I Don't Want To Be Vulnerable To You

Summary:

Geiz gets hurt and Sougo finds out he's trans while treating his wounds, much to Geiz's dismay

Work Text:

Geiz didn't really know what had happened. One minute, he was fighting and then he felt a lot of pain. He had no idea what had happened to him, but could make some estimated guesses.

He had woken up in his bed. That meant he had probably passed out. Not a good sign. He could feel the uncomfortable texture of bandages on his body. He had been wounded bad enough that was necessary.

Geiz grunted in pain as he forced himself into a sitting position. He was alone in the room for now. He had no idea how long that might last for. He better observe the damage now before someone came in and started talking to him.

He looked himself over. Quite a few scraps and bruises. And then his gaze fell to his chest. It was wrapped in white bandages. That wasn't the alarming part. The alarming part was that whoever did this saw his chest. And that meant they saw that he didn't have the body they would've expected.

Geiz prayed that it had been Tsukuyomi who had patched him up. At least she knew about this. But, he felt like that was too wishful of thinking. What if it had been Sought? How did he feel knowing this information? Did that change everything?

There was a quiet knock on the door and then it opened. Sougo popped his head in the room, a smile forming on his lips. "Glad to see you're awake. I'll be right back then."

Geiz waited in confusion for Sougo to return. What was he doing? Was he going to get Tsukuyomi? Geiz had no idea.

Sougo soon reappeared with a tray of food. That's what he had gone to do? Geiz hesitantly accepted the tray. He was hungry but...

"How are you feeling?" Sougo asked, taking a seat at the end of the bed.

"Fine." Geiz replied tartly.

"So... you're trans?" Sougo asked.

Geiz had to take a long minute to reply. The way Sougo had so casually asked threw him off. He hadn't been expecting that type of reaction. But that did mean Sougo was the one to bandage his wounds. That was a whole other story of emotions too.

"Maybe." Geiz replied quietly.

"That's cool. I don't care."

Geiz glanced up at Sougo, unsure what to say. He had expected a lot more from this conversation. Instead, it was being treated almost too casually. How the hell was his enemy more accepting than people he thought he could call his friends? It didn't make any sense.

"You better keep this between us." Geiz threatened.

"Who would I even tell?" Sougo questioned in reply.

That was a good point. Geiz hated that. There was no one that Sougo would even tell. His threat meant nothing. He didn't like that. Didn't like the vulnerability he was feeling. He wanted it to go away. How did he make it go away though?

"Just... don't think about it." Geiz threatened badly.

"Okay."

Geiz took in a deep breath. He wanted to get some leverage over Sougo, but nothing was working. He just had to accept this vulnerability he now exposed against his will. At least it seemed like Sougo wouldn't try to use it against him.

"Can I eat in peace then, Zi-O?" Geiz asked.

"Sure. I'll check on you later then." Sougo replied. He left the room without a fight.

Geiz let out a long sigh. That had not been the conversation he had ever expected to have. At least... it had gone well. Though, he kind of wished he had a better reason to hate Sougo. That would've given him something more to use to explain why he hated him despite the kindness he kept getting shown.
