Chapter 2: PERSEPHONE
Chapter Text
💀 PERSEPHONE: QUEEN OF THE UNDERWORLD, GODDESS OF SPRING, THE DEAD, THE UNDERWORLD, GRAIN, AND NATURE 💐
- People have been wondering if Persephone would have a demigod of her own, considering Hades has his own children, but also it’s slightly more believable if people know about the story of Adonis. However, there are very limited ways that the goddess would give birth to a demigod, since she’s very loyal and in love with Hades, and vise-versa.
- How you could’ve been born:
- You really could’ve been born normally where Persephone’s eyes fell upon a mortal, when it was during Spring or Summer, or when the autumn and winter months have been delayed.
- Honestly, I can see this going for either gender of mortal:
If your mortal parent is male, Hades couldn’t have done much because he knows Persephone’s preferences are strict and the last human she fell in love was Adonis, that Aphrodhite herself loved as well, so, Hades worrying about her being (repeatedly) unfaithful is very rare so your mortal male parent is the exception. So don’t expect any or more demigod siblings of Persephone. Not totally out of Hades’ ire, but given how many demigod children he has, he really doesn’t say anything.
If your mortal parent is female, I can see it being this unusual birthing process where some sort of guidance is required: maybe Persephone offered a seed that your female mortal parent swallowed and boom, you were born. - You’re a cabbage patch baby or a rose baby. or you’re born from a Peach. Turnip baby. Any plant based births. Quite literally. Don’t ask how this exactly works, but it involves the blood, sweat, and tears of your mortal parent planting the seed that Persephone gave/helped and raised you together.
- There’s a story where a woman ate a red and white rose to give birth, and I don't think that's not off the books for Persephone to do. Offering the flowers or something for your mortal parent to eat and boom, here you are-
- You were either or an orphan, a completely child/baby that was near death or had died, and you underwent the same process that (Zagreus) Dionysus underwent with the weird death-rebirth thing; where you were (SOMEHOW) taken in by Persephone physically then reborn as a child of Perseophone when she gave birth to you. Since you technically died, you lost half of your mortal self because of the whole dying thing, but was replaced with Persephone’s godly portion.
- That said, you’re not probably a double demigod if you went through the whole rebirth thing: where before you were a demigod child that died before Persephone gave you a new life. If you are however, oh boy, the Fates have something planned for you and it will not be an easy/happy life for you; doomed or tortured by the narrative. Your happy ending will have to be earned and fought with blood and tears. Afterall, the more powerful the demigod, the less easy it is for them.
- Either way, I don’t really see Hades targeting you on the level Hera does to the children of Zeus; though you still might want to refer to Hades (very) politely as Lord Hades or Godly Step Father. Just good manners, you know.
- Regardless, everyone at camp is very confused and looking at you in a mixture of wonder, uncertainty, fear, amongst a few. When you get claimed, it’s like Spring has arrived, even when it’s Autumn or Winter. Nature blooms all around you with such vitality no one has seen before, with flowers, grains, and crops sprouting underneath your feet and all around you. Once the claim is over, if it’s Autumn/Winter, the world reverts back and everyone can see the rot that surrounds them except for you as you walk.
- Everyone expects you to be either a “Flower prince[ss]”, a soft person like Spring, or “A Prince[ss] of the Underworld”, terrifying like your mother. However, while you may lean one than the other, you can be both. Afterall, Persephone may be one to bring growth and fertility to the earth, and everything, she is also just as much as Kore that lends to herself being the Goddess of the Underworld and the dead where destruction follows. On the other hand, it’s a pretty cool thought where you’re wearing a crown of flowers and being all soft looking but switch to something darker with the flower petals falling off, to reveal a crown of thorns with the shadows curling around you to almost seem like your face is a skull, and vise-versa. You do you.
- When you walk on the earth, you’ll sprout flowers and plants underneath your feet but as soon as you raise your foot to step away, the plants will wither and die, leaving rot behind. Sort of like the God of the Forest walking in Studio Ghibli’s “Princess Mononoke” .
- You can summon the dead as much as the children of Hades, but there’s a keypoint where you can reanimate, revive the dead under some certain circumstances: like bringing back life to dead flowers by imparting your own power, but they're still destined to die because that is the cycle of nature after all. With living beings, it’s much more different the more complex and messier it gets. Animals are sort of allowed, but human beings? That’s a big no-no. It is the quickest and most instantaneous way to make Hades incinerate you on the spot, or make the earth swallow you beneath your feet. He already did that to Aslepius, who was so good at medicine he could revive the dead. You may be Persephone’s child and Hades’ may be lenient with you, but you’re still bound to the sacred mortal laws like everything. Even if you can’t revive (human) life, don’t even think of trying.
- Don’t be surprised if you are more in tune and affected by seasonal changes. Given how Persephone is connected with the changing of seasons, you have Autumn, Winter, Spring, and Summer aspects. What each season means to you will depend on from when you were born and furthering back from it. The children of Hecate are a good support group for this and normalise it.
- You can’t be gluten free or allergic to pollen. If you were, you aren’t now once you’re claimed. Not under Persephone’s (and Demeter’s) watch. It’ll literally go against everything that is them. You’ll also have a great love of mint, particularly munching on mint leaves. You don’t know why until you learn about the story of Minthe; a nymph that Hades pursued before Persephone faced her wrath.
- Between Demeter and Persephone,, you’re going to eat so much grains; particularly whole wheat. Even if you’re not a big fan of it, you’re conditioned to eat it and tolerate it. If you don’t eat whole wheat or whole grains every so often, you’ll feel something is missing from your diet and you’ll be craving it bitterly.
- I think being a child of Persephone makes you an exception to seeing your godly parent due to some loophole. You’re kind of obligated to go visit Persephone for the Winter and Spring equinox; in Winter, you’ll also have to meet Hades. On the plus side, the Winter visits allows you and Hades to get to know one another and minimises any animosity the Lord of the Underworld may have towards you. You’ll also get to know Nico, Hazel, and possibly any other children of Hades/Pluto along the way with the Winter Equinox visits.
- Surprisingly, Mr. D gives some sympathy and help coming to terms with the whole unusual birth thing. Anytime you have a panic or existential crisis, Mr. D is there waiting with a can of diet coke waiting for you. Chiron may also be there for those sessions if so required.
- Cabin wise at Camp Half-Blood will have to erect a Persephone cabin/temple now you’re here. In the early beginning, you’re going between the Demeter cabin or the Hades cabin until they build a cabin. The reason it’s taking so long because with Persephone, it is also prompting a possible Amphitrite cabin also along the way just to be fair because Hera has her already, then there’s Persephone, and then that also leaves the last of the Big Three’s Wives: Amphitrite. It’s less on the building part that is the problem, but the future ramifications that everyone is debating and preparing for; a storm that has yet to come.
- If there’s a Child of Hera when you’ve arrived and been claimed or during your time at camp, you’re both automatically sticking with each other in solidarity based on the whole impossible child scenario, and children of Queens. You’re also both talking with each other and being discussed with is there going to be a chance of a demigod child of Amphitrite in the future. (though very unlikely at the moment due to the fact she is Nereids, and there hasn’t been any evidence that she has any interest in mortal men*)
You’re guided to Camp Halfblood and chaperoned by your step sibling and son of Hades, Nico di Angelo. You have had 3 to 6 months to get to know him, and him knowing, coming to terms, and being quickly forced to acclimate to your existence. With a favour from Hades and a gently enforced command by Persephone, he was to accompany you to Camp Halfblood. It was less because of the threat of monsters, with the company you’re keeping, but more so as “emotional and physical support”. Seeing as you couldn’t be accompanied by the Lampades, the nymphs of the Underworld, Nico was the best next option (read: Nico is being told to accompany you in a political move to solidify your position and enforce your presence).
When you get claimed, you come on the cusp of Winter and Spring. The bare naked trees that are covered with snow disappear as yellow-green bright leaves begin to take over the branches with flower buds blossoming. The snow melts away into water, seeping into the earth below you, with fuzzy grass peeking out. It carpets underneath you with flowers sprouting underneath you, the first flowers of spring of Crocus, Snowdrops, Daffodils, with the appearance of butterflies and robins fluttering around you.
Two birds drop down to put a crown of thorns, twisting around to resemble a deer’s horns, setting upon your head, menacing as the winter light casts a menacing shadow, before the claim of Persephone of the Pomegranate appears, glowing brightly. The crown begins to sprout flowers along with the bare trees and plantations into your favourite flowers.
Everyone looks at you in changing confusion, fear, awe, and then disbelief and realisation. You see some people’s eyes, their auras distinct as they look at Nico for answers who sighs before steps forward and clear his throat, his scratchy throat sounding like bare branches rubbing against each other yet loud like a tree falling in a quiet forest.
“I, Nico di Angelo, Son of Hades, present the child of Persephone, Queen of the Underworld, Goddess of the Dead, Grains, Spring, and Nature. Hail (F/n) (L/n), their eminence of the seasons.”
Silence takes over like the winter wind before everyone screams with uproar, with minor voices yelling “ NOT AGAIN”.

Chapter 3: MYSTERIOUS HALF-NYMPH DEMIGOD (?) {Wave 1}
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
🧝♀️MYSTERIOUS HALF-NYMPH DEMIGOD (?) 🧝♂️
- Right off the bat, no one knows what to do; everyone is confused because while there have been precedence of nymphs and mortal men* falling in love with each other and birthing children together, it has been a long time for one union to come to the steps of Camp Halfblood (Famously Thetis, one of the nereids and a sea nymph, marrying the King of Phthia, Peleus, where they later give birth to Achilles).
- People sort of knew they were still a thing and were still going on, but they didn't really announce their presence either. This is usually because most of the nymphs aren’t in the realm of the powerful so their children aren’t a danger to monsters. So for you to arrive purposefully seeking training and guidance at Camp Half-blood, people are high on alert because:
- 1.) Your nymph parent is probably above the average nymph and that usually means they’re powerful enough to sire an equally powerful mortal child, which alerted the monsters to your presence
- 2.) You knew nympths or other nymphs, who sensed your blood, most likely divulged the existence of Camp Halfblood to you and/or your mortal parent so whoever your parental nymph was knew this was going to happen
- If you arrived at Camp Half-blood because a satyr and a hidden demigod sensed your presence, that makes it worse because whoever your nymph parent was, is powerful enough to be called as a god or is a worshipped deity; thus sort of making you either a demigod or an honourary one.
- You only know you know you had a nymph as your parentage because your mortal parent told you, but even when they tried to gather more, your nymph parent simply said they were a nymph, which isn’t the whole truth nor a lie. And you were very young and have a murky memory of your (nymph) parent. Any plants that may have came from a plant-related nymph as a memento and a way to appear before you were gone when you were younger due to a fire incident. Any water related nymphs would leave some sort of water-related memento, but again, you couldn’t pinpoint anything specific anymore due to fire incident those many years ago.
There was also a discussed suspicion among the Cabin leaders, Chiron, and Mr. D that your nymph parent pulled the mist over their eyes to mask the truth, which is also a telling aspect of your other parent’s true identity. Mr. D refuses to open up about more details about your heritage so Chiron suggests either your nymph heritage doesn’t fall under his domain and doesn’t know, or he is sworn by godly rules. Either way, it doesn’t narrow it down very much. Especially so when you don’t have any obvious abilities that may reveal your parentage.
- Juniper and Grover are brought to the meeting to help narrow down your parentage so gleam anything that might help. They can tell you’re definitely a child of nature which only confirms it, as Juniper frets over you as one of her general kin; thus begins the process of elimination.
- The list of suspects goes like this:
- “The Meliae”, the Ash Tree Nymphs, are immediately ruled out. Even with Meg’s help in bringing them back, the Meliai only have re-emerged after only so long, so it’s impossible for them to sire a mortal child in your time frame.
- Any of the original nine nymphs that helped raised Zeus after his birth are also crossed off the list, given their recent emergence as well.
- “The Hesperides” are put to the side. It’s not a likely suspect given the Hesperides rarely or don’t ever leave their garden. Whatever children they may have would be raised and lived at the Garden.
- Wind Nymphs are a possible candidate, but leaves only the Aura(i/e) given their nature and likely to give birth with a mortal then a storm spirit. Harpies fall under the category but due to your lack of in-born feathers, it is safely crossed out.
- “The Orestiads”, nymphs that inhabit rocky terrain, are possible but any notable ones if you were born and raised in an incredibly mountainous, valley-like or ravine-like, environment, however, your mortal parent has vague details of where they met your nymph parent.
Leo makes the point if they’re talking about notable nymphs, due to the fact the only one probable is Echo, and unless she finally left Narcissus, it’s not likely given you had a mortal parent growing up and when procured a photo of the two of you, it’s clear you aren't Echo’s and/or Narcissus’ child with your lack of mutual features.
- You can’t be any of the known “Epimelides”, like the Hesperides, are accounted for, land-locked, and will not leave their protected areas or all have been known to be the mother of Pan.
- “The Maenads'' are IMMEDIATELY crossed off given they are loyal followers of Dionysus and are known for their…wild and ravenous ways … and that your mortal parent is still alive, intact, and sane in terms unaffected by godly touch. From both one of the Meanads and Dionysus. Plus, Mr. D himself said you weren’t one of his when the idea was brought forward; he also said despite his disdain of the Maenads, he knows where they are, even the ones that were shipped to Atlantic City. Everyone immediately subtly scooched their chair away from him just in case. Leo and Piper are not so subtly shuddering.
- “The Lampades” are crossed off since they are Underworld Nymphs and aside from being companions of Hecate, they were also servants of Persephone. A chill shakes through everyone’s spine.
- With the list gone through and narrowed down, the only ones left are the Water Nymphs: the Oceanids, Naiads, and the Nereids. However, given that there are 3,000 Oceanids and their 3000 Potamoi brothers, the Naiads themselves have sub-classes, and the Nereids have about 50 to 100 named…
- People toss out the fact if you are a child of Nereid, there are only a few well known Nereids that are significant enough, the most likely to have a demigod would be Thetis given her history with Achilles, but Chiron is unsure; though he does admit he still remembers training Achilles himself and may be sentimental. Also the uncertainty was due to the fact, Thetis has a track record of trying to make her children as immortal as possible and was already very protective of Achilles, so if she had another, breathing demigod child, they can only imagine it would be more doubled-down if she was successful.
- Chiron declares that the meeting is adjourned for now due to how late it’s getting, then getting the Athena cabin help lead the way to researching any possibilities of who your nymph parent is, with those who are willing to help. People give you sympathetic pats on the back and weak words of comfort as you're led to the Hermes cabin. By now, the Hermes cabin has heard of everything as the rumour mill does.
- You merge yourself into camp life, doing the same activities as the other campers like you’re one of them. The days go by relatively normal as you start following the wishes of your parents; with you even making friends along the way. By then, the reaction of people knowing you’re probably half-nymph ebbs and flows; some still whisper as you walk by, and some simply do not care.
- You find things you’re good at and the ones you’re bad at. Though without anything definitive that may help you with who your parent is; given being nature spirits. Even as you help out with the children of Demeter and Dionysus with the strawberry fields, they don’t particularly flourish under your care.
Meg very bluntly tells you unless your parent was a strawberry nymph, then you’re just tapped into having a green thumb. A boy with brown hair and freckles on his face quickly slaps his hand over her face before giving you a stammered apology for his friend before his eyes land on you. You swear you see his eyes flash an unearthly blue in surprise before his breath hitch.
You attempt to ask what’s wrong before the boy excuses him and Meg, dragging away from you. You only see Meg kick his butt, yelling at him in the distance and the boy hurriedly apologising but also gesturing wildly at you.
- Yet between the camp activities and almost mundane acts, you find yourself being pulled to the side occasionally to be asked questions on your parentage. No one’s sure if you’re ever going to get claimed considering that regular nymphs don’t have a claim, nor your deity parent would have a claim that they would recognize. That dose of reality dampens your spirit and you always find yourself in a rut. In those moments, you find yourself either being drawn to the water down by the shore, sitting on the ground and letting the water lap at your bear feet as you stare out at the horizon; or finding your feet taking you towards Cabin 3, The Poseidon Cabin. As if you’re being pulled towards it. You never tried entering in, just staring at the strange familiarity of it.
- Eventually, one particular night, you were having a dream. You know it was something from your childhood and your nymph parent. You were so close to getting that detail but before you could grasp it, you’re startled awake by the foot kicked in your side. You let out a gasp, torn out of your dream as you look at the offender in anger to only see the person next to you hanging in a strange limb covering in what looks like to be military grade sticky string. Grumpy, you decide to take a little walk outside, cooling your nerves. Again, you find yourself at the Poseidon Cabin. You sit at the steps, letting its presence wash its presence over you and calm your nerves.
- “So…uhh, can I help you?” you hear as you jump out of your skin and whip your head towards the sound. There in his glory, you see Percy Jackson. You haven’t seen him before, only hear of him but you feel that strange familiarity. You quickly stammer out your explanation and while Percy seems confused, he listens well before you start to see something like understanding in his eyes.
- There you eventually see Percy more often as moral support. You find yourself easily talking to him as he sort of helps you, teaching you how to fight with a sword and recounts his tale of his own attempt to figure out who his godly father was. You’ve heard the story before but not as detailed and personal from the source. You find yourself enamoured.
- It’s not long after you learn who your nymph parent is.
Everything comes to a head when its time for Capture the Flag. The Hermes cabin are on the Blue team, with Athena leading the charge. Percy pats your back as a teammate and tells you it’ll be fine. He told you how he got claimed but something about it seems like deja vu. The game continues on as it does but eventually you find yourself cornered by a couple of demigods who have taken it their personal mission to bully you for being half-nymph. You fight 1 vs 4 and then you find yourself pushed to the edge of the cliff. Your feet dangerously close and cornered. Yet you hear a voice calling to you to the waters below and you fall back. The water catches your fall, enveloping you like a mother’s hug and then you find yourself being rushed with power.
You rise out of the water, with it swirling beneath you while raising you upwards like a pedestal. You watch your bullies look up at you with awe and fear, as you look down at them. You lost your sword but in your hand was a trident.
The game came to an end with a win to your team and your enemies washed up on the shore. You find yourself walking down the steps of water and then reality hits you. You see Percy and everyone else staring at you. You hear people whispering that you’re a child of Poseidon but as you look at Percy, you see him come to the same conclusion, you both know…you’re not.
Then everyone gasps, yelling at the dolphin claim over your head in confusion before you hear some others curse. You feel the earth start to shake in anger and the waters crash and rumble, causing people to shriek at the rising tide. Your head is desperately looking around as people are scrambling to get out of the rapidly rising water with the ground shaking beneath their shaky legs. You can hear Percy yell furiously at the water, grabbing you to his side protectively as the water takes over. As the water swirls around you, you can hear two people yelling in the water but your ears are ringing.
Percy has you close to his side, making sure you don’t get swept away and you can make out him yelling at a man before you. You see a tall woman with long black hair, pinked back in a net of pearls and silk with eyes dark as mocha; her flowing white gown looked like seafoam, paired with a circlet of polished red craw claws.
By the woman’s side, you saw a man who you see so much Percy in him. The man and woman seemed to be having an argument, their hands gesturing to you and Percy.
The son of Poseidon stood beside you with his sword being held limply before you saw he was getting more and more irritated before he let out a New York whistle, gathering the two’s attention. He started saying something to them with both gods looking a bit meekish before nodding along with whatever Percy was seeing before the two couple seemed to reconcile. The woman leaned down to you, gently brushing your hair gently as you remembered who she was. The man gave you a weak smile and nod, patted Percy’s shoulder.
Your ears are roaring with adrenaline and confusion, and with the swirling tides, you can’t hear anything. So you focus on what’s in front of you. Then it hits you that the woman looks familiar to you, then you see your features on the woman…then you realize, no you’ve been seeing some of her features on your face in the mirror.
The water recedes and you hear people call out your names. You turn as Chiron gallops in front of you as Percy curses. People ask what’s going on before he sighs as he puts a hand on your shoulder, gathering the crowd’s attention with a New York whistle before addressing them.
“The bloodline is determined. Queen and Goddess of the Sea, Consort of Poseidon Hail, [y/n] [l/n], child of Amphitrite.”
SILENCE
Then,
Chaos.
You see the child of Hera and Persephone look at you with a dumbfounded look before they walk over to you, patting your backs in sympathy as you are revealed to be Amphitrite’s demigod child. Completing the Big Three’s Wives’ Demigod Children.
🌊 AMPHITRITE: QUEEN OF THE SEA, GODDESS OF THE SEA, MEMBER OF THE NEREIDS 🔱
Notes:
So it turns out I forgot I had Rick Riodan and Rocco's Percy Jackson Greek Gods book this entire time that I bought YEARS ago, so I dusted it off and read a couple bits and BOY, I should've read it this sooner. I'm now using the knowledge from the canonized information perspective of the PJO's of the gods so here's one of them!
So yeah, turns out out of the Big Three Wives, Amphitrite is the only goddess out of them that has no problems with Poseidon having relationships outside of their marriage and treats his children pretty well. In fact, Amphitrite made Percy cookies, and both of them have a pretty good relationship actually.
Chapter 4: ERIS {Wave 1}
Chapter Text
🍎ERIS: GODDESS OF STRIFE AND DISCORD😈
- When you get claimed, it’s, unironically, utter chaos. People are scrambling away and elsewhere. When you had first arrived initially, things around at camp had been slowly dissolving into chaos; mishaps, increased arguments and fighting, yelling, strange accidents, etc. At one point, you noticed the clouds looked like cotton candy (you see several pegasus flying upwards and are physically chewing on them), with what looked like to be chocolate milk raining down from them. So when you get claimed with the floating symbol of Eris, a golden apple of Discord, you all realise that was just the preview. Things that should not be and could not happen are happening, and you’re the centre of the storm, completely unaffected like a mysterious barrier of immunity.
- It’s only mitigated when a demigod who came to camp with you, got claimed. In the midst of the chaos, you all looked as you saw a floating claim of two Cornucopias. And in a similar manner like you, like a switch had been flipped, the discord stopped and everything was back in perfect harmony. You see Mr. D look at you and the other child before he downs his diet coke before crushing it with a curse before tossing it at the nearest Satyr’s mouth.
- Oh boi, how it feels to be the child of the god that was responsible for what started the Trojan war. Everyone looks at you and wonders if your presence here means that you’ll spark the next Trojan War.
- The Aphrodite and Athena cabins (and the Hera cabin) steer clear away from you in the beginning due to the whole thing with Paris and the three goddesses.
- Eris herself causes trouble and strife wherever she goes, so it was for that reason she didn’t get invited to Thetis and Peleus’ wedding, and in retaliation threw the golden apple which caused the three goddesses to go to Paris and set in motion the Trojan War.
On that principle, you cause trouble in your wake and it’s just part of the course. It doesn’t have to be something deliberate, but it can be just you accidentally bumping your hip against a table, which causes a person to accidentally knock off their drink and it spills onto a child of Ares, and it goes from there. So you either get in trouble or start it: you might even consider stirring the pot or spilling the tea as you will.
- On premise, you start things; whether by sheer proximity or deliberately, mostly for fun. Whether it's encouraging the pranks of a child of Hermes or causing arguments for the sake of arguing.
- In fact, when you were first put into the Hermes cabin, people thought you were a child of Hermes given your mischievous and chaotic nature, and the numerous pranks that you concocted.
- Shenanigans galore.
- You are chaos incarnate. Almost quite literally. Not Chaos the primordial himself but the cause of chaos to be exact. In fact, you know the D&D alignment where there is Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic?Just as all children of Harmonia fall under Lawfuls, all children of Eris fall under one of the Chaotic alignments: Chaotic Good, Chaotic Neutral, Chaotic Evil.
- A weird quirk you inherited is carving into apples. Whether it's writing words into its flesh or just straight up carving into it like its pseudo jack-o-lantern. At one point, you sort of learn how to peel the skin into words. Now only if the satyrs stopped eating the peels as you’re peeling them.
- The Chaos Theory, the Butterfly effect… Those are all things that are part of your power as a child of Eris. You can cause things to happen in a disastrous way which is useful in a quick get-away, getting yourself out of a pickle, or simply putting things into motion. In fact, you could almost see the chaos unfold before it even happens, that is almost seemingly strategic like a child of Athena; except there’s always a side of chaos and unpredictability.
- People often equate Eris’s strife as negative, but that’s not true. It is necessary. You may be seen encouraging the rivalry between two individuals, egging them on, but in the end, you’ve been pushing the other to be better and to stand above the other and make a name for themselves. When things come to a stale-mate and impasses, you are able to rouse your fellow comrades with fire and egg on your enemies to make a mistake.
- No one knows how and the children of Hecate equate your abilities to a specific use of magic, due to the nature of Eris’ discord. If you tap into the ‘chaotic’ nature side of Discord, you can perform eccentric magic that seems almost mischievous and trickster-like; like unseelie court fairy magic. Like spinning gold from hay. Like Maleficent in the story of Sleeping Beauty. You can also pull out some looney-tunes and general cartoony logic out of thin air; enjoying pull off some bugs bunny or Wild E. Coyote shenanigans. So sit back and watch the show unfold before you.
- People will inevitably start pushing you away for the child of Harmonia that was claimed alongside you; given who your respective godly parents are. You’ll feel jealous and hate but don’t hold it against them too much. Just as they bring calmness and harmony to your discord and strife, bringing you some sense of peace to your chaotic life, you help break their monotone and boring life, giving them motivation and energy.
Being claimed by Eris as her kid suddenly made sense in your life. While general discord and chaos was part of your life, you always had thought it was just how you were; causing general mischief here and there with Benny Hill theme playing in the background. Now? It was like living in a Looney-tunes cartoon life which was fabulous.
You weren’t entirely shamed for being a child of Eris but it was starting to irate your nerves when people were contributing all the misfortune and discord happening around camp, especially since it has only increased tenfold since you were claimed. You had assumed it was just because your general energy being a child of Eris, but as you saw domino effects happening that were originating not because of you and the casualties were becoming concerning, you had a sneaking suspicion it wasn’t because all you.
