YamaHina - Responsibilities
“Hey, babe” Yamaguchi asked as he tied his hair in a bun, his ring getting stuck in his hair. “Ah, shit.”
“Yeah?” Hinata asked. “What did you do?” The shorter said, turning around to see his boyfriend struggling to not rip his hair out.
“A bit of help?” The younger said and Hinata snorted, getting up on a bench to see what situation Yamaguchi managed to get himself into.
Hinata started to carefully detangle Yamguchi’s hair and smiled when the ring finally got out of his boyfriend’s hair but now those beautiful green locks were all in knots. Hinata sighed as he looked at the clock on the wall. They had a bit of time before everyone else came in for practice.
Yamaguchi’s hair now reached his shoulders and Hinata loved it when the man tired his hair in a bun at the back. He also loved playing with his boyfriend’s hai. Natsu also loved playing in Yamaguchi’s hair so it was a win for all people involved.
“I think I should cut it.” Yamguchi said as Hinata made him sit on the ground, in between the shorter’s legs. Hinata was sat on the bench, trying to fix Yaamguchi’s hair with a comb he always keeps on him.
“What? No.” Hinata said almost immediately. Yamaguchi sighed.
“My ring keeps getting tangled in it though.” He said and Hinata pouted. These were the rings Hinata got for them at the end of their second year when they found out Yamaguchi would be captain and he’d be vice-captain. Hinata rested his elbows on the taller’s shoulders.
“I don’t think you should cut it. It makes you look hot.” Hinata said honestly and Yamguchi turned to him with a smirk evident on his face.
“Yeah?” The captain said as he got closer to Hinata’s face. The shorter nodded as he placed his hands around Yamaguchi’s neck, who was still on the ground.
“Yup.” Hinata smiled as Yamaguchi leaned in for a kiss.
“I’m glad then.” Hinata laughed when Yamaguchi grabbed his hands and kissed the inside of his wrist.
“You’re a dork.” Yamaguchi shrugged and continued leaving loving kisses.
“As for the ring-” Hinata looked up to give Yamaguchi access to his neck as the man started to leave small kisses there as well.
“Hmm?”
“We can make them necklaces?” Hinata said, hoping it was a good idea. Yamaguchi stopped and smiled at Hinata.
“Great idea, babe.” Yamaguchi went to kiss him again.
“Oh, god, no. That’s gross.” Tsukishima entered and said as he saw his captains being all over each other. “I’m not watching that. I think I need bleach. God.” Tsukishima gagged as he left and Hinata heard the blonde mutter something along the lines of “You deal with them.”
Kageyama entered as nonchalantly as he could but when he saw the two, his nose twitched.
“The rest are here so maybe stick your tongue down each other’s throats another time.” Their setter said as he left, leaving Hinata a blushing mess and Yamaguchi snorted at his friend’s antics.
“Tobio, I’ll kill you!” Hinata shouted as he threw a random club shirt at their setter.
“C’mon, Sho. You need the guy for quicks.” Yamaguchi said as he stood up and offered a hand to his partner. Hinata grumbled.
“After high school, I will actually kill him.”
“I won’t stop you.”
“I heard that!” Kageyama said and Hinata rushed out of the locker room.
“Good!” The shortest third year said.
“Alright!” Yamauchi said as he looked at their members. He remembers how Daichi used to do this with them, or howEnnoshita used to make them help the first years.
“Today we’re doing a practice game, ok?” With a chorus of ‘hai’, Yamaguchi smiled and crossed his arms. Hinata jumped in to take over.
“We’ll be doing third years versus second and first years.” Hinata announced and cringed when he suddenly had two first years attached to him. Teshiro and Haruto. One wanted to be a spiker but he couldn’t watch the ball closely to save his life while the other wanted to be a libero.
“But Hinata-senpaiii” The two first years whined and Yamguchi had a flash of Noya and Tanaka as he watched them. The captain smiled.
“We know it’s not exactly fair-” Yamaguchi started.
“Not fair?! We can’t defend against Hinata-san and Kageyama-san’s quick!” A second-year said as he pointed at Kageyama. Kageyama scoffed.
