Work Text:
Today was the day, I would be meeting him.
It was my 18th birthday today. It was a cool spring day, the wind was softly blowing and I couldn't decide if I was excited or nervous. I opened my wardrobe doors and looked at the dress hanging front and center. It was the dress I would wear to meet him. It was off the shoulder and silver with a long flowing bottom. Mom said the silver would accentuate my pale skin and bluish grey eyes.
I curled my long black hair and braided half of it up and out of my face. I grabbed my flower hair pin and stuck it in the back. Then it was time. I had to put on the dress. This was the last time I would ever get dressed in my own room, sleep in my own bed, lay alone in my sheets. Although with the amount of stuffed animals I have I doubt it would be counted as sleeping alone.
I walked down the hallway to the stairs and slowly made my descent downward. The house smelt lonely today. Normally none of us ever wore scent patches around the house, mom said my future alpha wouldn’t like that, but now everyone but me had them on. I desperately wanted that scent back, the comfort it provided.
I saw my mother in the kitchen sitting at the table with my father. This was the first time in years I hadn’t made breakfast. Apparently my soon-to-be alpha wanted to make sure there would be nothing else but my scent for him.
I kissed my dad on the cheek and took my seat across from my mother.
"Good morning Ivory. Your alpha will be here in about ten minutes so make sure you are prepared, you look lovely."
"Thank you father, I'm fully prepared and can't wait to meet him." I stated with a soft smile.
Although my father was never very affectionate he always made sure to compliment me and provide me with all needed amenities.
I quickly ate my breakfast, then sat in the front room, and waited.
These were the longest minutes of my life. It felt like everything was moving at a slower pace. The world calmed itself, and as my body remained that perfect poised image of an omega, my head couldn’t stop. My head was flooded with all these thoughts.
I needed to know. I needed to know everything about my soon to be alpha. Was I his type? Did he like pale frail omegas? Or did he want something else? What if I wasn’t good enough.
As I was dropping deeper and deeper in my thoughts I was interrupted by a strong commanding knock on my door.
My dad got up from the couch and opened the door with a proud grin.
There I saw him. He was flagged by his parents on either side but it was like I couldn’t see them, all I could see was him.
And it looked like he felt the same.
The second he walked in his eyes went straight to me, completely disregarding my father.
My parents didn’t seem to mind, which was strange; my father had a big thing with respect, maybe this was normal?
In my peripheral vision I could see my parents and his mouths’ moving, but I couldn’t hear a single word. My being was consumed with this man in front of me.
My alpha.
