Work Text:
It was well past midnight and objectively speaking Jiseok knew he should be asleep in his dorm room. He had class the next day and reading or homework he could be doing. Instead he was sitting in his best friend’s kitchen drunk off mojitos because Jungsu’s roommate had brought home a bunch of extra mint from his bartending job. So at least he was helping fight food waste.
Jiseok, Jungsu, and Jungsu’s boyfriend Gunil were occupying the kitchen, the formerly mentioned roommate was at his formerly mentioned bartending job. Jiseok sat atop the island counter criss-cross applesauce, leaning back with his torso supported by his hands. The granite was cool against his rum warmed body. Jungsu was standing not too far from him, leaning forward and resting his elbows on the same counter. He was close enough to Jiseok’s legs that he could kick him if he wanted to. Gunil was sitting across the room on a different counter because it was close to the outlet he had plugged his dying phone into. He was busy with queuing up synth pop songs playing through a bluetooth speaker. He was not close enough to kick if Jiseok wanted to. Good thing Jiseok didn’t want to kick either of them.
Jungsu was slurring energetically through some story, probably about someone in one of his classes. Jungsu always seemed to know everything about everyone and always had some sort of gossip to share. Jiseok was doing his best to follow but he didn’t recognize any of the names being said and he had to split his attention between keeping his head up and Jungsu. So he found himself mostly just staring at Jungsu’s lips.
Jungu had very nice lips. This was not a newly discovered detail for Jiseok. Jungsu’s lips were plush and round and Jiseok had spent plenty of time looking at them. He had never told anyone but when he first met Jungu he had a huge crush on him. How could he not? Jungsu was so pretty and kind and his eyes were so sparkly. He had pet Jiseok’s head one time and Jiseok thought he was going to die on the spot. And then of course Jungsu had told him he had a boyfriend and Jiseok was many things but a homewrecker was not one of them. Thus he deeply buried those feelings deep down and they had mostly dissipated. Which was good because Jiseok really liked Gunil and anyone could see he was perfect for Jungsu. Sober Jiseok had no desire to come between the two.
That being said, Jiseok was not sober and pretty much all of his self control and reasonable thinking had died after the third drink. The final nail was hammered into the proverbial coffin when Jungsu paused his story to take a sip of his drink. Watching Jungsu’s lips wrap around a straw burned through his remaining impulse control. He sat up suddenly, startling Jungsu.
“Jungsu,” Jiseok leaned forward toward him. Jungsu stared back with wide eyes. “Can I kiss you?” The words were out before Jiseok could stop them.
Jungsu blinked, his cheeks were flushed red from alcohol but the color deepened at Jiseok’s words. He didn’t seem upset with the question. Actually, maybe it was the hopeful part of Jiseok’s brain but he looked intrigued.
Jungsu turned to look at Gunil. Jiseok had almost forgotten he was there. He followed Jungu’s gaze expecting to see anger and betrayal but Gunil’s face was blank, waiting to hear Jungsu’s response. Jungsu whipped back around to Jiseok.
“You have to ask Gunil.”
The world shifted under Jiseok. Jungsu hadn’t said no. He wasn’t angry, he wasn’t grossed out, and most importantly he hadn’t said no. Jiseok looked back to Gunil with the energy of a dog begging for a treat. “Gunil,” He tried to reign in his desperation, but god he felt like he was going to die if he got this close for nothing. “Can I please kiss Jungsu. Please.”
Gunil looked between Jiseok and Jungsu, the request likely filtering slower given their current state. It felt like years before he finally answered. “Yeah, okay. But just this one.”
Jiseok was impressed at the amount of self assuredness in Gunil’s voice. If someone asked to kiss his non-existent boyfriend he didn’t think he could be cool about it. But Jiseok was not here to argue.
The second the permission was granted Jiseok turned back to Jungsu and looked at him expectantly.
It took Jungsu a moment to realize that Jiseok wanted him to make the first move, but when he did his expression melted into affection. “You’re so cute.” He giggled.
Jiseok pouted, but it didn’t last long because Jungsu was pushing off the counter and moving to stand in front of Jiseok.
Uncrossing his legs Jiseok scooted himself closer to the edge, so that Jungsu was standing between his legs. He was pretty sure this had to just be a really self serving dream.
Jungsu cupped Jiseok’s face, rubbing his thumb over his cheek first and then his bottom lip. Jiseok parted his lips on instinct. Jungsu pushed the tip of his thumb into Jiseok’s mouth.
“So cute.” Jungsu repeated.
And then Jungsu pulled his hand away, leaned down and pressed his lips to Jiseoks.