And especially when the children of Hecate, Nemesis, and Tyche start saying that it’s not just because of you-
It all comes to a point when you get slammed in the face by a flying pig squealing as it goes past. You’re seeing stars before you blink and then you see what looks like vapor trails pulsing as they wind and wrap around. You’re confused but as you follow the vapor trails, you see certain directions the vapor trails begin and end.
A memory pops in your brain when you and the child of Harmonia found a place and time secluded enough to catch up, since the campers seem keen on keeping you separate. You remember listening to the child of Harmonia talk about their power, how they could sense things weren’t in harmony like they were tangible and they could be smoothed back over.
You then start to wonder if that’s your version, seeing the time lapse version of how bits of chaos were happening. You rake your eyes all over, taking it all in until you see what looks like a bundle of tangled trails. You follow it as it gets thicker and thicker and your eyes fall upon the said-child of Harmonia, who looks frantic as they look they’re orchestrating with their hands, detangling and smoothing over their tangled trails while also smoothing others. You can see the others being fixed but theirs? It doesn’t seem like it made even a dent.
Then you see it. The trails tangled and wrapping around their neck but specifically the source of it all; the necklace they wore; one they had for as long as they could remember-
You rush over as the necklace seems to tug and the child of Harmonia lurches to that direction by force, their body knocking into a child of Hephaestus, their latest invention clearly fizzing and seizuring before it seems to go haywire, spraying its function as it sends a domino effect as it all goes toward the child of Harmonia . Everyone is either hitting the decks or running out to save themselves as doom headed towards the Harmonia demigod.
“LOOK OUT!” you yelled as you rushed over, using the energy of discord and strife, jumping off an arguing child of Ares’ back as you flew towards your friend. You find the vapor trails and grab it, tugging towards the incoming doom and you begin your own orchestration, causing effects to redirect everything AWAY from everyone and your friend. You’re all surrounded by fire and chaos but everyone is in one piece and okay. You turned to the child of Harmonia who looks at you with awe and fear. Their hands gripping the necklace, as you can clearly see them trying to pull it off.
“What’s going on here?” you all heard as Chiron and Mr. D rush over; the latter’s expression was unusual and was making everyone uneasy.
“It was the child of Eris! They’ve been causing all this trouble-” one blamed.
“HEY!” you yelled back offended.
“Come on, it was that child of Harmonia; you all saw them bump into the Hephaestus kid-” another yelled to your defense.
“They’re the child of Harmonia, how’s that even remotely possible-” another yelled. The yelling begun to grow and grow as people were taking either sides and Chiron was now faced with dealing an angry crowd-
“Everyone stop! It wasn’t them!” yelled the child of Harmonia, soothing over everyone’s angry energy. They all turned to them who had a deer in headlights look, “It…It was me-”
“But that isn’t possible-” someone said but the Harmonia demigod cut them off. “No, it is. I cause this but-”
“But what, child?” asked Chiron gently.
You saw the child of Harmonia try to take off the necklace but as if it had a will of its own, it tug itself back out of their grip. The discord energy you could see around it was growing and you spoke. “It’s the necklace isn’t it?” you asked softly, putting a gentle hand on their hands, making them unwrap their death-gripped fingers. You were also pulling away the energy to re-direct it, but you also knew at that moment that necklace was cursed .
The child of Harmonia looked at you with wide-eyes and nodded. You all heard a deep instake of breath and you turned to see Mr. D with wide eyes. “The Necklace of Harmonia” he said.
There was a ripple of unease as people took a step back away from you two. “What?” you asked confused before Chiron made a grim face. “You two come with me. All cabin leaders come with me to the Big House.”
There side by side, both you and the child of Harmonia were told about the curse of the necklace of Harmonia, and it was clear that your dual appearance wasn’t just a coincidence, and you were there, a child of Eris, for a reason to your counterpart, the child of Harmonia.
Chapter 5: HARMONIA
Chapter Text
🎶HARMONIA: GODDESS OF HARMONY AND CONCORD ☮
- When you get claimed, it's in the midst of utter discord. There are things flying, exploding, the storm is whipping people around and the clouds are made out of cotton candy, raining chocolate milk. You swore you saw a pig flying but then you remembered you saw literal horses with wings, so that’s not the weirdest thing to happen. People are screaming and yelling to take cover and you see the person at the eye of the storm.
A fellow new camper, who came along with you at camp. You briefly knew them on your way to the safety of camp, where things were just happening left and right. You didn't know any better, thinking it was just how things were when you entered the world of gods and monsters, but as soon Chiron yelled about the new camper being claimed as a child of Eris, everything just made sense.
You weren’t sure if you were sympathising with them or you had gotten close, but you couldn’t see your fellow camper in such…disarray when you saw the child of Eris’ distraught look. You blinked and suddenly you could see the lines of discord. You reached out and almost as if you were de-tangling them, the chaos begun to die down. Then everything felt at peace and steady, before not long you heard people gasp and you look up where their eyes are staring at to see a claim above your head and Chiron announcing you are a child of Harmonia: the goddess of Harmony and Concord. The direct opposite of the newly claimed Child of Eris. - People flock to you with your harmonious vibes, your melodic voice. In fact people expect you to have a harmonious life but that isn’t the truth; whether you do get along or not with the child of Eris, you constantly run into each other and butt-heads together; just on principle. You faintly hear someone one time, speak off-handedly that your relationship is much like the child of Tyche and Nemesis.
- You can just play the Harmonica really well as it’s just an inherent and ironic gift. Which is fun at campfire time when you're singing and playing with the children of Apollo.
- You know the D&D alignment where there is Lawful, Neutral, and Chaotic? Just as the Children of Eris are all Chaotics, all children of Harmonia, all fall under one of the Lawful alignments: Lawful Good, Lawful Neutral, Lawful Evil.
- You have the effect of bringing balance and harmony.
- You can kind of feel odd that you’re technically Mr. D’s aunt/uncle, since his mother, Semele is the daughter of Harmonia and Cadmus.
- Speaking of Semele, you quickly learn about the curse of being Harmonia’s child. The first thing you learn about is the threat of the Necklace of Harmonia, a necklace that was crafted and gifted to Harmonia at her marriage with Cadmus; but as the necklace got passed down to her daughters, it’ll all brought them horrible ends.
In fact it was rumoured that Semele was wearing the Necklace at the time when Zeus released his true form, causing her death; and Hephaesteus himself; due to Aphrodite, his wife, cheating on him and producing several children with Ares. - While no one knows where the Necklace of Harmonia is anymore, it’s still lethal to whoever comes into possession of it and suffers a terrible fate; usually deathly. With your existence, it’s only a matter of time that the necklace of Harmonia will surface once more from the ashes and it’ll find its way to you.
- With Hephaestus, however, you quickly soon find out that Hephaestus’s curse is more broad when every time you approach the Hephaestus cabin and their forge, things will go haywire and every time it will be directed at you. When you’re around his children, something always happens so you start having to avoid them entirely.
- While getting along with the Aphrodite cabin is to be expected, people don’t expect you to be able to get along with the Ares cabin. Whether its due to the sheer harmonic vibe or whatever it is, you manage to get along with the children of Ares more often than not, even calming them down when things get too intense. You’re often called upon.
- You soon learn you have the ability to boost morale, bringing people together even under the unlikeliness of times (though not always). You learn this is because Harmonia presides over soothing strife and discord, and is in charge of Harmonious action of soldiers during war. This often makes you the peacekeeper, the hype man, and so forth.
For as long as you could remember, you had something around your neck; like an amulet, a choker, ribbons, ties, necklaces. You couldn’t remember if there was a time where your neck was bare. Your mortal parent never said anything about your neck accessories, in fact seemingly fond of one necklace you wore; which you always assumed belonged to your departed birth mother and you continued to wear it from then on.
In fact you were more surprised that you didn’t have any neck related injuries with how klutzy and accident prone you were. Even more so, when you and your friends got attacked at school by a monster, one of said- friends revealed they were a Satyr and that the two of you were demigods. The trip to Camp Half-blood had been chaotic, more ways than one, with almost seemingly wacky situations that even your satyr friend seemed awfully confused at.
You didn’t think much about your necklace until you were claimed. Then suddenly, it gets weirder. People comment on your necklace all the time and you would tell them about it, but it was almost like people were drawn to your necklace like it was the first thing or the next thing they noticed, and comment on how good it looks. While not out of the ordinary, it was however odd when their description of the necklace varied wildly; from how it reminded of their grandmother’s necklace, to a forgotten favourite accessory they loved, to designer pieces like Pandora brand.
You had a growing suspicion but when you went to the Aphrodite cabin due to Harmonia being a daughter of the goddess, everyone’s heads almost whipped towards you. They all begun to comment on your necklace and all of them were so different. Many got into arguments on the necklace they were seeing and it was only Piper McLean dragging you out of the cabin out, did you realize something was wrong.
You both tried to get the necklace off, but the clasp wouldn’t budge, and the length of the necklace just seemed to be small enough to be unable to slide over your head either (even though you knew the necklace seem to hang comfortably from your neck-).
You even tried to get it cut off with the help of a willing Hephaestus children, but their own tools seemed to break first and the necklace was fine; then things went downhill from there. You already were wary of hanging about the children of Hephaestus due to repeated incidents but ever since you tried to get it off? It increased tenfold. Their inventions would explode around you or went haywire, going towards you. Even the Hephaestus demigods were avoiding you as well because of it.
The incidents kept going and going, and as you tried to mitigate the discord and minimise the damages, they kept increasing and were getting worse; with the necklace seemingly getting heavier and tighter around your neck.
You were lucky you had a friend in the also-newly claimed child of Eris. They rushed towards your rescue, using their powers to direct all the chaos, discord, and incidents away from everyone, re-routing their paths from everyone.
Then you were brought to the Big House, before you were told about the Necklace of Harmonia. The necklace was gifted by Hephaestus to the marriage of Harmonia, daughter of Aphrodite and Ares, and Cadmus. While it didn’t befall any danger to Harmonia herself, as she was a goddess, the necklace was passed down to her daughters and each who inherited it faced misfortune…like Semele, Mr. D or Dionysus’s mother; as she wore the necklace when Zeus revealed his true self to her, evaporating her.
It was then you realised why Mr. D looked at you with some sort of affection but also distance. It was also then you realized why you couldn’t be near any of the children of Hephaestus as it was his curse towards Aphrodite and Ares, and by that extension Harmonia and now you.
You felt a comforting hand from your Eris friend, which you squeezed back. Then you were told that the Necklace was supposedly taken to the Temple of Delphi but was stolen and got lost in a fire…everyone thought it was gone but somehow it ended up around your neck.
It was clear that this wasn’t coincidental, with neither your dual appearance with the child of Eris, who was there to help balance everything out… and it was time for both of you to see the Oracle on what must be done.

Chapter Text
💀 THANATOS: GOD OF DEATH, PERSONIFICATION OF PEACEFUL DEATH 🦋
- Welcome to the impossible births club like the Athena kids. Thanatos is considered a virgin god. I think it’s not because of chastity or abstaining, but because Thanatos is the god and personification of Death itself; so his interaction with mortals always ends in their passing. Not to mention, being a lieutenant to Hades, he’s usually very busy. How you are born is up to theory but there are a few, limited, possible ways:
a.) Just like Psyche and Eros where the former didn’t know Eros looked like, you do have a mortal parent that Thanatos fell in love with, but Thanatos remained invisible mostly when his eyes fell upon your mortal parent, keeping most of his deathly potency away. However, the whisper of death clings to you and your mortal parent. A curse of death for life and love.
b.) You did the whole rebirth thing where you died as a baby or child, and Thanatos took pity on you. He fed you ambrosia and his godly essence with you, before you were allowed to bring back to life when appealing to Hades and Persephone, who allowed you to go back to the world of the living; however, you are a servant and denizen of the Underworld.
c.) you were conceived when Thanatos fell in love with a mortal and when they crossed into the Underworld, they were finally to be seen together. However, when Thanatos was chained and the Doors of Death were forced to be kept open, your ‘mortal’ parent left the underworld searching for your godly father to free him. However, your parent was delayed in reaching Thanatos because with life now flowing, you were allowed to form and thus, you were born into the world of the living.
- Regardless, you are one of your kind and if ever there are other children of Thanatos, well you’re in the same boat or one of the following listed above.
- You have also inherited something from your godly father more than just the normal appearances (i.e. his golden-honey eyes, darker than black hair, his teakwood colour skin), you’ve also inherited his dark wings. Now before you get too excited, these wings do not grow along you in life. Your wings grow alongside you with death.
- When you were first born into the world and drew your first breaths, you did not come with fledgling wings sprouting from your back. Your fledging wings sprouted from your back when you experienced death for the first time. Your wings started to sprout and show like tiny buds when you ignorantly crushed ants beneath your feet when you were a child and it was like being stabbed with a needle with your wings breaking through. You cry and the pain only gets worse as your wings grow and grow when you witness and are basked directly from (non-violent) death; whether you experienced death first hand or even hearing your classmate’s relative dying from cancer.
- The pain and growth increases depending on the life; from the least to the death of bugs & insects to the worst & most growth with human life. Your wings were inherited from your godly father, the personification of Death. It is only natural that your wings will only grow and be a physical reminder of death itself. Whether your wings, feathered or like a butterfly, are a hue of blue, black, or purple can only be told with time and your journey in life alongside death. The weight of your parentage is constant on your shoulders and back.
- Whether or not you know you are a child of Thanatos from the get-go, you are not exempt from being claimed when you reach Camp. It is a quiet claim but a deafening one. A downturned torch where its glow was dim. Smoke and mist rose around you, and the patch of grass that had once blooming flowers began to wilt and turn brown. If you haven’t had your wings yet or your wings aren’t as prominent, with his claim, your wings grow just slightly, the hue of your wing shining beautifully slightly yet eerie looking.
- If you arrived at Camp Half Blood, and whether or not you decide to stay at Camp Half Blood, you are temporarily assigned to the Hypnos Cabin; as much as Thanatos was seen together with his brother Hypnos. While traditionally, you would be assigned to the Hermes cabin, unfortunately you slept like the dead; figuratively and literally which freaked a lot of people. Around the children of Hypnos you fit in a lot better and Clovis advocated your stay with the approval and insistence of his father.
- Being the child of Death itself, allows you much of the powers of a child of Hades or something very similar. You can use necromancy, summoning skeletons to your aid in battle and whatnot, but you can’t control death; just because you are the child of Death, doesn’t mean you are exempt from the same laws and limitations as a child of Hades or any mortal at all. You may not be able to shadow-travel, but if you don’t, you can turn yourself invisible much like your godly father. It’s a skill that requires practice, just as much shadow-travel, and how long you can keep it up will depend on you.
- Another power of being a child of Death, is you can see someone’s life-essence. Think of it as an aura that radiates how much life they have and what they are. Very useful in telling who is a monster in disguise or seeing someone who is possessing someone who shouldn’t be possessing. On the other hand, there is the inevitable sense of mortality when you see their aura and time dim.
- You carry the linger of death you go and those who pass you by, will feel the cold shivering breeze around you. Only a few are not fazed by it, but you mustn’t lose your control,
- Being a child of Thanatos is a heavy burden but you must live because what is life without death?
“So that’s how I was born” you finished saying, telling to your present company of how you came to be and how you were a child of Thanatos. The eyes on you were nerve-wracking and your wings fluttered and jittered in unison with your emotions.
You winced and whispered “sorry” when the tip of your wings almost grazed someone, not that used to having your wings out.
It also didn’t help when Thanatos claimed you, they also got bigger so there were things to get used to. You didn’t like having your wings out in public, even around other demigods. Your wings were a constant reminder of your heritage and you wanted to keep it a secret, the truth of the wings where they appear when you’re around death, growing alongside with every life taken.
“That’s a pretty loaded backstory” blurted out Frank finally and Hazel immediately elbowed him as he winced at his words and pain.
You could help let out a nervous laughter as you responded with,“It sort of is, yeah. In all honesty, I didn’t believe it myself until Hypnos told me in my sleep. Even then, I don’t think I’ll ever wrap my mind around it completely. Not to mention, that there were other demigods like me and there’s a camp of all things.”
“Well, don’t worry about that! We’ll help you get settled in and help you if you have any questions!” said Hazel and you gave a sheepish smile.
The daughter of Pluto had arrived with Frank when you all made landfall in Camp Halfblood, Nico expressly relieved that his sister was with him.
You met Nico first who looked at you and was out of his depth. It wasn’t only after you absorbed the death of a monster, did Nico tell you that Hades had told him about your existence and told him to find you, and in accordance take you to Camp. Which camp he didn’t specify but after some debate, it was better to take you to Camp Halfblood because your presence at Camp Jupiter wouldn’t be taken too well.
“Well…I guess the first thing to do is get you settled in” said Nico, rubbing the back of his neck. “We talked it over with Chiron and Mr. D and they said instead of staying at the Hermes cabin, it was best for you to stay at Cabin 13 with me until we get confirmation from Thanatos about what kind of Cabin he wants.”
‘It was safer for everyone if you stayed at the Hades cabin just in case’ was left unsaid.
“In all honesty, I really thought I wouldn’t be allowed to stay here since well…” you gestured to yourself with a nervous gulp as Nico scoffed.
“If they allow a son of Hades to stay, they’ll have to allow you. Besides, you’re a demigod like the rest of us so you have a place at Camp just like the rest of us” said Nico.
“That’s right! If anyone gives you any trouble, don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll be there right with you!” agreed Hazel as Frank nodded.
You felt your chest warm up a bit as you all approached Cabin 13. Despite it’s dark exterior, you felt a certain pull to it as Nico and Hazel opened the door for you.
“Once again, Welcome [first name, last name] , child of Thanatos, servitor of the Underworld, to Cabin 13, the Hades Cabin.”
Chapter 7: MORPHEUS
Notes:
I see you Morpheus demigods out there, this is for you. Also because in the books, there was a reference that there are demigods of Morpheus, but we don't really see any but they exist sort of? So, we all know the drill!
Thanks for reading and have a nice day!!
Chapter Text
💤 MORPHEUS: GOD OF DREAMS 💤
- When you get claimed, you have a very similar experience to the children of Hypnos; where it involves sleep. However, instead of falling asleep as soon as you get a claim like a Hynos demigod, you have a dream where Morpheus used his realm to meet you and basically say, “You are my child” while everyone is forcibly evicted from their sleep and dreams to see the claim hanging above your dead-asleep body.
- You were still dead-asleep in the dream realm and after Morpheus left, cause this was a major gray zone he was doing, a chosen child of Hypnos would appear in your dream and give you the down-low, while the rest of them had to trudge up the Hermes cabin where you were in, and basically carry you to the Morpheus cabin.
Why you may ask? Well Morpheus’ claim was dreams and touching your vicinity would make anyone else fall asleep and have either a russian roulette of forced dreams; whether they were good or bad dreams, no one knew but anyone who had fallen under the spell would not wake up easily. The only exceptions to this case were the children of Hypnos and a few children of Hecate. - So your first morning as a child of Morpheus would be greeted by the children of Hypnos looking down on you as you stared up at their eyes and a new roof of the Morpheus cabin. What a way to wake up.
- Being a child of Morpheus obviously deals with dreams and sleep, but your powers are more in the former than latter… and no, it’s not Morbin time. Yes you have the power to make someone fall asleep but you can’t hypnotise someone like a child of Hypnos.
- At the minimum, you can give someone a nice daydream or daymare (day-nightmare) and making someone fall asleep and manipulate their dreams. To the max, if you’re a powerful Morpheus demigod, you know and can see people’s dreams, peering into their psyche as if to even bring it into the reality. You can also bring their nightmare to life and truly make it a living nightmare.
- With Morpheus being also referred to as the Sand-man, you also inherited this aspect. You can manipulate sand or dream-sand to be exact, and you can use that as your advantage. Think of Sandy from the movie “Rise of the Guardians”.
- While the children of Hypnos have this duty as well, they’re basically chronically asleep so you’re the next person to go for deciphering dreams. You make good business in helping people decipher their dreams, to see what the future is talking about and the occasional love drama you get from the children of Aphrodite. On a serious note, the children of Morpheus act as consultations on dreams; especially if they are Prophetic dreams. While prophecies are not your realm, you learn a thing or two from the children of Apollo and Hecate (maybe sometimes even from the gods themselves), deciphering dreams based on symbols, places, and etc.
- On the flipside, Morpheus is also considered the messenger of the gods who appeared in the dream of kings in human guise, so you’re also relegated as messengers of the messengers of the gods. Depending on how you feel, it is either awkward, terrible, fun, or an honour in delivering messages to certain recipients that you get from your dreams. How you feel depends on the context of the message and who you have to deliver it to. You did not enjoy delivering a message to Clarisse la Rue from her godly half-brothers Phobos and Deimos, nor did not absolutely enjoy almost feeling the wrath of her spear and rage.
This is why people keep saying, “don’t shoot the messenger”
- You’re also chronically tired ™ like your Hypnos cousins, but just 40% of the time. Instead of falling asleep like your cousins, people often find you daydreaming and being in your own little world
- Your godly father’s reputation precedes you in more ways, with him being responsible putting all of Manhattan to sleep during the Titan War, and in the Roman’s eyes, they stiffen around you and act very tense on the job, as Morpheus’ Roman side, Somnia, alongside his father Hypnos, Somnus (r.), killed those who weren’t alert at their jobs.
- Despite being the child of Morpheus, the god of Dreams, there’s a good chance that you don’t have many dreams yourself. It could be because you are perfectly able to lucid dream or are like the children of Hypnos who enter people’s dreams and float through the astral realms, or your dreams are hijacked being a messenger of the gods, dealing and talking to gods, or having to oversee people’s dreams; no matter how you feel on it. You’re also busy taking people’s bad dreams away and making them good dreams (or vise-versa), taking that energy to yourself as a sort of substance.
However, just like the children of Hypnos, don’t spend your time too much in the other realm or you won’t find yourself coming back to the land of the living.
You felt like you were having a headache but you weren’t really sure if you could have a headache when you were technically passed out and asleep and be lucid dreaming all at the same time.
Especially when you’re face to face with the man you’ve seen in your dream occasionally, only to be revealed that this entire time he was Morpheus, your godly father who revealed to you just now.
“Wait, so all this time I thought you were some boogey man that’s been haunting my dreams for years, was you? Morpheus? The god of dreams who is also my father?” you asked, trying to wrap your mind around it.
“Boogey man, sandman, however the mortals like to call me, they’re all me” said Morpheus as he leaned against his seat.
“Wait, should you be even talking to me? All the other demigods say that the gods don’t really talk to their own children cause of some law?” you said, panicking.
The setting of your dream world shook in response to your emotions. The dreamland you were in was created by Morpheus was modelled after a place you felt more comfortable to you; as he said, it allowed him to see more about you.
Morpheus waved his hand flippantly, switching and stabilising the dreamland to something else that you were familiar with.
“ Bah , as if they don’t do the same here in the world of the wake and the world of dreams,” said Morpheus with slight distaste, “Besides, the dream world is a different reality that is made and managed between me and my father, Hypnos. I would like them to see them have any thoughts and be barred from seeing their own children in their dreams.”
“Do gods dream?” you blurted out.
Morpheus gave you a look that started to make the world around you distort. Your ears were ringing while also sounding like it was being put into a vacuum chamber and it kept building and building until-
Everything was back to normal.
“Of course we dream” Morpheus stated before he cocked his head to the side. “Now my time has come and by now everyone in that camp knows who you are.”
“Wait what-”
Morpheus waved his hand and the world distorted for a moment before another kid like you came stumbling in, as Morpheus scoffed. “One of my mortal half-siblings will fill you in the rest. Have a good time and learn well from Chiron, [first name]. Until we meet again.”
Before you could even process what he said, Morpheus disappeared as he came all of a sudden.
“I’ll never get used to him doing that” said the mysterious kid.
“Wait, who are you? What did he mean that everyone in camp knows?” you stammered out.
“Hi, I’m Clovis, son of and cabin leader of the Hypnos cabin” he introduced as he yawned. “That’s why Morpheus referred to me, and the rest of my siblings as mortal half-siblings.”
“Okay…can we get back to what did Morpheus said that everyone in camp knows? What do they know?”
“Oh, right” said Clovis as he seemed more awake. “Well…apparently, while you were talking with Morpheus, he basically ejected everyone in camp from their sleep to see you being claimed…while you’re still sleeping in the real world.”
“WHAT?!”
“Yeah…even us the children of Hypnos were ejected out too. I’m here to explain everything to you while the rest of us are currently carrying your actual body to your cabin.”
“Wait, why are you carrying my body?” you asked, your mind reeling from everything.
Clovis waved his hand and showed you what was basically you being carried by a bunch of kids who all shared the baby face appearance. There were also some holding people back and some further ahead to clear a path while you were still dead-asleep like a pile of rocks. All in the dead of the night. The rest of the campers were either looking very sleepy and dead on their feet, or were lighting the path in front of you.
You felt your face burning as Clovis patted your shoulder. “Yeah…basically Morpheus’ claim is so strong that anyone who is close to you or tries to wake you up puts them to sleep…and while that may not be a problem right now, since it’s night, everyone who touches you gets thrown into a nightmare. So it falls onto us, the children of Hypnos and the few children of Morpheus, to carry you to the Morpheus cabin.”
You had your face in your hands to try and hide but because this was a dream, you could see yourself putting your face in your hands and still witness the scene in front of you. Clovis finally releasing you from your embarrassment waved his hands away to clear the image before he spoke to you.
“Well…you’re the first child of Morpheus that we’ve had in a while, and the last one isn’t used to this procedure yet so it falls onto me to give you the rundown of everything. Welcome to the Morpheus cabin Cousin” introduced Clovis as you groaned. This dream was actually a nightmare in disguise.
Chapter 8: ZEPHYROS
Notes:
Another Popular minor god let's go! Zephryos or Zephryus will always pop up like a random but welcome breeze, so it was only fitting to do a demigod imagine on him. Also either I'm not looking in the right direction or I see a lack of Zephryus demigods. No idea if he would make a good godly dadza. Now to see if anyone picks up the references I've put in from another fandom.
Chapter Text
🍃 ZEPHYROS: GOD OF THE WEST WINDS, PERSONIFICATION OF THE GENTLE WEST WIND AND SPRING.🌷
- If you’ve ever heard of “Spring is in the air”, there is no better term used for Zephyros because that essentially sums up his entire existence. This also applies to you everytime you make an appearance. Whether you bring love in the air or smell like flowery perfume (the good kind that brings you ease and happiness), it ranges a bit.
