**Part 1: The Beginning**
The classroom was nearly empty, save for the last few students shuffling papers and gathering their belongings. Suga sat at his desk, staring blankly at the test paper in front of him. The red marks seemed to blur together, each one a small sting to his confidence. He had never been great at math, but this score was a new low, and the weight of disappointment was heavy in his chest.
Daichi, packing up his backpack nearby, noticed Suga’s dejected expression. As he approached, he caught a glimpse of the grade scribbled at the top of Suga’s test. "Tough test, huh?" Daichi asked, trying to keep his tone light.
Suga managed a weak smile. "Yeah, you could say that. I just can’t wrap my head around trigonometry."
"Don't worry, we'll figure it out," Daichi said reassuringly. Just then, their teacher, Mr. Akita, approached with a concerned look.
"Sugawara, I’ve noticed you’ve been struggling a bit more this semester. I’m thinking some extra help could go a long way. Daichi, would you mind tutoring him for the next test?"
Daichi nodded immediately, "Of course, Mr. Akita."
Suga felt a mix of relief and embarrassment. "I’d really appreciate that, Daichi. Thank you."
With a plan in place, they decided to start that same afternoon. They gathered their things and headed to Daichi’s house, a comfortable spot where they had spent many afternoons studying—or at least attempting to study before getting sidetracked by video games or long conversations about everything and nothing
