"Oh, is that what I think it is? My eyes can't possibly be deceiving me can they? Could it be that after all this time my dashing prince had finally returned to me once again?" A familiar voice dramatically said.
"Who are you?" Yu asked, when he had arrived back to his bedroom he had been greeted by the sight of someone standing in the middle of his bedroom with their back to him.
"You know exactly who I am Sensei! I'm the cutest bear in all of the investigation team, the lovable June's mascot, I'm the one and only Teddie!" The blond spun around in place and announced.
"Oh, it's you Teddie, what brought you here?" He was curious what brought the other boy over so suddenly.
"Don't tell me you forgot Sensei? You're breaking my poor little bear heart here!" The blond moped.
"I mean can't you remember what day it is?" He asked, "Here's a hint It's a beary special important one!"
A very important day... Could it be? Yu internally pondered.
"Our anniversary?" He suggested.
"Bzzzt! Wrong answer! Though I am excited for when that comes around!" Teddie replied. They may have only just started dating recently, but he believed it was never too early to think about these kind of things.
"Then if it's not that could it be your birthday?" Yu asked.
"Wrong again! Though I'm not exactly sure when my birthday is, they weren't exactly any calendars in the TV world," the blond admitted. There weren't even any clocks in the TV world either so time was kind of irrelevant there.
"You could always just decide when your birthday is," Yu said.
"Oooh! If I get to decide when my birthday is then I'll make it so my birthday is everyday so everyone can tell me happy birthday and give me gifts every day!" Teddie excitedly replied.
"You'll grow into an old bear beary fast then." Yu remarked.
"That means I would just be wise beyond my years! If wisdom comes with age, then I'll end up becoming a beary smart bear!"
"But could you have really forgotten what day it was and why I came over?" There was a sad expression on Teddie's face as he asked that, he couldn't keep messing around any longer.
"You came over today because today's Christmas Eve and you wanted to spend time together right?" Yu said as he ruffled the top of the other boy's head. How could he ever forget something as important as that?
"Correctamundo! And I've prepared something really special for you to celebrate!" Teddie announced.
"You have?" He had to admit he was curious what the other boy had planned.
"Uh-huh! But first you need to sit down on the couch and cover your eyes so I can get it ready for you!" Teddie told him.
"Well if you insist." He certainly wasn't going deny Teddie's request especially seeing at how serious he was about this, so he followed Teddie's instructions by sitting on the couch in his room and covering his eyes with both his hands.
"I wanted to make this Christmas special with you, since this is the first one where the two of us are spending it together as boyfriends and all," Teddie started to say.
"So I ended up spending a lot of time thinking about what I could do to make it special for the two of us, and I ended up deciding that I wanted to do something to surprise you because I wanted to give you as a reward for how you've been such a good boyfriend you've been to me."
"I haven't done anything all that special," Yu said. He didn’t think he had done anything out of the ordinary that was worth being praised for.
"You have though! You've been so incredibly kind to me, you are always spending so much time with me, and you give the best bear hugs out there, so that's why for Christmas I wanted to reward you and dress up for you like this," Teddie said with a flush red face.
Dress up for me? What did Teddie...?
"AH!" Yu unconsciously yelled out when he uncovered his eyes, "Teddie why are you dressed up like that?!"
Yu's face was on fire as he saw the other boy in his new outfit. Teddie had ditched his regular outfit, and was now donning a much more festive fit instead. Apparently for his surprise Teddie had decided to dress up as a reindeer, which normally wouldn't have been that shocking since he had seen Teddie dress up as a reindeer plenty of times before, but that had been when he was in his bear costume and that outfit then had been a full onesie which this outfit certainly was not.
The outfit Teddie was wearing now, consisted of a brown dress that not only had a belt wrapped around its waist to accentuate the wearers curves, but it also had a short fluffy tail sewn on the back for that extra cute factor. Beneath the dress Teddie wore black tights and he had brown boots on to complement the outfit. There was also a bright red collar wrapped around his neck that had a big shiny yellow bell attached to it, and of course to complete the ensemble and really sell the reindeer look Teddie wore a head band with reindeer antlers and ears on top of his head.
"Well isn't it obvious? It's because I knew you would like it," Teddie told him.
"Because I would like it? Why?" He couldn't deny the other boy there; he certainly did like seeing Teddie in the outfit. He looked cute in it like really cute, but he didn't understand why he'd go through all that effort just because he would like it.
"Well it's because I wanted to see your face go all red like it is now! You always seem so happy whenever I wear my Alice costume from the cross dressing pageant so I wanted to surprise you and make you happy once again by wearing something similar to that," Teddie admitted.
"Though of course this time my outfit is Christmas theme to fit the festive mood!" He clarified, "I even went all out and got help from Naoto on picking out what to wear!"
"Naoto helped you?" Yu repeated. That's right, Naoto was the one who had dressed Teddie up for the cross dressing pageant if anyone knew how to make Teddie cuter than he already was it certainly would be her.
