Chapter Text

Tim was 14 when the media started talking about his looks. It mostly died down a couple of months later, but Tim would never forget how it felt. All eyes were on him, and everyone knew him.

He will never forget how good it felt.

Tim is 17 now. The media started talking about him again. It started again when Gotham Gazette mentioned how dashing he looked at the latest gala. It escalated from there.

To the point where he got offered a modelling job. He didn't have anything better to do, so he accepted it.

He was debating telling his family, but he eventually decided against it. Just thinking about what they'd say about him made his stomach turn.

Though he knew that they would find out eventually.

"Hey Tim, where are you going?" Dick asked curiosity. "Out to skate," Tim lied.

Today was the day of the photo shoot, and he did not want anybody to know where he was going.

"Can I com -" Dick said before getting cut off by Tim, shutting the door in his face. OK, he did feel kinda bad about that, but he couldn't afford anyone asking questions.

A couple of minutes later, he arrived at the shoot. He immediately ushered to his changing room.

Tim was slightly surprised at how busy it was, but he did not know what he expected.

He sat down and got his makeup done. "So...what's your name?" Tim asked awkwardly to the woman doing his makeup. "Sophia, turn your head away from me please," the woman responded. Tim turned his head, feeling the brush work on his face. "Aaand done," Sophia chirped. "Now come, we still have to do your clothes."

Tim promptly put on his clothes. As the stylists were fixing up his clothes, he could not help but think about how tight-fitting the clothes felt.

At last, it was time to start the soot. Tim didn't really like how some of the people were looking at him, but it was probably all in his head, right?

He walked over, still slightly uncomfortable with the eyes following him. They had him pose in some, to be frank, uncomfortable ways. But all in all, he loved the experience ...did he wanted to model?

God, his father would be rolling in his grave. Tim Drake, his son, wanted to be a model, but then he had done a lot of things his father would disagree with.

Tim thought for a second. In his head, he had already decided, he still needed to think about it, although. If he was going to do this, then he needed to tell his family about it.

"Hey sweet cheeks," the voice snapped Tim out of his train of thought. "What?" Tim replied sharply, grimacing at what he had just heard. He looked back at the man who had the audacity to say such a thing to him.

It was his boss. "I could hook you up with a couple more gigs," the man continued. Tim immediately dismissed the man, saying, "He couldn't possibly inconvenience him like that." He quickly left after that.

It had been about a week since the photo shoot, and seeing the magazine lying on the table in front of him made his heart drop.

The cover of the magazine showed Tim with a bright smile. Tim looked up from the magazine to see Bruce raising his eyebrows at Tim. "Care to explain?". "No," Tim answered honestly.

"Tim," Bruce sighed, "It is fine if this," he gestured to the magazine, "is what you want to do."

Tim was relieved. It felt like 10 pounds had been lifted off his shoulders. The relief quickly fled his body when he realized that if Bruce knew, then his brothers knew too.

With this realization, he had 2 options. he could run away and never return, or he could face it head-on. He was not going to lie. The running away was looking pretty good right now, but he knew he had to do the latter.

Before he addressed his brothers, he just wanted to make sure that his brothers actually knew what he was doing.

"Does... Does the rest of the family know?" Tim asked nervously. "I'm not sure, but you were on the news today, so it is most likely that they saw you." Bruce's response was nerve-wracking, to say the least.

Tim groaned. Of course, he was on the news. What did he expect? A Wayne couldn't pull something like this and expect it to fly under that radar!

"I suggest you go talk to them." Bruce states. "Fine," Tim sighs as he gets up to go confront his brothers.

Tim stands outside of Dick's door. Telling him first just felt right.
