Chapter Text
“No!”
“Yes!”
“Noo…There is no way I lost again.” I shout or more like groan out loud.
I’ve lost three times in cards, to Damon, in one evening. I can’t believe it. I used to be the best. Not anymore apparently.
“Well, well, well. Seems like you owe me a wish now. Remember the deal?” Damon says, pleased with himself, reminding be about the drill in this game.
“The deal is a deal. Duh… Bring it up.” I say nonchalantly, trying not to sound bothered that I’ve lost. Three times, my mind reminds me.
Damon appears to think for a while. And then out of the blue says.
“I wish for you to be my…slave for a day.” My eyes almost bulge out of my face. I think I’m dreaming. There is no way in hell he just suggested what I think he suggested.
“You’re kidding me, right?” I frown, hoping for the best.
“Nope. I am not.” He’s being so casual about it. Like he just asked me to bring him water or something. Not to dare me to be his slave for a day. But, that’s Damon, so that is in his style. Kind of.
“You can’t wish for that.” I say, thinking of the way to save my ass from this madness. I shouldn’t have agreed to that stupid card game, in the first place. Boredomness be damned.
Now I owe him a wish. Perfect.
“There were no rules saying anything about that. And what about your “the deal is a deal” phrase, huh?”
“I am not gonna be your slave!” I argue.
“Oh. I get it. You’re just scared. Didn’t know that you’re a coward.”
I see red.
How dares he to use this old trick on me. This trick got me into trouble more than once. And yet.
“I am not a coward. But if you think you’re gonna fool me into your twisted games. I’m out of it.”
“Who said something about twisted games? Come on. It’ll be fun for you too. It’s not like I’m making you to eat chilli pepper. This could’ve been more worse if it wouldn’t be me that you’ve lost to.”
“Wish it was chilli though.” I mumble. I am so not pleased with myself. Should’ve thought about this before. Who knew, Damon would try to take a shot in this?
“Oh trust me you don’t.” He mutters and looks at me, with a thoughtful expression on his face.
We stay quiet for a moment.
“Okay. Let’s re-do this. How about that? You’re gonna have to be saying only “yes” to me for the whole day? Sounds better?”
“How is it sounds better if that’s literally the same. ‘Oh, Elena, do you want to do a lap dance? Why, yes Damon.’ That’s how you imagine that to go?” I mock his voice while saying middle sentences.
“Ew. Get your head out of the gutter. I’m not that kind of desperate to need some trick to get you to dirty dance. A good music and a couple shots of tequila would do that.”
“No.” I’m still not gonna agree on that.
“Yes.” He looks determined and for sure not letting it go.
“Absolutely not.”
“Then I’ll tell Caroline that you chickened out.” Shit.
“You wouldn’t dare.” I glare at him.
“Watch me.” With that, he turns around and heads to the front door. I know for a fact that he is not bluffing. And I just can’t let that go. Caroline will tease me forever that I’ve lost to him of all people and well… I don’t need that.
“Wait.” I call for him.
“I’m listening.” He says after turning around, smiling like a Cheshire cat.
“Fine. I’ll do it.” I say, feeling defeated.
“But. No. Funny. Business!” I threaten him with my finger, not that it has any effect on him, it’s just for the dramatics.
“As you wish. See you tomorrow, Elena.” With that he leaves, but also matters something on his way out.
“Oh, this is gonna be so fun.” That’s what he said.
I’m already dreading tomorrow.
This isn’t gonna be “oh, so fun” for me, I’m sure in this at least.
