Chapter Text

“What, boss?” A blond boy, around the age of fourteen, walked into the office. Sat around Mori’s desk were four other guys who he assumed were also Port Mafia members. They all looked years older than him, the only exception being a sickly looking boy with short black hair who looked to be only one or two years older than him. Everyone who he saw were different people, with different appearances, but they had one thing in common: they were mafia members.

"What's with the crowd?" Albatross asked, instinctively taking a seat next to the boy closest to his age. "I've gathered you all today for one reason." Mori began. "I have decided that starting today, you all will be working together in a group. Some of you know each other, and some of you don't know anyone here at all. But I can guarantee that from what I've observed about your personalities and work ethics, you all will be able to work together with few problems." Mori finished. Silence. A minute or two passed, before Albatross spoke up once again. "What the fuck?"

"Don't cuss in front of the boss." The black haired boy scolded. "Oh shut up, you emo." Albatross scoffed, elbowing him. "You shut up!" The boy yelled back, smacking the back of Albatross' head. "Boys, stop. Since I noticed some differences in some of you, those who live in apartments supplied by the mafia will live together. In other words, Albatross, you'll be moving in with Doc." Albatross stared at who he assumed was Doc, and Doc stared back at him. "You've gotta be kidding me!" They yelled in perfect harmony, leaving the other three to snicker and giggle to each other. "Piano Man, Ice Man, and Lippmann. Since you three already know each other, no arrangements will be made concerning you. Still, I advise you to try and bond with Doc and Albatross." The boss spoke calmly, ignoring the way that Albatross and Doc were screaming their heads off at him.

"No problem. They seem the least bit likable." Lippmann added, Piano Man and Ice Man nodding. "Come on, boss! You can't make us do this!" Doc yelled, his hands gripping his hair. "I can, and I will. Any resistance will lead to consequences." Albatross groaned and leaned back in his chair, his hand flying to his forehead. "In addition, tomorrow you two will be going on a mission. Nothing too harsh. Just a bomb threat."

"Goddamnit…" Albatross sighed. "Fine." Doc hesitantly agreed. "Since everything is clear, you five are dismissed." One by one, everyone started filing out of the boss' office. "Yo, Doc! Since we're gonna be living together, how about we hang out?" Albatross put his arm over Doc's shoulder as if they were best friends. Doc swatted his hand away, leaving Albatross pouting. "Fine. I guess we can go to your apartment to find out who's apartment is smaller so we know who's moving in with who." Doc sighed. “You should just move in with me. Less work for me.” Albatross yawned. “If you keep being annoying I’ll make you carry all the boxes by yourself. Even if they’re mine.” Doc threatened.

“Fine…” Albatross sulked. “You’re so dramatic.” Doc rolled his eyes. “Come on! You just threatened me!” Albatross exclaimed. “No I didn’t.” Doc denied. “But you just did!”

“Proof?” Doc laughed.

“Goddamnit…”

“You’re such a baby!” Doc landed another slap to the back of Albatross’ head, making the blond wince in mock pain. “You’re so mean! I didn’t do anything to you!” Albatross whined.

“Wait a second. How old are you?” Doc asked, skepticism evident on his face. “Fourteen.” Albatross replied bashfully. “Oh god, you really are just a baby!” Doc burst out into laughter. Doc had a nice laugh, at least in Albatross’ eyes he did. It was a mix of loud chuckling and slight wheezing. It would’ve been off-putting to anyone else, but there was just something about it that reeled him in like a fish when presented with bait. Maybe he was just gay. Maybe Doc’s laugh was very attractive… ish. It was Doc, and Doc and his personality were very off-putting. More so than that stupid laugh.

“How old even are you?!” Albatross yelled. “Fifteen, you baby.” `Albatross groaned and rolled his eyes. "You're only one year older than me, you freak." Doc slapped him again, this time with more force. "Ouch! Stop smacking me!" Albatross clutched the back of his head. "No, you baby" Doc giggled. "I hate you…" Albatross grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest with exasperation. "Don't worry, I hate you too. Anyways, where are we going?"

"My apartment."

"Oh, yeah… I bet it smells." Doc snickered. Albatross elbowed his side, causing him to clutch his side in pain. "Fuck you!" Doc shoved him, earning a shove in return from the blond. "Let me have you know, I keep my apartment clean. Unlike your hair." Doc gasped in mock hurt. "I wash my hair! Your hair looks greasy!" Doc countered. "No it doesn't! You're just being a bitch!"

"You two. Stop your bickering." A voice came from behind them. It wasn't the boss this time, instead it was one of the other Port Mafia members who were suffering the same cruel fate of being in a group as them. "You can't tell us what to do!" They both responded at the same time, turning to each other and starting to fight. Doc landed the first punch, which caused Albatross to slap him, which caused Doc to pull his hair and attempt to drag him across the floor. Until they were stopped. Strong hands grabbed both of them and started to drag them away from each other. "Come on! Let me at him!" Albatross yelled at the person holding him, squirming around in their hold.

“You’re acting like a little kid right now. Stop it.” A gentle, yet slightly terrifying voice came from behind Albatross. “This hijo de puta called my hair greasy!” Albatross argued, trying to get away. “And you said the same, did you not? You called his hair dirty, and he was simply defending himself.” Doc smiled smugly at him, being held similarly to him by a boy only two or three years older than them with white hair and lilac eyes. “You too. He provoked you, and instead of being the bigger person, you kept the argument going. Both of you did just as much damage as the other.” The person scolded. “It’s not my fault he’s so annoying, Lippmann!” Doc yelled at Lippmann, who was most likely the person restraining Albatross.

“But it is your fault that you let him keep going, and provoked him just as much as he did to you.”

Doc rolled his eyes at being proven to be wrong, and slumped down in the arms of the boy holding him. Said person snickered and dropped him, letting out a laugh as he jumped in surprise. “Come on, Maki! That’s not fair!”

Maki gave Albatross a small wave, giggling to himself. “Nice to meet you. My name’s Maki, as Doc just said, but you can call me Piano Man.” Piano Man greeted. "Nice to meet you too… I guess?" There was a very… strong aura around him. They gave off the same vibes a leader of a powerful group would, maybe even the same vibes of a mafia boss. "Come on, Maki! Why'd you drop me?!" Doc whined. "Stop being such a baby." Albatross replied smugly. "Let go of me, please.” The blond looked up and was met with a boy around the same age as Piano Man, with light blond hair and lilac colored eyes. “Are you going to fight with Doc again?”

“No.” Albatross sighed. “If you argue with him again when I let you go, I will not hesitate to throw you out of this window.” The cool voice threatened, then let him go.
