Cooper clicked his teeth at Dogmeat, and she stood, panting. Lucy cleared her throat again. “I don’t know if – I don’t know how much further I can go,” she said, and even without looking at her, he could tell she was bracing for a fight. He grunted in response. “There’s a town – ‘bout a mile from here. If you can make it that far, you’ll get a bath and as close to a real meal you’ll find ‘round these parts.”
