"Aw, hey there!" Beachcomber smiled as the famous lake monster swam toward him, head just far enough above the water that he could see her but that most humans would overlook her. "How you been, Ness?"
Nessie blew bubbles at him in response.
"Dodging the paparazzi, I feel you." He slid down into the water as the creature swam close enough for him to wade out to her. Once he was at her side, Nessie wrapped her neck around him in her version of a greeting. Beachcomber responded by scratching her back, right along her spine the way she liked.
Nessie burbled happily at him.