- When you get claimed, you can hear the singing of swans as the wind blew gently from the west, carrying the smell of Spring almost like a herald…even if it’s not even Spring anymore. Unironically, your claim in Camp Halfblood takes place at Zephyros Creek…the creek that is literally named after him that runs through the entire forest.
- As one of the more popular, minor gods, your presence as a demigod and your powers are also notable…which isn’t as much of a problem if it wasn’t much of a learning curve. Unlike where it’s pretty simple for the major gods where it makes relative sense of their domains and concepts, for Zephyros it’s less on the nose and requires some actual studying; from the winds, horses, spring, love, and etc.
- As a child of Zephyros, you obviously have the power of the winds at your command. However, he is also technically a god of springtime, you also have the power to grow and manipulate plants, though not as much as the child of Demeter. Makes sense if you think of the wind carrying the pollen, helping the growth of flowers and the Spring wind heralds the changing of the seasons from Winter. If you’re at Camp between the seasons of Winter and Spring, you’ll find yourself in the company of the children of Demeter.
- What no one tells you at first, despite being a god of the winds, you expect to have some connection to birds like the Swans from earlier, you learn you also have a connection with horses; as Zephyros has turn into a horse and had pulled Zeus’ chariot with his brothers against Typhon. So Pegasus flying is almost like second nature to you but slightly left field. Good thing you have the children of Poseidon because you two can gossip and complain with the pegasus…though why is that you feel a certain draw to certain pegasus…?
- You also find yourself being drawn to and from the children of Iris; where you learn that Iris told them to make you feel welcome and extends you an invitation to drop by her Organic shop anytime, the children of Apollo surprisingly; once everyone got over the fact about their parents’ thing over Hyacinth, they welcomed you greatly and especially appreciated you spirit over any injured patients over or simply growing some well-need plants at that moment. Plus, every so often, you all get together to have a small music break and not surprisingly, you find yourself gifted at wind instruments.
- You also meet Lester or a.k.a. Apollo as well around this time. He welcomes you as much as he can and while you appreciated the gesture, you knew he carried guilt and awkwardness towards you, forcing himself to show you that he had no qualms and in extension, show Zephyros that he regretted blaming your godly father for Hyacinth's death and to show he wouldn’t be petty and harm his own kid; even if he knew that received help during his own powerless moment.
Luckily for you and him, Zephryos written a letter for Apollo that you gave to him, explicitly stating that Zephyros that was sorry as well and forgave Apollo long ago. You find yourself having another father figure in your life through Apollo, who constantly invites you to his and his children’s activities.
- You find yourself being in the company of the children of Aphrodite. Zephryos famously has a connection being in the service of Eros, bringing Spring (i.e. romance) in the air, but there’s also his and Iris’ son; Pothos, the God of Sexual Longing, Yearning, and Desire, who is also an attendant of Aphrodite. So whether or not you have a particular interest in romance or whatever, the children of Aphrodite are more likely to share their secrets and gossip with you and even help you from time to time.
Or you’re going to be the one spreading those juicy gossip and spilling the tea to the people of the Aphrodite cabin (and those who feel so inclined) about So and So being seen together while holding hands.
- You quickly figure out that Zephyros is rather well-known around Camp, outside of his presence in Greek Mythos, as you find out that from Annabeth, like her, a lot of them were brought to their mortal parents from their godly parents by Zephyros. Somewhere down the line, you find yourself able to find out whose unclaimed demigods’ parentage is because Zephyros touch lingers on them, leaving you in a dilemma if you’re allowed to say it.
- In terms of physical attributes inherited from your father, this is what’s going to be a nightmare for you. At first you thought you might inherit wings because Zephyros is often depicted with wings, but if your claiming doesn’t trigger it, then you might not have wings at all. Though this is not a problem with flying as you can manipulate the wind to help you fly.
No, what’s a nightmare is that Chiron sat you down and told you that you might be able to turn into a horse because Zephyros has been known to turn into a horse, so you may be able to turn into that…but what really threw you in a loop is that you may possess the characteristics of a tiger because he’s also the sire of Tigers. So Tiger, Horses, and Birds oh my! good luck with that!
- On the other hand, you’re going to have an animal companion; whether its a tiger, horse, or birds; though usually swans but not limited to it. Afterall, pegasus are considered horses too; so there’s that. For all you could know, you may have crows as your companion(s); though they’re a rather chatty bunch so you are probably going to call them as Chat. Or Bryan- for that one crow that can speak rather human like.
Everyone stared at you with open gaped mouths as the claim of Zephryos floated above your head. The swans were singing and flapping their wings in Zephyros creek. The wind gently blew from the West as if Zephyros was gently running his hand over your hair, giving you a light kiss on the forehead. There was a waft of floral scent also coming from the West, and it smelled familiar to you.
Everyone was staring at you with a range of awe, surprise, and absolute recognition. The weight of the stares was starting to make you awkwardly hot and uncomfortable. Silence gradually filled in when the swan singing started to fade off into the distance, only the wind swaying of the trees with the sound of the water running through the creek. It was then you remembered that you had the flag in hand, the fabric flapping in the wind earlier like some epic painting when you reached the goal. It was a whirlwind of events when you felt yourself flying, your feet carrying you like you were absolutely nothing. At first you thought you were definitely a child of Hermes, with your feet running like you had wings on your feet but then when you were getting pincered from all sides. You were cut off by the enemy side and the only exit was a cliff and the next thing you knew you jumped off the cliff in a run, and as you fell, panic hit you as you realized you couldn’t land safely and the creek wasn’t that deep to sustain your fall.
It was at that moment the wind blew from the West and swirled around you, carrying off into safety into the waters. You botched the landing and did a couple stumble but you took that then going SPLAT.
You wondered if you should say anything when people weren’t really moving, whispering amongst themselves, until you heard a whistle that came off rather musically impressed and then a clap of rhythm. Your eyes turned to the source to see a boy with brown hair and eyes but when the sunlight filtered through the gap of the branches, you swore you saw blue instead.
“Well, certainly Zephyros knows how to make an entrance, not that I wouldn’t do either of course” said the boy. “I think we can say Capture the Flag is over right Chiron?”
The centaur shook out of his stupor and cleared his throat, regaining his composure. “Yes, that would seem to be the case” he said before he turned to the other campers to say that Capture the Flag was now over and your team cheered in victory.
You were rushed over by your teammates for securing the win and congrats on being claimed. You thanked profusely, still not sure who claimed you until you saw the boy from earlier, that your brain hazily remembered as some from the Apollo cabin.
“Well I never expected to see a child of Zephryos to appear, much less when I’m at camp. I guess there’s no real bad blood anymore if he’s open to claiming his kid in front of me.”
“Uh, wait Zephryos? He’s my dad? But isn’t he the god of the West wind-”
“Yes, Zephryos, God of the West Wind as well as the personification of it and a god of Spring you can say” he said, before gently gesturing you out of the water and that’s when you realize your shoes and socks were absolutely soaked and very uncomfortable as they squished with every movement.
“I don’t think he would have a demigod” you admitted.
“Well, Zephryos and I were both interested in a lovely human man named Hycanith, though he got jealous that Hycanith accepted me as a lover. It’s a long story but it seems like he had moved on some time to have you” smiled the stranger.
“Wait, I remember that story…but you? The story had Apollo-” you started to say but you cut off your words when it hit you. You turned to the stranger beside you and now you could feel it.
“Ah yes, it’s a rather long story but I’m in my mortal form. Here, I’m called Lester Papadopoulos but those who know, know me as Apollo.”
You gaped at the god next to you as he smiled like sunlight. “Welcome to Camp Halfblood, [y/n], child of Zephryos”
Chapter 9: PROMETHEUS
Notes:
SURPRISE! Guess no one expected this huh?! Since Prometheus is not a virgin god and literally created humans and from the PJO books, I remembered him saying he loves humans, I thought there's no way that this Titan has not at least once fell in love with a human and had a child in turn. So why not throw a curve ball for a final bang! So here we go!! Hope you enjoy the last demigod h/cs of {Wave 2.0}!!!
Chapter Text
🔥 PROMETHEUS: TITAN GOD OF FORETHOUGHT AND CRAFTY COUNSEL, CREATOR OF HUMANITY, BRINGER OF FIRE 🔥
- Prometheus claims he’s always been an ally of humanity so I’d imagine he has a few times mingled with mortals and produces a demigod every so often (that ranges every hundred years to maybe a century). So you are probably one of the few that exist, if not the only one in your time.
- You arrived at Camp Halfblood much like the others and acted pretty much like a regular unclaimed demigod. If you came before the age of 13, there were many theories of who your godly parent was. The only indication who it might be was Apollo, given your regular visions but what confused the children of Apollo was that your vision shifted time to time. Your visions revealed many results but they weren’t clear either. If you are at least the age of 13 when you arrived, you weren’t immediately or quickly claimed, leaving other to still speculate. It is much the same speculation from before but things start to shift as you saw your claim again and again; possibilities of how it could happen and what came after it.
- Your claiming arrived when you decided to go with the best vision you think of, and gathered the counsel of the cabin leaders and Chiron and Mr. D, with Hestia in the corner for some reason. You revealed your vision, describing it in detail then everyone gasped as they looked above your head. You already knew how it was going to go yet you still looked up. It feels like a bit out of an out of body experience when your vision is happening in real life. Mr. D choked on his diet coke at the sight as he cursed not having an alcoholic drink right now and while most of the campers were confused, the head of the Athena cabin enlightened you all. Then you all learned you were a titan demigod of Prometheus.
- Blessed Hestia. You were (forcibly) summoned to Mt. Olympus on the pretence that you had to pay for Prometheus’ crimes on his behalf; you had a mini vision of facing the same punishment as your godly father. The crackling of the Hearth made you turn and you whispered Sanctuary, remembering something and you saw Hestia smile.
- That’s when Hestia stood up, holding Pandora’s Pithos, and basically said because Prometheus was responsible for stealing fire for mankind, which in turn fell under her domain of the Hearth, it would be best if you served under Hestia and to tend and protect the hearth of Olympus and Camp Halfblood, while also protecting the Pithos that contained Elpis (Hope); seeing as Prometheus was the one who gave Percy Jackson the Pithos as a way they were giving up to the Titan Army. Zeus made his own unsaid narrative that Hestia said and decided that it was a fitting “punishment”.
- While you weren’t happy about the situation, you knew you got the best result in the situation; your forethought visions flashing in your head like bad anxiety thoughts. In privacy, around the hearth at Camp with Hestia, she told you the truth; how before mankind knew fire, Prometheus took the coals of the fire from her Heath that she tended to on Olympus. She didn’t elaborate but you pieced it together that Hestia might have allowed Prometheus to take the coal and giving mankind fire. If that was true, then she was repaying Prometheus a favour…and in turn you.
- You have the power of forethought which is different from having the power of prophecy and foresight. Unlike the children of Apollo and those who can see the future, you can see possibilities of the future and in turn are more frequent and are more vague in nature, rather than a singular truer future.
- While you may have inherited the gift of forethought from Prometheus (and perhaps general clairvoyance), you also inherited his aversion and fear of large predatory birds; particularly Eagles and Vultures because of the whole getting his liver getting picked out and eaten every day. Its bad enough that when you just see the symbol of an eagle/vulture, you just nope out of there or feel the area of your liver is located pulsing and twisting in pain.
- You would think being a titan demigod would deter people away; especially when it’s a Titan that’s been in direct league with Kronos. Well, it did at first but when they saw you working with Hestia at the Hearths, news of your forethought abilities led to you being accosted. It might have started when you talked with a daughter of Aphrodhite who was loudly lamenting about her love troubles between two boys she liked when she burnt an offering to Aphrodite, and you absentmindedly responded that was one was a jerk, or was it when you listened to the rumblings of Athena kid who burnt an offering to Athena, who was listing off possibilities and you gave your own two cents, but now people are coming to you at the hearths for advice and your two cents on the manner. That’s when you learned that you did in fact, inherit Prometheus' Crafty Counsel.
- If you think you’re outcasted by being a titan demigod, you’re not alone. The children of Hecate start to come around to you and provide comradery as they explain that technically, Hecate is also a titan god as she was born during the times of the Titans, and was the only one among the Titans to retain her titan status under the Rule of Zeus and was honoured by all the immortal gods. So by technicality, they are also titan demigods as well.
- When Prometheus came to talk to Percy Jackson during the war, he was about 7ft tall in his ‘mortal’ size, so there’s a chance that you may have inherited that height.
- Being a child of Prometheus and sort of worshipper to Hestia, by choice and not, you eventually learn all the tea. Over actual pots of tea. People start to complain or gossip over the pyre, when they’re sacrificing bits of offerings to the gods, when they borrow your ear and two cents for a bit, and so forth. It feels akin to people chatting around the kitchen stove, and you’re the one that just gives a quip or two as you help serve some snacks and food. You asked Hestia once if this happens before you came in and you saw the twinkling spark in her eye as she gave a polite, sneaking smile.
- Speaking of which, you eventually learn you have a connection with fire, ranging from resistance to fire to actually weidling it. You have no idea if it’s between being a child of Prometheus and with a connection to Hestia, but you’re not in a hurry to find out why in case this would only draw the eyes of the gods onto you; specifically Zeus.
Your nerves were on fire, the flames being as powerful as the first fire for humanity; the importance and weight of its flames that was carried into Prometheus’ hands, its heat spreading into his titan veins and now passed down into you when sparked and kindled. It was going out of control, its flames threatening to escape from your nerves and spread to your entire body and consuming you entirely.
The godly presence and wrath of Zeus consumed you, bearing down on you, his eyes piercing down at you as if you’re Prometheus himself and simply an innocent child who carried the sins of their father instead. You could feel the stormy rage the King of the Gods swirling around you, crackling and choking you in his storm, ready to pass judgement on you in the slowest way possible.
You could see it all. All of the possibilities that Zeus and other gods’ punishments onto you, simply for being Prometheus’ demigod child, all of them were flashing in your mind. You weren’t sure if you were simply seeing them out of anxiety or was it your inherited gift of forethought from your forefather.
Then a gentle hand stoked and tamed the flames, slowly controlling the flames from a crackling bonfire to a gentle warm, fire. You felt the calming hand pressured against your back, slowly patting your back and patting in a gentle rhythm. You let out a gasp of air, your breathing becoming less laboured and more tempered, your heart no longer beating in anxiety.
The adrenaline was calming down and you stared at the flames of Hestia’s hearth, the goddess of said hearth had poured you a nice warm drink and pressed it into your hands. Her hands coaxing your death gripped fingers from your palms to wrap around the cup, holding your hands to it to provide warmth from the cup to warm your cold anxious palms and her warm hands warming the outside of your hands.
The smell of the drink comforted you as you heard the occasional crackle of the fire. Then you remembered you narrowly avoided many of the harsh punishments by the grace of Hestia. There was some bitterness that you were still punished in the end and there was some logic in Hestia’s words, but at the same time, you loathed and understood it.
“I know it’s not fair to you child” spoke Hestia and you snapped your head up at her as she smiled at the Hearth. “My brother, as wise as he may be, is still the god of storms and his temper lashes out like lightning to a lightning pole.”
“But why me? I didn’t have to do anything with the war, heck I was still an infant!” you protested.
“You did not but Prometheus was and because gods cannot punish another god unless directly faced, so the gods can only rely and punish mortals instead.”
You were about to retort but then you saw Hestia give a silent gesture, her eyes knowing yet warning. You shut your mouth as you sighed, drumming your fingers against your cup.
“Then can I ask something else?”
“What is it?”
“Is it really because Prometheus stole the coals from your Hearth that you and Zeus, I guess, that you suggested this…arrangement?” you asked, “How could Prometheus even steal the coals from your watch?”
Hestia smiled and as she raised her head from bowing over the Hearth, you saw her change from child to an adult, and through the flames, you knew the truth. Hestia allowed Prometheus to take the coal from the Hearth that provided fire to humanity. Her domain expanded in turn because she allowed Prometheus to give mankind fire.
If this was true, protecting you like this was a thank you to Prometheus in a way.
You stared at her wide-eyed and made an “oh” as Hestia hummed, before handing you a freshly baked roll. You took it and took a nibble letting the sweet honey coat your tongue and when you remembered about the cup in your hand, you realized it was still warm to the touch.
Chapter 10: THE MUSES' DEMIGODS PROLOGUE
Chapter Text
🎶 THE MUSES/MOUSAI: THE INSPIRATIONAL GODDESSES OF MUSIC, SONG, DANCE, INSPIRATION OF POETS 👯♀️
In an unexpected rare event, several satyrs arrived at Camp Half Blood simultaneously with several children who bore similar yet individualistic traits. Everyone rushed to greet them while the Hermes cabin rushed to clean up and deactivate the pranks they set up to make up room for this group of newly arrived demigods. A week had gone by and some, as they got used to the camp and its inhabitants to get to know these new demigods.
At first, many thought these groups were related to one another by a single parent for they not only looked similar to each other, but also acted as such; but there were little differences that made them think differently.
It was only when everyone was gathered around the amphitheater for the campfire. As s’mores were eaten and snacks were had, the Apollo cabin led the music and singing when the truth was revealed. The newly arrived group begun to sing and recite hymns, all harmoniously and everyone watched and listened in awe. Meg and a few others had noticed Lester, a.k.a Apollo and Mr. D jolt up and stare wide eyed at the group, with looks of disbelief.
When the verse had finished, lights floated above their heads, Apollo and Dionysus rose up and looked at each other with passing looks. With only the exception of the grasshoppers, silence fell everyone as they stared at them in confusion before it slowly morphed into nervousness, including the newly claimed demigods that made everyone around them slowly inch away just in case. The two gods looked at each other and nodded before they announced that the newly claimed demigods were the Children of the Muses.
Chapter 11: 📝CALLIOPE🗣
Chapter Text
📝 CALLIOPE: MUSE GODDESS OF EPIC POETRY, ELOQUENCE 🗣
- Calliope is the Muse of Epic Poetry, where it's a narrative poem typically about the deeds of the characters who deal with the gods and other superhuman forces, allowing to give shape to the universe. Thus, you are able to learn the history and epic deeds of the people you meet, allowing you have an idea who they are and what they will achieve in the future.
- You’re basically a bard, and not just someone who recites poetry. Sure you can be a typical bard (though in all honesty all the muses are all bards), you can melodically weave your words together with your stringed instrument to inspire your allies, demoralize enemies, and achieve effects as you want.
- With Callope as your mother and being the muse of Eloquence behind Epic Poetry, you have also have strong charisma. Whether alone with your words or together with your music, you are able to push yourself forward. Fitting as Calliope is considered the leader of the Muses with her wise and assertive nature.
- Being a distant half-sibling to Orpheus gives you an idea of what you can achieve. Much like tuning your string instrument, you must tune into yourself to reach into the depths of your soul to bare yourself forward to others, which allows others to listen to your cause.
Much like Orpheus’s ability in singing his grief of losing his wife, Eurydice, that made all the nymphs and gods weep, as well as softening the hearts of Hades and Pesephone that allowed Eurydice and Orpheus to reunite in the living.
- You may or may not have inherited Calliope’s assertive nature but it's for sure you have more wisdom than average. I wouldn’t say anything like a child of Athena, however, you do have a leg up and your inherited wisdom leans more towards complement and contemporary thoughts, allowing you to grasp and develop abstract thoughts.
However, in good time, you are able to gain more wisdom by developing your art, eloquence, and gaining valuable experience through trial and error.
- You’re often seen carrying a scroll, book, or notebook filled with your own musing, music, or what have you. This is because Calliope is often depicted carrying one of the such following. If demigods were allowed to use modern technology, you would also be seen carrying a tablet.
- Since Calliope is the muse of epic poetry, that basically contains a person’s history and acts they have committed, you may have the slight power to see briefly a person’s past, present, and future. Nothing prophecy-like, but simple glimpses of the chapters of their lives. However, you can only do so when you know a person’s ‘music’. How you achieve so, you must find out.
Chapter 12: 📚CLIO🎶
Chapter Text
📚 CLIO: MUSE GODDESS OF HISTORY, LYRE PLAYING 🎶
- Much like the child of Calliope, you are also a bard. However, unlike Calliope’s demigod, your speciality is lyre playing. Your fingers are more deft than them, and once you’ve played a song, you are able to remember how it goes.
- With the muses, they tend to have a lot of overlap which can lead to confusion to which of the Muses specialize in; case in point where Clio and Calliope are often mistaken or placed for one or the other, so both you and the child of Calliope resemble each other the most and people will confuse you two for each other, whether as twins, cousins, or fellow half-siblings.
- Unlike Calliope who sings and tells the deeds of heroes, being the demigod of the Muse of History, is different from Epics. Epics are basically telling the tales about a person, you don’t just know something about someone, you also know about everything about what was going around that time of when that person was in.
- Not only does History come more easily to you, you are able to memorize past incidents and actions. Although you’re not sure if this is a factor in your memorization, with the help of music helps you along; whether remembering the music you listened to at that moment to recall back to, or memorization things based on musical notes.
- You have the power of Retrocognition; where you have visions of the past. This is basically the opposite of foresight where you see into the past and basically acts as a helpful reminder of things people may have missed.
However, you know the words “Those who forget History are doomed to repeat it?” yeah that’s basically what you’re role is. You remind those of the past so they don’t repeat the same mistake, and often with people’s hubris, end up foretelling the future as such.
- You’re the least compatible with Aphrodite or her children due to the Adonis incident where Aphrodite was furious with Clio, who had chided the love goddess for loving Adonis, to which Aphrodite caused her to fall in love with Pierus, son of Magnes, who later bore Hycainthus.
- Hey at least you’re distantly related to Hycainthus! (though you have no idea why there’s that one kid who keeps giving you sad smiles. Meg tells you that he is reminded by someone)
- You also have the slight power to peer into someone’s or something’s history. Which may deter some people but in times it is very useful. You’re often to the medical ward at camp to see how a camper got their injury and how it exactly happened.
Otherwise, you are also called as a neutral party where you help settle arguments of who did what in a neutral way, before soothing everyone’s anger with your playing.
- Out of the Muses, you’re the expert in Lyre playing; your fingers easily plucking in the string backs and forth, with deft fingers; as you regale of times of what once was of times of good and bad.
- You’re also more adept in archery because of your lyre playing skills. Whether you have a taste for it or not, your experience and hardwork is shown in the calloused fingers familiar with string are an easy transition in archery.
Chapter 13: 🌻 POLYHYMNIA 🙏
Chapter Text
🌻POLYHYMNIA: MUSE GODDESS OF (RELIGIOUS) HYMNS 🙏
- Being a child of Polyhymnia is both very clear cut but also very confusing. Because while Polyhymnia is the muse of religious hymns, a lot of greek mythology that is told over were a part of Ancient Greek culture and religion, so all hymns could be religious.
- Regardless, you have a spiritual aura around you and paired with your deep, serious, thoughtful disposition, you match Polyhmnia’s nature with her pensive nature. People know if they want to have a deep insight into their thoughts, they can come to you.
- Speaking of Polyhminia’s pensive nature, while you are just as good at playing instruments and dancing, you’re more known for often evoking melancholy tones that resonates a deep feeling to your audience. Your movements are often either quiet or soundless but filled with meaning.
- If you’re not much of a talker or a verbal person, don’t worry about it because this is somewhat understandable. Somehow people can understand you just with gestures or minimal words. Polyhymnia was able to dance and convey her meanings in silence. (Refer to: Nonnus, Dionysiaca 5. 88 ff (trans. Rouse) (Greek epic C5th A.D.)
If that doesn’t work, you can also just write what you want to say and that is fine too. - If you like Sunflowers, then you are in luck! Polyhymnia is alternatively called as ‘Polymnia’ which is also the genus name of the American plants in the sunflower family. This also includes flowers like aster, daisy, dandelions, and etc. You’re often growing sunflowers or have a bag of sunflower seeds to munch on.
- That said, this is probably why Polyhymnia can be considered as a goddess of agriculture. You also can be found with other children of agriculture and fertility, helping grow strawberries in the summer and gourds in the winter.
This is also where you are able to have a plot of sunflowers growing high and tall. You and the children of Apollo always have a giggle and have fun dancing with the sunflowers as their heads turn to follow you.
You’re also known for growing dandelions to add to the Camp’s foodstuff to add to their salads and greens, while also creating a small supply of dandelion tea and coffee. If anything, the Nymphs and Satyrs are happy to have you around! - You often share sunflower seeds with the child of Euterpe and Erato as one enjoys whistling and playing their flute at the birds, and the other with their turtle dove pets.
Chapter 14: 🎷 EUTERPE 🎼
Chapter Text
🎷EUTERPE: MUSE GODDESS OF FLUTE, LYRICAL POETRY 🎼
- Out of the muses, you’re the only one who doesn’t play the lyre or a stringed instrument; although you very much can. Like Euterpe, you excel playing at wind instruments; though your main instrument is the flute. While you can play the more ordinary flute, you are actually cracked at playing the ‘aulos’ a double flute.
Alright before you think you can dual wield flute playing, double flute usually means double-reeded wind instrument like the oboe and bagpipes. Though if you can try, you can probably do that double recorder playing where you take two recorders and blow into them together and play the cords with one hand each. - Many don’t think carrying a flute will be handy other than playing spells like the satyrs do with their panpipes and such, which you can achieve as well by stimulating the wind as it whispers through the air out of your instrument to bring out the call of nature.
- You have at least one flute that is made out of celestial bronze that you can just whack monsters in a case of emergency. There’s also a flute somewhere that has a hidden blade made out of celestial bronze that you can pull out when you come across a monster. How it works as both a weapon and as a flute, you’re not sure but hey, it’s kind of cool.
- Euterpe is the muse of Lyrical poetry, where in Ancient Greek where Verse was accompanied by a lyre, cithara, or in general a string instrument and were sung, thus also being called melic poetry. So this is where your ability to play the lyre or any hand played string instrument comes into play.
However, because Euterpe is also depicted with a flute at times, you can also say she and therefore you also specialize in elegies as they were accompanied by the flute. Elegies were poems of shorter series epics that covered a wide range of subjects. - Although Euterpe’s name is “giver of much delight” and you generally have a light personality to you, you can also be insightful and reflective, giving people insight.
