Chapter 1: Legendary Trio

Chapter Text

A pink-haired fire mage anxiously waited for her teammate to pick their mission for the day. Her name is Nasha Dragneel, the daughter of Lucy and Natsu Dragneel. Soon enough a figure with red hair came back holding a piece of paper. His name is Reiki Fernandez, the eldest son of Erza and Jellal Fernandez.

"We can do this one."

The mission has been relatively simple. Beat up a monster that's been terrorizing Oak Town. The pay is also good.

"If all goes well, we can finish this in under a day."

"Oak Town. huh?" Nasha turned over to the figure beside her. His navy blue hair is hidden underneath the white hoodie he's wearing. His name is Griege Fullbuster, the eldest son of Juvia and Gray Fullbuster.

"It's settled then, we're taking this job!!"

After the preparations, the group rode a train to their destination. The ride has a comfortable silence to it. Reiki is looking through the additional information about the mission that Mirajane gave them, and Nasha's falling asleep.

Greige unconsciously rhythmically tapped his fingers for his own amusement. Then, a sudden weight fell on his shoulder. It's Nasha, peacefully sleeping. Greige sighed and adjusted his position to make himself comfortable while the girl sat her head on his shoulder.

Moments later, the group arrived in Oak Town and Greige was quite familiar with the place, he picked a good inn for the group to stay in. After placing their belongings in their room, they proceeded to the city hall, to meet their client, the mayor.

"The monster attacks at night, we've noticed a pattern actually. It strikes, from 9:00 to midnight. It attacks anyone in its way and is very hungry, the town is always a mess when morning comes." The mayor explained.

"Can we have a description of this monster?" Reiki asked, and the mayor nodded.

"It's a really big hound dog with sharp teeth and two sets of horns. Please be aware that these horns shoot out magic, it has caused a quantifiable amount of damage to our town.”

“We’ve been having some trouble dealing with them for quite some time now, these beasts are smart and can teach themselves how to deal with attacks that it has previously faced, so please be careful.”

“We understand, thank you for the brief.” Reiki nodded and shook hands with the mayor before the group went back to the inn and discussed strategy as they waited for the night to fall.

Around 9:30 the group patrols the area where the monster is usually spotted. Nasha heard growling in the distance and prepared herself for an attack. She saw a pair of eyes appear in the distance. She engulfed her fists with flames and waited for the perfect opportunity to strike. The beast then leaped towards the fire mage. She quickly dodged it and launched her first attack.

"Amber Hell Burst!!!"

The beast was knocked over but immediately went back up. The beast growled and shot a sort of laser attack from its horns, which Nasha quickly dodged. She chanted another spell, but it didn't work as well as she expected.

"Rain Impact!!"

A stream of water droplets hit the beast with incredible speed.

"Greige!!"

Greige and Reiki approached the teen as the beast stood back up.

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah, but this thing won't budge at all."

"We need to be careful, remember what the mayor said, it's a creature that teaches itself how to deal with certain attacks, and who knows how many times it's been hit," Reiki said.

The beast growled and hit the group with the same laser attack from before.

"Ice-make: Wall!!"

The laser attack made an impact and dented the thick layer of ice. Reiki requiped a sword and jumped on top of the ice wall Greige made. Growling can be heard in the distance once again. Nasha looked around and saw multiple pairs of eyes staring down at them.

"There's more of them??!!"

The group tensed up and prepared for battle. A moment later, the monsters started their attacks. They fought them off. Some are weaker than others and are easy to deal with, but some are ridiculously stubborn.

Nasha took a deep breath and cast another spell "HELL WAVE!!!" A circle of fire surrounded her, and waved forward, incinerating the creatures in its path. Reiki used his sword to fight the creatures; he's doing a much better job out of all three of them so far.

After a few rounds, there are only a few of the beasts left. But everyone is already at their limit.

"I don't think I can go on for much longer." Nasha panted.

"Then, we'll just have to deal with them all at once," Reiki said. "You guys ready?"

Nasha and Greige nodded.

Reiki requiped a different sword. It's a long curved blade with a short handle. Nasha engulfed her fists with flames and the sky turned dark.

The group charged up the remaining magic power they had left.

The trio charged with all their might.

"Delirious Cresent Blade"

"Water Dance"

"Explosion Assualt"

"TRINITY ATTACK, MISTY EXPLOSION SHATTER!!"

The smoke cleared and the remaining monsters were down and no longer standing.

The sun slowly rises above.

"Well, why'd look at that." Nasha chuckled as she watched the sunrise. “Another job well done.”

At the Fairy Tail Guild

"I'm bored." A woman with short blue hair whined. “There’s nothing to do.”

