A Hole in His Heart

Summary:

Mo Xi felt as if he were always walking around with a hole in his heart.

Notes:

Prompt: Hate/Resolve

Work Text:

Mo Xi felt as if he were always walking around with a hole in his heart. (Of course there was one—that was where Gu Mang had stabbed him—no matter whether Murong Mengze healed him or not, Mo Xi knew that he would never truly heal.)

No one else could see it. They thought that Mengze had healed him completely, they thought that the two of them were in love. Mo Xi knew otherwise. How could he love again after Gu Mang?

Mo Xi had loved Gu Mang so much. He wanted to give the other man the world. But had Gu Mang ever loved Mo Xi the way Mo Xi had loved him?

…No. If he had, then Gu Mang wouldn’t have stabbed Mo Xi.

Mo Xi didn’t want to keep walking around with a hole in his heart, so he stuffed that hole full of hatred. He hated Gu Mang, and he resolved that if he saw him again, he would kill him.

(The next time he saw him, he did not.)
