Wolf felt bad for running off. Of course she did. Kipo didn't deserve any of that.
Ever since they met, Kipo had been nothing but nice. Wolf had taken it for granted and let her fears consume her. She hadn't expected to be welcomed back with open arms, but when she was, she'd known that Kipo was there to stay. The burrow-girl was nothing like Margot, which she had proved time and time again.
Wolf trusted Kipo. More than she liked to admit. So why was it so hard for her to reveal her past?
Wolf knew that she wasn't the easiest person to be around. She was stubborn. She was hostile. She was cold. Maybe even a little bit selfish. She wasn't proud of those traits, even though they kept her alive. Worst of all was her deep hatred of mutes.
It was no surprise that Kipo kept her mute-abilities a secret. Wolf understood why and didn't hold it against her. Still, she couldn't help but flinch whenever fur grew on Kipo's arms or legs.
Kipo deserved to know why.
And Benson too. He'd chased her all around Las Vistas to get her back. Wolf had been rude to him and she felt that she owed him an explanation. Both of them had given her what she always wanted. To be cared for and loved.
Despite how hard it was, Wolf had to open up and let them in. And that meant revealing her dark past.
Wolf sighed, holding Stalky just slightly tighter for comfort.
It was time to tell them.
It was time to tell them everything.
