Chapter Text
Cherie had been waiting for this day for years, it seems like just yesterday he had met Crush back in high school and was dreaming of a bright future in college with his lover boy. Unfortunately, that sweet dream never happened, but he can’t really complain since it all worked out in the end. He and Crush were engaged now, the past didn’t matter even if it was something Cherie didn’t like to think about. He had Crush, they were in love.
Everything should be okay right??
Wrong.
Cherie would be lying if he said he wasn’t nervous as shit to get married. When Crush proposed his immediate answer was yes, it was his dream to get married and spend the rest of his life with Crush! But it hadn’t really hit him during all the preparations and invitations that it’s his wedding… he’s the one getting married, and it’s to Crush? The man he’s loved his entire fucking life?
Now it did, it was only hours before the wedding.
He looked into the mirror of his white suit with flowers, Crush said he looked beautiful in it, Bamae and Yao had helped him pick it out.
“I don’t feel ready, what if I make a fool of myself Infront of Crush?” Cherie blurts out, looking over to Yao who’s fixing up his outfit and hair while giggling with Bamae.
“You look so beautiful. You’re gonna make Crush faint when you walk down the aisle,” Bamae snickered.
“I bet he’s gonna get a boner-!” Yao adds, as they both cackle.
“You guys aren’t helping you know? What if I trip while walking… most of the syndicate members are here so like… it’s awkward!” Cherie sighs, rolling his eyes. He was used to their jokes. He had a fear of something going wrong tomorrow, it was his wedding after all. Cherie felt he had some type of bad luck. He didn’t want anything to go wrong with Crush at all since he loved him. He wanted nothing more than to be his husband… but that’s also why he was so nervous.
But Yao and Bamaes cackles were still being heard. “I doubt that would happen. Although it would be so funny,” Bamae smiled as he nudged Cherie.
Yao pulled out a curling iron. She was big on fashion and looking good anyways and was determined to make Cherie look great on his wedding day. “Can I curl your hair? You would look even cuter!!”
Cherie sighed at her and nods. “Yeah you can go ahead, just don’t burn my head off,”
In a couple of moments Cherie had a head full of beach waves, flowers, and bows. Yao was getting really excited. Cherie didn’t even plan on getting this ready for his wedding, it was Yao who was the creative one, and she went all out.
“Wow Yao, you make him look soooo adorable!” Bamae gushed.
“Do you wanna wear the cherry earrings? It would be cute,” Yao pulls a strand of Cherie’s hair behind his ear. “It would match well, given your bouquet is red”
“Are you sure? Doesn’t it look childish and immature?” Cherie wondered, since Crush did make him these earrings would it be significant for him to wear it? His suit had no piece of red on it. So it would stand out.
“It’ll be cute as hell” Bamae smiled as he pulled out the earrings. “Cmon Cherie! You’re getting married! It’s literally your wedding day stop being depressed and have some fun: wear the earrings.”
And with that the earrings were on Cherie’s ears. They indeed stood out, with his all white suit and pretty flowers in hair. It would be soon he would be walking down the aisle to Crush… everyone sitting in seats. He was so nervous but he couldn’t wait to have Crush as his husband… he didn’t think anything would be different after marriage but who knows? Maybe they’ll adopt a cat? Maybe a kid? Who knows what the future for them holds…
While Bamae and Yao gushed over how gorgeous he looked, Cherie thought about his sister. How he wished she was here to see him get married… it would make her so proud.
“What’s wrong?” Yao pulled a strand of Cherie’s peachy curled hair behind his ear. “You look worried,”
“It’s nothing, just thinking about Crush. How much longer ‘till its time?”
Bamae looked at his watch, “Under 45 minutes, ceremony has probably already started and Crush is waiting!”
“Fuck!” Cherie looks at his face again, now was NOT the time to be reminiscing about the past, he was about to get married to Crush! He couldn’t fuck this up now!
Time goes fast when nerves are hitting you, something that felt so unreal for the longest time became real for Cherie, those 45 minutes passed by faster than he was comfortable with. But with encouraging words for Yao he was able to push past it.
As he opened the door and walked down the aisle it felt surreal, Crush stood there smiling at him, his eyes gentle. In Crush’s mind, Cherie was always perfect. But on their wedding Crush thought Cherie was more beautiful than anything he’s ever laid eyes on himself. It made Crush happier that he was wearing the earrings, it was a cute touch.
Cherie walked with his bouquet in hand, red rose flowers matching his cherry red earrings. All eyes on him it made him nervous but looking at Crush made him feel at ease. It always did.
“You look so beautiful,” Crush’s voice trembled, almost as if he was gonna shed tears seeing Cherie. He took Cherie’s hand and pull him in, so he was at his side.
“It was all Yao. She went all out,” Cherie took Crush’s hand all while a hue of red formed on his face, a compliment from Crush always made him feel giddy.
As vows were said and the ring was placed on his finger. Most of his worries washed away, when he kissed his now husband’s lips. Cherie felt something wet on Crush’s cheeks, it was adorable.
Cherie pulled away laughing at Crush. “Are you seriously crying? Your so dramatic c’mon!”
“Are you making fun of me?” he sniffled, avoiding Cherie’s gaze.
“Why? I can’t make fun of my husband?”
The word “husband” made butterflies flow through Crush. He felt as if only they mattered now and no one could separate them.
They were married.