- Regardless playing a string instrument or wind instrument, your usual music tone is on the higher, light, quick playing matching Euterpe’s name. But when you can also play a more serious, low tone alongside the child of Polyhymnia.
- Paired with your flute or your whistling, you often are in the company of birds as you tweet your flute and song towards them. Something you find enjoyment with the demigod of Erato with their turtle doves. The child of Polyhymnia joins you sometimes with their endless supply of sunflower seeds that you all feed the birds…and sometimes at the Satyrs.
Chapter 15: 💃TERPSICHORE🩰
Chapter Text
💃TERPSICHORE: MUSE GODDESS OF LIGHT VERSE AND DANCE, CHORAL SONG AND DANCING🩰
- Alright out of all the muses’ demigods, you are the best dancer out of them and it’s not uncommon for you to dance while playing simultaneously. If you need a reference how well, look up Lindsey Stirling and how she dances while playing her violin.
- That said, you are also known for really dancing even while fighting, in fact, if you are so inclined to, you may have the talent for Sword Dancing.
- You can of course play the Lyre but in this case, Terpischore is often depicted also playing with a Plectrum, which is basically a guitar pick. So in theory, you can also play the guitar like its second nature to you.
You can also somehow play the lyre like it's a guitar or with the pick so there you go. Or any stringed instrument that uses a plectrum, like the Shamisen. - With your inhibited need to dance and move your body, the actions of your dancing help with exaggerated tones as you play your instrument.
- The Sirens are technically your half-sisters so you may also have the same ability like them or something similar to you; something along the lines of a shared effect that your musical talents can provide those with a sort of enlightenment and can draw people in into a lull.
Be careful when you’re performing as you sing and dance because you will be able to hypnotize your audience into a frenzy. - You don’t have to worry too much about your siren like qualities though because around your other muse cousins or those who are used to magical musical enchantments, i.e. Apollo kids, they’re used to this kind of thing and can gently nudge you into breaking the hypnotization.
Most of the time though around them, their music helps negate the effects, though you can boost the effects if need be around them.
- What no one says is that you might have a soft spot in the eyes of Persephone and in turn, Demeter or Hades, depending on the situation. This is because of the Sirens, who are Terpsichore’s children were Persephone’s handmaidens before the events of Hades.
Therefore you can be found around the children of Demeter and the children of Hades. (Demeter was also the ones who turned the Sirens into bird-like beings to search for Persephone, so that’s why you don’t have any avian qualities).
Chapter 16: 💖ERATO👋
Chapter Text
💖ERATO: MUSE GODDESS OF EROTIC & LYRICAL CHORAL POETRY AND MIME👋
- You are unsurprisingly the romantic of the group, considering Erato’s name is “lovely;beloved” and is considered a muse of romantic poetry.
- Though when I say you’re the romantic of the group, I don’t mean that you are basically the Lover of the group as your sole defining feature. You are romantic where you are imaginative, a visionary, and have an idealized idea of things. Search up the artistic movement of “Romanticism” and that’s what I mean.
- Though it’s not surprising to wax poetically if you get what I mean.
- You are absolutely a hit with the Aphrodite cabin and every other love stricken person, where you can easily relate and trade romanticism back and forth, and even help putting peoples’ feelings into poetry.
- Valentine’s day is an absolute hoot for you and you team up with the Aphrodite and Apollo kids mainly, with other few interested few, in doing Valentine singing grams and laying all the romantic mood for those inclined.
You also work with the Demeter kids to help grow roses to make wreaths of Myrtle and Roses for that special day…to which somehow got out of Camp and now along with Strawberries and Decorative Gourds, wreaths of roses are now an income for Camp Halfblood. - At Christmas though, you’re not any less busy and whether or not you celebrate it, there’s a special connection with the song “The Twelves Days of Christmas” because not only is it a true love song, it features “two turtle doves” which are Erato’s animals that are sometimes depicted with her. In fact, you have two turtle doves that you adore.
- You’re also pretty good at miming which you use fully to make grand, romantic gestures in how you move through day to day.
- Along with the Clio demigod, you are the next muse who is very adept at Archery. This is because Erato is sometimes depicted holding a golden arrow, which is a symbol of ‘eros’ and at times, she is accompanied by Eros. So by extension you are very good at Archery.
- Speaking of eros, Erato is known to inspire ‘eros’ in people and charming people’s sight, you have a similar ability to Charmspeaking. You can technically do something similar to Charmspeaking but it comes in full power when channeled through your music.
Otherwise, you have the ability to direct people’s eyes to ‘fall in love’. I wouldn’t say you can make a person fall madly in love with something (though it’s not out of the question), but you simply make people find love in the target. This helps if you too, find something lovely about the target, inanimate or animate, and with the practice of romanticism, it’s everywhere.
Heck you can make someone fall in love with a statue like Pygmalion falling in love with his statue Galatea- no wait, hold on, don’t-
Chapter 17: 🎭MELPOMENE🍇
Chapter Text
🎭MELPOMENE: MUSE GODDESS OF TRAGEDY🍇
- Alright out of the muses, you have the flair for dramatics, particularly for the macabre variety. You’re often described as being dramatic yet very serious in your pose. How, no one knows but you pull it off.
- Melpomene is the Muse of Tragedy, and while you know all of William Shakespeares’ tragedies not only Romeo & Juliet and Macbeth, you’re very good at remembering Julius Caesar, Timon of Athens, and Titus Androncius, you’re first and foremost familiar with the Ancient Greek Tragedies of Sophocles, Euripides, and Aeschylus.
- In terms of play and theater management, you’re the one leading it most of the time out of the muses and in turn, you’re the one who interacts with Mr. D the most. Not surprising because particularly Greek Tragedy, were also used as ritual rites while both being carried out by and dedicated to Dionysus so if anything he’s going to have a few says.
He’s the Theatre director and you’re the producer basically. - Despite Mr. D’s casual reference that they used to sacrifice goats, you came to a compromise: the goat would be used as a mascot for the plays and theaters, instead as a sacrifice, but in turn you would allow any Satyr to take any part if they chose to.
- In terms of weaponry, your preferred weapon is the sword as Melpomene is portrayed holding a sword. Alongside though, you’re also known to wear a mask into battle, another of Melpomene’s symbols.
- What no one expects is that you insist on wearing boots. Not just any boots like rainboots or uggs, but Buskin boots or something similar to Cothurnus boots; boots that go to at least your knee or half way up your calves as Melpomene is shown wearing them. You have a large variety of boots that fit any occasion and you can smoothly walk across the stage and fight just as well even in your platform boots.
Many Aphrodite children and even Ares children ask for tips how you wear these boots so well. - The Sirens could also be considered your half-siblings which explains somethings as your chanting during your theatre productions charms the soul of your listeners, and also explains many of the tragedies the Siren orchestrate in front of them as they tempt sailors to their deaths.
On the other hand, your singing/chanting reveal your audience the themes of human nature and the dealings with mortal rights and wrongs, thus giving them enlightenment in each individual. - What is unexpected is that because of your knowledge in tragedy, that deals human nature, moral rights and wrongs, and your in depth knowledge of Sophocles and Euripedes, you’ve also become a person who provides great psychological and philosophical thoughts and discussion. Mr. D has given you some coaching in peoples’ mental health and dreams, so you’re not alone with that responsibility.
You’re often approached by Apollo children who want a couple of insights in their patients, approached by the Athena children for some deep thought, and in general, you often hold a theater session about these subjects.
Chapter 18: 🌟URANIA🌠
Chapter Text
🌟URANIA: MUSE GODDESS OF ASTRONOMY, ASTRONOMICAL WRITINGS🌠
- Out of all the muses, you’re not the most inclined to be the musical or artsy type; where you mostly prefer to sketch out astrological charts and poise out philosophical thoughts. If you do find yourself in a musical or artsy mood, nothing gets you more inspired than using astrology and astronomy more often than not.
Which when you tap into your musical talents, you provide philosophical and imaginative inspiration to your audience, lifting peoples’ spirits as if to heavenly revelation.
- You’re great at directions, time, the changing of the seasons, and the like as many of which uses astronomy as a key figure. You can figure any of the which just by looking at the night sky or even just looking at the shadows of objects projected by the sun. So you’re never lost, whether on land or on sea.
Although it’s not usually needed, you carry a golden compass around that is a related symbol of Urania. Your compass isn’t one of those ordinary compasses as it’s a timepiece with not only moving dials but it also shows the occasional movement of the planets. Sometimes though, if you look into it long enough, you feel like you can see the future. - In some cases, you are also able to predict the weather to some degree just by sheer connection of the planetary alignment, the earth’s rotation, and so forth. What’s special is that you are also able to somewhat predict even the lightning strikes and rumbles of the gods; to which Mr. D and Chiron appreciate the heads up for.
- As ironic as it sounds, you’re either also into astrology or become interested in it. Y’know those horoscope pages that you see? Yeah that, except it's more or less accurate and is basically foresight but slightly below it. Like Urania, you’re able to foretell the future by the arrangement of the stars.
However, if you want to foretell an individual’s future, you’re requirement is a bit more specific as you have to ask what the individuals’ natal signs are. For those who don’t know, finding out your natal sign requires you to know the date and time you were born, where you were born in, to find out what your signs are; that include not only your SUN, MOON, MERCURY, RISING, MIDHEAVEN, VENUS, MARS signs. Those are easy to find out but the key parts is finding the signs people forget about, like their TRUTH NORTH NODE is.
The more information your client knows about, the more you can discern their future. - You know the “The Road to El Dorado” stars meme? Yeah, that’s basically you’re literally saying “The Stars are not in position for this” and going “Stars. Can’t Do it. Not Today” either seriously or whenever something inconvenient happens.
- Because you have a connection with the stars, you are able to connect with them and talk to them to gather their wisdom and insight, and if you have a deep enough connection, you are able to borrow their skill and/or power. Your own natal signs that fall underneath them or relate to them is also influential to which ones you have a stronger connection with. It also helps that you know which stars are above you at the time and place, and whichever is in orbit is stronger to talk to.
For example, you had to gather and listen to the stories of Zoe Nightshade, the previous lieutenant of Artemis, and hear about her backstory and history. The more you learned about her, you were able to talk to her from the stars and she often gives you insight and guides your hand when you wield a bow and arrow. Now whether or not you listen to her about her opinion on men is another thing.
- You also have a slight connection with the hunters of Artemis, where they talk about astrology and astronomy with you, as they rely on it for directions and the stars are in the same plane as Artemis' moon. There's also this one hunter though among them that is a bit different and when you recount your interaction or conversations with Zoe, she gives you a relieved yet melancholy smile and thanks you. You haven't noticed it yet that there's a slight silver shine to you.
Chapter 19: 🎭THALIA🎉
Chapter Text
🎭THALIA: MUSE GODDESS OF COMEDY, BUCOLIC POETRY🎉
- Be prepared for the most ridiculous, wackiest mistaken identity to exist at Camp Halfblood with Thalia Grace. People when they first hear Thalia, will either likely think that you’re the child of the muse…or just as likely, think you’re the child of Thalia Grace, the daughter of Zeus and the lieutenant of Artemis and her Huntresses. Good thing you are bestowed with the sense at the comedic timing of all this and take it in good stride. On most days.
- You’re good at taking complex things and breaking it down to something simpler, as well have a love of nature, reflecting Bucolic Poetry of Pastoral literature; where its features themes of nature and honest hard work, as it presents idealized landscapes and gives refuge for romance and nostalgia, times of a simpler, idyllic life. Think cottage core vibes.
- You love playing pranks and jokes that are simple and fun that are unharmful and aren’t at people’s expenses. Like staining everyone’s tongues with a colour that everyone can point out at each other and laugh together with. There’s no point in comedy or being festive if someone isn’t having fun!
- Regardless if you’re an introvert or extrovert, you have a skill with people. You are amicable to others which is useful when entertaining on and off stage, keeping people happy or in a good mood, as well hyping them up. Off the stage, people are drawn to you based on your personality and find you nice.
- You also have a skill in herding and crowd control. Thalia is sometimes portrayed with a shepherd’s staff which is a symbol for her being the muse of Bucolic Poetry.
This has also allowed you to have an affinity in herding sheep or any livestock, as well as keeping crowds of people in control when its a packed house. You might think it’s not a very useful skill but wait till you have to heard a bunch of out of control Satyrs or helping a bunch of campers into formation.
In other news, you could always use the curve tip of a regular shepherd’s staff to do a skit where you drag a performer off stage. - In terms of fighting, you’re pretty good with a spear from wielding the shepherd’s staff around long enough. You have a great grip and control with it, as you twirl it around and bend it around. It helps that you use a bendy spear/staff to do with your skits as you lean on them to taunt your foe.
- If you’re ever feel like you can’t keep a good front on your face, you have a handy comedy masks that helps save your energy on smiling by shielding your face. It’s also very daunting to see in battle when it helps lower your enemy’s guard when they see a smiling mask coming right at you.
Speaking of shields, your mask also function as and turns into an actual physical shield that you can use along with your spear. People often are thrown off guard when they see a shield of a grinning face pointing at them that both has an effect of lowering their guard at you but also unnerves them.
It’s all fun and games until you find out that Thalia Grace, demigod daughter of Zeus, also uses a Spear and Shield…and she has an enchanted shield too…
Chapter 20: 💖AGLAEA💋
Notes:
Hey everyone! here's something I did for {WAVE 3.5} and what better else to follow after the Muses, why not the Charities/Graces? (Okay yeah, I planned it this way). Starting off with Algaea since I saw that Algaea has been popping up lately (looks at Honkai: Star Rail 👀)
Anyways, thank for reading and hope you enjoy!
Chapter Text
💖AGLAEA “GLORY/SPLENDOR” ONE OF THE CHARITIES AND GODDESS OF BEAUTY, SPLENDOR, GLORY, AND ADORNMENT 💋
- You share many similar qualities with a child of Aphrodite, the point when you first appeared in Camp, people honestly believed you were a demigod of Aphrodite. When you were claimed by Algaia, it made sense when Algaia was considered the (second) wife of Hephaestus, either replacing Aphrodite or was another name of the goddess of Love and Beauty due to their similarities.
- For simplicity's sake, you are pretty much like a child of Aphrodite but just slightly either off from them or not as extensive as Aphrodite. There are also minor differences that could be said as specifics of the abilities and qualities that you share with a child of Aphrodite and vise-versa.
- You have a similar power that relates to Charmspeaking of Charm Manipulation, where in the case as a child of Algaia, the charity of adornment and glory, you’re power in Charm Manipulation is best effective in emboldening people with positive affirmation and praise.
You can make people feel better and have confidence in themselves with their traits, which gives them courage and keeps their heads held up high. So rather than say, charming someone, just like the Charities, they enhance and elevate aspects of individuals.
It's very useful in giving your teammates a pep-talk and a pre-battle speech that lifts everyone's spirits as they fight for glory and victory. You are also attracted to and by the children of Nike and Ares for this reason.
- The Muses are considered great friends of the Charities, and they often overlap each other in terms of realm. Out of the Muses, the children of Erato are the closest to the child of Aglaea, some mistaking you both as siblings/cousins.
- You have a love of crafting, particularly fabric work. The charities helped create a robe for Aphrodite with their weaving. You are pretty good with weaving but you’re more interested in the yarn and threadwork, probably because Aglaea helped pass the yarn and thread to Aphrodite when she tried to outbeat Athena in weaving.
If you like embroidery, knitting, or anything that involves thread as a main component, you’ve inherited that part from Algaia.
- That said, you’re often found helping with alternation and creating clothes or fabric items that are used in camp. With a bit of spellword and handiwork, the camp t shirts have never been more better than ever. You’re also taking commissions and favours from everyone for pieces. The Aphrodite cabin are your main sponsors, the Hephaestus cabin are your close second, where you two often talk about your crafting works.
- This is a bit of a long shot, but I can imagine once you get the flow of weaving and the whispers of the threads, you can pull and tug at them to make them weave however you want, which is useful for not only getting intricate weaving done but also in a fight like a puppeteer.
- You may also have inherited being a pseudo-messenger like a child of Hermes or Iris, as Aphrodite sent Aglaea as a messenger to Eros. So not only do you have graceful and beautiful footwork, you’re also faster than average. Though you’re not going to be venturing in the underworld and delivering messages.
- Speaking of messages, you become one of the sources for hot gossip. You know how people move their mouths while they move with their hands during weaving, needlework, and so forth? You’re often seen talking with someone and you’re often hear stories or news from someone, and sometimes, you can be found weaving words and tales into your fabric work, and when you give your weaves tales to a person, they are embolden by the clothes that contain the wisdom and emotions that it contains.
Your fingers were nervously threading itself with the ball of yarn you always keep in your pocket. It was a force of habit as you couldn’t keep your fingers to yourself, regardless if you were focused, bored, or anxious. If you didn’t have anything to keep your hands busy, you would start picking at the threads of your clothes or worse, your skin.
It was only when an elderly woman decided if you were going to move your fingers, you might as well use them to knit. It was probably your grandmother or another elderly blood related relative perhaps, or simply an elder. Then again, it was a group of elderly women so it could be anyone.
Thus here you were, already constructed a square of knitted thread with your bare fingers. You itched for your crochet hook or knitting needles, but you didn’t dare to move that much from the people surrounding you.
“Well,” spoke up Piper as she looked at you, “I can say their power is like Charmspeaking but it's not as powerful as mine.”
“I wanna say it's on the same level as Drew’s, but it's definitely not as forceful as her’s, thank goddess” drawled Valentina as she tapped her chin.
“So they could be a child of Aphrodite?” asked someone.
“I guess…? But something doesn’t align” started Piper, “Not that I’m not against you being my half-sibling!” she said to you.
“Oh, its okay. You’re very nice and pleasant but something doesn’t seem right either to me” you explained with a reassuring smile.
“Perhaps, though there are other love gods, Aphrodite’s children are often the ones with ability to charmspeak” pondered Chiron out loud. “However, there is one other possibility that bears a close resemblance to Aphrodite”
“There is?” asked Piper.
Chiron nodded. “Although she is a minor goddess, she is often referenced alongside with Aphrodite and share many qualities. So if this child is her demigod child, it wouldn’t be a surprise to be mistaken as a child of Aphrodite” the centaur said. “Not to mention, their knitting work may be a hint.”
“What?” said Valentina as Piper looked at the hand knitting you were doing.
She made a look of wonder at the patterns and shapes you had made with the ball of yarn you had, and that you had done that in a short amount of time with your fingers alone.
“Oh, that is so beautiful” commented Piper as your face flushed.
“Oh thank you” you replied as you held it up for her, and everyone else to see. “Just a habit though.”
“Can I have a closer look?” asked Piper.
“Oh, yeah. Here. I haven’t tied the thread yet so careful with the ball of yarn” you said as you passed your work and the ball of yarn to Piper.
The moment you passed the yarn to her, a glowing light appeared over your head which caused everyone to snap their heads up at and gasp.
You looked up as well, and saw a floating sign.
“As I thought. It is determined. Aglaea. Glory. Splendour. Hail, child of one of the Charities.”
Chapter 21: 😄 EUPHROSYNE🥂
Notes:
Here's the 2/3 part of the Charities/Graces! I see so little of Euphrosyne, in myths and just fanworks. Hopefully I gave her some justice and service because of the literal crumbs and vague reference to her in the myths.
Chapter Text
😄 EUPHROSYNE “MERRIMENT” GODDESS OF GOOD CHEER, MIRTH, MERRIMENT, AND JOY 🥂
- Out of the three Charities/Graces, Euphrosyne is the least described yet the most obvious. She is the charity that brings merriment from the smallest act to the grand banquet scales.
- The closest reference to a child of Euphrosyne to be another god and demigod would be the children of Dionysus and the children of Hermes, but just below them.
Euphrosyne is paired in a mosaic with Acratus, the celebratory spirit of unmixed wine, so as a child of Euphrosyne, you’re close with Dionysus and his children, even if you can’t drink wine or any alcohol for that matter. It’s no matter if you celebrate in what you can, and often the first one to raise Cheers! At any given moment. You’re also the life of the party and an excellent host, making sure people are doing well and having fun. Anytime there’s an event or celebration, you’re hyped for it because it's going to be so much fun!
- You are also often around the children of Hermes for their mischievous nature, bringing merriment and joy with your pranks and tricks to bring a smile to someone’s face. There are also the children of Iris who are typically quite a colourful bunch so you find no shortage of all sorts of joy among them!
- You’ve heard that you’re like a cupbearer, as people point out that they often see you topping people’s drinks in your vicinity, or tending to people’s needs to make everyone have their share. It wouldn’t be too much of a point if you’re not partaking in the festivity or enjoying yourself, but it's just one of those quirks. Though you’re not left out either because the children of Hebe, who was also a cupbearer, often help top of your drink as well.
- Every time there is a competition or something like ‘Capture the Flag’, your voice is the loudest in cheering. It doesn’t matter who you’re cheering for. Heck, if you’re partial to cheerleading, then you’re seen doing a little cheer or even forming a cheerleading routine with a couple others!
- Out of the muses and their children that in terms of similarity to the most, it would be the child(ren) of Melpomene and Thalia. Melpomene with the shared connection with Dionysus and their theatrics are often used to bring relief or merry. Thalia the Muse because of your similar personalities and making sure everyone is being merry.
- If you know about Marie Kondo, you’re basically the embodiment of “Does this spark joy?” where you basically help people find a little bit of joy in their life, or make more room for it. You in turn provide some internal perspective as you give insight into people’s emotional health.
- Everyone finds you quite pleasant around Camp, being the demigod of joy, merriment. Of course, people aren’t going to immediately and automatically love you, you’re not a God obviously, but there are aspects of yourself that people find some joy or merry in.
Like you held the door open for someone when their hands were full? Helped someone pick up their fallen belongings? Gave a positive comment? Those kinds of things.
- Euphrosyne is said to be a lover of song, so if you have an affinity towards music, then you’re often seen listening to music, making personal playlists or recommending music to individuals. You’re also found jamming it out with the children of Apollo.
“You know as the cupbearer to the gods, I don’t often get my own drink topped up” Ganymede said as he watched you do so.
You weren’t sure
why
Ganymede was at this small party you were hosting, but as a good host you offered him an invite
(it wasn’t surely because he was also a god and you did not want to be a bad host and get the wrath of Ganymede and Zeus for violating the law of hospitality or snuffing a god out either surely-).
“Well, I’m just doing my part to make sure everyone is having a good time and being a good host” you chirped up as you grabbed a tray of freshly baked spinach puffs. “Spinach puff?” you offered first as Ganymede stared at the baked goods before taking one between his fingers. That was when you helped yourself, sighing at the crispy pastry and warm spinach on your tongue.
“What exactly are you celebrating?” Ganymede asked, the gold accessories jingling and glittering in the light, as his hand gesturing to the party.
“Well, I heard it was someone’s chinchilla’s birthday, then someone said they got accepted into a prep school, then someone else said their aunt was out of the hospital, so it just became a party of many things” you rambled off, counting your fingers as you recounted the events, “but do we need a reason to be merry?”
Ganymede stared at you in disbelief before he let out a chortle,“Certainly not. If that was the case, then I wouldn’t be so busy serving Zeus and the gods' drinks” he said.
“Here, here” you cheered and raised your drink. Ganymede immediately clinked his cup to yours before downing your drinks.
Ganymede let out a sigh, taking some time to pick off a nacho chip and popped it into his mouth, before he grinned. “Well, at least let me help fill the drinks cause we both need to take time off to celebrate, child of Euphrosyne.”
Chapter 22: 🍇 THALIA🎉
Notes:
Here's the final, long-awaited Charities and the most funniest and convulted one too. You saw the Thalia Muse demigod hc, I think you can guess what's this one is going to be like.
Chapter Text
🍇 THALIA “PLENTIFUL/LUXURIANT” GODDESS OF FESTIVITY AND BANQUETS 🎉
- Be prepared for even more ridiculous, wackiest mistaken hijinks to exist at Camp Halfblood and Camp Jupiter. If you have read the Muse’s Thalia demigod H/Cs, then that’s just the tip of the iceberg. People are going to think you’re related to Thalia Grace, the lieutenant of Artemis, the demigod daughter of Zeus, and if that wasn’t bad enough, you’re going to be mistaken with the child of Thalia, the demigod child of the Muse Thalia, and vise-versa.
Even if you try to differentiate between Thalia the Muse or The Charity, people will still misunderstand the demigod Thalia Grace. Especially the Romans at Camp Jupiter refer to the Charities as the Graces. Even then, there are some people who interchange Thalia with Charity or Grace.
- If you’re a person who prefers harmony, being a child of Thalia would be right for you as Thalia was described as being a “Darling of Harmony”. That and you have perfect harmony for music and dancing as well.
- In terms of resemblance with our gods and their demigods, the demigod of Thalia would be the children of Demeter, in terms of that Thalia also means ‘plentiful; plentiful; abundant” which sounds quite like Demeter with her being the goddess of Harvest and Fertility. Both are responsible for banquets and great feasts and with the child of Thalia’s aspect of power, they brings plenty to the table as well as bountiful crops from the fields.
- I can also see the child of Thalia having some resemblance to Hestia as well; or what they stand for. As we know Hestia is responsible for the hearth and she gets every bit of everything that is sacrificed to the gods, so she provides and gains plenty. It may be a bit of a stretch, but I like the idea that the child of Thalia pays tribute and respect to Hestia (more so then the average) because without the Hearth, there would be no warm flame to cook the food nor light the banquets, providing festivity with her flames in times of dark times or to signal a bright occasion.
- The child of Thalia has no major power to speak of, aside from minor fertility powers that lean more to growth, but you keep the energy alive and help increase and maintain people’s spirits. This is quite useful in low points in time or keeping a soldier's morale up when in battle. You are quite a people’s person regardless how you define yourself.
- Power-wise, its possible to inherit the power of joy where you can make people feel joy. Make them see the positive in things. It also means you have a very infectious giggle and laugh. If you laugh or giggle, people can’t help doing the same. A smile will also do the same thing as well.
Then again, you don’t really need to rely on your powers to make people feel a little bit of joy because you can do it without it.
