“What was that about?” Fourth asked, the moment the two of them were ushered into the green room after their successful La Glace: The Pink Era event.
Gemini definitely knew what Fourth was talking about.
The fans were going crazy over his continuous one-sided flirting on stage and even though Fourth seemed to blush and giggle at the event, he sounded annoyed now. Gemini cleared his throat before sitting down in front of the mirror while the makeup artists crowded him. He could almost feel Fourth’s leveled, narrow-eyed gaze on him; partly confused, partly angry.
Words. He has to speak. “What?”
“’Do you want to go to the bedroom with me?’ ‘He hasn’t tasted me yet’?” Fourth sputtered, incredulously, “Which ghost was controlling your body earlier on stage?”
P’Tong snorted as the rest of his crew started laughing as well. Gemini flushed a deep maroon. He wanted to sink into the cushioned seat and never resurface. He honestly didn’t know what prompted him to be so bold like that earlier. Leave the fans and Fourth, even he was surprised.
“He was definitely flirting, N’Fot” P’Tong was eager to add, sparing a wink in the younger’s direction.
If Gemini wasn’t too fixated on disappearing into nothing, he would’ve caught the flash of embarrassment that crossed Fourth’s face and the knowing looks that passed among the crew.
“Listen” Gemini said, raising his gaze to meet Fourth’s which didn’t garner Gemini’s desired results. Fourth looked really, incredibly, show-stoppingly beautiful even when he’s pissed. How was a man to form coherent words in the face of such beauty?
Fourth blinked, “I am listening…?”
Yes. Words.
“I— …” Gemini started, before clearing his throat and craning his neck to look at the safety that the mirror would provide.
He was blood red.
Fuck this mirror, honestly.
He started again, “I was just giving the fan moments”
It was the most valid response, right? Fourth wouldn’t question it. The crew will go back to removing their makeup as if nothing happened. It would be as if his boldness on stage a few minutes ago was just a memory. Except, well, social media existed. Their fans probably are going extremely feral there. He needs to swear off social media if he wants to keep his feelings in check.
“You’re…” Fourth started, and Gemini determinedly kept his gaze away from that breathtaking beauty next to him questioning his mere existence, “You’re giving moments? To fans? You?”
It wasn’t as if they didn’t give moments. Well, they were an official GMMTV couple and their chemistry should come across as powerful. But they did make a promise to each other years ago, that they wouldn’t sell their chemistry just for the views. They were best friends. The chemistry was normal between them. They were really good best friends.
Except that Gemini was irrecoverably in love with Fourth, who definitely didn’t share the same sentiments.
“Well, we have to do something right?” Gemini asked, as P’Tong moved from him to Fourth, thereby giving him a short glimpse of bare-faced Fourth.
My God, was he beautiful.
Fourth turned to face Gemini, with his bare arms crossed on his muscular chest. Gemini's eyes were practically tearing up as he fixed his forceful gaze on Fourth's face, rather than letting them wander anywhere else… perhaps, southwards.
“And you think inviting me to your bedroom publicly is a moment for the fans?” Fourth was stressing on the practically public confession he made minutes ago and Gemini flushed again.
“I mean, they were screaming” Gemini pointed out.
“Gem” Fourth sounded exasperated, as he lifted his hand to wipe his sweaty brows, “They screamed when we wrote the same thing on the whiteboard. They would scream if we even touched each other lightly. They would scream if we even looked in each other’s directions, purposely or not. They’re fans. They always scream”
Gemini bit his bottom lip—an action that didn’t escape Fourth’s watchful eyes—as he fiddled with his thumbnail, “That’s true…”
Fourth sighed before turning to the mirror once again.
“But why do you sound so agitated?” Gemini turned to face Fourth, who visibly froze in the chair, “Why are you so affected by one single sentence? It was after all…” Gemini gulped, painfully, “fan service”
“We do fan service now?” Fourth asked, his volume a tad below average.
“Aren’t we supposed to?”
“Yeah”
An uncomfortable silence stretched between them as P’Tong and the rest of the makeup artists continued their work silently. Fourth left the chair to change into his day clothes as Gemini finally breathed.
“N’Gem” P’Tong sat in the chair Fourth previously occupied and swiveled Gemini towards him, “What are you doing?”
Gemini blinked, confused, “What did I do?”
“That wasn’t fan service. We all know that”
Gemini stared at his reddened thumbnail and sighed. P’Tong had once caught Gemini at his worst and ever since, the senior had kept giving him chances to make a move, but not once did Gemini actually take any use from it. Despite being clingy and outwardly affectionate, Fourth wasn’t someone to speak of affection unless it’s a life-vs-death situation and P’Tong knew that. And despite the goofy self Gemini often possesses, P’Tong knew that the boy was actually flustered around his crush more often than usual.
