just to track him down.

His actions now are indeed impulsive. Among all the options, why did he choose Tokyo? Tokyo is his birthplace, even though his family has been living in Korea since Yushi was in elementary school, still— Tokyo is his hometown. Maybe Yushi chose Tokyo because his subconscious mind misses his hometown environment.

But the problem is, he doesn't know what he wants to do. Besides his movements being hindered by environmental changes, he's also not familiar with the free life in the capital without parental supervision. Actually, Yushi isn't a big fan of sightseeing agendas, but this time he wants to spend his week exploring new things, things that were never allowed by his parents. But unfortunately, he doesn't even know how to start.

Daydreaming for thirty minutes on the hotel bed, he suddenly remembered his friend's words.

"If you go to Tokyo, you must visit Shibuya. I saw in anime that Shibuya is like a trend center."

Shibuya. Yes, he remembered, and what his friend said is indeed true. Shibuya is a trend center area. When Yushi was a kid, he had been there, although not often.

Instead of opening the internet to confirm the authenticity of his memory, Yushi immediately left his room— without taking anything. Except his wallet, hotel card, and of course his phone.

He is not sure what he'll do next, but he definitely wants to try everything his parents never allowed. Well, although he himself doesn't know how to start.

Amidst the bustling crowd, Yushi was surrounded by people now. Considering Yushi's character all this time, he actually wanted to go back to the hotel! But he was already dizzy to go back to the station and mingle with the sea of people. He's also not sure if the train route he took remains the same or different. He could take a taxi, but at rush hour like this, it's expensive. Although money is not an issue, as a college student, he must be wise in spending money, right?

So Yushi decided to wander around for a while, looking for food to eat, and planned to return to the station when it was less crowded. After all, who knows, he might find something he wants to do while walking around.

"Onii-chan over there, wait a moment! There's a music performance inside."

Yushi was startled, a girl just grabbed his arm out of nowhere? He's not sure what the girl meant, but he was led to enter a place like— a nightclub.

Yushi swallowed his saliva, a 23-year-old man entering a bar— shouldn't be a big deal, right?

—

A bar combined with live house music. That's where Yushi was pulled by the unknown girl earlier. The location is underground, quite unique— this is his first time in a place like this. Don't ask where the girl went, she's already back on the streets to pull people into this place. It's dark here, perhaps dimly lit would be more accurate. Unlike his room which was lit by bright white lights. Here, the lights are mostly red, green, yellow, and Yushi is confused about the rest. There are many people gathered here to do their own activities, like... kissing, dancing, drinking, or just listening to music. And Yushi? Just sitting at the far corner of the bar table, planning to have a little drink. He wouldn't mingle with the crowd in the middle of the room because really— even tho he wants to do new things, he avoids doing things that are too extreme beyond reason.

"One Kamikaze cocktail, please," he said coolly, resting one of his elbows on the bar table. The bartender in front of him just nodded and started making his drink. Honestly, Yushi doesn't really know what ingredients are mixed in, or the alcohol content. He just chose a name that he thought was cool. Don't blame him because this is also his first time visiting a bar. The only alcoholic drink he has ever had is beer, and that was just to celebrate his university's birthday last year. And guess what happened? Just one bottle made Yushi collapse and of course he was scolded harshly by his mom!

Staring at the green cocktail served in front of him, his attention was suddenly drawn by loud cheers from the center of the room— prompting Yushi to look towards the source of the commotion.

Band? Rock and roll? Or Japanese rock? That's the gist of it. But, since he's already here, there's no harm in enjoying it, right? Besides, judging by the audience's enthusiasm, it seems like the band performing tonight is quite popular!

Acting like a regular customer who always comes on Sundays, Yushi sipped his ordered cocktail while shaking his head, enjoying the music. Occasionally, he raised his hand so he looked cool. Luckily, today he bought a silver chain necklace on the street, at least it could complement his denim shirt so his outfit doesn't look out of place.

Yushi began to get into the mood and started stepping towards the stage with his glass of cocktail. His intention was to blend in. But in reality, his attention was drawn to something else.

"Gorgeous" was a word that unconsciously escaped his lips. If you're wondering, what Yushi meant was the guitarist with jet-black hair who was now performing.

Actually, his current feeling of admiration couldn't be represented by just one word. How to explain it? Yushi's feelings were more complex when he looked at him. Handsome, charismatic, charming, sexy. It felt like he wanted to throw out all the praising adjectives right then and there. Is there really such a person? Don't forget his performance that was capable of captivating the entire audience and their hearts. Wearing a black tee wrapped in a ripped jacket and complemented by ripped jeans. His fingers skillfully moved on those thin guitar strings, sweat dripping from his firm jaw down to his neck— making him look even sexier. Just like a scene from a webcomic, Yushi thought.