- Because The Charity Thalia is associated with Festivities and Banquets, you develop a sense of planning for events. It’s not out of the question that you often help Mr. D and Chiron for these events, making sure things go smoothly or when things go off the rails (which often do when demigods are involved), there is always a plan in place.
You also can be found planning or holding impromptu events ranging not just dinner parties or tea parties, but stuff like Karoke battle, dance offs, or even a skipping rope contest (though probably not anymore because Chiron strongly suggested not using burning rope to make things more interesting).
“The Fates have to be messing with us” you groaned into your hands, head also thrown back as you tried to trick yourself this was just a bad dream. However, even a dream wouldn’t be this convoluted.
You took away your eyes as you saw Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Zeus and lieutenant of Artemis’ Huntresses, and the other child of Thalia, but their mother was the Muse goddess of Comedy.
It was a complete circus when you were claimed and all the campers were so confused when you were announced to be the “Daughter of Thalia”. Little did you know, there was a famous camper named Thalia, who was present at your claiming, and when Chiron tried to clarify again that you were the daughter of the Thalia, the goddess-
Everyone’s ADHD brain and mouth went to the Muse goddess, and turned to the Muse demigod child of Thalia, then Chiron said it was the other goddess, a roman camper who was visiting opened their mouth and said “You mean Thalia, the Grace?”
People’s brains went back to Thalia Grace, the demigod daughter of Zeus-
Chiron then had to interrupt loudly that, no, he was talking about the Charity Thalia, and the use of the Graces was used by the Romans-
It also didn’t help that your claim symbol was very similar to the Muse goddess of Thalia, and Chiron had just convinced Mr. D send word to Olympus so they could track down both Thalias, and had to convince Hermes to find and ask about which Thalia you were the child of.
“I wonder if my mother had any idea about my name and this was all intentional, or Zeus was the one who named me” said Thalia in frustration. “If it was really Zeus who named me, then I wanna say dad you have the worst naming choices because both the muse and charity Thalia are both his daughters too. Wasn’t two enough?!”
“Well, all things come in three” joked the demigod child of the Muse Thalia.
“Don’t-”
“You have to admit, there is something funny about this” you pointed out, chuckling while giving a wry smile.
“Oh Artemis, give me strength” muttered Thalia Grace.
The door to the Big House meeting room opened and there was an unknown man with a wide mischievous smile at the front, greeting with “Hello, sister and cousins!” as he walked in with Chiron right behind him.
“Lord Hermes” greeted Thalia as she got up, to bow while the rest of you copied her.
“Please” he said as he waved and then suddenly there were two envelopes between his fingers. “I won’t be too long because packages and mails to be delivered and picked up, but this was too funny to not come myself; so ta-dah~”
All three mortals in the room groaned at Hermes’ obvious enjoyment out of this whole scenario.
“Okay, so I managed to find both Thalias, one of them was busy with Aprhodite who was also with Ares, and boy, they did not appreciate me crashing on their little romantic date, and the muses were whipping up a bit of a lovely chorus with Apollo, which kind delayed everything because last time I interrupted Apollo’s music with the Muses, it was not pretty but hey I managed to talk my way out of it-”
There was a polite cough from Chiron and Hermes grinned. “But I got the words straight and both Thalias told me that they did at one point like the same mortal man-”
Both demigods of Thalia stiffened at the sudden throw back. They immediately turned to each other, balking at the incoming info that they may still be half-siblings but just with different mothers.
“-but I reminded them of the year you both were born and what year it was, where you were born, you know the boring tidbits, and said no, you two aren’t related.”
Everyone let out a sigh of relief and the tension in their body was gone, making them drop in their seats. You placed your face in your hands and were tremoring with pent up laughter.
“So, my mother is Thalia of the Charities?” you asked for clarification.
Hermes nodded before handing over the envelope, to each of you. “The details are here and they filled out a sort of birth certificate, just in case this happens again. Eileithyia was also there coincidentally so she also helped clarify your births.”
You took the envelope and opened it. It looked like a regular birth certificate but there was a signature of your godly mother, as well as signed by Eileithyia confirming your birth.
“Wait, so does everyone on Olympus knows about this?” asked Thalia.
“Ohhhhh yeah” grinned Hermes. “Which I gotta say, its been so long since we’ve had such fun about whose demigod was without it all being some major drama; not that I wouldn’t listen in myself.”
Both respective children of Thalia groaned as everyone else laughed. This was just going to be the beginning of what your life at camp was going to be like.
Chapter 23: ???
Summary:
I wonder who could it be? (●'◡'●)
Notes:
(See the end of the chapter for notes.)
Chapter Text
- When the day of your claim came, your godly parent’s claim floated above your head was unusual; further becoming an enigma as the claim appeared on the back of your hand. You stared at the mark; dark russet sequence of criss-crossing lines, with a vertical arrowhead on the left and a circle on the right.
- Chiron was dumbfounded at the mystery who it belonged to. When Mr. D was dragged over to look at it, it was the first time anyone had seen the god’s perplexed look and admitted he didn’t know. The only idea that it was a minor god but really minor.
- The Athena cabin and a few others were spearheading the research, and while there is now a growing compendium of gods and goddesses with their claim symbols for future unknown demigods…you’ve still not figured out who your god is.
- There weren’t any obvious standout abilities that helped the search and what separated your actions and talents from inherent gifts were even harder to find out.
- Regardless of your current un-named situation, you find yourself settling in Camp, enjoying the activities, learning, while also enjoying the company around you. In fact you’ve also rekindled some long lost friends who were demigods and nymphs this entire time along with new friends.
- While the lack of being able to build a bond to your unnamed godly parent, you’ve been cultivating unbreakable bonds and everlasting friendships. You blushed and became sheepish whenever people commented your devotion to offering to the gods even though you were basically being ghosted, even when you
congratulated other demigods when they were claimed to be known godly parents.
You just smiled and commented that even if things aren’t great, it doesn’t mean you can't give a little kindness. - You talked to Percy Jackson who heard about you and came to apologize, saying he’d probably should’ve added a stipulation that the gods announce their names when they claim their children, and while that would’ve been nice, he already did a boon for all demigods with his wish. You asked him what drove behind that wish, hearing whispers of reasons but you now had the opportunity to hear it from the source.
He told you all about the friends and people he met along the way, the unfairness of the gods and their complacency of their status quo, and how he only became this way because of the bonds of his family and friends; the memories and promises he carries of the people that were lost. You smiled saying what a wonderful life has and the people he met along the way not only impacted him, he also impacted him. You keep regular contact with him, and by extension his own family and friends. - As times passed and people were concerned that they still didn’t know who your god is, you relished every moment, and enjoyed being humbled. You enjoyed watching the dryads and the trees’ leaves turning to autumn, watching as they fall onto the ground. The worms that churn beneath the earth as you helped the children of Demeter.
- You were there as you watched the hint of frost appear right before the first snow began to fall as you greeted and thanked Khione for the snow (who gave you an indescribable look as you offered a meager offering).
- You enjoyed trading stories and the cups of hot cocoa while chatting to the girl by the fire, the silence of crackling embers, the wisps of flames, and the smell of smoke lingering on you like a blanket.
- You enjoyed going with the satyrs, nymphs, and others as you went to the boundary of the forest and fields, gathering small blossoms and berries before gathering the first apples; relishing the crispness of the apple right as your teeth dug into its flesh.
- You placed little flowers, fruit and other things at the steps of the Hades cabin, giving a prayer to the dead and you met Nico di Angelo who awkwardly offered popcorn. You smiled as you listened to him shuffle through his mythomagic collection, talking about the memories of his family.
- There were a dozen nothings that happened as you stayed at camp but you enjoyed the every humble beauty alongside the people in camp.
- Throughout all this, for every day you were stacking stones since you were claimed, a little corner Chiron let you do as you created a Cairn. It was the same place you claimed, underneath a tree and was shaded which was a perfect spot to see most of camp while being hidden away. You sat at this area, watching every humble blessing go by as you recounted your stories while stacking the stones. As you left, and when the light filtered through the leaves to shine upon the stone, you didn’t realize that they were all made of grey-blue stone; surrounded by pink and white flowers.
You placed another stone to the cairn, this time the stone with the face of your mark, you muttered a prayer to your godly parent, or whoever inhabited it, you heard a echoing voice.
“It has been a long time since I’ve gotten a shrine of some sort. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining and I appreciate the prayers and offerings, but doesn’t it hurt when you see other kids having these huge cabins dedicated to their godly parent?”
You stared at the cairn and the small little hole that had appeared that was just enough to make a little shrine in it by itself.
“Honestly, I wasn’t expecting anything much. I was doing this mostly to myself and sort of to whatever god claimed me but its been so long that I wasn’t expecting anything. Are you a god?”
“Of some sort.”
“Oh. Who if I may ask?”
“I am of the fallen leaves,” it said, “The worms that churn beneath the earth. The boundary of forest and field. The first hint of frost before the first snow falls. The skin of an an apple as it yields beneath your teeth. I am the god of a dozen different nothings. The petals in bloom that lead to rot, the momentary glimpses. A change in the air before its gone. I do not have a name nor form.”
You sat there absorbing what it just said. Though you were disappointed that you did not get a name, you knew this was not your godly parent but something just seemed right. You smiled at the images of what he just described and thought back to your memories.
“Beautiful. All of them.”
“How so?”
“It’s fleeting yes, but they’re all so beautiful in their own way.”
The god within the cairn was quiet before it spoke. “You remind me of my friend.”
You snuffed in a good way. “A friend of a god? That’s a high compliment you know”
“He’s a very good friend of mine. In fact, he was my first priest.”
“Oh. How nice. I would’ve liked to meet him…or at least ask some questions.”
“What kind of questions?”
You showed the god the claim mark on the back of your hand, recounting of your claim. You told it what happened since, the ups and downs, but you smiled. “But its alright. I made many good memories and friends along the way. For all the unknown, it didn’t feel as bad when I had people by my side. The children of Hermes have been very nice to me in their cabin.”
The god was silent for so long you thought it had left. “Hello?”
“I know who your god is.”
“Wait really?”
“Yes. He’s been very busy but he’s been with you, everyone and everywhere.”
“Who? Who is my godly parent?”
“Hello my child and God of Every Humble Beauty in the World” said a voice.
You turned around to see a man with a kind, worn smile on his face and you felt your eyes water in nostalgic memory.
“Its you” you whispered.
He smiled, the bit of straw between his teeth turning upwards with him as he patted your head. “Forgive me for being gone so long, but thanks to your devotion and kindness, I was able to find my way back.”
The god within the cairn scoffed but it didn’t seem bad either.
“Who…who are you?” you asked.
“I am Arepo, the god of god of devotion, of small kindnesses, of unbreakable bonds. I am the god of selfless, unconditional love, of everlasting friendships, and trust.”
“Arepo…I haven’t heard your name before…”
He laughed. “I’m not surprised you haven’t! Being well known as a huge god was never meant for me and I never made any effort to grow more than I needed to. I’m just happy to be with my god like I did all those years ago.”
“Wait…then you two are-” you stammered between Arepo and the god in the cairn. The former smiled as he sat by the cairn, stacking a stone on top of it as he spoke,
“Before I was the god of unbreakable bonds and everlasting friendships, I was a simple mortal, farmer, and priest. And He is the god of Arepo.”

🎉🤡 HAPPY APRIL FOOL'S DAY EVERYONE! 🎉🤡
Notes:
Time to do some crack demigod h/cs for this funny day. I’ve seen some Tumblr-made gods here since I’ve been on this site, and so I say why not? So decided to have some fun, kick back loose a bit, and let this be the exception where I don’t follow many requirements/system of how I write! Have been meaning write this one for a bit and only recently discovered there was a semi-sequel to this 🙂
Chapter 24: 👶EILEITHYIA🐣
Notes:
Heya everyone I’m back with the new wave! I've taken the initiative to take this downtime to take a break while also work on other projects in the meantime. I didn’t forget about all the gods that I’ve mentioned about to touching more in depth, so with that, let’s begin! Eileithyia doesn’t have much stuff to work with mythologically, compared to the other gods and demigod h/cs, but I made do with what I had. The h/cs may seem shorter but I made up for it in the written story section! I hope you enjoy!!
Chapter Text
👶 EILEITHYIA “GODDESS OF CHILDBIRTH” 🐣
- When you’re claimed, you smell a mixture of baby powder, warm milk, with hints of fire. It feels very lackluster in terms of claiming as everyone looks above your head to see a torch. There was confusion, thinking you were a child of Hecate but her children and Chiron point out that you have a singular torch, and not torches which is a symbol of Hecate.
There is still some confusion, even when the children of Hecate plop down a polecat in front of you, who responds the same way as a child of Hecate.
It takes a while until a messenger comes back to clarify you are the child of Eileithyia…brought to you by a cuckoo. - Despite being the demigod child of childbirth, there’s not actually many of you, or if at all, more of you. Some would think she would give birth more often but that is far from the case as she literally has her hands full because she’s the goddess of childbirth.
She’s constantly going back and forth being responsible for everything being born; from youngling gods, heroes, demigods, literally normal people; much to her chagrin of frequent births. There isn’t much downtime when you’re helping with the birth of literally anything being born underneath the sun.
Not to mention she also represents the painful side of childbirth as well, so she’s not keen at it either. She’s the goddess of Childbirth, she knows all about it and doesn’t want to be a part of it. - You know how the children of Hebe often take care of the baby satyrs? Yeah as the grandchild of Hera, and the child of childbirth, you are basically the midwife. You start to sympathize with Eileithyia when you are inevitably called upon whenever a nymph gives birth to a baby satyr and there are a lot of satyrs and nymphs.
Or helping the occasional Pegasus giving birth.
Or…well you get the point. Being technically related with the children of Hebe, you often ponder the difference in duties that you two share. - There’s also the chance of being summoned at Camp Half Blood or Camp Jupiter and New Rome, when a demigod is giving birth, or a goddess or a god asking you to be there when their own child is about to be born.
Bad news is you’re constantly tired and being pulled everywhere (even with gods teleporting you). Good news is that you don’t actually need to be there to assist with the birth, but they do need your presence and power to make it work. - At least the children of Apollo and other medicine related demigods, are a bit sheepish and sympathetic when they come and get you. They all know too well about the stress and you all have methods to decompress.
- You often help out with the children of Hebe and they in turn help you out. Your realms often overlap and there’s not many of children of Eileithyia, so you’re going to get all the help you can get.
- That said though, you do have the power to ‘see’ their origin of birth. It makes it rather interesting as you can tell which demigod is the child of which mortal and which godly parent. It does expedite the claiming process or at the least the preparation of it.
This power gives you the advantage of knowing about your friends and foes of who they are, allowing you to have a read on them first and giving you a heads up. - This is a bit of a stretch, but I suppose as a child of Eilethyia, you can encourage things to come out, as in ‘bring forth’, ‘shining light’, or ‘open’. This is because of Eilethyia’s symbol of the torch where she wields torches to bring children out of the darkness and into the light. You can coax things out, shining light that were once hidden, and so forth.
In that sense, you can find invisible objects or people, open the earth (though be careful with that because it encroaches on Poseidon’s earthshaker epithet, and most importantly Hades’s domain of the land). - You are also good at “bringing things into the light” in the sense you have the uncanny ability in bringing out secrets or truths out, revealing them for everyone to open.
This is very useful in tough situations like the roadblock of Janus, where one door tells the truth and the other tells a lie…or getting a child of Hermes to cough up where they took your hidden stash of goodies. - I hope you’re fine with pollen or love plants because being in the presence of you, plants are going to start reproducing and bloom. Crop production and fields of flowers will start blooming left and right as you walk by.
- I’m just imagining this also extends towards eggs too. For example, you go by a chicken coop filled with eggs, probably by the Hebe’s cabin as you’re passing by and when a Hebe child hands you an egg from one of the chickens they’re raising and was brooding over recently. You’re cupping it between you hands gently, feeling the small warmth within the eggs and as you hold it, waiting for the child of Hebe to take it back, you feel it shaking in your hands.
You peek at it just to see the egg cracking and peeping growing louder and louder before you gasp as the egg just breaks open to see a newborn chick. The child of Hebe from before looks at you with shock, quickly taking the baby chick and dumping all of the eggs without a thought in your hands.
It’s not long before all the eggs in your hands start cracking with baby chicks all chirping and peeping, causing all the hens to go crazy looking for their chicks when just a moment ago, they were just barely fertilized egg.
Hopefully, your powers just go to fertilized eggs or eggs aren’t going to be a part of your diet anymore (that is if you don’t eat eggs already)
“Ola! Como esta? ” introduced Paolo Montes, demigod son of Hebe as he greeted you eagerly.
“Oh, hello” you replied, shaking his eager hand. “I’m fine…just…confused?” as there were still people around you
Paolo hummed and nodded, patting your shoulder sympathetically. “Eu entendo” he said and you didn’t need to know Portuguese to know what he said. The gesture was enough of a tell.
You were still adjusting as you were getting your things out from the Hebes cabin. After you were claimed with a symbol of a torch above your head, people thought you were a child of Hecate; even though Hecate had torches as her symbol.
However, when you went to move into the Hecate cabin, the entire building shuddered and let out a terrifying screech, as mist and goo poured out every orifice to exist in the cabin before you were promptly rolled out by the floors before whacked out of the door. Literally.
Attempts were made to go back in by both you and the children of Hecate, but the door would not budge and when the entire cabin erupted in giant green flames, it was finally the sign to just stop. The Hecate children had to go back and forth to test if there was something wrong and also to regain your stuff, but there was major confusion.
So you slept back in the Hermes cabin, effectively kicked out of what you thought was your godly mother’s cabin. You were bummed out and had to endure whispers of anxiety if you were a sign that children of the gods could be rejected by their parents and what did you do to ignite Hecate’s wrath?
Even when the children of Hecate plopped down a polecat in front of you, it showed great interest in you and chittered happily, climbing on you with great glee and you let out a sigh of relief because you were worried if the polecat would tear your face. Regardless, it didn’t solve your predicament as why the Hecate cabin, and Hecate, didn’t want you in?
News finally came in the form of a cuckoo, who appeared at the Hebe cabin with the message that you were a child of Eileithyia, goddess of Childbirth. The messaged was so convoluted as it was sent by Hebe who was sent by Hera, who had to send it in the place of Eileithyia because she was too busy being responsible for the birth of every living creature, so the mother and sister had to take matters in their own hands.
Thus kicking off the Athena cabin and other cabins to construct a cabin of Eileithyia and in the meantime you were sleeping in the Hebe cabin, as you were claimed officially but with the rules, you weren’t allowed to sleep in another cabin. The only gray zone is the Hebe cabin, considering Hebe and Eilethyia are sisters, and because of the cuckoo message.
Admittedly, it was nerve wracking entering the Hebe cabin and repeating the Hecate cabin incident, but luckily you were game slotted out. This is also how Paolo became your ‘guide’ considering there were no other children of Eileithyia. Someone had helpfully left a basic kids Brazilian Portuguese and English book in the meantime.
In the meantime, you were taught about Eiletithyia and why there were so many confusions about you being a child of Hecate.
Eilethyia had a torch as her symbol, for her to light the way for babies coming out of their darkness and warmth of their mother’s womb, but not a cross of torches; which is Hecate’s symbol as the goddess of Crossroads. Eilethyia’s sacred animal was a polecat, much like Hecate, which also did not help that both polecats in each goddesses stories were originally human but were turned into said-animal.
Lou Ellen was very apologetic to you, saying how they should’ve known this fact
You stood outside your cabin in all of its glory. You finally had a cabin to be in but after your time spent with everyone, there was a sense of anxiety being in a dark room all by yourself.
Your nerves may have shown on your face when you felt a gentle hand on your arm, reminding you weren’t alone. You turned to Paolo as he checked in with you, “Tudo jóia?”
You took a deep breath and let it out slowly. You saw the torch above the door of your cabin and realized you just need to take the next step forward, into the darkness, but as long as there was something at the end of light, you were going to be fine.
“Yeah, I think I’ll be fine,” you smiled.
Chapter 25: 🧀ARISTAEUS🐝
Notes:
When I went back to research Aristaeus and everything, I keep getting bamboozled that this demigod-turned-god was basically taught by every single god somehow and for a minor god (in terms of relevance), his domain is BASED. Hope you all enjoy this and thanks for reading!
Chapter Text
🧀 ARISTAEUS “GOD OF RURAL ARTS, CHEESEMAKING, AND BEEKEEPING” 🐝
- When you get claimed, there are bees buzzing around you, the smell of honey, olives, and herbs mingling with the countryside of plants and natures blooming around you. You look up and see a symbol of a bee and you’re confused who it is until Chiron announces you are the child of Aristeus: the god of useful and rural arts and handicraft, beekeeping cheese making, olive and oil milling, medicinal herbs, hunting, and the Etesian winds-
It’s a bit of a mouthful when all said is done and you’re not sure if you’ve heard it all right correctly. There were even some very confused looks from the majority of people. - When explained, you were basically like Hermes and his demigods, where they like to say “Jack of all trades, master of none” but as a child of Aristaeus, you are the “jack of all trades” with hard emphasis on “TRADES” as a skill.
- Your godly father is a deified demigod of Apollo and while he might not be the most exciting god out there, he is one of the most practical ones and he is more popular than people think. You go about camp, doing the regular camper activities but you feel eyes on you as you get to tap into the realm and aspects of your godly parent.
You find yourself literally doing every trade underneath the sun, and when it hits you, you go to Chiron for why and then you learn that Aristaeus, literally learned all of the known trades from every possible major god due to his relations, and therefore you. - You find yourself rescuing a bunch of bees and now you are taking care of bee colonies, which the satyrs and nymphs happily help with the beekeeping. The children of Demeter are happy to have help with the extra hands as you help with the agriculture and with the pollination of the strawberries and other crops, which you in turn create honey and specialty strawberry honey, which are sold, made into Ambrosia or medicine, or used to make sweets or cooking like Bavlaka.
Inevitably, there is a candle making class as the amount of beeswax is insane so you end up making candles and then later soap. - Chiron helps take point in guiding you in the art of healing and knowledge of herbs, and due to the connection with Apollo, you are also able to do healing. Although not likely, it’s not out of the question, to have minor powers in prophecies but it's more of premonitions than actual visions. If you do, however have the power of prophecy, the gift in exchange may either mix with how you do your trade work or capability to do so.
Regardless, you know when someone is about to be injured and prepare the necessary equipment to address it. You are also handy with a bow and arrow, due to the connection with Cyrene who was a companion of Artemis, paired with Artemis as your great aunt, and Apollo as your great grandfather, it just slips into place.
- That said, if you’re a daughter of Aristaeus, Artemis finds you rather quickly when she and her huntresses visit camp and offers you a place; to learn the art of hunting much like Aristaeus had, along with Apollo and Cyrene. If you don’t want to, Artemis keeps an eye on you.
If you’re a son of Artisteus, Artemis still keeps an eye on you as an exception because you are her great-nephew/niece, and you’re the grandchild of her brother; who would always keep an eye on you. - Somewhere along the way, when a lost colony of cows just ends up at Camp Half Blood, which may be a gift from your godly father, everyone is also unsure because it could be Hera.
Regardless, the cows are integrated into the livestock of camp and then you’re now busy making cheese; which becomes a very big hit for Camp. Though when the topic of goat cheese reaches Mr. D’s ears, made from very normal goats, he’s going to demand to get the first taste of every batch both as quality control and as an offering before you think of distributing it. - Mr. D ends up being softer around you because he taught Aristaeus how to produce alcoholic beverages, and you both lament being unable to grow grapes or maintain a grapevine due to the suspension of Zeus. You make non-alcoholic mead with the honey you’ve made and share it with Dionysus to get through it.
- When you have an interest in baking and cooking, you start building clay-built ovens and maintaining the hearth, to which Hestia makes herself known. She gave you a warm smile, commenting that you’re just like Aristaeus, pats your head and offers you a sweet treat and gently coaxes you with advice to maintaining the structure that will hold her flame.
- Of course as the child of Aristateus, it doesn’t mean you don’t have preferred trades that you like to do, but in general, you literally can do every trade when hands are needed. You may not have inherited knowledge but you take to it like a fish to water and after a few moments, you find yourself deeply involved. However, you make connections as you go with your trades; the Hephaestus cabin with their smithing and crafting, the Athena cabin with their weaving as well as sharing olives that you’ve grown, and etc.
- You may not have any physical powers of Aristaeus, but as I said, you are literally the Jack of All Trades. You have an easier time learning a skill and using it, but mastering it still takes time. You are good with a bow and arrow, and you know how to wield a blade and hammer with Aristaeus’ connection with smithing and leather making.
That said, some trades may not resonate with you as some others but fret not, it is not a disconnection with your godly parent but simply what you like or do not like. If you put your mind to it, you are able to do it. - In terms of power, you may have minor wind powers as being the demigod of the god of Estian winds, who provided the occasional winds that come during the hot months, giving some relief.
In terms of threat level to monster as a demigod, I feel like it's between a child of Demeter and Hermes? While not necessarily dangerous like a child of Demeter, due to the sheer possibility of realms, you are also closer to a child of Hermes or almost the same. Monsters still may seek you out, but they are far and few in between. For the most part, as long as you are not in some god business or prophecy, most of them will ignore you if you don’t get involved.
“To think Artistaeus would have me looking after his demigod child, and I can’t even teach them how to make wine unlike his father rightly learned so-” gripped Mr. D and there was rumbling thunder.
Mr. D grumbled but sipped his diet coke, pushing you to drink it as well. If you didn’t have a taste for Diet Coke, you’re going to have an acquired taste because Dionysus ‘offers’ you a diet coke whenever he sees you. It looks like if he can’t teach you how to make wine and manage a grapevine yard, he’s going to teach you the magnificence of Diet Coke.
“You mean to say you’re glad to be looking after Aristaeus’s own child” corrected Chiron, as Mr. D grumbled.
You politely slid over the plate of test cheeses you made as he took a bite, bemoaning which cheese would go well with which wine. You took it as the green light as Chiron sighed before smiling gently at you. His eyes were fond but you could see his eyes also being a bit distant as he seemed to remember the past.