And now watching his twiddling his thumbs and sighing with each passing second, P’Tong wasn’t going to take it anymore.
“You two need to have a serious conversation about your feelings”
Gemini froze, as he whipped his head around, hoping that Fourth wasn’t nearby to hear him.
“P’Tong” Gemini whispered aggressively, “Shhh”
P’Tong brushed his hair back while rolling his eyes. He stood up to collect his things as Gemini did too. He needed to change back into his street clothes.
“Nong, listen” Gemini turned to face P’Tong with his hangers, “N’Fot didn’t come in his vehicle today. Why don’t you drive him home?”
“Today?” Gemini grappled with the hangers, finding reasons to postpone this… appointment, “But today—”
“Don’t you dare!” P’Tong playfully smacked his shoulder, “You need to put effort if you want a forever after with that sweet boy of yours”
Gemini groaned, just as Fourth came out from the changing room, phone in hand. Upon P’Tong’s (completely unnecessary) provoking, Gemini poked at Fourth’s shoulder, earning him a surprised (yet so fucking cute!) look from the younger.
“Can I drop you home today?”
Fourth blinked a couple times before placing his phone on the table, “Is this a moment for the—”
Gemini was direct this time, “No”
“Oh”
Gemini was positive that he saw Fourth’s usually pink cheeks redden after that comment. He could feel his throat drying up and all he wanted to do was do the chicken dance the moment Fourth nodded and looked away. But he controlled himself, until he went to the changing room.

The moment Fourth stepped into the car, Gemini was vibrating. How was he going to approach this topic? Fourth hasn’t said a word since when Gemini offered to drive him home. And honestly, it was concerning. Fourth wasn’t someone to shut up around him. If anything, the two of them never stopped talking.
But right now, the silence was deafening.
“Wanna listen to some music?” Gemini asked, fingers hovering over the stereo.
“Sure” Fourth replied, a soft smile on his lips.
Don’t smile at me, dammit. I don’t wanna simp more than I already am now.
A soft melody embraced the both of them as they took turns singing along to the song. It was familiar and Fourth was very expressive with his gestures during the rap that Gemini had a hard time breathing because he was laughing so loud.
He was glad that the discomfort was over. He hated being uncomfortable, especially with Fourth.
“So, Gem” Fourth looked over at him, as he turned to the highway.
“Hm?”
“Were you being serious?”
Gemini scratched his head trying to recall the supposedly unserious conversation they had, yet came up with nothing.
“Huh?” he looked over at Fourth blankly.
“About taking me to your bedroom?”
If the two of them didn’t have their seatbelts on, they would probably be outside the vehicle, with the way Gemini hit the brakes.
“Oi!” Fourth yelled, looking over at Gemini in annoyance, “What the hell?”
“You tell me what the hell that was!” Gemini yelled back, “And I just got us on the highway. I can’t even stop here”
“Why did you stop, you dumbass?”
The bickering went on for minutes with each of them trading barbs and ignoring the reason for the fight completely. When they finally managed to calm down, Fourth was still staring at Gemini for an answer.
“So?”
“So what?”
Fourth had a sly grin on his face, “Do you wanna show me your bedroom?”
Gemini gulped before laughing humorlessly, “You’ve already seen my bedroom, Fot”
He has. Multiple times. And they’ve even woken up accidentally straddling each other in very compromising positions. Yet they’ve always laughed it off. Gemini pretended that it was completely normal to wake up with his lips pressed on his best friend’s nape and Fourth has acknowledged it too. But maybe that was before he got these feelings for the younger.
These feelings that would guarantee… excitement, if they were to sleep together now.
“Not like that…” Fourth whispered, as if to himself.
“Pardon?”
“Not… not recently” Fourth replied—the stuttering however, was completely unnecessary, “You said you gave your room a makeover”
Gemini bit his lips, eyes swirling all over the place. He could feel Fourth’s heavy gaze on him, yet the moment he looked over, the younger was staring outside. They really needed to have a serious conversation.
Fourth needed time. He needed guts.
Perhaps it was pure self-destruction that prompted him to pop the next question, but before he could stop himself from causing humiliation, his lips were moving. And he couldn’t (or didn’t want to) stop.
“Do you wanna come over today then?” Gemini asked, looking out at the rapidly passing trees and buildings so that he wouldn’t have to take Fourth’s possible rejection hard.
A couple of seconds passed between them and Gemini’s hopes were dwindling with each passing moment. By the time he gave up hope entirely, a soft voice murmured, “Sure”
Oh.
