Sometimes, Bambi needed time to himself to clear his head. He decided the best place to do that was the 3D Realm. Unless you go to the populated part of it, the 3D Realm was truly a place of peace and quiet, just what Bambi needed after a rough day. Surprisingly, he wasn't alone this time, as he saw a familiar face float by.
"Sup." Ringi said as he sat next to Bambi.
Bambi and Ringi didn't consider themselves friends but they were chill with each other.
"Hello Ringi, weird seeing Ringi here. Bambi thought Bambi was far away enough from others."
"Don't worry you are, it's just that I sometimes come out here to think. What do you come out here for?"
Bambi looked toward the endless sky before responding.
"Kind of the same, Bambi clears the head a lot."
"I feel you. Sometimes we just need a moment to ourselves. Nothing wrong with that."
After that, Ringi and Bambi sat in silence for a while until Ringi thought of something.
"Say Bambi… Can I ask you a personal question?"
Bambi, who was dozing off from the silence, perked up.
"Hmm, if Bambi can ask something about Ringi then sure."
Ringi nodded, that was fair after all.
"Okay shoot."
"Why is cat in Ringi's head?" Bambi said as he pointed to the cat sticking out of Ringi's head.
Ringi smiled before he gently pulled the cat out of his head.
"This is Toio, my pet cat. I got him a long time ago. He can come and go out of my head if he wants but he prefers to stay with me a lot of the time."
Bambi stared in awe at the cat, slowly reaching to let the cat sniff him before gently petting him on the head. Toio quietly purred as Bambi continued to pet him.
"Toio good cat."
Ringi nodded happily.
"He sure is… Now then, my question…"
Bambi stopped petting Toio and sat in anticipation as Ringi began the question.
"Bambi, why do you say your name instead of saying 'I'? Like when we first met, you said, 'Bambi, nice to meet Ringi.', instead of 'Hi, I'm Bambi, it's nice to meet you, Ringi.' I've been meaning to ask but I didn't know how to ask since… Well, you know… Your short temper and everything."
Bambi sat there in silence, causing Ringi to think he hit a nerve and looked away.
"S-Sorry, I didn't mean anything bad by it-"
"I can talk normally, Ringi. I just chose not to." Bambi finally spoke up, interrupting Ringi.
Ringi jumped back in surprise when he heard Bambi speak. Ringi figured Bambi spoke the way he did because he simply didn't know he could refer to himself using "I". After regaining his focus, Ringi responded.
"B-But, if that's the case, why do you choose not to?"
Bambi looked towards the sky again.
"I was bullied for the way I spoke so I learned to talk normally. It didn't help because they just found something else to bully me for… And it was usually stuff that was out of my control…"
"I… I had no idea… I'm so sorry that happened to you Bambi."
Bambi looked towards Ringi and smiled.
"It's alright Ringi. It was a long time ago anyways. I have better friends now who don't judge me for how I speak or how I am."
Ringi smiled back.
"Yeah… You know, I think I understand you a little better now."
"Bambi thinks so too."
Toio meowed happily at the two of them getting along.
