Author’s note: this is my first proper fic in over 2 years so things may be a little off. Also each chapter will be just over 1000 words so reading Chapter-by-chapter is easier

!!COMPLETE!!

Notes:

Minus the fic i wrote for a secret santa thing dec 2022, this is my first proper fic ive wrote since JAN 2022…so yeah i may be a little rusty in how things are written and formatted so sorryyyy. Also phrases like “moman” and “mon sher” i have seen used in most other fics under the “Alastor meets his mama” fics so my apologies if its i correct, as well as for any spelling errors.

Chapter 1: Is this a dream? A cruel dream?

Notes:

(See the end of the chapter for notes.)

Chapter Text

Hell, what an interesting place, sinners from every background and every sin imaginable down here, and Alastor took joy in ripping apart and eating the souls of the worst of them all. Despite it being hell he still felt the need to rid the place of sinners similar to those he killed before his own death, quickly rising to power not even a year after he arrived in 1933, walking through the streets of Hell enjoying the visible immediate fear of those he passed. Yet down in cannibal town he made friends with their overlord rosie, and despite the men (he hated most men regardless of knowing them or not) all the women knew him down in that lovely little town and were nothing but kind to him.

Today he had been doing his usual rounds, not sure as to what dear Charlie had been up to, she had been running around the hotel to take a lot of private phone calls, even having taken several trips the the Heavens Embassy and being happy when she left as well as when she returned, odd.

He payed it no mind until one lunch time, wondering on wether or not he should have his lunch up at the hotel, feasting on a deer carcass in the Bayou he created, the only thing he allowed himself to have to remind him of home, of the place he would kill, eat, and bury those wretched victims of his, or even reminding him of the long walks him and his mother would take along the fee muddy paths there were. He shook the thought from his head. Or take a nice trip down to cannibal town and surprise Rosie with his presence and have lunch with her, feasting on whatever lovely sinner’s corpse she had managed to get a hold of this time for him, no doubt having a lovely cup of tea afterwards with the cannibal overlord and sharing all the gossip with each other.

He had finally decided to head to Rosie's, a nice change of taste for a day. Right as he finished getting ready and summoned his microphone cane, beginning to walk down the hall, he felt charlie’s presence leave the hotel, the protective wards he had put up (which lucifer helped with much to his annoyance) alerting him to everyone’s entrances and exits, and standing outside, close enough to be detected still, odd. Not even a minute later he felt another soul approaching the hotel, one he did not recognise, one he felt a surge of hope flowing from this soul, and with that he was alerted that this new soul and Charlie entering the hotel.

He pauses for a moment, hoping to give a little shock to this new guest if he were to appear from a pool of shadow’s directly in front of the pair. He takes a deep breath and focuses his power into melting into a shadowy puddle on the floor, navigating his way to the main lobby and hang put area. As he approaches in the shadows he can hear excited chatter, exiting from his shadows in the middle of everyone, directly in front of Charlie and the new Guest.

“So Charlie! Which foolish soul has decided to—“ he began to speak and ask who the new guest was trying to get into heaven yet not even looking at them, but in that moment an all too familiar voice rang through his ears as they stood as straight as they could, his static ambient noise screeching to a halt.

“Alastor..? Mon Sher..?”

Alastor snaps his head to look at who the voice came from, and he just stands there, the second he sees her, his ears become flat against his head, staring at the woman who sounds exactly like and looks almost the exact same as his mother. Brown with a hint of a golden shine, curly hair that comes to her shoulders, a soft face with smile lines around her mouth, a few faint scars on her cheeks where her husband's wedding ring had caught her when he would hit her, a long yellow dress with short sleeves, a dress that looks wonderful on her, like a ray of sunshine. Lillian Miller, his mother.

He looked at her, frozen in place, nearly losing his smile but the green stitches keeping the corners of his mouth turned up. The pair looked at each other without a word, not a single sound in the room from anyone, even Nifty had stopped chasing bugs to watch.

In a fast movement Alastor moved directly in front of this woman, about to bring her into a hug but hesitates before he can touch her, convinced he had passed out from lack of ever sleeping and was dreaming a cruel dream that his beloved mother was standing in Hell, in the Hazbin Hotel, right in front of him. “…Maman..?” He manages to mutter, no radio effect in his voice, before the woman smiles and hugs him tight, her head barely reaching his chest.

He once again smiles big, but this time genuine, as he hold his mother close, his static returning quietly and calmly. Not noticing everyone else in the lobby staring at them, mouths gaping, almost on the floor. Everyone shockecked that the terrifying Radio Demon’s mother was a sweet and pure angel.

Lucifer is the first to speak, “Mr Creepy Smile’s mother is an ANGEL?!” But as soon as the words come out of his mouth Alastor with a wave of a hand sumons one of his black tentacle things as it whacks Lucifer across the face as once again the sound of static picks up loud again.

He goes to get annoyed at Alastor but pauses when Alastor’s angel mother steps back, bringing her hand up but pausing confused, Alastor sighs knowing what is coming, lowering his head and bringing his ears back up, Lilian grabbing him by one of the ears and pulling him to one of the couches and making him sit down, all while giving him into trouble for disrespecting someone of such high power.

A few in the room laugh a little, seeing the Big Bad Radio Demon being berated by his mother and letting her do so. Lillian pauses for a moment before grabbing his ear and pulling him towards her “Alastor David Miller what on fine earth did you do to end up in hell?!” Everyone stares and slowly begin to shuffle out of the room, not wanting to get involved.

“Maman can we do this somewhere else? Away from people?” He looks up and rubs his ear after Lillian lets go, she sighs and lets him stand up, he takes her up to his room, holding out his arm to her while using his head to gesture to the bayou he had created. She takes his arm as they bein walking through the pathways.
