Hazbin Swap Hotel [Pilot]

Summary:

Basically, the pilot but with small changes, and the characters are swapped. I know not a lot of people will see this, but I just wanted to get my AU down somewhere if I'm being honest-

The summary is bound to change someday btw. Maybe when I'm done with this

Notes:

I hope this'll be entertaining to you! I've had this AU rolling around in my head for a while, but it's still not finished yet- The designs are still a work in progress too so I'm sorry if the characters aren't described that much until I add them-

Here's the character cheat sheet for this chapter in case you need it:

Charlie has swapped with Adam
Vaggie has swapped with Lute
Angel Dust/Anthony has swapped with Molly
And Cherri Bomb and Sir Pentious have swapped with eachother

Chapter 1: Chapter 1

Chapter Text

The screen started out black, staying that way for just a moment before the scene faded into view. A brown haired man stared in a cracked mirror in the bathroom. Adam looked happy, well, as happy as one could be while his mind was running ten miles a minute. His smile cracked for just a second before it completely fell. He let out an agitated groan, running his hands through his messy hair as he turned away from the mirror. The point of view changed to follow Adam's pacing, revealing the dirty orange, mangled wings resting against his sides that couldn't have been seen from the mirror.

"This isn't going to work! I knew I shouldn't have listened to Lute! But nooo, I just had to agree with her about going to that damned interview!" He complained, hand tugging at the strands of hair in his grasp. He was stressed, to say the least. He slowly stopped to take a deep breath, closing his eyes before going to pit his hands on the rim of sink and lean forward. He let the air out of his lungs just as he reopened his eyes to look back at his reflection in the mirror, a mixture of worry and determination crossing his face.

"This could be so good for the hotel, though, Adam! Just think of all those souls running to get redeemed after you bring up the possibility of redemption for the seventh time since the opening of the hotel!" He tried to smile, just a smidge to give himself some sort of false hope that the sinners in hell would actually listen to him, though his brows were still just as furrowed as before, if not more. He couldn't keep the expression for long, sadly, just like last time. He sighed and looked down in failure, staying like that for a moment before he noticed the notes he placed on top of the tank of the toilet. He gingerly picked them up and started to reread them for the umpteenth time that day, a small grin tugging at his lips.

♪"At the end of the rainbow, there's happiness.."♪

His grin fell again before dropping the papers in the (thankfully) dry sink and turning his back to the mirror.

♪"And to find it is near impossible~"♪
♪"All my prayers go unanswered while my dreams have all been ignored.."♪
♪"Why have I always been a failure?.. What can the reason be??"♪

Adam balled his hands into fists, and the scenery suddenly faded to black to show a white silhouette of a tree slide into view, a snake hanging off of a branch with a wicked smile while holding an apple.

♪"I wonder if the snake's to blame..? I wonder if it's always been me.."♪

The tree and snake left before several angels with helmets entered the frame, deceased sinners laying in a pile just out of view in front of them. They disappeared a moment later after his voice stopped, screen fading back into view to show the state of hell.

♪"I'm.. Always chasing rainbows~"♪
♪"Watching time fly by.."♪

Slowly, Adam faded back into frame again, walking out to the hotel balcony while looking down. He slowly climbed atop the railing and looked up, slightly wincing as his scarred wings stretched out from their previous position.

♪"All my schemes are just like my dreams."♪

He crouched down a little, looking like he was about to jump.

♪"ending in the—"♪

The screen suddenly turned pitch black, showing a white silhouette of a happier man flying with a halo and golden wings.

♪"—sky!"♪

The screen slowly faded back to Adam, who appeared to have decided not to test his flying capabilities and was now just standing behind the railing, watching hell's citizens with a sad look.

♪"Some winners look and find the sunshine.. I look and find the rain~"♪

The camera panned down to get a closer look at the sinners before switching to a tower titled "R.A.M," with the A being bigger and more demanding of attention than the other letters.

♪"Some people get a win sometimes.."♪

The inside of it appeared and showed a red haired man sitting next to a woman with gray skin and pitch black eyes, both on their phones before the man excitedly wrapped an arm around the woman and snapped a selfie of the two of them. He let her go after the light flashed to check the photo, the woman happily leaning over his shoulder to see it too. The camera angle panned during it, eventually showing a shorter, much chubbier woman sitting on the other couch with her hand holding her head, not seemingly interested in the other two as she attempted to count the stack of cash in her hands with a smirk on her face.