"I don't care, whine someplace else, I'm reading and you're incredibly distracting." The person sitting next to her said. “It’s very early in the morning, you can't possibly be that bored.”

"But we're the only ones here." The woman added, looking at the guildhall where the familiar faces of the rambunctious kids were nowhere to be seen.

Until the guild doors opened.

"We're back!!!"

Nasha, Greige, and Reiki arrived at the guild.

A bluenette chewed her gum as she looked down at the scene from the guild's second floor and smiled. “HaHa!! Finally!!”

"I'll go down and greet Nasha and the others." She smiled at the person next to her.

"Yeah, go ahead." He nodded, his attention locked on the book he was reading.

The bluenette happily walked downstairs to greet the pinkette who had just arrived.

"Welcome back, Nasha~." She ran towards the pinkette and gave her a hug.

"Julta-chan." Nasha smiled and hugged the bluenette.

"Finally, you're back, I have someone to talk to. My brother is no fun at all." Julta whined.

"If those two drag me to another mission again, just kill me Yajee." Greige groaned and sat in front of the bluenette who was currently reading a book.

"If Reiki wants to go, I don't think you can stop him." The bluenette named Yaje replied.

Greige sighed. "You got a point there."

Yajee Redfox and her sister are the oldest among them, often the ones who set an example for everyone. Yajee is a very social person; he participates in guild brawls all the time, but he wants to be left alone whenever he's reading a book. Greige is the only person he doesn't mind being around during his readings. Mainly because he just sits there with him, and often hums a soft tune that Yajee enjoys.

Yajee soon finished the chapter he was reading, placed the bookmark on the page he stopped on, and closed the book.

"Finished reading." Yajee heard Greige's voice, but he was behind him, this time, holding a sandwich, and a Caramade frank. Greige placed the sandwich in front of him, unwrapped the Carmade Frank, and took a big bite.

"Thanks," Yajee said, but Greige's mouth was too full to speak, so he just gave him, a thumbs up.

Yajee grabbed the sandwich and took a bite. Delicious, as expected.

Reiki sat by the bar to order himself a snack and was rather surprised to face an unusual figure behind the bar.

“Damon?” Reiki raised a brow. “Didn’t know you work at the bar now.”

Damon is the only son of Bickslow and Lisanna. He has two of his father’s totems floating right beside him, his blue hair slicked to the side and he is currently wearing a black apron as he wipes down the counter.

“Hey! I take shifts here from time to time too you know.” Damon chuckled. “So, what can I serve ya Reiki my boy!” He grinned.

“Just a ham and cheese sandwich,” Reiki responded.

“Ham and Cheese! Ham and Cheese!” The totems chanted as Damon went ahead to grab Reiki’s order.

With the sandwich served to him, Reiki proceeded to ask. “Do you know when Slyvia and the others will be back, they’ve been gone for a while now.”

“Worried about your girlfriend?” Damon’s red eyes glinted mischievously, resting his chin on the palm of his hands.

“Yes.” Reiki nodded seriously.

Damon dropped his head and the totems crashed to the ground with a thud. “It’s no fun if you take my jokes seriously.” He groaned.

“Then try joking about something else then.” Reiki chuckled, taking a bite off his sandwich.

“Caleb told me Sylvia hooked up with Lukas last night.”

“What?!” Reiki shouted.

“Now, that’s the reaction I’m looking for!!” Damon cackled. “Relax, it’s a joke! As if Slyvie would ever hook up with Lukas.”

“Rascal.”

Julta tinkered through the nuts and bolts of the vehicle. Nasha stood beside her to help.

"I didn't mean to trouble you, but you're the best mechanic I know." A middle-aged man said.

"It's fine, I have nothing else better to do anyway." Julta smiled. "Nasha, can you pass me the screwdriver."

Nasha nodded and gave her the item.

"You're Salamander's daughter, Nancy right?"

"It's Nasha, actually."

"Oh sorry, my bad." The guy apologized.

"Don't worry, I'm used to it."

"Well, I'll leave you two here, just call me if you need anything."

Julta took notice of Nasha's change of mood.

"You'll get there," Julta said.

Nasha has constantly been compared to and identified with her father. Nasha loves her father, and she loves her family, but it's just hard to live under someone's shadow.

Julta sighed. "It's never easy, given how popular our parents are, comparisons will always appear and we can’t really do anything about it, best to just ignore and you know just be you. Don't be so down about it, you don’t have to worry about these things.”

"You're so wise." Nasha smiled.

Julta laughed. "You make me feel old."

"But you are old."

"I just turned 20!! I'm not that old!!”