Jiseok felt like he was going to combust. This was a thousand times better than he had ever imagined and he had imagined it a lot. Jungsu’s lip were somehow softer than they looked and he tasted faintly like strawberries and mint. Jiseok didn’t ever want this to end.
Wrapping his arms around Jungsu’s neck Jiseok slid his body forward, attempting to get closer to Jungsu. Jungsu responded immediately, one his hands sliding to Jiseok’s hip, holding him tighter to his body. His other hand slid into Jiseok's hair and gripped it tighter than Jiseok would have expected from gentle Jungsu.
Jiseok gasped in surprise and Jungsu immediately took advantage of it. His tongue darted forward and ran along Jiseok’s bottom lip. Jiseok allowed Jungsu to explore his mouth, he was comfortable letting Jungsu do anything he wanted.
It was as if Jungsu could read his mind. He gripped Jiseok’s hair a little tighter, pulling his head back to expose Jiseok’s neck. Jungsu kissed a path down the side of Jiseok’s mouth to his neck where he began sucking and biting in a way that was definitely going to leave marks.
Jiseok was lost in the feeling for a minute before his eyes met Gunil’s and he remembered where he was. However, Gunil didn’t look upset. His face was difficult to read, but he was watching intently and Jiseok’s eyes drifted down from Gunil’s face and it was clear that he was enjoying it.
The fact that Gunil was into it just turned Jiseok on even more. He tilted his head more, giving Jungsu more access and he let a little moan slip as Jungsu bit down on his pulse point. Jiseok wrapped his legs around Jungsu’s waist as the hand on Jiseok’s hip slipped under his t-shirt and began rubbing up the bare skin of his side.
Jiseok dragged his nails down Jungsu’s back and made an attempt to roll his hips as much as he could in his position. Jungsu groaned against his neck.
Jiseok briefly wondered how long Gunil would let them go but he decided he was willing to push his luck and began to tug on the hem of Jungsu’s sweatshirt.
Jiseok was about to attempt to get Jungsu out of that sweatshirt when his phone began to loudly blast a ringtone remix of Itzy’s Wannabe.
And just like that the spell was broken. Jungsu jumped away from Jiseok, panting and lips swollen. He rushed to Gunil’s side and Jiseok shoved down the feelings of rejection and dug his phone out of his pocket. Why the fuck was Jooyeon calling him at one thirty in the morning?
“What’s up, Joo.” Jiseok answered, attempting to hide the frustration in his voice.
“Hey, do you still need a ride?” Jooyeon sounded confused. “You texted me like forty-five minutes ago but I was playing league and didn’t see it til now.”
Jiseok did not remember asking Jooyeon his roommate to come get him, but he was suddenly very thankful for it. “Yeah, that’d be great.”
“Are you okay? You sound kinda fucked.” Jooyeon didn’t know the half of it.
“Yeah, I’m good.” Jiseok assured him.
“Kay kay, I’ll be there in like fifteen minutes!” Jooyeon chirped and promptly hung up.
Jiseok slid his phone back into his pocket. “Jooyeon is gonna come pick me up, I forgot I asked him.” he explained.
Jungsu frowned. “You’re not staying over?”
It was comforting to Jiseok that he sounded disappointed.
“Nah, I have class tomorrow.”
Gunil’s eyes widened. “Shit, Ji, it’s so late, I didn’t realize you had class.” He worried. Jungsu’s face matched Gunil’s tone.
Jiseok had to laugh at how quickly the pair switched up to acting like his parents. “It’s fine, it’s fine.” He waved off their concern as he hopped off the counter, deciding he would rather wait outside than hang out in the aftermath of whatever just happened. “Uhm, thanks for the mojitos. And for kissing me. I shall see you all later.”
“Jiseok, come here.” Jungsu ordered, a frown gracing his features.
Jiseok slunk toward the pair, he didn’t mean to act like he was in trouble but he wasn’t exactly sure how to act after making out with his best friend right in front of his boyfriend.
Once Jiseok was in front of them Jungsu kept one arm around Gunil and tugged Jiseok towards them with the other, hugging him tightly.
“We’re good, right?” Jungsu asked, sounding a bit desperate.
Jiseok gave a bright smile. “Yeah, we’re good.” He looked to Gunil for his confirmation.
Gunil looked at Jiseok fondly. “Good.” He echoed. “Get home safe.”
Jiseok rolled his eyes. “Yes, dad.”
Jungu scrunched up his nose and Gunil groaned. “You cannot call me that right now.”
Jiseok just giggled.
As Jiseok slipped into the car with Jooyeon he was still pretty sure the whole night was just a really good fever dream. That was until Jooyeon pointed out the massive hickey on the side of his neck. Oops.
