Chapter Text
Damian didn’t know why he was at this stupid place. His grandfather said it was important for the heir of the league to make appearances, but this was the kind of place they planned to shut down. His mother said he could learn the layout for when that happened, but for now it was best to play along. Where was he exactly? A slave auction. They called it different things, a rich man's home, a hook-up center, and many more, but really a slave auction was the best thing to describe it. His bodyguard, Jason Todd- who managed to find sanity after the Lazarus pit incident- just sighed. He wasn’t too fond of this either. Todd didn’t remember most of his life before his death, only a name- Bruce. Not even a last name, just that this man- Bruce- was an important person in his life that Jason wanted to find. He couldn’t find him without a full name and therefore stayed with the league- at least until they came across a Bruce with a last name that triggered Todd’s memory. For now, Todd would be Damian’s personal guard.
Damian looked on apathetically, at the different people who would be sold off. He didn’t care, people die and get hurt, it was a part of life. He couldn’t save those people, so he shouldn’t worry about them. That’s what mother and grandfather always said. Damian wasn’t interested until he saw a boy who was completely chained down with a green rock welded into his cage. Damian sat up straighter. The boy was an omega, no older than Damian. Damian was 16. Damian’s alpha side was interested in him. Grandfather seemed to notice his excitement-
“Do you like him?”
Damian knew if he wanted him, then his grandfather would spend any amount of money needed. Damian tried to relax and calm his scent. He saw the guy who seemed to be one who would get to buy the kid. He looked like a sleazeball and pervert. Not someone who that kid should go with. Damian glanced at his grandfather and nodded.
“Going Once, Going twi-”
“10 Million,” That was nearly 10 times the amount the sleazeball was gonna use to buy the kid.
“My my, The great leader finally decides to participate!” The announcer smiled. “Sold!”
“You didn’t even ask for other bids?!” The sleazeball growled.
“Would you like to take it up with Ra’s Al Ghul and his chosen Heir?” The sleazeball turned pale, turning to said man and gulping. Ra’s quirked an eyebrow with a smirk on his face, DARING the man to say anything else. The man sat down, silently. “As I was saying- Sold to the Al Ghul family.”
The kid stopped his weak struggling to look up- albeit it seemed hard for him to do so- in horror. Damian didn’t understand why someone so weak was chained like that so he asked… no demanded- Al Ghuls don’t ask- an answer.
“He has similar powers to superman,” Damian nodded. He’d heard of superman, the American and world-wide hero. “I recommend keeping some kryptonite nearby. If not, he's too strong for any normal human.”
“Wouldn’t that kill him?” Damian questioned, crossing his arms.
“No, he’s part human, believe me we tested him. A full week with the shard stuck in his shoulder. Other than being weakened greatly, he was unharmed.”
“I see,” Damian looked at the boy in the cage. “So theoretically- with enough time- it COULD kill him, but unlikely to happen soon- if at all.”
“I guess that’s true,” The underling muttered. “But we didn’t test it that long.”
“Grandfather, we should take our leave. I have to get my new…” Damian looked between his grandfather and new… well he didn’t want to use the word slave but really that was the only word to describe this kid- “Assistant… set up.” Damian turned to the underling. “Release him from the cage, surely you have a collar embedded with the rare mineral?”
“Not at the moment, but for a small fee we can make one.”
“That’s-!?”
“Fine,” Grandfather sighed, knowing how costly kryptonite can be. “How much?”
“25,000,” Grandfather nodded and transferred the extra cash into the registered account. “I’ll be back in an hour. Please, help yourselves to refreshments or one of our trial servants.” The man left and the slave glared weakly up at the two-
“F-fuck off you sick b-bastards!” The raven haired boy growled.
“For a servant, you have quite the vocabulary,” Damian replied, walking over to the boy and squatting down in front of his cage. “You could have ended up with a worse master than me, the man who was gonna buy you only had interest in fucking you. I just wanted to ensure a teenage omega wasn’t taken advantage of.”
“As if you won’t do the same thing.”
“Believe me or don’t. I don’t really care. But I can assure you I have no intention of using you in that way.”
“Whatever…” The kid muttered, looking away from his new master. Damian huffed. This kid could at least have the decency to say ‘thank you’ for saving him from that sleazeball earlier. But looking at it from the other kid’s perspective… Yeah, he could understand- if only a little bit.
John didn’t like how he ended up here. First his parents, Clark Kent and Lois Lane, finally got time off work long enough for a family vacation. So, they took a trip to Arabia. It wasn’t anything like the movies portrayed it, but it was still pretty and cool! Then, he asked to walk around a store alone, while his parents waited in line for a bus ticket. Of course, his parents weren’t sure about it. On the one hand, he was a teenage omega in a foreign country. On the other hand, he's half kryptonian and has superpowers in a country that likely has never heard of superboy before. So, his parents said yes but to be back in an hour. And that’s when he got grabbed, at least his dad would notice he was missing by now.
“SOLD!” Oh no…
