Work Text:
Atsumu and Sakusa had been dating since they met in a recording studio. They had been 19 and both two young boys trying to make it in the music industry. Sakusa was rapping and Atsumu singing, though he was in a band with his twin, Osamu. Though the pair were extremely different they complimented each other perfectly. Their relationship was very public, regularly posting each other even after they both became extremely successful. Sakusa had started his own record label and stopped rapping mostly focusing on his label. Atsumu and Osamu disbanded and Osamu started a restaurant whilst Atsumu became a solo singer. Atsumu quickly rose to huge amounts of fame. Atsumu often made Sakusa do songs with him, fans loved this. To the world thier relationship looked picture perfect. And for a while it was. The two secretly married when they were 25
That was until Atsumu met the new guy that signed under Sakusa’s label. The young boy was 21, a sweet looking boy with even Atsumu admits great hair. Sakusa seemed very fond of the young boy, Atsumu thought nothing of it at first, but over time Sakusa was spending less time at home and more time at the label, helping out the new boy with his debut album. Atsumu grew wary, then the paparazzi photos of Sakusa that were posted all seemed to include the young boy. Atsumu questioned Sakusa who simply said the young man reminded of himself. Atsumu still not satisfied with other this began to look more into it and found out the pair were spending alot of time outside the label building, Sakusa often driving them around and taking him shopping. Atsumu decided it was time to tell his brother, Atsumu rang him up and they agreed a time and Osamu came to Atsumu house when Sakusa was out.
“ I don’t want to believe it Osamu but I don’t feel like I have a choice even if they aren’t hooking up they feel to close.” Atsumu said through staggered breathing. Osamu was fuming.
“You can’t stand around while he fucks around with some little bitch boy, your Atsumu for fucks sake.” Osamu yelled.
“I know but I love him and what if I’m just imagining it and I’m being over dramatic.”
Atsumu sighed out.
“Call him and ask him, no tell him to come home because we are all going out for dinner. I’ll show him what will happen if he keeps fucking around. Also don’t you guys have a performance together soon. If he’s done anything he’ll surely feel guilt singing your love songs” Osamu told him. Atsumu found himself nodding. Atsumu pulled out his phone and called Kiyoomi.
“Hi omi, can you come home so we can go out to dinner, Osamu is here and he wants to go out together.”
“I’m kinda of busy right now baby, can we go out another time?”
“No sorry, Osamu is going away for a while and he wants all to go out together before he leaves, I also feel like I haven’t seen you in a while.” Atsumu whispered out, he heard Sakusa sigh.
“Fine, I’ll come home now, see you soon” and with the Sakusa hung up.
Osamu called up a restaurant and made a booking for three. It was a nice place, and Osamu made sure to warn paparazzi that the three would been there tonight. Sakusa finally arrived home and the three went on thier way. Osamu had something planned and Atsumu knew something was going to happen but he wasn’t sure what. After dinner and after Osamu had looked out the window and made sure the paparazzi was outside the three were standing in the elevator on thier way out when Osamu turned to face Sakusa.
“You better not be fucking around with that little bitch.” Osamu said calmly while facing the exit of the elevator. Slowly he turned around to face Sakusa who had a guilty look on his face.
“What are you taking about Osamu.” Sakusa asked while fiddling with his jacket. Osamu looked up and saw they were almost on ground floor.
“You know what you did, and if you think I’m gonna left you fuck around with my brother his happiness then you really are more dumb than I thought.” After Osamu finished his sentence he lifted up his arm just in time for the doors of the elevator to open and smacked Sakusa on the cheek. Osamu could feel the cameras flashing. He simply turned around, left a little smirk on his face and linked his arm with Atsumu’s who had a shocked look on his face. The two walked away, Sakusa trailing behind them, his hand placed on his cheek holding where Osamu had hit him.