"Yeah, we spent all day at Croco Fur shopping for the outfit together!" The blond told him," Though she must've been real exhausted from school or something because when we finished shopping and she was carrying all five bags in her hands on the way out she looked like she was going past out."
"Naoto was carrying five bags? How many bags were you carrying?" Yu asked. If Naoto was carrying five bags by herself then he couldn't imagine how many Teddie must've been carrying by himself where he felt, he needed to share the load of carrying it all with someone else.
Confused by Yu's question, Teddie tilted his head to the side and asked, "Why would I be carrying any bags?"
Ah, so that's why Naoto was exhausted not because of school, but because she was busy being your personal pack mule all day long, is what Yu naturally first thought when he heard Teddie's response. He knew he should've probably commented on it and tell him that was unfair to make Naoto carry all the stuff he bought for himself by herself, but there was a more pressing question weighing on his mind that he wanted to ask Teddie first.
"Is June's paying you that well? That's seems like an awful lot of money to spend all it once," Yu commented.
Either June's had increased their wages by a lot recently or Teddie must've been saving up a long time to buy this outfit because one bag's worth of clothes from Croco Fur was expensive enough let alone five of them.
"Well kind of... It's true I did get a raise recently for being a beary good worker with all the hours I put in, but I still fell a little short when I went to go and pay for it so I did the next best thing I could think of and I used Yosuke's credit card to pay the difference," Teddie explained.
"Does Yosuke now about this?" Yu had a feeling he already knew the answer to that question, but he decided to ask anyway.
"No, but it's okay since if it's on his card I can just write it off as a business expense!" Teddie proudly proclaimed.
"A business expense? How so?" As much as Yu thought Teddie's cute Christmas outfit was a worthy investment with how good it looked on him, he failed to see how Teddie would be able to justify this as a business expense to Yosuke.
"Well I could just tell Yosuke that buying this outfit was a necessary purchase in order to make the June's mascot even cuter than he already is!"
"I mean wouldn't you want to come to June's more often if you saw me there dressed up like this all the time?" Teddie asked as he struck a cute pose for Yu.
"Honestly, I might never leave June's if you kept dressing like this," Yu seriously replied, even if he did find it kind of hard to look Teddie in the eye's when he dressed like this. It's just he always looked so naturally cute in dresses it was unfair.
"Your direct honesty makes me blush Sensei! I knew if anyone were to appreciate my outfit it certainly would be you!" Teddie happily replied.
The newly formed blush on Teddie's face matched the red on his collar perfectly, there was no doubt about it he really did look extra adorable like this. Yu made a mental note to thank Naoto later for her outfit choice on him since she really did know how to make Teddie even cuter than he already was.
"Still I don't know what I did to deserve this," Yu admitted.
Sure, Teddie had told him he had originally dressed up for him like this because he knew he liked it and he wanted to reward him for being a good boyfriend and all and it's not like he wasn't extremely grateful for it, he was just so used to doing stuff for others that it was hard to wrap his head around that someone would want to do so much in return for him.
"You've done plenty to deserve it you're amazing Sensei!" Teddie started to explain.
"You've not only done so many things to help everyone in the investigation team, but you especially have done plenty of things for me too. You helped me find my purpose for being here, I thought I would never have a place in this world and that I would never have a good reason to exist. I thought I would spend the rest of my life roaming the TV world as a beary lonely bear, but then I met you and the rest of the investigation team and even Nana-Chan and that's when I realized I do have a purpose for being here that purpose is to make lots of happy memories with everyone."
"If I hadn't met you when you accidentally stumbled into the TV world one day I'm not sure I would've ever come to that conclusion, so that's why for Christmas I wanted to show my thanks for everything you've done for me by giving you myself," Teddie continued to say as he stood in the middle of Yu's bedroom and fiddled with the ends of his dress.
"Yourself? Why would you give me yourself?" Yu asked.
"Well isn't it obvious? It's so you know we could do what lovers do on Christmas Eve together," Teddie suggestively said.
"And what exactly do you think lovers do on Christmas Eve together?" Yu was curious what Teddie thought they did. He did happen to have quite the active imagination when it came to this stuff after all.
"Well... since I'm dressed up as a reindeer I figured you could slip into that Santa outfit you have and the two of us could spend the night with you riding me all night long."
"Huh?!" Teddie wanted HIM to be the one doing the riding?!
"Why do you look so freaked out Sensei? Don't you know how Santa travels? He rides on his reindeer all night long to deliver presents!"
Oh... He meant ride him literally. Of course he did, but wait...
"Santa doesn't ride the reindeer himself, he rides in his sleigh while he holds onto the reins of the reindeer to pull him where he needs to go," Yu corrected him. Santa wouldn't be able to carry all the presents around the word if he just rode a single reindeer everywhere.
"He does?! But I didn't bring any reins with me..." Teddie realized out loud. If he hadn't brought any reins then how was he supposed to have Yu ride him?
"Oh, wait do you think we could use a pet leash from June's instead?" Teddie asked.
Sure it wasn't a typical rein, but he was sure they could hook one onto the red collar he was wearing.
