Chapter Text

scout was no idiot, or maybe he was or acted like one anyways, his day started long ago when eengie dragged him out of his bed and started to explain him some shit about father love, scout was to tired to listen anyway.
he realised where he was when he drank his first energy drink of the day.

the day was sun and rainbows until spy joined the common room and started to try be a "good" dad, by that he means being a completly asshole but calling scout son at the end of the phrase, completly touching scout nerves "oh please! im not trying to piss you off, kid" his well known dad said "mimimimmi" scout imitated him, clearly annoyed by his presence leaved the base, heading to snipers van unconsciously.

sniper has been a really good pal when scout is angry, the scopeman stick with him not making a big deal the struggles of scout of pushing him away when hes vulnerable. before he could think of a correct work to say to his good friendhe was knocking his door. sniper opened the door, looking like he was in a rush "hey snipes.." this nickname pissed off sniper, he only allowed scout to call him like that, for some reason, the other members of the team were confused everytime the runner called him like that and sniper seemed fine by it.
"Ah mate, im sorry, im headin out right now," sniper said as soon he saw scout face his expression changed to a concerned one "are ya alrigh-" before sniper could finish his sentence scout interrumped him "can i go with you?" sniper chuckled "well...i guess, but have ya told yo dad?"´scout sighed as soon spy was mentioned, shifting his position as he was standing, now resting his body on the door frame, looking at sniper with pleading eyes "please snipes" sniper analized his face for a moment and then nodded "just dont piss me off, ya little gremblin" scout felt his stomach do a flip entering the van with his usual speed.

time passed fast with sniper, scout didn't feel the need to talk all the time with him, he enjoyed the silence, by the way, that was the name of sniper favorite song "enjoy the silence" by Depeche mode, he played that song so many times in the van that scout started to learn the lyrics.

they were already an hour away from the base, sniper was smoking and driving while scout was in the driver's seat reading a comic he found in the convenience store, as he was hugging his legs with his arms, the typical crying pose, he could feel sniper gaze on him.

the runner felt his eyes landing on him way too often, not taking much of a care of it because sniper was a wallflower you know? he saw and understood.

"so we are gonna camp out there?" the city boy asked, kinda worried about camping.
"ye, are ya scared of bugs?" the bushman asked as he parked the van, stopping it and with it stopping the music, causing scout to let out a sigh missing already the technology.

as sniper unloaded the things to camp, scout sat in the wood, watching the taller man carefully, noticing how his scars showed when his shirt showed too much skin. that bad shaved beard, maybe cause he was too lazy to shave it correctly. sniper looked good, way too good. Scout had to look away and try to think of another things before he would do something stupid like saying what he was thinking.

the night was quick to catch, they already made the fire, making a nice lighting, they were eating and laughing at each other jokes, then silence, the silence you make when you're about to tell a secret.

"oi, are ya gonna talk bout why are you so down?" sniper asked, his laugh fading away quickly "my pa" he never calls spy dad, but he might earned that place, he just needed time, he remembers too well when he told him.

Spy called his mom and made a reservation on a fancy restaurant, to make an announcement, clearly Scout didn't took it well, we was in denial, disappointed of being the son of a French he said. but of course it was for the years of auscense, even when he joined the team Spy immediately recognized scout, his son.

back to reality scout heard sniper mutter "that bloody spoi" making scout chuckle.

"i just...it's hard you know? im 26 and he finally wants to play the dad role," scout kicks a rock and opens a beer. "for a guy that is really fast I always seem to arrive so late." he said as he took a sip out of the can, tossing it aside "..anyway I don't wanna talk about it." he let out a sigh.

"well, yeah..I get it, well no but I can tell how you feel mate, im here..for ya, you know," sniper took off his hat, looking at the stars "well, look at those beauts" scout looked at the sky, yeah they were a nice view, but he wasn't intesed in those stars, in change he stared at the reflection of the stars on snipers eyes.

he knew the beer was making him idiot, more than he was, he was no drunk but was being honest, maybe too honest.

"I love you snipes." scout said, still staring at sniper eyes, he noticed how the scopeman opened his eyes in surprise and looked at him inmediately, staring at the younger boy face, there were no words needed, sniper just leaned in, softly carresing scout cheek with his thumb, and kissed him, softly, gently, no rush.

scout could feel every heartbeat in his chest, how the time seemed to slip through his fingers, when sniper pulled away he was felt speechless, he has wanting this for so long, it was embarrassing.

"I love ya too," sniper said, quietly but sincere "ya planned all this dont ya, little ankle biter" he said in a teasing manner, returning to their common dynamic, scout giggling and sniper smirking and being proud of his teasing, or scout yapping about a comic he readed, like that time when scout went to snipers van at 3 am to read a comic that excited him and sniper just heard him as he sipped coffee, finally they both fell asleep on his couch.
scout was happy of how things turned out with sniper, it wasn't his plan, but snipers lips where on his again.

this was scout luckiest night.
