Work Text:
You sit in your bed, wrapped up in as many blankets you could find. But yet…
“Bedo…” You whine. “I’m cold…”
He looks at you, rather surprised. “Really? With all of those blankets?”
You nod.
“And what are you wearing?” He asks.
“...my pajamas…” You reply sheepishly. Your pajamas aren’t really pajamas at all, just some shorts and a random shirt.
“y/n… it’s almost lunchtime. You need to get dressed.” Albedo scolds, his tone stern.
“But I-”
He cuts you off. “Not buts. I’ve got to go pick up Klee. You better be dressed by the time I get back, got it?”
You pause for a moment. “...alright…” You sigh as you release yourself from your blanket cocoon, and quickly get up as you feel the ‘cold’ air hit you.
You rush to get ready, putting on some warm pants and a long sleeved shirt. You decide that you may as well be productive since you’re up, so you start making mac and cheese to eat for lunch. You make more than usual, planning to share with your boyfriend and his little sister.
You finish right as they arrive, and you shout: “Close the door! It’s freezing out there!” Of course, this isn’t actually true, as you live inside an apartment building, so the door doesn’t lead to outside, where the cold air would be coming from.
Albedo sighs as he takes off his coat, and helps Klee with hers. “You’re exaggerating.”
You roll your eyes. “Sure, whatever… I made lunch, hurry up or it’ll be cold.”
The three of you eat lunch, and as you begin doing the dishes, Albedo says: “There’s a lot of snow outside…”
Klee is the first to respond. “Yeah! It’s so cool! I wanna go out again and build a snowman!”
You sigh.
Albedo grins. “Come on, it’s not that bad. Just put a coat on, you’ll be fine-”
“I will not be fine, I will freeze to death!” You argue.
“No you won’t.” Albedo counters, “besides, it’s not like you have anything else to do.”
“I do have something to do, actually.” You lie.
Albedo rolls his eyes. “Sure, we’ll just go out without you.”
Klee and Albedo put on their coats and exit, leaving you with… nothing to do. You try to occupy yourself, but after 15 minutes of pure boredom, you sigh and get your coat out of the closet.
You trudge through the hall, down the stairs, and outside. You quickly find Albedo and Klee, who are building a snowman. You approach them, and Klee immediately tackles you.
“Big sister! Come see my snowman!” she exclaims.
You look over at Albedo, who has an I-told-you-so look on his face. You whisper into Klee’s ear, who nods excitedly.
Moments later, you’re pelting your boyfriend with snowballs, while he tries to doge. You all end up giggling in the snow, making snow angels, and building more snowmen.
You all go to bed happy that night.
The morning however, is not ideal.
You should’ve known that you’d get sick, considering your weak immune system. But yet, waking up to a cough and a sneeze, you didn’t regret the day before. You stumble out of bed, get dressed, and begin making breakfast, only to be shoved back in bed by your boyfriend, who had quickly noticed that you were sick.
Not too long later you’re being fed by Albedo, who advises you to take medicine and rest all day.
“But-”
He cuts you off. “No buts. You’re resting.”
You pout before extending your arms wide. “Oh come on ‘Bedo! You gotta at least cuddle with me!”
He sighs and does as you request.
Maybe being sick isn’t that bad after all.