The next day, the pictures were on every magazine. Atsumu hadn’t talked to Sakusa yet and Sakusa hadn’t tried to either. Astumu had packed some of Sakusa things and placed them outside his room. But Sakusa still stayed in thier home. Atsumu began writing, his new songs revolving around the situation at hand. He wrote two, he decided to contact the tv show they were performing on that weekend and told them to add room for two new songs. Atsumu made sure no-one knew he was singing two songs.
Their performance was two days ways and Atsumu had began talking to Sakusa again, acting as if nothing was wrong. He let Sakusa cry on his knees to him and eg for forgiveness praying on god that nothing had happened. Atsumu left Sakusa believe he was forgiven. Atsumu went out to the club that night and danced more risky then he usually did. The whole time Sakusa was blowing up his phone asking where he was and leaving voicemails of him crying. Atsumu paid them no mind.
The concert day finally arrived and many people were talking about it, thousands wee speculating after the slap was made, wondering what had happened. They would learn tonight, Atsumu thought. Atsumu made sure to ask the directors to leave a break between the set originally agreed and the additional songs Atsumu requested. They agreed. The show was an almost host like show, there was alive audience and it was played live on tv aswell. Atsumu would remind Sakusa who he really was.
The performance had almost finished performing, they were about to go into thier last song.
“You guys ready?” Atsumu called out to the audience who gave him a heavy cheer back. Sakusa called out.
“It’s so crazy right now
Most incredibly, it’s ya boy A,
It’s ya guy, Young
Ya ready?”
Atsumu then began to sing his part, walking around the stage as he did so
Sakusa called out again.
“Part two, so crazy right n..”
Atsumu began to sing over the top of him.
“ I look and stare so deep in your eyes
I touch you more and more every time
When you leave I’m begging you not to go
Call your name two, three times in a row.”
Atsumu began to remember their relationship, how it had started.
Atsumu was standing in an elevator alone, when it stopped and a tall, slim figure walked in. The man had a mask covering his face but Atsumu could still see his eyes. The two moles near his eyebrows. The pair seemed to just stare at each other until Sakusa introduced himself.
“Such a funny thing for me to try to explain
How I’m feeling and my pride is the one to blame, cause I know I don’t understand how your love can do what no one else can.”
After they met, the pair were inseparable. Sakusa went somewhere and Atsumu followed. Atsumu had dated before, he had had girlfriends and boyfriends but no one quite captured his heart the way that Sakusa did. Within 3 months of thier relationship, Atsumu decided that he would never leave Sakusa.
“Got me looking so crazy right now
Your loves got me looking so crazy right now
Got me looking so crazy right now
Your touch got me looking so crazy right now
Got me hoping you save me right now
Your kiss got me hoping you save me right now
Looking so crazy, your loves got me looking, got me looking so crazy your love.
Atsumu remembered when the two announced their relationship to the world and all the photos they posted and the paparazzi began taking of them. He remembers everyone saying how in love Atsumu looked, how he was always looking at Sakusa with smitten eyes. Atsumu agreed.
Atsumu and Sakusa had agreed to go straight the rap part in the song after the first chorus because the had already performed for a while.
“ Young hov, y’all know when the flow is loco. Young A and the R-O-C, uh-oh
O.G. Big homie, the one and only
Stick pony but the pockets fat like tony, soprano.”
Atsumu continued to sing background vocals. The song continued and Atsumu began to block it out. He still couldn’t get his head around what Sakusa had done, how could he waste so much of Atsumu’s time. Make him believe he was loved. Atsumu had enough. Once they had finished the song, the two said goodbye to the audience and made their way offstage. Sakusa tried to hug Atsumu but he dodged it. Sakusa seemed to have a confused expression over his face as he spoke.
“ I thought we were fine now, what’s wrong?”
