Kipo swallowed down the lump in her throat as she watched Wolf's running form getting smaller and smaller by the second. Tears burned her eyes but she forced herself to keep them at bay. She felt so stupid.
She had messed up. She had messed up real bad. If only she has told Wolf from the very beginning...
But now it was too late.
Kipo doubted that Wolf would return. Benson had went after her, but Kipo knew how stubborn the younger girl was. Now that she knew that Kipo was part-mute, she would stay as far away from her as possible.
Kipo's lower lip wobbled. They'd been making so much progress! Kipo had finally convinced Wolf to join her burrow. Wolf had finally started to open up about her past. They had finally started to become more like sisters. And then everything went to hell.
Kipo had given her anything. She'd shown Wolf so much patience, kindness and understanding. But no matter how good she treated her, Wolf would never be able to look past her muteness. She would never be able to look past the liar that Kipo had become.
Kipo's heart was aching in her chest. She hadn't expected that losing someone would hurt that bad.
Benson nor Wolf were anywhere to be seen. Kipo hugged Dave only slightly tighter as she felt salty tears on the verge of rolling down her purple cheeks. All the trust that she had built up between herself and Wolf had been lost in the matter of a couple of seconds.
She was angry at herself for believing that keeping her abilities secret would do her relationship with Wolf any good. She was also angry at Wolf for throwing away everything for something that Kipo couldn't control.
Hadn't she given enough?
