Work Text:
"What you watching, Pip?" Clint asked, bending over the back of the couch and ruffling his daughter's curly, red hair.
"Uncle Tony is doing science with Uncle Bruce," Pippa said. "He told Jarvis to show me The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, but don't get it."
"I think it's about team work," Clint said, "like the Avengers and if I remember right each turtle wears a different color."
"Like you wear purple, and Uncle Tony's suit is red and Uncle Steeb wears blue?" Pippa asked.
"That's the idea," Clint said.
"But, we don't have an orange and they don't have a black for Auntie Nat or a green for Uncle Bruce."
"Your Poppy would love how literal you are," Clint said, kissing the back of Pippa's head.
"Was Poppy L-I-T-E-R_A-L?" Pippa asked her daddy, sounding out the word.
"Yes," Clint said, "very literal. "You take after him.
"Why are you sad?" Pippa asked.
"I just miss your Poppy," Clint said. "He would have loved watching this with you. He was a dork, but he was my dork."
"Isn't that a bad word?" Pippa asked.
"It depends on how you mean it," Clint said. "I meant it with deep affection and love."