“Yes yes, well, that boy is now a god and I suppose as a fellow former demigod turned divine, it falls to me to take care of him. It would only be a procedure that I will allow Aristaeus’ demigod to reside in my cabin with my children for now, until a cabin is built.”
“That is…rather flexible of you Mr. D” commented Chiron.
Mr. D waved his hand, his diet coke changing briefly to wine. “As the camp director and former patron god that taught Aristaeus, this demigod’s wellbeing is under my control.”
“And if I say they can sleep in the Big House?” asked Chiron.
“Bah, Chiron you know this demigod will have their hands full already from learning the art of healing from you and the children of Apollo. You’ll have plenty of time to impart your teachings as you did to Aristaeus” said Mr. D. “It's a wonder how the boy gathered every god’s attention.”
Chiron coughed. “Well, regardless, we did not expect Aristaeus to have a demigod children after so long but we welcome you all the same. I hope you enjoy your time at Camp Halfblood” he greeted.
Chapter 26: ⚕ ASCLEPIUS 🩺
Notes:
Alright time for the final god for Wave 4.0 and the long awaited Asclepius! I forgot that Asclepius technically does have legacies of demigods and even has a direct demigod in the books, but I can only imagine how much easier it would be to have at Camp Halfblood. Hope you enjoy this cause I may went overboard with it and also hope you enjoy which canon demigod I chose for the mini-story!
Chapter Text
⚕
ASCLEPIUS “GOD OF MEDICINE, HEALING, REJUVENATION, AND PHYSICIANS” 🩺
- When you get claimed, you catch the smell of antiseptic mixed with a melody of herbs. The smell of the sharp antiseptic pulls you into a memory of being in a hospital with a kind doctor who gives you lollipops, and the smell of rustic herbs pulls you in an apothecary that transports you into a multiculture of countries and their shared and unique use of homemade medicine.
You hear murmuring and you look up to see a floating symbol of a snake intertwining up a stick. You knew that symbol, since it was practically seen on every hospital and ambulance, but you were confused on why you didn’t see two snakes. - You’re immediately steam-rolled by a boy named Lester who is oddly emotional, going on about meeting his grandchild and you’re super confused, until some kids introduce themselves as the children of Apollo, and the person hugging you is Apollo himself. You’re then taken to be educated that you’re the child of Ascelpius, the God of Medicine, who is also the son of Apollo; hence the introduction (Though you were told that he could go without being called Grandpa).
- You got confused for a moment because you thought you were a child of Hermes (Apollo screeched-) because you thought the symbol of Hermes was the snakes intertwining on the staff. You were reassured that this happens a lot and you were gently reminded that Hermes’ symbol with the Caduceus was intertwined with two serpents with the wings on it, while Asclepius’ symbol was the Rod of Asclepius.
You were told people get mistaken due to the US Army Medical corp usage of Caduceus in 1902 because a single officer insisted on it. Everyone thinks it was a child of Hermes who did that, and Apollo and Spike (the snake on Asclepius’ rod) has been salty over it ever since. - Although you have a cabin of your own, you’re practically living at the Apollo cabin. In fact, if it weren’t for the bedtime curfew, you would be sleeping at the Apollo cabin and the medical ward. Though the Asclepius cabin is nothing to sneeze at either.
- The Asclepius cabin is a rather rustic yet sleek looking cabin from the outside. When you open the door, you’re immediately hit with the combination of antiseptic and herbs, just like how you were claimed. All over the walls, there are shelves and cabinets filled with medicine and all kinds of herbs and ingredients to make your own concoctions. There are glass vials and jars filled with materials with neatly yet bold scrawled names, all clean and regularly dusted. There are tools lined up on benches with pots, vials, beakers.
There are bunches of herbs drying on racks or hanging from the rafters, practically covering it and it seemed there wasn’t even a roof to begin with, just a canopy of herbs and plants. Off to one side, you can see a sunroom filled with plants and animals as well, and on the other side there is a crafting room filled that were lined with prosthetics, canes, wheelchairs, an eye station, etc.
If it weren’t for the beds and the designated areas for living, anyone would think the Asclepius cabin was just a pharmacy, apothecary, and so forth. - People come to your cabin just as much as they go to the Apollo cabin. In fact, if possible, they would’ve placed your cabins side by side if it was possible or in walkable distance. You two are often going back and forth with prescriptions, inquiries, delivering medicine and so forth that its hard to tell from head to tails who is going to which, and whether it was a child of Apollo or Asclepius going back and forth.
It's hard to tell but since the arrival of Asclepius children, the distribution of workload has evened since the children of Apollo don’t have to take care of anything medical that is under the sun. Moving forward, there is at least one child of Asclepius with every child of Apollo. - Unlike the children of Apollo, because the children of Asclepius are solely children of medicine, healing, and are basically mini physicians, you’re pretty much always making new concoctions or pursuing new possibilities in medicine. While in extreme cases, it's not unheard of being a medicine case nut and being completely obsessed with it.
The only thing you’re not allowed to attempt to make is anything to do with a revival cure or immortality, much to the chagrin of many Asclepius demigods. - “Sola dosis facit venenum (The Dose makes the poison) or “All things are poison, and nothing is without poison; the dosage alone makes it so a thing is not a poison” by Paracelsus is hammered into every child of Asclepius as medicine can easily become poison, and poison can be medicine if given right.
With that note, every child of Asclepius is just as knowledgeable in poison and toxicology just as much as medicine and healing. - If people think the demigods of Asclepius are unarmed and not a threat, then they are very wrong. They know more about the body than they do and what makes them healthy and how to destroy it. They are just as knowledgeable in poisoning as in medicine so that is their weapon.
If ever pushed to take up arms, they wield their swords with surgical precision and their arrows will always hit your vitals. With their innate, growing observation of the body, they are able to tell your strengths and weaknesses, and how to use them against you as much as they use their knowledge to help their patients. - They are the definition of the meme “I’m a Healer, but…” *clocks gun*
- Out of the minor or miscellaneous gods and being their demigod, you’re going to be rather well known through camp. Chiron rather sees you as he instructed Asclepius and helped him pursue his infamous medical knowledge.
The children of Athena find themselves to you because of their mother as you share your wisdom and knowledge with each other.
Mr. D has grown to your presence, whether he liked it or not initially, as you keep appearing to inquire about mental illnesses and how it applies to the average demigod. He begrudgingly answered but his tone changed when you began to ask him about ‘madness’ and how would one reproduce it, alongside what type of alcohol would be beneficial.
Sufficient to say, Chiron cut you off from certain acts of medicine even if you tried to argue that wine could be a medicine and poison, and you had to know! For Healing sake! - You’re a common sight among the children of Demeter as you help with the crops and growing medical herbs for usage. At the same time, you’re also often around the Satyrs and Nymphs as you explore the woods and come across nature’s treasures and bounties.
- You’re also unusual to be seen around the children of Aphrodite or those interested in physical beauty as you give them diagnoses on their health and how to maintain their skin, weight, hair health, and etc. It’s also not unusual to see a child of Asclepius having a dedicated list of orders of homemade makeup, beauty and hygiene products as it can also fall under medicine and rejuvenation.
- At some point, the children of Asclepius are given strict time off because they can be seen literally all over camp tending and doing everything under the sun that could be considered medicine, healing, and rejuvenation.
Jason adjusted his glasses, taking them on and off, blinking and looking around, marvelling at the clarity.
“And here’s the eyedrops; both regular and no-regular for you” you commented as you finished bottling the new mixture. “You should put eyedrops whenever you feel tired or at least once a day, and take your glasses off occasionally.” You scrawled on “Regular Mortal Eyedrops” with a black sharpie to make sure.
“These eye drops,” you pointed to the specially made eye drops, “Are made so you can see for a brief period of time without your glasses if the situation calls for it. Don’t put them on too regularly or use them as a replacement for your glasses since it acts as a steroid for your eyes. They’re an aid but not a replacement.”
“Thanks for making time for me” Jason thanked as he gave you a smile. “It’s kind of funny, Esclepius- I mean, Asclepius gave me these glasses, and now you’re helping me with my eyes.”
You wrote down in your records and gave an amused smile. “Its no problem. If anything it’s nice to hear about my godly father from someone who has actually met him.”
“He was rather helpful” told Jason as he pocketed the eyedrops. “Even if the on the spot diagnosis seemed rather sudden.”
You shrugged as you wrote a copy for Jason to take back. “We’re doctors, its what we do anyways. You’re a fighter Jason, you automatically scan your surroundings right?”
“Yeah, being a leader for my cohort makes it necessary. Especially since we weren’t treated that well, so there was no end to mistreatment.”
“There we go” you said before putting away the ingredients in their proper place, while at the same time, double checking your stock.
“So how’s it been being a child of Asclepius? We have a Son of Esclepius back at Camp Jupiter as head healer and I always see him working” asked Jason, a bit concerned when he thought back to the line of people before him.
“Well, it has been busy since I was claimed,” you did admit, “while I admit it’s been stressful, it’s also very rewarding.”
You thought back to when you were claimed. The confusion about the sign of your claim when you thought you were a child of Hermes, but then you were all told by Chiron that you’re a child of
Asclepius,
and their staff were similar looking-
Then being ambushed by a person named Lestor, to only be told later that that was Apollo as a human, and is your grandfather -
Then you were told you were absolutely forbidden from doing certain medical practices. Lest for malpractice reasons but more in the line of “Your godly father did the forbidden and played god, and got smited by Zeus/Hades, so we’re going to avoid all that”
It was a whirlwind with being delved into medical tasks as you and the Apollo cabin working together, learning from each other and making friends, and then came the line of people coming for consultation and meds- it was at first overwhelming but over time, it became a part of your routine and you were having fun.
“Not to mention, I also get to research into all the medicine and poisons I like” you chuckled to yourself, your fingers tingling with excitement at all the possibilities in front of you. Not only did you have more resources, you also had other means to produce unusual effects with magic now in the mix!
Jason gave you a look of bewilderment before smiling at your excited look. He then held out his hand to you, “Well, I’m glad you’re settling in nicely. I was only here in this camp for a short while but just wanna say ‘ Welcome to Camp Halfblood’. I hope you enjoy yourself and I’ll be in your care!”
Chapter 27: MNEMOSYNE
Notes:
A/N: Hi everyone! I’m here with {WAVE 5.0} of my Miscellaneous Gods and demigods Headcanons! This entire wave is going to be based on Titans and what if they had demigods/demi-titans. There might be some titans you’ll recognize if you’ve read some of my asks but some are definitely ones I haven’t talked about before. Anyways, hope you all enjoy what i wrote and have a nice day! Also decided because of Mnemosyne’s general mythology and possibilities, I did something unusual for the story. Thanks for reading!!
Chapter Text
🧠 MNEMOSYNE “TITAN OF MEMORY AND REMEMBRANCE, INVENTRESS OF LANGUAGE AND WORDS AND MOTHER OF ARTISTIC INSPIRATION” 📚
- As a child of Mnemosyne, you are gifted with good memory to the point people have remarked that you have “perfect memory”. It’s not entirely sure if you do have perfect or even photographic memory, while on one hand you can recall specific actions and events by associating them with things, but on the other hand, it didn’t help you were forgetful at times because of ADHD.
It felt kind of ironic that you may have memory issues because you were a demigod of Mnemosyne, who is the Titan Goddess of Memory.
- “Forgive, but never forget”
- You aren’t necessarily claimed in the typical way because of your perfect memory because you remember Mnemosyne who told you were her demigod child, and that part always remained with you. Sometimes the memory fades away into your subconsciousness and sometimes it will rise back up, but it becomes a more active and clear memory as you approach your teens and when you arrive at Camp.
- Another trait of being a child of Mnemosyne is having another trait that belongs to the head: you have really beautiful hair as Zeus was smitten with Menmosyne and complimented her “beautiful hair”.
- You find out really quickly that being a child of Mnemosyne would have anything happening related to the head; the brain for Memory, the scalp for Hair. It also wouldn’t be surprising if you’re a more logical and/or reasonable person as well.
- If you’re good at reading, writing, and reciting, that’s a good sign that you’re a child of Mnemosyne, as she was the one who invented languages and words.
Honestly, I think because of this, the typical affliction of demigod Dyslexia doesn’t affect you as much or if at all while still being able to read Ancient Greek, English, and any other language. Whether because Mnemosyne’s realm prevents it from happening to you or you are able to work around the circumstances may depend on you. - Speaking of Languages, aside from your native language and ancient Greek, if you are interested in or already have knowledge of another language, that’s being a part of Mnemosyne’s child! It wouldn’t be surprising if you end up being a more than multilingual or a polyglot in the future.
As Mnemoysne is the inventor of words and languages, you can pick up other languages more easily than others. Fluency depends on the individual and how much practice you’re willing to put in, but overtime, you are able to also connect languages and pick out their linguistic similarities. - You have a way of words, whether its in speaking, writing, or reading. Whether being able to sway or present an argument well, in a speaking debate or meeting, in an essay, or simply being able to pick apart questions and riddles.
- Libraries are Mnemosyne’s Sacred Places and her presence keeps monsters away, so if you ever felt safe in a library, that’s why. As long as you keep to the rules of the library and respect the books, then you’re safe. In fact, the cabin looks like one!
You think back to the librarian with very luxurious hair, who always smiled kindly at you and always seemed to know what you needed or liked in the library- she seemed so familiar to you… - Surprisingly, as a demigod of Mnemosyne, you are a great carver and have a talent in woodworking. This is because Mnemosyne carved the Throne of Memory, a white coloured wooden chair that people would sit on to clear their madness, from when they visited the Oracle Trophonius; while also allowing them to recite whatever Trophonius said in an articulate, coherent manner.
This is great as you use your woodworking skills to keep making more shelves to hold more books. You’ve eventually made tables and chairs, but you can’t help noticing something weird whenever someone sits in your chairs…oh well, what a coincidence! You do make a mean ‘ thinking’ chair! - Due to Mnemosyne’s connection with oracles, once you appear into camp, you work closely with the children of Apollo, and the Oracle (depending when you arrived and were claimed before or after Rachel Dare came into position). You either are approached or you’re already writing down and logging every prophecy or anything close to prophetic that has happened. They end up being collected and housed in the Big House, as well as a copy of these prophecies are in your own collection due to your godly mother’s realm.
The Athena cabin have been more than eager to show and help with their organization system when you inquire how to properly sort these books. - You also end up being acquainted with Ella, the Harpy who is the reader of the Sibylline Books and with impeccable memory of books. You at first talked with her as she recounted the prophecies as you wrote them down but began to come closer as you devoured books.
If you have any writings of your own, Ella would be very eager to read them, regardless if they were finished or not. If you don’t feel ready to share your writings and stories with her, be sure to keep them away, otherwise, she is a very eager beta reader who will remember changes in drafts and keeps you on track about your worldbuilding and so forth.
She is a constant fixture in your library and you two share her little nest, reading books with each other. - Speaking of Prophecies, whether because of your involvement in the memorization and exposure to prophecies or simply being a demigod afflicted with demigod dreams, or being able to pick up patterns of various events, you may also have prophetic abilities.
At some point, you’ve compiled anything prophetic that you personally experienced in a book of your own, and it's always a deja vu moment. - You eventually learn from Ella about peeking and being in people’s memories. The details are fuzzy (ha!) but as the demigod child of the memory titaness, this is your ability. Most of the time, you are an observer to the memory and are able to draw them out if they are lost or submerged deep in the subconsciousness, but if you so desire, you can manipulate them. However, this part of your power should remain a secret and kept with a tight reign because to change a memory, is to change a person.
“I’m surprised no one kept a log of prophecies up until now” you said as you reviewed some of the past prophecies since the time of Percy Jackson’s arrival, all written down in a book with copies in book and scroll form.
You were now looking over a draft page design for it to be possibly memorialized in something like stone and wondered if any of the Hephaestus kids knew how to do stone etching and carving.
“More prophecies. More words. More books for Ella to read and remember” chirped Ella as she was running her clawed fingers gently over the recently prescribed words and the descriptions and notes you all put down together.
“That’s right” you agreed while nodding. “It may serve as history but it could help future demigods to learn from past prophecies and may be even keep us two steps ahead.”
“Though the Fates will always have something planned so we can’t always know either” noted Rachel, her eyes not leaving the book cover designs and materials that were planned to be used to create the bound books.
“True. We are always in the mercy of the gods and the fates” you sighed, twirling your pen in thought.
“I’m surprised a lot of these prophecies still survived, even though they already came to pass” said Rachel.
“Well, the Greeks have always orally told their stories and prophecies; heck, it’s why my mother Mnemosyne invented language and emphasized reciting and remembering; like Ella, but also reading and writing too. At some point though, oral history could easily be lost too so we have to memorialize it anyway we can and practice both.”
Rachel furrowed her eyebrows. “I wonder if being an oracle naturally makes you remember the prophecies because if not for that, I can’t imagine how many prophecies could’ve been forgotten.” she paused before her face darkened. “Or if Nero and the other roman emperors were successful in destroying all the oracles.”
You and Ella stop in what you were doing and looked at each other to share a silent message before you got up to place a gentle hand on her shoulder.
“Hey, its probably why Mnemosyne sent me here; to make sure none of the words of the gods and the fates could be forgotten or twisted to help humanity” you said, “besides, we’re not all alone anymore.”
“Yes, friends together are good. Stick together like a flock. Read many books safe in the library” Ella chirped repeatedly as she glided down, her wings patting Rachel’s back. “Much like Ella and Tyson keeping the Sibylline books together.”
“Oh yeah, you have to introduce me to Tyson sometime” you said, “I wanna know how you managed to tattoo all of the Sibylline passages on a cyclop’s back.”
“Tyson is very strong. His back is safe. Ella feels safe here too” blushed Ella as she pretended her feathers.
You and Rachel giggled.
You leaned back in your cabin and semi-library, and smiled as a nostalgic, safe feeling wash over you. “Well the library is Mnemosyne’s domain and she’ll keep anyone here safe. She probably knows your love of books Ella and she kept you safe for as long as she did.”
Ella smiled and chirped. “Ella loves books and libraries. Will keep them safe and cared for like a nest.”
“Please do” you smiled.
Rachel sighed happily as she placed down her sketchbook as you could see the detailed designs and drafts scrawled over. She stretched her body and mouth into a smile.
“I never knew how much I needed to do this. Anytime I was about to have a prophecy, it would keep building in my chest and threaten to choke me. Before I realized I was an Oracle, I kept painting and painting which helped a lot but even now, when the prophecies are told, it feels different now they’re etched into words.”
“Well, you know what they say: “A picture is worth a thousand words”. I think Mnemosyne would also appreciate you having your art since she is responsible for artistic inspiration,” you said, “and now we’re putting it into both visual and literary.”
Rachel beamed as she sat in the chair you had just recently made, “It’s nice having you here, [f/n [l/n], child of Mnemosyne; titan of memory, remembrance, language, artistic inspiration.”
“And thank you for the welcome Rachel Elizabeth Dare, Oracle of Delphi, and Ella the Harpy, Reader of the Oracle Sibylline Books, for your warm welcome and companionship with your effort of my titan mother Mnemosyne” you replied back.
Rachel and Ella beamed, before a strange look came over the human oracle.
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
“I think…I’m about to get another prophecy” told Rachel.
“What?!”
“But its weird, I keep getting them only when I sit in this chair and the more I sit in it, the more they become clearer-”
“...the chair? The chair that I just finished carving and assembling together?” you pointed out.
“Yeah…it’s weird…? Or it could be that I’m just about to let out a prophecy but I don’t know what the trigger is-”
You remembered something and a strange forebearing feeling came over you. “....I know there’s the Throne of Mnemosyne that allows you to receive prophecies properly but I’m just a demigod, surely not-” you laughed nervously and dismissively-
The door was slammed open, making you all jump with Ella squawking and flying up into the rafters, as Apollo-Lester slid into view and pointed to you, and specifically the chair. “DON’T LET HER SIT IN THAT CHAIR-”
“OH COME ON-”
Chapter 28: THEMIS
Notes:
Here we go, time for Themis! She has always been a part of my mind as a kid how I found out that Lady Justice was sort of also Themis in inspiration and that always felt cool to young me. Doing research for her made her even more cooler, even if she isn’t the most exciting out there at first. Thanks for reading and have a nice day!
Chapter Text
👩⚖️ THEMIS “TITANESS OF DIVINE LAW, ORDER, AND CUSTOM” ♎
- When you get claimed at Camp, it was just after you meditated between two different demigods that almost brought both of their cabins into a war with each other.
- Everyone was gathering around the two and you could see people were starting to talk about which side they would support. A rising feeling of anxiety and urgency filled you, as you listened from the rumors and gossip. You then went to talk to both the demigods of Ares and Athena separately to get their side of the story, before calling a meeting between them to come to a mutual compromise.
When both sides agreed and made a peaceful conclusion, you smiled but it quickly dropped as everyone gasped and murmured around you. You looked up and saw the sign of Libra the scales ♎ before you were announced that you were the demigod of Themis, the Titaness of Divine Law, Order, and Custom. - If you were either born between September 23rd and October 22nd, or have more than one Libra Sign in your Natal Chart, then you are more than likely a child of Themis.
- The Themis Cabin looks like a normal cabin in structure, but the materials and look of it reminded you of a white court building, especially with the greek columns. The inside of the cabin, aside from the separate part where there are living quarters, there is even a judge and jury section inside.
People end up going to your cabin to meditate and you always feel like you’re Judge Judy; especially when there is always an audience. You always see Mr. D munching popcorn in the back, who looks thoroughly entertained. - (You also swear you see three old grannies sitting in the corner that no one seems to acknowledge, knitting away as they watch you with an interested look)
- You love routine and thus rules, that you follow to the T and make sure people don’t break away from it. A ruler follower through and through.
- You get along with the Nemesis cabin as their godly mother is the goddess of retribution and balance, providing order and law, and punishing the unjust, much like Themis herself. You also befriend a child of Nemesis who you get along with swimmingly.
- You also get along with the Athena Cabin, for their more logical thinking and their reasoning. You also get along with Athena and her children as the goddess is the representation of justice for her wisdom, and established the Athenian Legal system (depicted in The Oresteia).
- Another thing you surprisingly do get along with, in terms of circumstances, are the Furies or under another name, the Eumenides/Erinyes. If you go with the story in the Oresteia, where Athena persuades the Kindly Ones to help with the Athenian Legal System and to punish those who were judged against the court of law.
Of course, this doesn’t mean immediate immunity from them if the Themis demigods broke the ancient Greek Law or if somehow pissed off Hades and he sent the Furies after you, you just get along better with than most for the shared fact of enacting law and order. - I’d imagine if the demigod of Themis were to have a power, they would have the power of Balance; the power to manifest opposites in any event or infringe on the concept of itself, or Justice manipulation; where in the face of the law, order, and customs, anything that goes against it, punishment and consequences are enacted.
It has to follow a semblance of morality, laws, and crimes, but also follows Ancient Greek laws and customs (like killing a family member is a big No-No, regardless if it's an act of revenge for the death of another family member); then say human laid out laws. - I can see the child of Themis being good at wielding the sword since Themis, especially modern depiction as Lady Justice, is depicted holding a sword.
- Being a demigod of Themis, also means having stronger prophetic ties than the average demigod, and that means you also have the potential to be an oracle or have the ability to see the future.
This is because Themis was also considered a prophetic goddess who presided over most ancient oracles, including Delphi as she was the divine voice who instructed mankind in the primal laws of justice and morality - You might also have the ability as an oracle to speak for the earth, as Themis was identified with Gaea as the role of the oracular voice of the Earth. You end up being the voice of the nymphs and satyrs as well, as you also can feel the earth talking to you. You may also be allowed as an honorary or guest member of the Council of Cloven Elders for certain situations.
- Speaking of Gaea, as the child of Themis, if they were there during the Gaea awakening arc, I can imagine Gaea speaking to you through the Earth, and using you to speak her words in her place. As Themis was Gaea’s daughter and as her grandchild, you have a deeper connection with Gaea and therefore may have been used in her plans if you were around for the war against Gaea.
The only thing that kept you safe was being a neutral faction of the order of the universe, and your being adhered to the laws, order, and customs set by the gods and humanity following them as well preserving peace much like Themis herself.
- You met Hestia at the hearth at first as you both tend to the pyre for the gods, and she treats you well as she confesses that Themis is her favourite aunt. You get a good idea what your godly mother may be like as you get to know Hestia more and more. You inherit a shawl and it brings a warmth you can almost place; it was warm and as you wrapped it around yourself, you can see a woman’s arms hugging you in a motherly way.
“If I didn’t value peace and resolution so much, I would’ve thrown the book so many times today at people” you bemoaned as you sat around the fire next to Hestia.
The goddess hummed as she tended to the flame before pouring a drink for you with your favourite treat.
“How many times does it make it today?” asked Hestia, even though you both knew she knew and was just asking this question to basically let you open up.
“13 and counting. I know Themis is the titan of divine law, order, and customs but man I didn’t think being her demigod basically made me a judge!”
“And yet, it makes perfect sense,” she teased.
You sighed but nodded.
“Yeah, it does. It always bothered me for as long as I could remember of people fighting or arguing when you know something was wrong or could’ve been compromised, and got into more trouble for not reading the room to interject into people’s conversations, but knowing that it's literally in my blood to make the peace? It sort of validates some things but at the same time, did I ever have a choice?”
Hestia hummed as the fire crackled.
“And yet we both value peace and do what we can to maintain peace.”
You were silent as you pondered. “Is that why you gave up your seat for Mr. D?”
“Yes. Dionysus did his best when he was a demigod to be acknowledged as a god and he rightfully gained it. However, much like my eldest brother Hades, there was no throne for him. In order to keep the peace, I gave up my throne for a seat back at the Hearth, where I tend and create a space whenever of my family need a refuge.”
“You and my mom have your work cut out for just some semblance of peace” you commented.
“Perhaps we do, but it is nonetheless something we wouldn’t have any other way” smiled Hestia.
Chapter 29: KRONOS
Notes:
Here’s to that one anon that asked that Kronos ask and now it has wormed itself into my brain since then. I wasn’t sure if I could write something good about it so this was my attempt. Hope you all enjoy it regardless and thanks for reading. Also if this was weird, yeah that was my feeling towards Kronos. This is totally reflected in the story portion.
