Work Text:
I wish we hadn’t done it,
but the deed has been done,
and now we are both broken,
a pair of lonely ones.
What once was sun and rainbows
is now skies of gray,
but my beating heart is hollow,
and my lips have naught to say.
We keep going in circles
as you fight for your desires,
while I stay put and pout
as the flames grow higher and higher.
Now we’re separated,
troubled, troubled souls;
I hope that soon we’ll reunite
and refill the growing holes.
Wherever you are right now,
I hope you’re doing fine,
and I hope that you achieve your dreams
and that life will treat you kind.
As for me, I sit and frown,
fearing what might be lost.
I try to write and find myself,
paying a silent cost.
