It had been about 3 minutes after their fall.
After Steven experienced what Connie did yesterday and was swarmed with white butterflies.
And even though everything was a lot calmer and quieter now, as Stevonnie was looking at the sky just laying there.
There had been a lot of questions going on in Connie’s mind.
Like who were those gems?
Why was Steven so scared and guilty about seeing them again?
What did Steven meant that he had no choice?
And why did he looked scared and tearful to see his mom?
Then he speaks to her.
“Hey, uh Connie? Would you mind if we, you know, un-fuse so that i can have some time to breathe?” Steven’s voice coming out of Stevonnie asked.
“Uh, sure.” Connie’s voice coming out of Stevonnie replied.
And so she un-fuse back into being both Connie and Steven.
With the half crystal gem boy just laying on the ground, not moving or responding to his friend.
And while Connie understand that he needs some alone time.
The questions inside her head was never gonna go away unless she asks him.
So seeing a white butterfly land on him, she walks up to him and flicks the butterfly out of his body.
Then she talks to him.
“Even if you don’t want to talk about it, can you please tell me who are those gems?” Connie asked her friend.
After hearing that question, Steven looks at her.
As even though he’s still not ready to go over his trauma,
He didn’t want a repeat of what happened after Jasper and Lapis Lazuli fused into Malachite.
So after a minute of thinking, he finally talks to her.
“Ok, I’ll tell you everything. But please don’t get scared at some of them.” Steven said to his friend.
“Ok, i won’t.” Connie said as she sits down next to him.
And so Steven takes a deep breathe.
And explains some of his trauma with Connie and who the gems are.

“The gem we stabbed at the air temple, that was Bismuth. A former member of the Crystal Gems who fought alongside Pearl and Garnet.” Steven said.
“Wait so did that mean that Amethyst wasn’t born or became a crystal gem after what happened to Bismuth?” Connie asked being surprised at this fact
“Yeah, but she was sealed away by my mother, as she made a weapon that can kill a gem by instantly shattering them, and when i found her inside lion, i had no choice but to stab her with my mother’s sword. And after she said her last words to me, she poof back into her gem and was sent to Garnet’s room for protection.” Steven replied.
“Wow, that’s really dark and sad.” Connie said.
“Remember when i told you about Jasper, and her fusing with Lapis Lazuli?” Steven asked.
“Yeah.” Connie replied.
“Well, jasper was turned into a corrupted gem before she was poof by Peridot. But before she did became fully corrupted, she accused me of doing something horribly wrong to a person named pink diamond. Who i think might be related to Yellow and Blue Diamond. I wonder how she’s doing.” Steven said.
“So your saying that corrupted gems are actually gems who have been turned into monsters by a huge disaster?” Connie asked.
“Yeah, but that’s not the worst part. The rubies came back and told us that Pink Diamond was shattered by my own mum. But I didn’t want to believe them, then after Sardonyx sent the rubies to space, i was caught in the rush and was sent to space too with my gem bubble. Then Eyeball comes around and-.” Steven tries to say before being interrupted.
“Woah, woah, woah. Hole up, hold up. Eyeball? Who’s Eyeball?” Connie asked being confused.
“Oh yeah, I called the 5 rubies by the placement of their gems. Their called Navy, Eyeball, Leggy, Army and Doc.” Steven explained.
“Oh ok.” Connie said now understanding everything.
“Anyways, Eyeball comes around and tried to stab me with her pocket knife, i managed to send her away by using my gem bubble against her before the crystal gems found me. And then that’s when they told the truth to me.” Steven said before having a sad tone on his voice.
“What is it?” Connie asked while starting to be worried about her friend.
“That, Mum was a shatterer. She shattered Pink Diamond in order to save the earth from destruction.” Steven said while trying not to cry.
“What? But I thought your mum would never be a shatterer.” Connie said sounding really scared.
“That’s what I thought too. But once the gems told me that, I knew that if she didn’t then I wouldn’t have existed.” Steven said.
After that talk, more white butterflies appears and begins to land all over Steven’s body.
Like his trauma is starting to cover him as there was no way to get rid of them.
Then he begins to cry right in front of Connie.
“Steven, are you ok?” Connie asked becoming more worried for her friend.
“I’m sorry! I never wanted you to know everything that happened! But I had to! And now I feel so dumb and stupid for telling you all of the things that i have been through.” Steven said as he continues to cry.
Then before he is fully covered with a swarm of white butterflies, he feels something wrapped around him.
And as some of the butterflies leaves, he sees that it is Connie who’s hugging.
“It’s ok. In fact talking about your trauma with a friend or loved one is what helps you become calm and accepting about them.” Connie said.
“Really?” Steven asked.
“Yeah, I didn’t tell you this before. But after that school incident, I had a chat with mum about it, and after talking with her, it helped me feel better even I’m still feeling guilty about it.” Connie replied.
“Wow, can’t believe your mum actually understands how you feel.” Steven said.
“Yeah, but she did grounded me for 1 week as punishment for hurting Jeff. But luckily i was able to find a way to sneak out and go to your house.” Connie said.
“Cool.” Steven said as he starts to smile again.
“It’s like what Garnet said err sang to us, sometimes our traumas is just a thought that will cause us to lose sight or touch, but after we realise it’s ok, we’ll always be there for each other.” Connie said.
“You think so?” Steven asked.
“Yeah, as all we need to do is to think about is just flexibility, love and trust.” Connie replied.
Then Steven hugs his friend.
“Thanks Connie for being here for me.” He said to his friend.
“Your welcome.” Connie said.
And so as the two hug each other, more butterflies begin to leave Steven Universe until only none remains.
And the two friends remained this way until a few seconds later when they hear a voice.

“Steven! Connie! Are you two alright?”
“Wait, that sounded like Pearl.” Steven said as he recognises it.
Then they both see Garnet and Pearl arriving at the fields of flowers while flying on a magic carpet, who is actually Amethyst doing her shapeshifting magic.
“Oh thank goodness your’e both ok. I was so scared to see you two fall to your death as Stevonnie.” Pearl said while acting like a paranoid mum.
“It seems like Connie isn’t the only one who has a lot of guilt in her.” Garnet said.
“Thanks, but we were able to resolve some things by using the method that you taught us.” Connie said to Garnet.
“Yeah, but wait, Amethyst? What are you doing here? You weren’t with us at the ir temple.” Steven asked one of the crystal gems.
“Well you see, garnet and Pearl told me everything that happened so i help them find where you and Connie was in. It wasn’t easy being a magic carpet, but hey it worked.” Amethyst replied.
“Anyways, how about we take Connie home so that we won’t get in trouble with Mrs Maheswaran and then take Steven home too.” Pearl said to the others crystal gems.
“Ok, but most of all, I’m proud that my method helped the two of you.” Garnet said.
And so both Steven and Connie gets on amethyst, as she flies back to Beachside City.
And while this is all happening, Steven looks back at the fields of flowers and sees that even though he can still see the white butterflies.
He is glad that his friend was able to help him out for a little bit.
As after all, his trauma will only get worse from here.
But right now just like him being here for Connie.
She is here for him.
And that’s all that matter now.