The ad libs shouted, the various expressions, or the headbanging he did. Yushi loved everything to the point of feeling insane. And in the midst of that madness, Yushi felt a strange sensation in the pit of his stomach when their eyes accidentally met. Especially when the owner of that black hair earlier threw a smile towards Yushi, it felt like being pulled by an endless black hole, and of course Yushi didn't mind. You could say Yushi was crazy, but right now his mind was wandering everywhere, between dirty thoughts or being aroused and wanting to wrap his arms around him while kissing him right now. Maybe Yushi is really drunk. Or not?

Let's say Yushi's logic was broken into pieces. When the band's performance ended, Yushi immediately approached someone who had been the center of his attention for about an hour, pushing through the partying crowd.

Yushi grabbed his shoulder from behind, causing the person to turn around.

"Hey, can I kiss you?" he blurted out without a preamble, just like the drunken uncles on the streets. Yushi wasn't completely under the influence of alcohol, he remembered very well that he had vowed not to do anything extreme beyond reason. But who knows, suddenly he wanted to act yolo and deliberately speak recklessly. Besides, Yushi doubts the person in front of him would heed his words.

[Do you know him? Or a fan?]

The friend of the guy with the black hair asked, and of course Yushi knew because he wasn't completely under the influence of alcohol. But Yushi didn't care because his focus was only on the handsome guy with black hair!

[I know him, you can go ahead]

"Are you perhaps Japanese? Or Japanese living in Korea?" Yushi widened his eyes, how could he know? Did Yushi accidentally blabber in Korean in front of him earlier? Who knows, Yushi didn't care because it wasn't important now.

"Yeah, both are correct," Yushi replied shortly. While his conversational partner seemed to look over Yushi's appearance from head to toe without saying a word.

"So, can I have a kiss?" Yushi persisted. Not meaning to be rude, but isn't this kind of thing common in bars at night? At least that's what he saw in movies. Besides, when else would he have the opportunity to kiss a rock star like this. Huh?

Yushi moved forward slowly, causing the other person to step back till his waist touching the bar table. He leaned his hands on the bar table, precisely on the right and left sides of the black haired body, enclosing them until there was only about 10 cm of distance between them. Once again, he didn't mean to be rude. He would immediately back off if his opponent refused right then and there. Yushi was trying his luck right now.

"Are you drunk? Where do you stay, I”ll take you there," his interlocutor said calmly, as if he used to dealing with people like Yushi.

"100% sober," Yushi said. Although it didn't look like it.

"Please?" Yushi didn't give up. Yushi started tilting his head with pleading eyes, stroking the black haired person’s cheek down slowly to the neck, trying to provoke, "If you kiss me, I'll tell you where I stay later."

His interlocutor looked slightly annoyed, but there was no gesture of rejection. He should be able to push Yushi away if he objected to Yushi's behavior, but no—

"Okay, just once th—" Before he could finish his sentence, Yushi swiftly seized the opportunity given. His lips now met with the lips of the person he had been teasing since earlier. Starting from the upper lip and then the lower lip, Yushi gently and softly devoured them alternately. He wanted to savor the opportunity that might only come once in a lifetime. He briefly wondered, how many times has this rock star in front of him been faced with someone like Yushi? Rude, forceful, and aggressive. Seeing him agree to Yushi's request, it's not impossible that he has kissed many people before, or maybe it's one of his routines? Honestly, thinking about it made his left chest flutter a bit. Ironically, he's also one of those forceful people, so he won't complain.

His head started to spin, his body trembled, he didn't know kissing could be this addictive. And the tremors felt doubly stronger when the person in front of him suddenly took control. Oh, Yushi felt like he wanted to kiss the person in front of him forever. Not just his lips, Yushi felt like he wanted to be kissed all over his body, in his eyes, nose, cheeks, chin— Sounds crazy but Yushi even thought about asking for one or two marks on his neck from the person he was kissing right now. Suddenly Yushi felt a hand slowly sliding into his clothes, caressing his waist and stomach with a sensual gesture. He was slightly startled and reflexively opened his mouth when he felt the touch of the hand without the intermediary of fabric. As if given access, his play partner took the opportunity to put his tongue into Yushi's mouth. Messy and chaotic, honestly, he didn't know how to return the kiss properly. He just followed his instincts, inserting his tongue, sucking, and clashing with the other tongue. Yushi deepened his kiss, bringing his body closer until there was no distance. His hands occasionally tugged at his conversation partner's hair, while received a squeeze and a touch on his buttocks. Yushi wrapped his arms around his opponent's shoulders, roughly sucked on lips as addictive as honey. The person he was kissing matched the rhythm of play Yushi wanted, his hair and clothes slightly disheveled due to his growing impatience. In the meantime, Yushi felt his chest pounding so much— to the point where his head started to feel heavy and dizzy.

He wanted to keep enjoying and spending the night kissing without thinking about anything else until sleep came to seduce. Whatever news awaited him tomorrow, he wouldn't regret it. Hopefully?

Although the night passed with excitement, Shibuya's morning would still welcome them.

"Riku, don't forget to take care of your friend. He seems unaccustomed to alcohol."

“Uhm, sure. I”ll take care of him, I mean— Yushi.”