Atsumu replied
“Nothings wrong I’m just tired, can you go find us seats in the back so we can watch the rest of the show. Sakusa nodded and made his way towards the change rooms. Atsumu sat on the side of the stage waiting for his next performance to start. Sakusa messaged him asking where he was, Sakusa went on to tell him that he could only find seats in the front row. Atsumu replied telling Sakusa he was talking to some people behind stage and would be there soon. Atsumu checked the comments on the live stream and everyone seemed to be discussing the pictures of Osamu and Sakusa, guessing it was a personal fight between fight between them and it didn’t have anything to do with Atsumu, Atsumu peeked his head out of the curtains and spotted Sakusa, who was sitting with no other then the young boy. Atsumu had finally learned his name. Chris, even the name sounded yucky, Atsumu wasn’t surprised that someone named Chris would fuck around with a married man. Atsumu was going to show him, he was going to show everyone. Within 10 minutes Atsumu was told he was going on next. He heard the announcement.
“We have a very special performance for you guys tonight, a last hurrah one could say. Atsumu has decided to perform two new songs for us. Give it up!”
Atsumu heard the cheering begin, and he made his way out.
“ Hi guys, is everyone ready. These two songs haven’t been heard by anyone yet including my husband. So get ready”
The best began behind Atsumu as he walked closer to the front of the stage.
“ To the left, to the left (mmh)
To the left, to the left
To the left, to the left
Everything you own in a box to the left.”
Atsumu remembers packing up Sakusa’s things earlier that were in their room and putting it outside, on the front lawn. Sakusa watched, talking to Atsumu trying to get him to stop.
“In the closet, that’s my stuff
Yes if I bought it, please don’t touch
And keep talking that mess but can you walk and talk at the same time now
It’s my name that’s on that Jag’
So remove your bags let me call you a cab”
Atsumu let him stay in the house though. He didn’t want a full scandal. Atsumu had called a taxi but Sakusa wouldn’t get in. He instead stood in the front yard telling Atsumu everything the had done together and how he could never find someone like that again.
“ So remove your bags let me call you a cab
Standing in the front yard, telling me how I’m such a fool
Talking bout how I’ll never ever find a man like you
You got me twisted
You must not know ‘bout me
You must not know ‘bout me.”
While they were fighting Atsumu stupidly said he had been seeing someone else, Atsumu would never, to him there was nothing worse than cheating. Atsumu’s father had cheated on his mom so he decided he could never put someone though that.
“Matter of fact he’ll be here in a minute baby
You must not know ‘bout me
You must not know ‘bout me
I could have another you by tomorrow
So don’t you ever for a second get to thinking you’re irreplaceable.”
Atsumu was looking up at the audience list on the time, getting them to clap their hands along with the beat. Atsumu finally looked down at Sakusa who seemed shocked. Chris sitting next to him had the same look plastered, Atsumu chucked to himself.
“So go ahead and get gone
Call up that boy and see if he’s home
Oops, I bet you thought that I didn’t know
What did you think I was putting you out for.
Because you was untrue
Rolling him round in the car that I bought you
Baby, drop them keys
Hurry up before your taxi leaves”
All of the audience seemed to be looking in Sakusa’s direction now. Even the stage hands shone a light on him, the camera for the live turned to face him as Atsumu repeated the chorus.
“So since I’m not your everything
How about I’ll be nothing?
Nothing at all to you
Baby I won’t shed a tear for you
I won’t lose a wink of sleep
‘Cause the truth of the matter is
Replacing you will be so easy.”
Atsumu couldn’t imagine replacing Sakusa, he couldn’t even fathom the idea but he couldn’t let everyone know how upset he was. Sakusa had broken his heart.
“ To the left, to the left (mmh)
To the left, to the left
To the left, to the left
You got me twisted
You must not know ‘bout me
You must not know ‘bout me.
Matter of fact he’ll be here in a minute baby
You must not know ‘bout me
You must not know ‘bout me
I could have another you by tomorrow
So don’t you ever for a second get to thinking you’re irreplaceable.”