“Look, for you to be able to play without us next year-” The blonde started and watched as everyone on the team flinched. Yeah, leaving will be hard on all of them. “You need to be able to hold your own against anything. What if another Hinata and Kageyama from other teams appear? What if, with this practice, you’ll be able to have your own special moves?”
“Oh wow, is someone being soft?” Kageyama teased and Tsukishima showed him the middle finger.
Yamaguchi clapped and everyone went silent. “Kei’s right. For you to be able to hold your own, you need to be prepared for everything. Understood?” Everyone nodded.
“And, who knows? Maybe your senpai will treat you after if you guys play well.” Hinata added as Yamguchi smiled and the other two third years groaned. Leave it to Shoyo to get the best senpai role.
“You go too easy on them, babe.” Yamaguchi said as Hinata was proudly looking at their team. Hinata looked at him and leaned his weight on Yamaguchi.
“They deserve it, Tadashi.”
Yamaguchi looked at how Teshiro was high fiving a second year, or how Kageyma was giving pointers to Haruto while Tsukishima tried making the teams with another second year.
“We did a good job, huh?”
“You’re the captain. Of course we did.”
“OI! Lovebirds! Team’s are done!” Tsukishima shouted at them as the couple laughed, jogging to join everyone.
“Hinata-senpai!” Haruto jumped, not scaring Hinata but scaring Yamaguchi. It was like reliving their first year all over again. Hinata smiled as he opened his arms to catch the first year and smiled as the kid laughed.
“We played well, right?!” Hinata laughed and Yamaguchi thought it was the cutest thing in the world. The captain smiled as he grabbed his bag and then Hinata’s.
“You did great, pipsqueak! I’m so glad you could learn something!” The third year said as he set Haruto down and ruffled his hair. Haruto preened under Hinata’s praise, a very evident blush from embarrassment present. Yamaguchi snorted, Hinata would get a fan club everywhere he went. Not that he was worried or jealous, Hinata chose him, after all.
“Now, as promised!” Hinata shouted, gaining everyone’s attention.
“Meat buns! My treat!” Everyone cheered as they rushed through the door. Yamaguchi let everyone rush out as all of the third year remained behind.
“Do you always have to spoil them?” Kageyama said. Hinata looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “And you don’t?” Tsukishima laughed and pat Yamaguchi on the back.
“At least they have someone who spoils them.” The blonde said teasingly and Yamaguchi turned to glare at him.
“What do you mean?” Hinata snickered behind his palm and looked at Yamaguchi, waiting for Tsukishima to elaborate.
“Everyone’s shit scared of you,” Kageyama said instead and Hinata burst out laughing.
“Hey!” Yamaguchi said offended. “They’re not!” Hinata grabbed Yamguchi’s arm and pulled him down to kiss his cheek.
“Ew.”
“Don’t ever do that again.”
“Oh, shut up. As if you guys would be any better.” And with that, they shut up. Hinata smirked.
“Anyway, babe, your captain mode can be a bit-”
“Terrfying?” Kgeyama said, not having a filter.
“I was gonna say intense, but okay.” Yamauchi pouted as he started leaving the gym. He threw the keys to Kageyama to lock up so that they could go ahead to not lose their team. Tsukishima decided to stay with their setter, with the excuse of not wanting to hear them be gross.
Hinata rolled his eyes, he knew the teasing was done lovingly but goddamn, Tsukisima was a major tsundere.
“Am I really that scary?” Yamaguchi asked his boyfriend. Hinata sighed but smiled up at him.
“You’re not scary off court, babe. It’s just, with you being captain, no one wants to let you down?” The ginger explained and Yamaguchi groaned, grabbing Hinata’s hand to hold it in his pocket.
“But they go to you so easily!”
“Uh- I’m more approachable. I guess?” Yamaguchi frowned and suddenly, an idea came into his head.
“I’ll buy them meat buns today! And show how good of a senpai I am!”
“Tadashi, you’re a great senpai-”
“Let’s go!”
“Tadashi!”