"I mean I guess we technically could," Yu conceded, "but how would you plan on even getting that?"
June's along with all the other stores were closed for the holidays right now so it's not like they could just waltz in and buy one.
"I'll just call over Yosuke right now to go get one for me!" Teddie told him.
Yosuke always carried a spare set of keys to June's on him so going inside and getting a pet leash really quick shouldn't be a problem for him.
"And what are you going tell him you need a pet leash so urgently for?" He was certain Yosuke wouldn't go rush and go get it for him on a holiday without a good reason.
"I'm going tell him you can't ride me without it!" The blond said as he went to grab his phone to call Yosuke. This was clearly a very urgent reason!
"Let's uh not do that..." Yu awkwardly said as he grabbed Teddie's hand preventing him from calling the other boy, "I'd rather do something else festive with you instead."
He did not need Yosuke to get the wrong idea about the two of them. He could already picture Yosuke's disappointed stare of judgement at him now if he let Teddie make that call.
"Well alright I guess we could do something else festive instead, like I could... I could jingle your bells! Or we could spend all night rocking around the Christmas tree together!" The blond excitedly suggested.
"Teddie, do you even know what any of those words mean?" Yu asked.
While Teddie was clearly very passionate about this topic, Yu knew Teddie wasn't fully knowledgeable about what all slang meant yet, so he was pretty sure Teddie didn't know what "rocking around the Christmas tree all night long" or "jingling someone's bells" actually entailed.
"Well not exactly, I just saw someone say those things in a Christmas movie once, but it something lovers do so it probably has to involve scoring right?"
"Well yes it's something like that, but we shouldn't do that," Yu told him.
Hurt by Yu's response, Teddie asked, "Huh, why not? Do I not look cute enough Sensei?"
He had worked really hard on his outfit and he was sure Yu really liked it too with how his face looked redder than Rudolph's bright red nose right now, so he didn't understand the hold up.
"That's not it you look very cute Teddie," Yu assured him. Teddie looked really cute. He looked cuter than any other girl or boy in Inaba right now Yu could acknowledge that fact.
"But you should only do that with someone important to you and that you trust a lot." Things like this shouldn't be taken lightly, it shouldn't be done on a whim especially when Yu was pretty sure Teddie wasn't fully aware of what he was actually suggesting.
"But you are important to me Sensei! You're one of the most important people to me so I can't think of else of who I'd want to do it with," Teddie said as he grabbed onto Yu's shirt and looked at him with a pleading look in those big sparkling blue eyes of his.
Seeing the other boy up close like this almost made Yu give in. I mean Teddie did look really cute, super adorable even, and he was his boyfriend after all so if he was going to do it with anyone it would be him so what would be the harm in indulging in his curiosity? If you think about it this really would just be the two of them taking the next step in their relationship together, so technically there was no problem with it especially if they were both into it.
Yeah, if anything he should just go for it. I mean what was truly stopping them from finally bearing it all to each other right here and right now?
Okay, nope what the hell was he even thinking? It would be one thing if Teddie knew what he was actually asking for, but since Yu was pretty sure that Teddie still didn't know what scoring fully entailed yet it would be best for him not to tempt fate on this one. He should just make up an excuse to get out of it.
"And you are important to me too Teddie, but we should wait till the right time to do it. Right now it's a little too sudden for me."
"Besides think about it if we stayed up night scoring then Santa might not come because we're both awake and then he wouldn't bring anyone presents," Yu pointed out.
"Really Santa wouldn't come and no one would get any presents?! That would be bad!" Teddie worriedly replied.
He hadn't realized that staying up to score would have that grave of a consequence, it seemed that at least for tonight for the sake of Christmas he was going have to hold himself back.
"But still I know you said that we can't stay up all night long because Santa's coming and it'll interfere with his gift deliveries if we stay up, but coming over here and not giving you something doesn't feel right. I mean as your boyfriend there's got to be something I could... Ah ha!" It seemed like an idea had suddenly struck the blond.
"Did you think of something?" Yu asked.
"Yep, I got an absolutely beartastic idea! Close your eyes Sensei and absolutely no peeking till I'm ready for you to open them!" Teddie told him.
Humoring his boyfriend's idea, Yu replied "Alright then," as he complied with the other boy's sudden demand and closed his eyes his shut.
Yu felt a familiar tug of his shirt, he recognized this motion it was a sign that Teddie wanted him to lean down closer to him. While leaning down to oblige the other boy's request, Teddie stood up on his tip toes as well so he could not only meet Yu halfway, but he had also done it so he had been able to lean in and kiss Yu as well.
Teddie pressed a gentle kiss to Yu's lips before he pulled away and responded with a happy smile on his face, "Merry Christmas Eve Sensei! Did you like your present?"
It seemed that no matter how times Teddie got the opportunity to kiss Yu he never got any less excited after it.
"Yeah, it was a pretty good one," Yu smiled back and responded. He wouldn't lie getting a kiss from his adorable boyfriend wasn't a bad way to end his Christmas Eve.