As the song wrapped up, Atsumu saw Sakusa stand up and leave, remained in his seat, trying to act innocent.Atsumu pulled out his phone and looked at live comments. All of the slandering Sakusa, Atsumu felt almost sick reading them. How could he ever hate Sakusa. Atsumu knew he would take Sakusa back in a heartbeat. It wouldn’t take much, a simple sorry would.
Atsumu and lied to the audience when he said no one had heard these songs. Atsumu had shown it to Osamu and Suna, Suna being the devil he was suggested Atsumu should start going to clubs and that he should write a revenge song. Atsumu was against the idea at first but he gave in with a few words of encouragement from his twin. They sat together as the wrote it. Most of the things Atsumu claimed in the songs weren’t real or as Suna said hadn’t happened yet, yet being the key word in his sentence. Atsumu was unsure about performing the second song but he decided he might as well.
The backing track began. The pre-recording you’s echoing thought the studio. Atsumu began.
“Sorry, I ain't sorry
Sorry, I ain't sorry
I ain't sorry, boy, nah
Sorry, I ain't sorry
Sorry, I ain't sorry
I ain't sorry”
The people in the audience began to call out, hyping Atsumu up. Atsumu looked toward the curtains, he saw Sakusa standing in one. A pained look covering his face, Atsumu ignored him continuing.
“He trying to roll me up, I ain't picking up
Headed to the club, I ain't thinking 'bout you
Me and my friends sip my D'USSÉ cup
I don't give a fuck, chucking my deuces up
Suck on my balls, pause, I had enough
I ain't thinking 'bout you
I ain't thinking 'bout”
Atsumu was feeling confident by now, soaking up the audiences cheers. He would deal with Sakusa and his bullshit later. He began the chorus.
“Middle fingers up, put them hands high
Wave it in his face, tell him, boy, bye
Tell him, boy, bye, middle fingers up
I ain't thinking 'bout you
Sorry, I ain't sorry
Sorry, I ain't sorry
I ain't sorry, boy, nah
I ain't thinking 'bout you
Sorry, I ain't sorry
Sorry, I ain't sorry
No no, hell nah”
Atsumu began to feel sorry as he keep spotting a depleted Sakusa in his peripheral vision.
“Now you want to say you're sorry
Now you want to call me crying
Now you gotta see me wilding
Now I'm the one that's lying
And I don't feel bad about it
It's exactly what you get
Stop interrupting my grinding
I ain't thinking 'bout you”
“Atsumu remembered his trip to the club and Sakusa’s reaction. Atsumu continued with the chorus until he got to his favourite part of the song, the end.
“No no, hell nah
Looking at my watch, he shoulda been home
Today I regret the night I put that ring on”
The audience called out, ohs and gasps leaking from them.
“He always got them fucking excuses
I pray to the Lord you reveal what his truth is
I left a note in the hallway
By the time you read it, I'll be far away
I'm far away”
Atsumu decided would be best to leave for a bit, the contact Sakusa and they could discuss what could happen after some time apart
“But I ain't fucking with nobody
Let's have a toast to the good life
Suicide before you see this tear fall down my eyes
Me and my baby, we gon' be alright
We gon' live a good life”
Atsumu decided he would give Sakusa an ultimatum, drop Chris from the company and stop fucking around or Atsumu would leave him. Atsumu would have this talk with Sakusa after thier time apart.
“Big homie better grow up
Me and my whoadies 'bout to stroll up
I see them boppers in the corner
They sneaking out the back door
He only want me when I'm not there”
Now for the part Atsumu had been waiting for, why expose something if you’re not gonna use names.
“He better call Chris with the good hair
He better call Chris with the good hair”
The stage crew now shone the light directly on to Chris, who had a scared look on his face as Astmu edged closer. Soon enough the were face to face, then Chris was face to face with Atsumu’s hand. After making contact Atsumu stood up and walked away, dismissing Sakusa with a simple “we’ll talk about this later”. Atsumu had never felt better.