Chapter Text
⌛ KRONOS “KING OF THE TITANS, TITAN OF (DESTRUCTIVE, ALL-DEVOURING) TIME, EVIL, AND HARVEST” ⏳
- Your entire existence made everything seem like time had stopped unironically. No one was sure you were real and someone tried to argue that maybe you were a child of Khronos, the primordial god of time in the Orphic Theogonies, but Chiron flatly told them they were now both subsumed into each other as one.
- No one was sure how or why Kronos would have a demigod, but you could sense there was an unspoken conversation as they looked upon you, whispering about how you looked just like him. You noticed a girl with grey eyes look at you with distressed eyes and analyzing you but there was confliction in her eyes, before she left in a hurry. You caught the name ‘Annabeth’ as someone yelled while chasing after her.
- Zeus and all the other olympians weren’t very happy with you existence as it meant a fraction of Kronos’ power existed and as a demigod of Kronos, a hero that could act on behalf of a deity, they thought you could be an agent of Kronos; or worse, be an avatar that would hasten Kronos’ existence once more and become another host for him.
- Strangely, you could see Hermes look at you with not only contempt but also confliction, as if he was seeing someone else in you.
- As you hadn’t technically slighted the gods and offended them, and no Themis, the Titaness of Law, Order, and Custom, said your existence wasn’t enough reason or many demigods would’ve been killed as soon as they were born if that was an actual crime (Everyone looked between Hera and Zeus and wordlessly knew).
Plus as the god of Hospitality, Zeus could not smite you because technically you were a family member by their shared father whether they all liked it or not- - Eventually, it was decided you would remain at Camp on probation to prove yourself you were on the side of the gods, but when you got there, you could feel hostility and other negative emotions towards you. If it weren’t for the fact you really wanted to prove them wrong that you weren’t like Kronos and you were innocent, you could feel yourself tempted to give in to your emotions and enact vengeance onto them.
- Kronos, as the Titan of Destructive Time, and as someone who is mortal, you can’t freely manipulate time without it applying to you as well nor without consequence. You can make time stop, reverse, or fast forward, but you will also be heavily affected as well as manipulating the flow of time goes against the order.
For example, you can slow down time, but it will slow down your heart rate and you can only do it for a short amount of time before you suffer the effects of the lack of blood and oxygen flowing in your brain and body, and can make you faint or worse die.
You can make time flow faster but it places a great stress on your heart as it beats rapidly and you can overstress it into a heart attack.
You can make time stop, but only for a few short seconds at the risk of your heart not beating for a few seconds and I don’t need to tell you why that’s a bad idea.
Doing one of these or all of them repeatedly in consecutive succession is also a threat to your life so use your time and power wisely. - As the demi-titan of destructive time, you can accelerate plants and objects to speed up degradation from passing time, and as they decompose, they can leave a pile of golden sand as a reminder of what was once there.
- You’re situated at the Hermes cabin because you aren’t exempt from every other demigod who doesn’t have a cabin to call their own, but as you were brought in to a bunk bed, you could hear a few of them blurt out that are they sure this was the only bed left and there was a bit of back and forth.
You did offer to sleep on the floor and while you could see them consider it, in the end they did tell you that there was no need to sleep on the floor if there was a perfectly good bed for you to use and they weren’t crammed full of demigods that were unclaimed or didn’t have a cabin. - Eventually you properly met with Percy Jackson and you both knew that he was there to evaluate you. It was awkward for a long while but eventually you got the conversation going and you revealed yourself to him, not leaving anything unfiltered, even as it felt foreign. Even though you didn’t feel like baring yourself to the guy who defeated your godly parent and you knew they expected him to do the same to you based on his own decision, you couldn’t hold anything back because that would only add suspicion to you. If you were going down, you were going down as innocent and truthful.
- Chiron, bless him, did his duty and earnestly taught you like every other student and demigod under his care, but you can tell by the nervous shifting of his hooves and tail, you did make him slightly uncomfortable. You also knew he was a son of Kronos himself but was shunned by your shared father, so you weren’t sure how to feel any kinship towards him or not.
- Eventually Percy revealed to you that it was awkward, not just because Kronos had a demigod? Demi-titan but those who were there during the Second Titan War, knew how he did it. Eventually, he pulled out a photograph and when he showed it to you, you saw a boy whose facial features seemed to resemble yours.
If you weren’t told or weren’t aware of the second Titan War, or you were aware at your time during Camp, you came to realization that you were also yes, Kronos’ demi-titan, but your facial features and appearance came half from the host Kronos used…you looked just like Luke Castellan, former demigod son of Hermes,
And thus everything made sense. - Percy promised you (not on the River Styx though) that he would help you as best as he can and he was going to do by good to Luke Castellan, who he promised to help all those years ago, that he was going to give you the best chance possible and that you weren’t Kronos, and you were your own person. You felt so tired and relieved that you had someone in your corner, and out of the corner of your eye, you saw a shimmer before Annabeth Chase stood before you, in her hand, a Yankees Baseball Cap.
Surprised and shocked that she was probably there this entire time, Annabeth confessed to you about her connection to Luke and apologized about her reaction to you, as you looked like just him, her pseudo-brother, and that she was going to make it up to you as well.
- It’s not the best start or situation, but you felt a little bit hopeful that you weren’t entirely alone and you weren’t set up to fail intentionally.
“So people have been weird to me, not because I’m the demigod of Kronos, the Titan of Time, who came back to life to restart another titan war against the gods that happened not that long ago,” you started, a headache already throbbing, “but also I look like Luke Castellan, who was greatly beloved at Camp, rebelled against the gods and became the host for Kronos, but also was your son too?”
You didn’t want to count all of that on your fingers and looked instead at the person in front of you. Hermes, the messenger of the gods, god of roads, travellers, merchant, thieves, and many other realms…including being the father of Luke Castellan, who also may or may not have actual blood relation to you.
“Yes, that sounds about in order,” said Hermes, clearing his throat.
“So…does that mean that I’m related to you? I apparently look like your son…” you furrowed your face in cringe, “I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be rude but I find this to be a bit awkward-”
“This is also a first for me, and I am a god. You can imagine how rare that is” admitted Hermes as he nervously played with his caduceus, George and Martha smoothly adjusting themselves and moving along with his fiddling.
You shared another awkward pause before Hermes spoke.
“Kronos himself was cut into pieces and tossed into Tartuarus, so he does not have a corporeal form so to speak. Many who are condemned to Tartarus cannot leave but there have been times of gods appearing in places regardless where they are tied to and were able to have demigods.”
“I’m sensing a ‘-but’ here-”
“-but if he could’ve done that, Kronos wouldn’t need a host in my son then” said Hermes bitterly, “So it is a high possibility that you are both my son’s and Kronos’ child.”
“...I don’t know how the genetics work and I am very afraid to ask but also curious” you admitted.
“Normally, god genetics don’t necessarily work in the same way as human genetic” he tried to say.
“It still doesn’t change the fact I’m very likely your grandchild and Krono’s child too in premise” you argued.
“Technically you are a legacy but you will be known as Kronos’ demigod…demi-titan?” Hermes said in confusion.
“Oh that makes me feel better that demi-titans don’t exist” you groaned.
“Well, technically there have been mortal children of titans but even Hecate’s half mortal children are called demigods, even though by and large, she is also a Titaness-”
“Not helping”
“Yup”
More awkward silence filled the space between you before the gnawing feeling of dread was becoming too much.
“So what happens to me now? I get Kronos was a bad guy but I didn’t have anything to do with what he did.”
Hermes sighed as his face turned sad yet affectionate. “My father Zeus has always been rather…judgemental but he is fair (at times). He won’t strike you down for merely existing since you haven’t done anything wrong. Yet. However, he doesn’t like the fact that Kronos has a demigod and he fears you could be used another host or as an extension of Kronos’ will.”
“So, I’m under supervision. I can’t mess up or Zeus will strike me regardless.”
“He is the king of the gods but Themis won’t let him break laws and order” he said, “and it may seem shallow for you coming from a god, you look like my son and I don’t want to lose my son again, so know I’m supporting you as best as I can and we’ll prove to Zeus you are innocent.”
You stared at Hermes and you started to see yourself in him, the fatherly persona now coming in and you wondered if Luke ever saw it. You sighed at the mix feelings but gave a tired smile.
“You know what, I’ll take it. Thank you Hermes.”
“Don’t thank me just yet. I haven’t saved you or my son yet.”
Chapter 30: RHEA
Notes:
You know after all the asks about Rhea, you would think I would write something official for her. Though with the amount of asks about Rhea, I wasn’t compelled to do so until now. So here it is! If you’ve read the past Rhea asks, you will see a lot of repeated words because I did just take stuff from there and put it into here cause they were rather substantial. Anyways, enjoy the little story I wrote at the end cause why not at this point! Thanks for reading and hope you have a good day!
Chapter Text
🤰 RHEA “TITANESS OF MOTHERHOOD, FERTILITY, COMFORT, EASE, AND PROTECTION AND BLESSING, MOTHER OF THE GODS, THE GREAT MOTHER” ☮
- Following the dreams and motherly words, you were climbing over the hill of Delphi Strawberries, and saw the lone Pine Tree that stood over. You noticed the giant dragon that curled itself around the base of the tree and the sparkling golden fleece hanging over its branches. The dragon cracked open an eye, its nostrils bellowing smoke and you smiled gently but cautious as you greeted it softly. The dragon rumbled and yawned, before closing its eyes.
Taking it as a sign that you were allowed to pass, you crossed the boundary and immediately saw all of Camp Half Blood as the dream had told you. There was already a great crowd of people just down the hill and that was when you were claimed.
A bright golden turret crown appeared over your head. It floated just so that as everyone looked up at you, it looked like the crown was sitting upon your head. People were murmuring and you could hear in the distance of the trees and wind chimes calling your name.} - Everyone keeps trying to get a look at the demigod of Rhea, not because there is anything wrong but more so the fact Rhea hadn’t been seen for a millennia by anyone aside from the Olympians and maybe a few close others. And after her experience with Kronos, no one expected her to go out and have a child with a mortal is almost unfathomable.
- Dionysus takes personal responsibility over you because he is a grandma’s boy and because Rhea helped him a lot, by curing him of madness induced by Hera when he was a demigod, and taught him religious rites that solidified himself as a god. He doesn’t treat you as his favourite explicitly but people who have known Mr. D for a while can see him being a touch more gentle with you.
If you’re a son of Rhea, he’s protective because he can sense Zeus rumbling with jealousy and if you’re a daughter of Rhea, well…he’s going to practically treat you as his own daughter. - If you’ve been told you’re the sweetest, kindest, calm person, you’ve inherited Rhea’s characteristics but it doesn’t mean you’re a complete push over or a perfect angel. Your personality can be gruff and tough but there is a comfort and ease behind the strong persona like a heavy weighted blanket. However, you are most definitely a pacifist and rather choose not to fight unless directly threatened.
- Whether it's based on your character or power, you can induce serenity and make people feel at ease around you. As the demi-titan of Rhea, the Titan of Comfort and Ease, you are able to emit feelings of tranquility much like seen in Hestia, where they just exude comfort and ease, giving an aura of warmth, comfort, safety, and so forth.
The caveat is that as a power, it can only be attuned if they practice the act of comfort and ease. Something like achieving Inner Peace but with Comfort and Ease. The best way I can put into perspective is that the child of Rhea already exudes comfort and ease but their aura leaks out much like a leaky tap. Only when they come into their power can they let the power of Comfort and Ease flow out of them like getting the stuck tap to flow. - I can also imagine their power being used to force their opponents to not fight, in a sense where a child of Hypnos just makes their enemy fall asleep kind of deal, getting their opponents or target to lose their desire to fight. In a better situation, it can be used to keep the peace and ensure communication is exchanged with words and not fists; which if they were at Camp, this would be used in so many ways. In most situations, people are drawn to them to just feel at peace.
However, this power is not necessarily a good thing to have on all the time. - While Comfort and Ease are good things, it is a passive thing and things cannot always be passive. They will have to learn or be forced to allow things to happen and it is inevitable that people will fight one way or another because it is required and there are reasons to fight and be active in. Even Rhea took the initiative to plan Kronos’ downfall when he started swallowing their infant children.
- Considering Rhea is often associated with nature, earth, and the mountains, and of the such, you may also have a connection with nature. I dunno if you could say minor nature manipulation but you definitely can communicate it in a way. You definitely have a better connection with the nymphs and dryads.
- If you manage somehow to get lions, then you’re going to have a lion companion. Or if you somehow get your hands or meet a Rhea bird, the South American Ostrich. The reason why is pretty self-explanatory because the bird was named after Rhea herself and it might as well be considered one of her sacred animal, and being her demigod, well, yeah you get the point.
- I can see the child of Rhea being able to pick up general skills to invoke protection and blessing, healing, and so forth. It’s not as powerful as a god but as a half-titan, you also have the ability to cure afflictions. The demigod of Rhea is often seen at the Apollo cabin and medical ward helping to care and ease for those hurt, mostly out of their own initiative.
- You’re the only one who can walk into the Grove of Dodona that surrounds Camp Halfblood without going insane. You often can be seen tending to the trees who talk to you often. Their attitudes are less…dominant towards you but they’re still quite talkative and gossipy at times.
- There’s a possibility that you have prophetic tendencies, whether through you or being able to interpret with the help of the Grove of Dodona. You also become the caretaker of the Grove, the wind and the trees constantly whispering to you for company.
- If you ever come into the need to or have to, you probably could have a staff or the staff base of your weapon made from the wood from the Grove of Dodona, much like Iris’s staff is made from the grove too.
- You also can be found making pottery and while people are confused how you’re so good at making pottery, you just admit the clay just wields to your fingers and just seems to seeming come together, you find out through Lester that Rhea has started a pottery studio somewhere. You faintly remember a memory of chubby baby hands being guided to mold a big lump of clay, bigger warmer and steady hands helping you as the woman smiled at you with love.
- You’re going to be visited by all the Olympians, mostly those with connections with Rhea as her child and grandchildren. Try as they might hide it in their ‘mortal’ forms. Sometimes you don’t know, and sometimes you do. The only thing stopping the gods (cough Zeus) from messing with you is because they don’t want to make mother mad at them. This opens to shenanigans as long as you don’t explicitly dishonour or disrespect the gods.
“So…I take this is unusual for mother,” you said slowly, carefully trying to wrap your mind around being a demigod? Demi-titan of Rhea; the Mother of the Gods and you know, the (former) of Kronos.
“Try highly unusual, in fact you are the first demigod of mother” said Hades, “and I would know if there were any others before you as they would’ve ended up in my realm.”
“Also Zeus, as the one who claims to know mother most, would not be able to be quiet about not being the youngest sibling anymore” added in Hera.
You stared at the two gods in front of you as you politely stirred your cup of tea. After you were claimed as the half-mortal child of Rhea, everything had flipped over and sent everything in an absolute panic. Mr. D was absolutely breaking down, Chiron was trying to get a semblance of order, and while you tried to calm everyone down, you accidentally let out a power of full calmness that made everything in camp stop.
Then Hestia came forward, grabbed Dionysus’s hand and yours before calmly taking you to the side and then you were taken to Olympus, and now there was this. Having tea with Hades; the God of the Dead and Riches, Lord of the Underworld, and Hera, Goddess of Marriage, Queen of the Olympus.
Your technical older godly half-siblings. Which you were having tea with.
“So…not that I’m not enjoying the company, but why is that you’re here? I’d imagine you have more pressing issues to deal with then” you said.
“Mother has never had a mortal child before and after our…father, we had assumed greatly that she was dissuaded marrying or being with another man” started Hera-
“No one would have blamed her. After all, she had to witness her husband swallow every child she had born” scoffed Hades.
“And other than the times we have sent invitations to mother for our brunches, Mother has rarely shown herself anywhere” added Hera, “Even when we visit her in locations, we seldom catch her there uninvited. Even now we don’t know where she is.”
You remembered grubby baby hands, playing with clay in a studio with a woman encouraging you by cooing and the rumbling purrs of lions as your lullaby.
“Yet, here you are; clearly a child of man as well as our mother” said Hera, “Zeus has everyone looking for mother to get things straight, and even Apollo who had seen her most recently, doesn’t know where she may be either.”
“Zeus has always prided himself on being the youngest of us all and while my business with the Underworld have kept me exempted from this, I don’t trust what Zeus will do to you when he has the opportunity to catch you alone” said Hades.
“What? I’m only a demigod, Lord Hades” you said.
“It is because you are a demigod that Zeus may feel threatened by you. Gods cannot directly interfere with each other but heroes have always been used on behalf of the gods. You are capable of change and depending on what you do, or how Zeus feels, he may strike you down. And I’m in no hurry for you to join me in the underworld earlier.”
“Oh. That’s rather kind of you.”
Hades grumbled but you did catch the slight blush to his ears.
“And as for me, I’m here because I rather enjoy not being the second youngest and I will not have Zeus take that opportunity from me” huffed Hera, “Besides, he better not do anything that make more cross with him.”
She glared at the sky and clouds as if she thought Zeus was eavesdropping from above. Given the sky is his domain…that was pretty much the case.
You and Hades sipped your respective drink to keep quiet about it.

Chapter Text
PJO MISC. DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: 🌞 HELIOS “TITAN OF THE SUN, SIGHT, HEAT, AND MEASUREMENT OF TIME, THE ALL-SEEING, GUARDIAN OF OATHS”🌞 {Wave 6.0.}
- The moment you roll up, everyone and everything goes to (theoretical) hell. Not that you’re a harbinger of chaos or anything, but everything is falling apart; you just threw everyone’s perspective of reality out of the loop.
- You arrived as the sun was high and as soon as you stepped into Camp Half Blood, everyone saw the sun haloing behind you with a claim with the aureole above your head, and from their perspective, positioned just behind your head.
No one knew who your godly parent was, although you seemed very much like a child of Apollo, that is until Chiron, Mr. D, and Lester who switched back into Apollo, let out an a ‘totally dignified’ gasp before someone managed to coax out the truth; that you’re the demigod child of Helios, the Titan of the Sun and Sight, and whose godly parent had at that point, had disappeared back into Chaos herself.
- You eventually find out that you’re godly father Helios is a reborn version of himself, with core details remaining from stories and is still a largely human concept from the stories of Heracles, Persephone, Odysseus, and etc; as well as that brief time in the 4th century AD Helios’ worship and relevancy was brought back for a short moment by Roman Emperor Julian, so there’s a good chance that there are/were legacies of Helios in Camp Jupiter.
However, Apollo who went to find out this Helios is much weaker and less experienced than the Old Helios. There are still remnants of the old Helios he remembers that surfaces from time to time, but largely is much more chirper then before.
- You also find out he’s located in Rhode Island, just above New Long Island where Camp Half-blood is located because there’s a myth of Helios being gifted the Island of Rhode after the Titan War (and also being married to a goddess Rhode, who is the daughter of Poseidon and/or Aphrodite/Amphitrite); as the gods are located at the Empire State Building, then Helios would be located at Rhode Island.
You either have a faint memory of Rhode Island and Coney Island, or have a weird pull towards it, and a man who was bright like the sun offering you a hot dog.
- It wasn’t sure if you were to be put into the Hermes Cabin, following normal procedure, but no one expected a demi-titan to appear and Helios to appear at that; but they weren’t also sure if Helios was going have a cabin built considering the uncertainty if Helios was still ‘present’ or the gods would allow that. It was then Apollo-Lester allowed you or any potential children of Helios to sleep in the Apollo cabin until or if there was going to be a Helios Cabin.
- Apollo-Lester reasoned that because Apollo took over Helios’ duties and he subsumed much of his domain, you were technically under his domain as well. He also confessed that he had promised to Helios when he was brought back forcefully from Tartarus and from Medea, it only felt right that he would extend his help towards you.
- You’re pretty much like a child of Apollo, which isn’t surprising given mythological, but you’re so much brighter yet harsher. Helios is the Titan God of the Sun before Apollo, guardian of oaths, and god of sight. There are many similarities between you and the child of Apollo, but something is always different.
- While you can’t heal innately like a child of Apollo could, you can however, use magic; more so if you’re a daughter of Helios. This is mostly due to evidence of Helios’ famous offspring having magical connections, such as Circe, Pasiphae (responsible for the Labyrinth) and Medea. You can probably learn to heal with your magical talents, as well as other things.
Nonetheless, you’ll find some help with the Hecate cabin. There’s also a chance you might encounter Circe somewhere out in the world, waiting for her half-sibling to appear to learn the magical arts from her as well.
- Personality-wise, you’re likely to inherit Helios’ characteristics where you are so positive and bright but it’s so dominant and overwhelming that it can make people sweat and uncomfortable at times. It's not necessarily a bad thing but under the wrong circumstances, there is such a thing as having too much of a good thing being bad for you.
Much like in the tale in Aesop Fables of “The Contest of Helios and Boreas”, your presence is not a direct force but one of constant presence.
- Helios’ sun and light is much brighter and harsher, like the sun over a plain field, just below a harsh bright light that’s almost searing. A child of Helio’s light is bright, blinding, and borderline painful that feels like the fire of a sunburn…almost quite literally.
- Not only do you have stronger light powers, it naturally transitions into being able to manipulate fire to an extent. There is a balance of light and fire to each of the elements, so it will take a bit of juggling. You are literally a burning sun but how bright and hot you can go will depend on you, with the risk of actually harming yourself and burning yourself out.
- Helios is a man of his word as the Guardian of Oaths, much like Apollo as the God of Truth, so as a child of Helios, you are dedicated and honourable but you will finish the job one way or another. If someone violates their promise or oath, you’ll make them feel your wrath for breaking it and your trust.
- As a god of Sight, I’d imagine unlike a child of Apollo with their prophetic sight, you are more ‘all-seeing’ in the form of Clairvoyance, or something of that note. This is because Helios is the God of Sight because anything underneath the sun, he could see everything.
Your powers allow you to see anything invisible or anything that transpired underneath the light; however the exception is that as soon as it's nighttime or if it happened under the domain of the night and shadows, it is hidden from you.
You have to shine a bright flashlight in the dark to make the area bright to be able to see what is going on; but even then, your view becomes limited. Or maybe whenever you catch a glimmer of bright light, your eyes catching the ray of a rainbow, the glare of the sun bouncing off a reflective surface, you are able to grasp a premonition as well.
Basically, everything the light touches is yours…except for where darkness takes space.

Sweat was prespirating onto your skin but as you could feel it appearing, you could also feel it dissipating into nothingness at the same time. Your skin was in a constant sensation of being wet, dry, cold and hot repeatedly.
Not to mention, adding on the fact you could feel your muscles straining as you tried to raise the power within you while also tempering it out so you don’t go supernova as you practice controlling your photokinesis, that was absolutely blinding that threatened to burn.
Which was the real threat as you found out when you were surprised and out of instinct let out a blinding power of light and fire. The only reason no one else was harmed was the fact Will Solace and Leo Valdez just so happened to be there, counteracting simultaneously your powers, while Percy Jackson was creating a barrier of water around all of you protecting everyone else.
Hence the training session with the help of Will and Leo, and the occasional appearance of Lester-Apollo. There were other visitors from time to time as well like Nico but he kept going in and out due to his tolerance to your light, but you could see him give a thumbs up from the distance so that was something.
“Alright, stop, stop! ” called out Will, his voice sounding distorted over the warbling energy of your light and fire.
You forcefully clamped down on the energy and everything just dropped. You realized you messed up at the output and everything came crashing down all at once. You felt a cold chill take over you like you were plunged in the winter ice cold lake despite the hot summer rays, which was probably the only thing stopping you from being absolutely sent into oblivion as you could feel yourself grasping to absorb the power.
You collapsed onto the ground, your lungs and blood struggling to regulate. Blankets were dropped over your body, your hands desperately trying to wrap themselves around yourself tighter before you could feel Will’s Light and Leo’s fire coming from both sides. Like a desperate sponge, your body was involuntarily absorbing them before they yanked their hands away.
“Okay, this was better than last time. A lot less burning” said Leo, his hands sputtering bits of fire.
“But I don’t like it how your powers literally drain everything out of you like this” observed Will as he gave you energy bars as Leo poured you hot chocolate to help with your shaking chill.
“But isn’t that the same for you?” you slurred out tiredly.
“Sort of? In this environment it doesn’t take that much out of me but last time I was in Tartarus with Nico, I was super drained out of energy and slept a lot; but I never experienced chills.”
You grunted in displeasure but hummed as you felt your body building back energy again, your limbs regaining mobility from their ice cold state. You flexed your fingers as they creaked slightly. You sighed as colour returned to your complexion before you let the blanket warm your legs.
“I really wish I could control this better,” you complained. “I don’t want to accidentally smite someone by accident.”
“Hey you’ll get there” said Leo, “Anytime soon you’ll be able to control light and fire…though not as good as me of course” he teased.
“You have been making progress besides you’re a child of Helios, which is something no one has expected, none even the gods so don’t be too hard on yourself. We all have our weakness as well as strengths” said Will, “Besides, you came at the right time with my ability and Leo’s, so you’re not alone.”
You gave a thankful smile and nodded. “Yeah, thank you guys”.
“Not a problem. Just welcome to Camp Halfblood.”
Chapter 32: 🌅EOS🌄
Notes:
Hello again everyone! This time it will be Eos! I saw some of you asking for it the ask so its not I haven’t considered it but by the time you guys asked for it, I was already working away on it 👍 Its was weird doing search up Eos cause she was conflated with Hemera, the Primordial of Day, which was both easier since I did do some research during the Primordial demigods hcs, but also difficult since it was hard finding details that were uniquely Eos.
Thankfully Eos does appear a few times in mythos, especially with the Trojan war so there’s that! It was also weird because in the Wiki fandom site, they had Eos have cryokinesis power which I couldn’t figure out why??? Anyways, hope you all enjoy this!
Chapter Text
PJO MISC. DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: 🌅 EOS “PERSONIFICATION/TITAN GODDESS OF THE DAWN, DEW” 🌄 {Wave 6.0.}
- Zephryus landed you down on the dew covered grass, as you arrived at Camp just at the crack of dawn, the sun was peering over the skyline, a rosy orange glow pushing forward, pulling back the curtain of the night and stars. There wasn’t just anyone awake yet as you stood on top of camp, the rosy dawn washing over camp. You stared above it for a bit, catching your breath a bit before walking down to Camp, brushing past the dewdrops that there were on the grass.
