eddie didn’t change, but there’s… something. something steve can smell thrumming through his very alive, probably very human veins. something that smells like family, smells like home, smells like rot and rust, mildew and bats that can only be found in a different dimension.
and steve… he craves it. no one else, just eddie and his perfect blood that has traces of steve and the brother bats that they left behind when they closed a gate and won an impossible war. so when it comes time to feed, to feast on blood that smells and tastes so nostalgically sweet-
