It was another boring day for Rui, working at a coffee shop takes a lot more energy than he originally thought it would. 7 am he’s already leaving the house and comes home at 4 pm. Not much to even excite him at work either, other than Akito getting screamed at by customers who think he got their order wrong. But… he doesn’t see that as often since Rui usually works at the cashier… that is until someone new showed up. As Rui rested his head on the display case with a practically empty shop other than the regulars. At this time, Mizuki usually arrives for their afternoon muffin and tea, so he was about to prepare for that. As he was preparing her order in advance, he heard the door swing open. Rui’s ears perked up at the sound of the bell being rung.
“...Maybe it’s just a one time customer.”. He thought to himself. “Oh well.. Might as well do their order while I wait for mizuki’s tea to boi-”
“HELLO!!.” The customer said. Seems they were a lively one, it definitely caught Rui’s attention. Rui felt like as if he was woken up from the loud voice the customer had. Not that it was a bad thing, but he needed that wake up. Rui blinked a couple times and stared at the customer. Like he just forgot everything.
“..Uhm hello?”
Rui’s eyes lit up again as he was brought back to reality, and looked at the customer in their orange eyes.
“Earl grey tea with milk!! In a venti please!!” The customer said energetically.
Rui froze. What was a venti again???? He had no idea and just froze there with his mouth slightly open. The customer looked at him confused, wondering why he was looking at him like that.
“Are you… okay?”
“...What’s a venti again…?”
The customer’s eyes widened from shock and chuckled. This caught Akito’s attention, as he looked at the frozen rui he poked him at his neck.
“Rui. Why are you looking at the customer like that? It's not like they asked you to give them something fancy…” Akito said to Rui.
“I forgot what a venti is…” Rui muttered out.
Akito looked at Rui slightly annoyed and spoke in an agitated tone. “Are you serious?! It’s fancy for medium!! You work at a coffee shop, how the hell do you not know this?!”
“Right.. Right…uhm… anything else??” Rui said nervously as he looked at the customer who was still laughing. Rui’s cheeks were a bit red, he was still a bit embarrassed from forgetting what a venti was; he could barely speak right.
“Ha… not really.” The customer said as he smiled.
“Okay then…!! uhm, may I get your name?” Rui asked the customer again. As he looked at them, looking at them a bit more closely. The customer had blond hair that faded to peach tips, his hair was fairly neat, although it had a bit of hair strands poking out of place. His eyes were round orange like… an orange… I guess- what else do you expect me to say to describe orange that aren't rude or weird??? His clothes were comfortable and casual, but still stylish. As Rui looked at him some more, he felt a feeling of familiarity, but he couldn’t exactly lay his finger on it, but he did think the customer was really pretty.
“Tsukasa.Tsukasa Tennma. Tennma is spelt with 2 n’s.”
oh… OH. Rui froze once more again. “TSUKASA TENNMA??? THE TSUKASA??? THAT REALLY PRETTY FRICKIN ROOKIE MODEL THAT MY FRIENDS WOULDN’T SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT???? THAT TSUKASA???” Rui thought to himself. Oh my god. He just embarrassed himself in front of a celebrity.
“A…Alright… that’s… uhm… 630 yen. Your order would- WILL.- I MEAN WILL!!... will be done soon!!” Rui said as he waits for Tsukasa to give the money with a smile…a very deranged one. Poor Rui was trying his best to be nice and ended up looking creepy. Although, Tsukasa appreciated his efforts on trying to be nice.
“Here you go.” Tsukasa says and gives Rui the money into Rui’s shaking palms. As Rui snatches the money from Tsukasa, he looks at him again. Tsukasa just looks at him with a smile. Once the receipt finished printing, Rui gave the customer copy to Tsukasa, then threw the order to Akito.
“Akito!!” He said and slapped the order receipt onto his forehead.
“Are you fucking serious.” He says unamused as he peels off the order from his sweaty forehead and sighed. He then got to work with Tsukasa’s order.
“Oh… and by the way. I made Akiyama’s tea for you so you won't catch the coffee machine on fire again.” Akito says and shoves Mizuki’s tea into Rui’s hands.
“Ow OW!! You could’ve at least put a sleeve on it!! And the fire was one time alright!!” Rui complained “That hurts you know!!~”
“Womp womp.” The ginger says as he rolls his eyes and got back to work.
Rui placed Mizuki’s order onto the counter and waited for them to come and sighed. Rui definitely was tired and it was noticeable from the eye bags under his eyes. Rui lays his head down on the display stand and sighs.
“Busy day, huh?”
It was Tsukasa’s voice, what would he want from him?
"Yeah... not really. I'm just tired all the time." The purple one says all groggy.
"Seems like you don't enough sleep, huh." The blonde responds.
"Yeah... I don't..." He says back.
As Tsukasa looks at the sleepy Rui, he found it quite silly. He found Rui silly, He found Akito silly, He found the cafe silly he thought everything was silly, but not in a bad way. He would definitely be returning soon and often.
"Order for.. Tusk-ass-a???? God dammit I can't read my own fucking handwriting..." Akito grumbles as he calls for Tsukasa.
"Ah, That's mine!! Thank you." He says to Akito energetically and takes his order from Akito.
"Hey wait I forgot the sleeve on the cup-"
"It's fine!! I don't need a sleeve, but thanks for offering!!~" Tsukasa says and leaves the shop, ringing the little door bell as he left.
"Wow... what a man." Rui chuckles.
"Rui, you've barely known him for like... 15 minutes ain't no way you're crushing on him." Akito says, looking at the smushed Rui on the display case.
"You're the same for Toy-" Rui said before he was cut off by Akito covering his mouth
"SHHHHHHHHHH DON'T SAY IT OUT LOUD!!-"
"sure.. wafteva youb say bub." Rui said, trying to speak with Akito's hand still on his mouth.
"Ewwww.. you got your saliva on me." Akito says as he removes his hand from Rui's mouth and shakes his hand.
"That's what you get for covering my mouth." Rui said
That rest of the day, Rui never felt better for some odd reason. Even Mizuki noticed when they finally came, they knew he was in a good mood, which wasn't often. But it was quite refreshing to hear "Hey Mizuki!! I got your order!!" rather than "I don't wanna be here anymoreeeee.". Maybe it was from meeting Tsukasa, or not. Even if it was or was not, he was definitely hoping to see more of Tsukasa.
