"Little people enjoy my company either." That wasn't a fact that necessarily bothered him, inviting people in meant pain. It meant losing them, Sanemi was danger incarnate, death was his closest companion and cruelest foe, it had taken everyone he loved away from him.
But even he got lonely, sometimes. And selfishly, he wondered if Mitsuri's strength would protect herself when he couldn't.

Mitsuri frowns. Sanemi was both loud and a brute, yes. But she had never seen his cruelty directed at anyone or anything that did not deserve it, that loathsome description of himself sat grossly on her taste buds, and she itched to correct him. But Shinaz— Sanemi was talking, and Mitsuri clung to his every word.
