   Summary

   For decades Under the Mountain, Eris has played his role of despicable yet obedient princeling quite well. He does what he can to navigate the ever-changing politics of the underground court and subtly manipulate Amarantha to keep her attention away from his family. When a sylph is captured by the Attor as a punishment for a High Lord's misstep, Eris is inexplicably drawn to her. This draw threatens to ruin his plots as he seeks to protect her. For her part, Aurae is constantly searching for a way to regain her magic and escape out from under the mountain. She intends to ignore the pull toward Eris. At least until she begins to realize that there’s more beneath his cold, callous mask.