- A little girl with a brown shawl greeted Zephyrus and gave you a smile as she led you to the brazier as you helped her add more coals to it, allowing the fire to build back up into a roaring fire and she gave you a sweet bun when Chiron appeared, yawning and stretching into the air.
He was startled to see Zephryus who was greeting the centaur and then started at you sitting there and you greeted yourself, when a claim appeared over your head as dawn had broken through, a symbol of a cicada floating above you; thus Eos claiming you as her demigod child.
- Chiron led you into the Big House, waking up Mr. D who was grumpy, especially when Zephyrus was there uninvited but then choked when the god of the West Winds confirmed you were a child of Eos, who was told by his godly mother to make you arrived at Camp and to confirm you were one of her owns; who was worried you wouldn’t be able to make it.
- It wasn’t surprising that Eos had a demigod child but what was surprising was that it took this long to have one of her demigod children arrive at Camp, considering Eos was cursed by Aphrodite to constantly fall in love as punishment for sleeping with Ares that one time. There may be more of you out there, but why they aren’t at Camp either, it’s unsure.
- If you’re more of an optimistic or a person who tends to have rose coloured glasses, who tends to see the best in things at times or tries to find the good in things, you’re likely a child of Eos as Eos is often referred to with Rosy- often because of her ‘rosy-fingers’.
- If you have a love for all things beautiful or have a tendency to finding beauty in everything, that can be also be attributed by the rosy epithet that you’ve inherited from Eos, as you tend to have ‘rose-coloured’ glasses.
- Eos was often referenced with wearing a lot of gold from gold robes, sandals, and even being golden-armed. So if you tend to lean towards gold, then that’s probably why. Paired with the connection with Rose and Gold, Rose-Gold is the ultimate gold of Eos and her demigod children.
- Your Cabin is made with gold and a tint of rose gold, painted with the colours of dawn. When you enter it, there’s a constant presence of Saffron and Roses as well; either in scent or in appearance.
- That said, if you notice your fingers or nails often having a flush, rosy colour, this is a physical feature that you inherited from Eos; whose rosy-fingers brings the red tint to the colour of dawn and sunrise. In a more literal sense, if you touch a rose bush that hasn't bloomed yet, or even focus hard enough to touch the ground, you can make roses bloom too.
- There’s also a chance you make saffron bloom as they used the word to describe Eos as well.
- Much like her brother Helios, she was also considered ‘All-seeing’ and you probably have the power of Clairvoyance through the eyes as well.
- Eos has been also been referenced with the word Aurora (her roman counterpart) and Aura; where the greeks referenced it to the breeze but also attributed to Eos herself, while also being the Mother of the Winds: Boreas, Eurus, Notus, and Zephyrus.
So there is a chance you have the ability to have minor manipulation or influence the winds and air. You might also be able to talk to the four winds but that requires and hinges on your relationship and respect from the four winds and on the mood of your godly half-siblings.
- Going back to the power of Clairvoyance and the words of “Aura”, this applies modern usage of Aura as well- so your clairvoyant abilities may come in the form of being able to see someone’s aura. You can gauge someone’s personality and nature based on their aura as well as their emotions primarily.
However, when you start to encounter demigods and the world you all belong to, you also realize you can tell what their godly parent is, if it's a satyr in disguise, or better yet, if there’s a monster hiding in your midst.
For example, a child of Zeus’s aura is crackling and stormy with energy, a child of Aphrodite is pink and addicting-
- There was a time you noticed a god but they looked at you with intrigue before quietly stopping you because you musn’t stare at their aura either for too long as you are looking a part of their divine form, and while you might not be incinerated looking at it, you’ll suffer the consequences too.
You’ll be lucky if you just get eye astigmatism or become blind then over your life or going mad.
- With a connection to drawing power from dewdrops, you can also manipulate mist; both the natural phenomenon of mist and the veil of mists that is between the mortal realm and the realm of gods and monsters. This is because Eos is connected with mists in many stories to describe her and her duties as dawn “with her rays of light dispersed the mists of night” (Theoi, Eos)
- If you have an appreciation for the Aurora-Borealis, that’s also because of Eos and one of her immortal children, Boreas. You might also be able to summon it at times but it does take a bit out of you so probably something you can only do once a blue moon ... .and you don’t want to throw off scientists when you make it happen in locations where they shouldn’t be appearing.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
The weather was cold but you knew it could be a whole lot more freezing at this time of year in Quebec. There were still remnants of the city being absolutely covered in nothing but snow and ice as if they were built out of it, but spring was arriving soon…hence why you were on the top floor of the hotel’s tower with Boreas; the God of the North Wind, Storms, Winter, Ice and Snow and Zephyrus; The God of the West (Gentle) Wind, Spring, and Attendant of Eros, were in front of you.
You were brought here by Zephryus, a pit stop he said, and were greeted by Boreas’ children, Zethes and Calais, then being greeted by Khione.
The Snow Goddess greeted Zephyrus with respect, but when she looked at you, her face and eyes were cold to you. You weren’t sure if that was just her nature or was that her true feelings for you. It was probably because you were with Zephyrus that you weren’t turned into an ice sculpture.
“Ah, Zephyros, frere! comment as-tu été? Ça fait rop longtemps!” Greeted Boreas towards his brother first.
Boreas had greeted you not long after, after the winds traded small talk at first before they looked at you and hence here you were, sitting down at a grand table with drinks and snacks. You watched Zephyrus take a sip before he nodded before you politely took a sip and bite (you tried not to lose your nerve as you saw Khione sending you metaphorical ice daggers from behind her father).
“So, my brother here, tells me that you are a child of our mother, Eos, a half mortal child as well” said Boreas as he regarded you.
“Um, yes sir. Apparently sir” you said as you gripped the chilling cup.
Boreas hummed, running his hand through his beard in thought. “Interesting”
“Is it?”
“ Oui! While Eos, the Titaness of Dawn, is not a stranger bearing half mortal children, it has been many eons since she had one. Especially after she lost our half-brother Memnon fought and was killed by Achilles in the Trojan War. Her tears created so much dew that it almost flooded the plains” he said.
“Oh ... .mother must’ve loved him greatly” you said.
“Indeed! She even asked Hephaesteus to give her arms to Memnon in preparation to fight against Achilles, but alas he died with mother’s gift” he grumbled. You could hear the wind being agitated outside of the fortress and you were slightly nervous, looking at Zephyrus for some sort of comfort.
The God of the West Winds didn’t seem deterred but you were also aware that whatever north winds Boreas blew wouldn’t hurt him. You couldn’t gauge how much Zephyrus was amicable to you considering you only met the god for a short while, even if he said that he met you once as a baby to take you to your mortal parent.
“Brother, must I remind you why we’re here. If you have nothing more to say, we have to move on so we can send our youngest sibling to Camp” reminded Zephyrus.
Boreas’s clouded face became clear as he let out a laugh. “Ah yes! I wanted to know you a bit better as a fellow child of Eos, as mother hasn’t made herself appear in a while so I wanted to know what kind of child you are. Even Zephyrus was caught off guard when our mother summoned him out of the blue from her silence for so long to only present a tiny babe.”
“Well, I am certainly a child” you emphasized. Hopefully reminding that you were in fact, very innocent and was not part of any plan or whatever paranoid Boreas may be having.
“ Oui , t’es! Your winds may not be very strong but who knows?” he shrugged before he gestured to you and Zephyrus, “Come, we have much to talk about and about our mutual mother; then Zephyrus can take you to that camp . Honestly, if it weren’t for mother to specifically say you were to attend camp like the other demigods, I would’ve made you stay here.”
You freezed and glanced at Zephyrus but he shrugged before gently yet firmly placing a hand against your back to lead you.
“You see, Eos has been closely identified with Hemera, the primordial goddess of Day and was conflated, so it's hard to know part of the Dawn is Eos or Hemera; so we have to make sure how much of Eos you have inherited…” Boreas stopped and turned over his shoulder, “or if you also contain some of Hemera’s essence.”
Everything fell into place and you realized what was going on and why were you here to begin with.
Boreas beamed, “Now
viens avec moi
, I wonder how much of an Aurora can you make! We’re rather high up in the north so feel free to practice your power little sibling, the auroras here are rather
breath-taking
after all.”
Chapter 33: 🌙SELENE🎑
Notes:
It’s time for the Moon Titaness herself, Selene! I thought I wouldn’t be able to expand Selene that much more since I thought I had written all I could in the ask about her before, but as I really went researching and going through passages of Selene, boy, there was definitely more stuff I learnt about Selene and now it makes more sense of her presence in Greek mythology. Hope you enjoy the bits of knowledge I put in this demigod headcanons cause I sure didn’t know half of what was in here before this!
Also enjoy the surprise characters I decided to write in the story blurb at the end. ( •̀ ω •́ )✧
Chapter Text
🌙 SELENE “TITAN OF THE MOON, NIGHT, AND RADIANCE, OF THE MONTHS AND CHILDBIRTH”🎑
- You were claimed as you were at the Campfire, singing along. It was during a supermoon, illuminating your surroundings. You were singing along and your voice became louder, clearer and brighter as the moonlight shone down on you. You were starting to feel warm and loopy, as people were getting louder and louder until you smelled fermented grapes hit your nose before you saw Mr. D appear. He gave you a calculated look and snapped his fingers, bringing a sense of calmness over anyone and everyone, including yourself was confused.
Everyone gasped when you realized everyone was staring at you, the bonfire in front of your eyes taking on a silver glow. You looked in confusion before one of your friends pointed upwards and you looked up to see a crescent moon, but pointed upwards like a U that was reminiscent of bull horns.
Chiron clopped up to you nervously, face in disbelief, as he looked at Mr. D in confirmation who then nodded, face pinched together as he really wished he had a drink with him. Then they turned to a brown-haired and blue eyed boy who almost seemingly fainted and all the Apollo demigods rushed over, yelling both “Lester!” and “Dad!” He seemed to weakly raise his arm up to give a shaky thumbs up before flopping to the ground.
That was when Chiron announced you were claimed, as the demigod child of Selene, the Titaness of the Moon, Night, and Radiance, of the Months and Childbirth. - Much like Helios’ demigod situation, you were apparently given the go-ahead to reside in the Artemis Cabin with the condition that you maintained the cabin as part of your duties and give respect to Artemis and her Huntresses when they came over, until or if there was going to have a Selene cabin.
Much like the Helios’ demigod where they were allowed to sleep in the Apollo cabin because of Apollo taking over Helios’ domain and were under his control, it was the same thing for Selene; persuaded by Apollo to his twin sister. How he knew, you weren’t sure but you did burn him and Artemis in thanks anyways. - Though if you’re a daughter of Selene, you’re offered by Artemis to join her huntresses.
- As a child of Selene, you would have her personality or embody it in some way. Not particularly ‘flashy’ and generally keeps to themselves, that are focused on their work, but their existence is there that your eyes will fall upon them.
They’re also not as demure or of a pushover as people think because when push comes to shove, much like Selene continuing to drive her chariot across the sky during the Titanomachy, or even during the fight against Typhon, she kept on her course against him (thus the moon craters). - One day, Mr. D sat you down and began to teach you about madness as you learn that, particularly the Romans, believe that a full moon rendered people insane (hence lunacy), and Dionysus often accompanied Selene across the night sky, inducing lunacy/madness on nights of the full moon.
He does tell you he doesn’t do it anymore, more so because he’s been stuck at Camp, and that you might have the power to do it; but to be better safe than sorry, if you have any sign of the power of madness, it’ll be a personal one on one teaching. - If you do ever have the power to induce madness, it probably will show up on a full moon and/or ever is possible to be used during the full moon. This is what probably happened on the night you were claimed and you swallowed nervously, feeling coldness take over your nerves.
- Selene having a connection with witches, also applies to the demigod with Selene where it was believed that the witches brought down Selene with spells and invocations of magic to cause Lunar Eclipses (hence probably when Selene comes down to earth and mingles with Mortals). Hence the child of Selene having talents in magic as well as being particularly close with the Hecate cabin and children.
- On the other hand, whenever there is a blood moon, it's up to you as a child of Selene to track down and defeat the (Thessalian) witches who bring the red moon as they draw the goddess down from the sky in order to extract her blood. Though oftentimes, you encounter Medea and/or Circe mostly at these times, as they often intervene in their godly father (Helios) and aunt (Selene) and it's a never ending fight against them.
- Although Eos has also been said to have a connection with Dewdrops with her tears, Selene could also be considered a goddess of Dew as they believed the moon nourished the plants and animals with dew.
There’s also been some other notable similarities and crossing from Eos to Selene as the moon titaness has also been described with Rosy fingers where her light spreads over the sea and “flowery fields; the dew is shed in beauty, and roses bloom and tender chervil and flowery melilot." (Theoi, Selene; Selene The Moon Goddess of Dew).
So I’m also guessing a child of Selene does have minor powers of plants as well as healing capabilities but in the form of dew drops; whether shed by them, or concentrating water to heal them. - Much like Helios (and his demigod) you have the ability of foresight/clairvoyance to a degree. You can see things underneath the darkness and moon, as well as scrying with the moon. It does require you looking into a pool or body of water, and catching a glimpse of the moon within it, but you are still able to see through the future or uncover hidden secrets.
- You do have minor light powers but its mostly a glow, as well as powers of darkness and shadows.
- I’m just imagining when the Nemean lion reappears again, that just being one of the monsters that can be close with the demigod of Selene; mostly because the Nemean lion is a child of Selene, so one can only imagine how that meeting will be.
- Much like a child of Hecate having a connection and their power with the moon, a child of Selene is much the same if not more. The waxing and waning of the moon's influence their power and even their emotions. When a child of Selene acquires a moonstone, it helps stabilize their power and being.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎
The pressure in this singular room was immense and while you were sure you weren’t in trouble, there was that tiny nugget of a feeling that you were. It didn’t help the room Mr. D summoned you in very much resembled an office, and for once, he did look serious (well serious given his usual attitude), but imagine your surprise when you saw who was by his sides, there was Artemis, the goddess of the Moon, the Wild and Hunt, and Hecate, the Goddess of Magic, Moon, and Crossroads.
So yeah it was kind of intimidating. Especially since everything to flip over when you were claimed as a child of Selene.
“Am I…in trouble?” you meekly asked.
“Well why do you think you are?” questioned Mr. D with a raised eyebrow.
“I…I feel like that’s a trick question” you said.
“Dionysus, please be serious,” said Artemis, who rolled her eyes.
“Oh come on, I’m stuck in this horrid camp. Let me have some fun with the kids!”
“While I do enjoy playing with my own students from time to time, this does seem rather serious for the demigod of Selene” Hecate spoke up.
“Alright, alright” groaned Mr. D. He took a swig of his diet coke and you swore you could see him transition from Mr. D to Dionysus.
“Do you remember what happened the night you were claimed?” he asked.
You flashbacked to that moment and the image of everyone acting weird and almost close to wild was something you couldn’t forget.
“Everyone seemed…off?”
Dionysus nodded. “Exactly. If it weren’t for me, you would’ve driven most of everyone at that Camp Fire mad with your power.”
“Wait, what?”
“Back in the day when Selene was still around, I used to accompany her in her chariot as we turned people mad during the full moons. Of course we don’t do that anymore, mostly because Selene has gone back to the moon and Artemis greatly disapproves about this practice-”
Artemis glared at Dionysus, “And also I’ve been stuck in this camp and nowadays, large wave of madness is frankly frowned upon and requires so much paperwork.”
“Uh-”
“Point is, the power of madness is a power of Selene, and you have inherited this ability” pointed out Mr. D.
“WHAT?!” you yelled as a pang of panic hit you. “I was turning people mad?!”
“Oh please, you weren’t that powerful. Don’t get ahead of yourself,” waved off Dionysus, “However, on that night it was a super moon that highlighted your power, which made it more dangerous for not just everyone, but also you.”
“So is that why you’ve called me here? As the God of Madness and everything?”
“Bingo. If your power continues to grow, and it will, it’ll be my duty to teach you how to harness this madness. However… given your powers seem to be connected to the moon and given the duty of the moon has been transferred to these lovely ladies” he drawled, as he gestured to Artemis and Hecate.
“I’ve always been aware of Selene’s continued existence and while she mainly remains on the moon, she has…every so often had offspring and it's my duty to keep track of them, new demigods and legacies alike. I am here because I have offered many children of Selene to hunt to harness their madness into the wild.”
“Even the boys?” you asked confused.
Artemis’s eyebrows pinched together. “There have been a few selected men I have given permission to accompany me during the hunt; as you may be aware of Orion. However, the Rules that are applied to them are different and my blessings aren’t as vast as my girls, however, given they were children of Selene, they were a slight exception.”
“So…wait, you’re here to make me join the hunt?”
“It is a choice I am giving you per my duty” clarified Artemis.
“Then what about you…Lady Hecate? Why are you here?” you asked nervously, the pressure getting to you.
Hecate beamed, “Because the moon is also within my domain, and you might have heard about my school, I am here to invite you to my school if you wish to join as one of my apprentices to learn the art of Magic! You’ll learn how to harness the power of the moon, madness, among other things; the possibilities are endless!”
“Oh..I was not aware…the school was open” you tried to say politely, as you weren’t aware Hecate had a magic school.
“Oh, we recently were talking about reopening it and we’re gladly taking students early! Here, have this lovely brochure” she said and flipped her hand, a small leaflet between her fingers that was extended towards you.
You politely accepted it and you couldn’t help looking through a few pages. Whether for further politeness or curiousity.
Everything seemed to sink as you realized you had a choice to make. You nervously looked up and you could feel the eyes of all three gods looking at you.
“So young demigod, what is your choice?”
Chapter 34: 🌠ASTERIA🌟
Notes:
Okay, being honest here, the Selene Demigod h/cs was going to be the last one out of this Celestial Wave, but I recently was going through the activity and saw people liking the Asteria Demigod H/Cs Ask and remembered that technically, Asteria is technically a Celestial?
Anyways, the same formula here like the Helios and Selene demigod hcs ask, if you’ve read the Asteria ask, you may see some repeats but there are also some new stuff I written in with further research and planning, and may be some edits. Hope you enjoyed reading this and have a nice day!
Chapter Text
Ω PJO MISC. DEMIGOD HEADCANONS: 🌠 ASTERIA “TITAN OF SHOOTING STARS, NIGHT-TIME, AND DIVINATION, DELOS” 🌟 {Wave 6.0.}
- When you get claimed, it was at night when everyone was gathered under the stars with the campfire roaring as usual. It started off and was going like it was every night, with singing, toasting marshmallows, amongst other things until somewhere along the way you began to stargaze. There was a shooting star and many people began to instinctively wish upon the star, and you did the same, your mind hoping you get claimed soon.
That was when everyone gasped and everyone looked at your claim, a shooting star, and Chiron called out that you were claimed as the Child of Asteria, Titan goddess of Shooting Stars, Night Time, Divination, and who became the Island of Delos. - You’re literally a once in a million occurrence; mostly due to the fact that Asteria is basically an island goddess so there’s very few occurrences she’s going to wander like the other gods. That said, you are probably the only child that Asteria has given birth aside from her divine daughter, you might have heard of her, Hecate the goddess of Witchcraft, spells, the moon, the night, and crossroads. You know, her.
- You’re treated like both a child of Hecate primarily, given how much of Asteria’s realms relates to Hecate.
- That said, you’re still going to be hunted by monsters because of the whole curse of Lamia and every demigod is going to be hunted by monsters because of Hera (and Zeus).
However, because you are also technically Hecate’s (half) sister, and you are technically Lamia’s aunt/uncle, you are at the least not going to be targeted/hunted actively by Lamia, and the Empousai. Though it’s not total immunity because if you target Lamia or any Empousai, it's a free game. - In terms of skills, being a child of Asteria grants you the ability of divination with nighttime elements; such as astrology or by dreams. You’re taking the words “It’s written in the Stars” a bit too literally.
You also know how sometimes people have prophetic dreams? You’re going to have those a lot. Like…a lot. - That said, you do not have prophetic tendencies where you randomly get glimpses of the future when you’re conscious, like the children of Apollo. If anything, it’ll only be when you’re asleep; adding to the whole bane of demigod dreams.
- I feel like because Asteria only had one child until you, Hecate may have the same presence as she does with her kids. Even if you are a demigod, it is rather intriguing and unusual for Hecate since she has never had a sibling before. You may have some magic abilities which you are more than welcome to the Hecate cabin to perfect your craft.
- That said, if you’re around when Hecate reopens her school of magic, she’s immediately sending you a letter or you receive an in-person invitation (either by Hecate herself or one of her children, staff members) to the school. You do have the potential for magic and being the half-sibling of Hecate, who probably only had sisters in magic and not physically, she’s very eager for you to join.
- And because you are technically related to Leto, who is your aunt, therefore also related to Artemis and Apollo as your cousins, there may be some familiarity there. If you’re a girl, Artemis would definitely offer you a position with her huntresses and you would do wonderfully in her domain. You would also be approached by Zoe Nightshade, who is part of the stars and would guide your bow and arrow so you may shoot your arrow as if it's like Asteria’s shooting stars.
If you’re not that interested in joining her huntresses, you would still be under her protection as Artemis is the patron of young children, especially girls. Paired that with being the daughter of the goddess and island that helped their mother and their birth, you’re further under her protection. - If you do join Artemis’ huntresses, you definitely thrive under Artemis’ blessing and care. You also get to talk to Artemis about Zoe, who is all but there. Adding to the blessing of Artemis, your powers are definitely stronger and you strive during nightly hunts.
- Regardless if you’re a girl or boy, though, Apollo would be your patron god or a favoured god because you’re the child of Asteria, who became the island that would be Delos, who would eventually become his sacred island, and allowed his mother to give birth to him and his sister.
You’re also his baby cousin, as well which tops it all off. Apollo is going to help you coach you through prophetic/divination, teach you haikus, and how to shoot arrows like they’re shooting stars. - I can see being a child of Asteria, you already are learning about astronomy and astrology, or will be, which greatly aids in a lot of divination as well as preparing for other things.
- As the demigod of the goddess of night time, I’d imagine you have incredible minor powers of Nyx, or being similar to the powers of a demigod of Hades; where you are able to control the shadows and darkness. This includes being able to use the darkness as camouflage, travel, or create bolts of darkness. I feel like you are a little or just as equal to a demigod of Hades in terms of power level, yet feel closer to Nyx.
- I also feel like as a demigod of the goddess of shooting stars, you have a minor power of light that you can summon one giant ball of light to shoot at monsters or send many tendrils of light like bullets. Generally, you can use your light powers to illuminate yourself in the darkness.
- There is a bit in the Nonnus, Dionysiaca, where Poseidon also chased Asteria in a manner of passion (cough) which explains why Delos (Asteria) kept moving in the sea, so I feel like as a child of Asteria, you have a fear of the sea and storms as consequence of Asteria being chased not only by Zeus and Poseidon.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺
“Wait, can we back up for a moment and go back to you being my half-sister?” you stammered out, your brain barely able to process that Hecate had appeared, introducing herself as the goddess as well as adding you’re both related by your godly mother, she was here to invite you to her Magic school, but then your brain caught back on being related to a goddess who was right in front of you and was taking measurements-
“Yes, yes, as I’ve said we’re related by our mother Asteria and while mother likes to spend her time as Delos ever since Zeus and Poseidon started pursuing her,” Hecate rolled her eyes at their names “,imagine my surprise at your existence! I’ve always wondered what it was like to have a sibling and while I have had sisters with other witches, this is quite the first time having a sibling that is actually related to me! Now hold still while I get your measurements, Eudora dear have you gotten their measurements?”
“Yes, ma’am! And I’ve also compiled some nice tailors who are willing to work with us on the designs” said Eudora the nereid as her arms were full of papers, clipboards, and little booklets of various images.
“Excellent! Oh how I do miss you having around Eudora, and Hecuba and Gale have been extremely happy to have you again too!”
You heard and saw Hecate’s pet hellhound and polecat (who you were still wrapping around were once real human beings before Hecate turned them into said-animals) barked, chirped and farted in response.
“Wait, what designs ?What measurements?!” you stammered.
“For my magic school of course!” said Hecate, “You do have the gift for magic, much like I do of course, so being siblings from our mother, it’s only obvious that you’ll be joining my magic school! And you’ll be one of the first students enrolling for its re-opening!”
She hummed as the measurement in her hands was stretched between her fingers.
“Reopening?”
“Yes, it was closed down back in 1914 due to…differences but after some consideration and discussion with a few certain demigods, I was enlightened that my school is needed once more! And I was thinking maybe I should introduce some nicely made uniforms, since that seems to be popular idea for magic schools but nothing like that certain….franchise. Horrid as I say, and I will show everyone what a true magic school is like! Though the uniforms might be too constricting at times so maybe it’ll be half casual and half-formal-” ran off Hecate before pulling off some fabrics. “Do you prefer wearing pants or skirts?”
You stammered out your preference in confusion and Hecate nodded before giving it to Eudora.
“Wait, I didn’t say I was going to join the school yet?” you tried to say politely without being smited.
“Well not yet of course. Unless you were considering Artemis’ proposal?”
Your eyes bugged out at the fact Hecate knew of Artemis’ offer when you were claimed as Asteria’s demigod. You were still thinking on it but you were still wrapping around being the child of a titaness who was also the island of Delos…oh the same island that Leto gave birth on to Artemis and Apollo himself.
“Uh, I haven’t had the chance to think yet. I’m still learning the fact I’m Asteria’s demigod, and that she was a Titaness, and is also an Island, it’s a lot you know?”
Hecate seemed to drop everything and you stiffened thinking you offended the goddess. You were starting to pray to whoever was listening and hoped you didn’t get smited on, or at least got turned into a good animal and hopefully nothing like a cockroach or something.
“Oh, that is quite true!” said Hecate before rushing over and grasping your face. “You haven’t learned about our mother enough and must have so many questions! Come, there is much to talk about!”
You were guided by Hecate to who knows where with Eudora, Hecuba, baby Nope, and Gale following close behind as you thought about Apollo and threw a prayer hoping he might be able to bail you out or at least make sure you weren't in danger.
