Work Text:
Kujou Sara leaned back into her beach chair, listening to the waves crash against the shore and the birds chirping around her. She glanced to her left, seeing through her sunglasses her best friend Kuki Shinobu lounging in a beach chair of her own, taking in the sun's rays and briefly stretching. She saw Shinobu glance down at herself, presumably looking at her new swimsuit through her own pair of sunglasses. Shinobu had decided to buy a brand new bikini the day before, saying she wanted to "celebrate the monumental occasion that was Madame Kujou Sara taking a day off."
Sara silently chuckled to herself as she remembered Shinobu's snarky comment. She took a deep breath, turned her head toward the water again, and closed her eyes.
She hated to admit it, but she needed a day like this, a day away from the hustle and bustle of the city and the stress of leading Inazuma’s armed forces. A nice, quiet day. A day free of interruptions, a day free of dealing with the regular annoyances in the city, a day free of the obnoxious and loud trouble makers that plagued her almost every single-
“Help!” She and Shinobu lifted their sunglasses when they heard the panicked voice of a certain Oni yell toward them. “Shinobu! Kujou Tengu! I’m drowning!”
“Oh for the love of-” Shinobu sighed.
“Itto!” Sara shouted as she sat up. “You’re almost 200 centimeters tall! The water is 90 centimeters deep! STAND. UP. ”
They watched as Itto stopped his thrashing about and got to his feet. The water barely made it to his waistline. “Thanks Kujou Tengu!” He shouted before returning to trying to catch a fish with his bare hands. At least that's what it looked like to Sara.
Sara let out loud sigh as she sat back into her chair and put her sunglasses back over her eyes. She briefly looked over at Shinobu to see Shinobu had done the same.
She turned back to look toward the ocean. “Remind me again why we had to bring him?”
“Because the last time I left him unsupervised and without something to do, he almost destroyed three stores in the marketplace.” answered Shinobu. “Don’t you remember all that paperwork we had to do? We were in the police station until 5 in the morning.”
“Oh… right.” Sara huffed. “How could I forget?”