♪"I never even make a gain, believe me."♪

Two girls appeared in the frame in a different setting, one pulling an angelic spear out of a dead sinner while the other was writing something down. The camera later panned up to show a dark skinned woman with two afro-textured space buns and a fashionable dress crossing out a name on her sign, a malicious look crossing her face after.

♪"I'm always chasing rainbows~"♪
♪"But I can never seem to find the end.."♪

The screen faded once more as the song ended.

A short demon fell from the sky and splat against the pavement, groggily pushing himself up before realizing something.

"I-I'm alive? I'm alive?!"

His eyes widened, and a scowl took its place on his face, hands on his cheeks. He was about to get up before a car suddenly ran him over and spilled his blood on the road, no doubt staining it.

Once it stopped, a four-legged spider demon stepped out of the passenger seat, fixing her headband before kicking the door shut behind her.

"Thanks for the performance, sweetcheeks!" The driver snickered, causing the girl to cringe before leaning against the open window.

"Glad you enjoyed it!" Her bright smile thinned as her eyes opened. "Listen, this better not make it out to the public, I can't have it out that I'm selling my songs to randos on the street! It was a quick cash-grab, you hear me?" She made a finger gun gesture towards the man in the vehicle. "'Cause, if it does.. You might just have a bullet in your skull before noon."

The driver rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out in disgust. "Whatever you say, slut." He put his hands back on the wheel and drove off before the lanky spider could get another word in, nearly making her fall over in the process.

"Porca puttana! At least come up with something more creative to call me, ya' dumb fuck!" She yelled out to the car that wasn't even visible anymore before rubbing her temples. "Fuck that wasn't even creative...I should get some lessons on that shit too.." She muttered before perking up at the sight of a vending machine. Dusting off her skirt, she slinked over to it and immediately pressed on "Molly" when she saw the option.

She grinned and caught the packet just as it fell, bringing it up to her shining eyes. That was before a sinner ran by and suddenly yanked it from her hands. "HEY!"

"Up yours, bitch!" He called out behind him, right before a giant piece of rubble landed on top of him, crushing him immediately. Meanwhile, Molly gasped and ran up to the scene.

"Oh no!" She spoke, worried evident in her tone. She sadly picked up the now ruined packet of drugs. Almost everything inside the packet was on the ground now. "Can't a lady have anything in this shithole!?" She groaned, rolling her eyes and tossing it dejectedly behind her. Her gaze moved up at the scene before her once she heard the explosions and lasers firing.

A woman stood behind a control panel, laughing maniacally as she pressed the various buttons. "These demons didn't know what hit 'em! No one can compare to the likes of I!" She laughed, hands flying out for the dramatics. Various sentient hot pink bombs ran around in the mechanical blimp during the chaos, looking like they were trying to look busy.

One stood behind her, the number #4 painted on it’s back. “Wow! That sure sounds amazing, boss!” It commented, hands on where it’s cheeks seemingly were. “Yeah!” Another said, right next to the control panel. Another one piped up as it climbed on top of its boss, “You really showed them what’s up! I liked it when you dropped #22 out of the ship and he exploded!” It promptly got thrown off of her after pulling on her orange hair.

The first bomb walked up to another, sighing. “I wish she’d throw me out of the ship..” It mumbled, the other blankly staring at it with a single blink before sympathetically patting the top of it.

Meanwhile, the woman looked around in thought before smiling devilishly and tapping several places on the control panel. “Good! Praise me, my minions! As at this rate,” she spoke, “ I’ll take over the entire west side of the pentagram by the end of the day! And nothing, not even a single depressed soul in this inferno will be able to stop me!” She laughed, her singular eye wide and grin growing. The mini bombs around her started cheering, already celebrating her win. “Hell will be in my grasp! And everyone will know the name of Cherri Bo—” “BORINGGG.” Cherri frowned and wildly searched the premises for the one that dared to interrupt her. Her gaze locked onto one of the bombs behind her.

”WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY, YOU OVERPRICED IMBECILES?!” She screamed angrily, leaning down to get in it’s face. “SPEAK UP!”

“Th-That wasn’t any of us, b-boss!” The one closest to her stuttered out, leaning away from the fuming woman in front of him. Cherri Bomb opened her mouth to speak, but her attention swiftly turned to the mechanical ball that crashed through her ship’s window. “What the Hell?” She said, causatiously taking a step forward to get a better look at it. The confusion was however quick lived as the ball turned and revealed the symbol of an egg. Cherri had only a moment to step back and gasp before the stink bomb—
