Work Text:
So close
yet so far
8 billion people here
but none of them close
near, not close
lonely
8 billion lonely people
put together in one space
but they're not together
not really
distant, although in proximity
always distant
could be dying on the street
everyone walks past
you don't know their past
no one does
so distant
yet so close
everyone their own life
their own problems
but no ones stops and asks them
do they?
everyone walks past
without knowing their past
8 billion lonely people
all put together on this planet
all alone
