[ART] We Came So Far

Summary:
When Stiles and Derek almost drown for the second time in their lives, things (thankfully) go much better than they expect.
Notes:
First Sterek art piece of 2026! :D I had no idea how this one was going to turn out, but I think the concept gradually developed over time the more I played around and chipped away at this. I'm really glad I went for something warmer and brighter aka a general energy I'd like to take along with me for all the things I make for this year!
This art piece crosses off the "free space" square for my Hurt/Comfort Bingo card. All the versions of 'Golden' by Huntr/ix (aka EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami) inspired the title and overall vibes that brought this piece to life.
Fact: this was a WIP living in my art queue for about a year. Every time I tried working on this illustration, I was stuck with major art block...until I changed my color palette. If you've been following me on Tumblr lately, you'll know I'm a HUGE Kpop Demon Hunters fan, and I changed my palette to use the bolder KPDH colors. The result? A lively art piece that is now finished! Hooray!
The color changes challenged me to use art skills I know I already have but don't use often, such as going full color and digitally painting water (lol I have no idea how long those ripples took me! :P). It's always kinda iffy to go out of my comfort zone, but it turns out I'm not that rusty, and I learned a few new tricks along the way. Win-win!
